First experience - great! Second - not the best but palatable. This experience - absolutely not. Beyond unacceptable and appalling! It's one thing to have someone debate with you about whether or not the meat is undercooked, it's an entirely different thing to find a roach in your child's food... yep, a baby ROACH. See picture for reference. It wasn't on top either - it was buried in the rice, crawling around, alive and well. Enough said. Will NOT be returning. Ever. Shame on you Zara's.

We came here because we were having a late dinner. The interior is nice with nice looking bathroom. Service was fine as well. My husband had the schwarma platter and he liked it. He got the hummus and rice and thought they tasted good. The meat has a nice tanginess which was lovely. My friend and I shared the mixed grill platter which came with schwarma, koobideh, kabobs, rice and salad. It was a good amount of food. The one critique though was all the meats though flavorful were on the dry side. Usually koobideh is really fatty and juicy. Flavors were all there though. Baba ganoush was really good with a nice smoky flavor. 2 friends got the lamb shank which they said were really tender. The feta salads were nice. The one thing that soured our meal a bit and knocked this place to a 3 was that there was a roach that crawled behind our booth. Yes it can happen at any restaurant, but the response to the roach by the staff was "sorry, we just sprayed", which didn't seem like an adequate response. Our friend's spouse said that the falafel was really tasty so if we ever go back I'd want to try that. It's definitely nice to have this type of food on the north side of Houston without having to go all the way to Westheimer or Hillcroft.

Today's lunch was fabulous! We thoroughly enjoyed it. We had two lamb shanks and that has to be one of the best dishes here. I was perfectly satisfied with my gyro salad. I needed something light. We ordered the hummus and the apple tea! The tea tray was so fancy! Ahmed served us today and another lovely young lady- I didn't catch her name. The music make the experience nice and it was decently full but not loud. We really enjoyed it and I will be recommending this place more!

My grandmother and I came here for the first time for lunch it was AMAZING. Eman was our server and she was very attentive and polite. I loved the music playing and the beautiful chandeliers hanging all over. The food was beyond delicious and fresh we got the Zara's platter to share! Wow!! Amazing experience! We enjoyed the hummus sampler for starters. There are three type of hummus samples. The first was a traditional hummus, the second one was a red pepper hummus and the last one was a spicy hummus. We enjoyed all three. I prefer spicy so the spicy one was my fav. The pita was tasty with the hummus. The pita is flavorful! I had the Greek feta salad with gyro meat. It was a nice salad with lightly pickled red onion. It had cucumbers, tomatoes, artichoke and romaine lettuce. Sometimes a salad can be a little bland but this one had the right amount of salad dressing. We also had the seasoned meat quesadilla. It had traditional hummus on the side and saffron balsaatti rice. The quesadilla was a large pita versus a flour tortilla. It was so filling. The service was on point! The staff was attentive and helpful. Alcohol is not served at the restaurant but it looks like a nice variety of smoothies, juices and mocktails. Nice traditional ambiance. It's off Louetta and close to home so we will be back!

So, for this Mother's Day, Zara's Mediterranean it is and my mom was so happy with the food here. Each of us ordered our own plate and honestly it was filling. On top of the food, the orders with kabobs comes with pita bread and garlic sauce. I'm guilty I asked extra sauce but that sauce was bomb. Also, it's so beautiful inside and outside. My mom wanted some pictures by the fountain outside and they turned out great. The only thing I felt was it was a little pricy but after eating the food, I felt it's all worth the money. Do try their non alcoholic drinks though they are the best.

Zara's was amazing! We started with the hummus trio and baba ganoush. Then we shared the swarms lovers platter and a grill platter. Everything came with super generous serving a of fresh pita bread. Literally every bite was fabulous. We tried a few of the mocktails too that were super tasty. Service was fast and very polite! We highly highly recommend for dine in or take out!

I was looking for a Mediterranean place up North and Zara's popped up as close to me. It had decent reviews so gave it a try. The place is easy to find with ample parking. Note: The door is really heavy. Upon walking in, I was met with really beautiful decor. The colorful lanterns and the lights reminded me of my travels in the area. Service was quick. I was seated promptly and the waiter made himself available for any questions I had. It was around lunch time. I knew I wanted a wrap and was deciding between chicken shish kebab or chicken kefta. The waiter recommended chicken kefta saying it was easier to eat. Since this sounded new and different, I went with it. Taste wise, I thought it tasted decent. However, the chicken was a bit on the chewy side. It also didn't look aesthetically appetizing. I think it's because of the skinny patty shape and it may have been a bit overcooked. I finished it but think I probably should've ordered the shish kebab. The lentil soup was the perfect side portion. Small and enough to hold me until the main dish showed up. I didn't realized it came with chopped green onions and parsley as a topping. It was okay as an addition but think I could skip this or have it on the side instead. The Honey Delight drink was AMAZING. I am coming back for this drink. The menu actually had an extensive listing of fresh beverages. I really love this. Overall positive. The food came out a bit different than expected but I'd still come back to try other things on their menu.

I came here for dinner with my husband and had a delightful meal. The interior of this restaurant is absolutely stunning and vibrant. The staff was warm and welcoming, and the AC happening to be out when we came, so they made sure we had a fan by our table to help keep us cool. They do have a long menu with lots of options, so we settled on some of their fresh juices, samosas, I got their gyro and tabbouleh, and my husband got the gyro torta. The juices were so incredibly fresh and delicious. Their samosas had a great flavorful filling and creamy dipping sauce. Our gyros were delicious. Can't wait to come back again!

Zara's is one of the best Mediterranean food experiences I've had. Fresh juices were delicious. I had a Falafel Salad with Lentil Soup and also tried the Mixed Kabob Combo with a side of fresh grilled veggies. The taste of everything was nothing short of fulfilling. We topped everything off with Zara's Chi Cherry dessert. Bon apetit to the last bit of whipped cream. read more

First time we ordered via Uber Eat. The family loved it. Then on my birthday, we decided to dine in. We came early afternoon, not too crowded. Food & service was great. We had the salmon, kabobs platter (steaks & chicken), hummus appetizer. We tried the coffee, it was good but not my favorite. The desert was just average. read more

Disappointing all around. Worse than the woodlands one. Ordered Halloumi that had previously been fried and was smothered in rancid olive oil. This is a huge no-no. Ordered the mixed grill which was just okay. Meat was overcooked a little and drier than it should have been/ I really want this to be good; but it's empty which makes it a little depressing and then owners get into the shortcut game to save money. Yucca Grill is opening nearby, maybe that will be amazing but outside of that, in the immediate area there really isn't excellent Mediterranean. This could be it; but they need to up the quality and get traffic in the door. read more

Outstanding! I have no idea why it took us so long to try this place- we can't wait to come back. The space is clean and beautiful, comfy seating, and it's nicely decorated. The service was warm, efficient, and friendly. The food- absolutely delicious- everything! My date had the mixed skewers - beef and chicken and he was raving about how well cooked and seasoned it was. Their creamy garlic sauce was pitch perfect on the beef kabob especially. Also- we dipped his yummy waffle cut fries in that garlic sauce and it was so good. I had gyro and salad and rice- all very tasty- the meat was very well seasoned and the salad was perfectly dressed. Rice was high quality and well cooked. Hummus was also very good - with a nice hefty drizzle of high quality olive oil on it. The only thing we didn't love was their pita bread- it was a bit heavier/thicker than we like. It was perfectly fine, just a preference thing. We asked for hot sauce and they brought out what was clearly something made in house and we inhaled it, it was SO delicious! This will absolutely be a regular stop for us- outstanding on every front. read more

Zara's is amazing! We love the ambiance, the staff, and especially the food!! The menu is massive. Full of goodness. Iman was our waitress today, and she was great. Taha was our waiter last time. Also great! They are all so friendly. Great vibes. I highly recommend the shawarma plate and the cucumber cooler drink. Hubs is a big fan of the falafel and kafta. Hummus is also super tasty. Zara's never misses. Check em out! read more

This is a second location of the Zara's in the Woodlands. It is on Louetta, about halfway between Champion Forest and Old Louetta in the old location of Bismillah. The interior has been lavishly redone, with furnishings and some serving dishes purchased in Turkey. The menu has expanded and includes traditional Mediterranean food plus much more. The prices remain moderate, and the service was excellent. It is a nice quiet spot to visit with friends and family. read more

We were looking for a place to eat after work and we wanted something healthy. We tried this restaurant and we were surprised with the spread of nonalcoholic drinks that they have. We tried the lime mint mojito and piña colada. They were both great without any alcohol. It was the server Ahmed who recommended those drinks. On the menu my husband picked the lamb chops. The serving was very generous. I picked the combination plate consisting of gyro chicken and two sides. I picked the Greek salad and basmati rice. We also ordered a serving of hummus just to try it. Overall ambiance is great - very clean and beautiful decor and interior. Serving is generous and our server Ahmed is outstanding giving us superb recommendations and checking up on us very often. I highly recommend this restaurant. I and my husband had a great first time experience eating at this place. read more

I am very disappointed in the fattoush salad I ordered. The dressing was tasteless and the salad had a strange smell--almost fishy. No idea what that scent was but what I do know is that this tasted nothing like the fattoush I have had over the years. It went in the trash. The falafel wasn't horrible but not my fav. I only ate one. What a waste of $30 tonight. Sounds like a lot of reviewers love this place. Maybe the chicken and meat items are wonderful. I'll never know. read more

Delicious food, beautiful decor and great service! My husband and I went to Zara's today. We love Mediterranean food, and we were excited to try it out. The decorations are fabulous, from the hanging carpets to beautiful lamps and colorful walls. The music was also exciting and authentic adding to the atmosphere. We ordered the chicken shwarma platter and beef kubedeh kabob wrap. The seasoning on the chicken was delicious, flatbread was slightly crunch on the outside and soft inside. Beef was wonderful, rice flavorful, and garlic sauce sooo yum! I'm excited to visit again! I hope they get many more customers, we were the only ones there. Chicken shawarma with a side of waffles fries. Personally a big fan of waffle fries so that was a plus. Chicken was seasoned just right and the staff was very friendly! If you're craving Mediterranean this is definitely a good choice. I loved the vibe of the place and will deff come back soon! read more

I was really disappointed as I love Mediterranean food. The gyro meat was so salty and the pita bread was not very good, had a strange flavor and was also kind of wet. We paid over 12 dollars for a hummus sampler that had 3 1 ounce servings. So expensive and definitely not worth it. We won't be back. read more

The food was excellent but service was non existent. I asked if the rice had nuts or dried cranberries and the waiter looked at me like I was stupid. He replied it is just rice. I would expect him to have some knowledge of Mediterranean cuisine. No refills offered on drinks nor offered extra napkins. After we ordered our meal we never saw the waiter again. read more

Since this is a Michelin acknowledged restaurant two years in a row, we were expecting uniqueness and we were not disappointed. That said, food was very good, but I would not rate it as spectacular. The blue fin tuna tostados were delightful and hands down the best dish we had. Ceviche mixto was excellent with a just a hint of heat. I would order these two appetizer dishes again. Main courses consisted of duck 2 ways, redfish with green mole and risotto, spring cavatelli, and grilled shrimp & pork belly. All were delicious and uniquely tasty with the exception of the duck. Mind you, I really like duck and the sliced portions were excellent and perfectly seasoned and moist, but the pate-like accompaniment was not that good, plus the mole sauce was not what I was expecting. Table sides of Brussels sprouts and fried cauliflower were good but nothing special. The Eton Mess with strawberries was simply delicious. Would I go back? Maybe, but not anytime soon.

Despite having a fondness for Mediterranean cuisine and being drawn to Zara's festive and inviting storefront, I had never felt the inclination to give it a try despite passing by it on numerous occasions. However, as part of my commitment to ONLY NEW IN 2024, Zara's finally made the cut. Upon arrival, I noticed the restaurant featured a charming outdoor patio for those who preferred dining al fresco. While I typically don't opt for outdoor seating due to being too hot or too cold, it's always cool to see an establishment offering this option. Stepping inside, the Mediterranean-themed décor transported me to a far-off land. Although the interior was a single spacious room with tables and chairs, lacking the complexity of mazes created by booths and dividers, it did offer a complete view of the restaurant and its patrons, creating an open and communal atmosphere. Despite my initial excitement about trying Zara's, I was disappointed to discover that they didn't serve alcohol. As someone who enjoys a beer or a stiff spirit drink with a meal, this was a letdown, prompting me to deduct a star from my experience. In the Mediterranean, renowned for its good beer, I would have enjoyed the opportunity to try one. Despite this setback, the rest of the dining experience was satisfactory. The menu was extensive, reminiscent of the Cheesecake Factory's vast selections. After perusing the options, we settled on the Beef Shawarma tacos and falafel. While there were other side dishes like pitas and hummus, they tasted similar to those I've had elsewhere. The beef shawarma tacos held promise in terms of ingredients and flavor but were let down by the toughness of the beef, making it challenging to fully enjoy the combination of textures. The falafel, although appearing brown and almost burnt, surprised us with a heavy dose of garlic. While this departure from traditional falafel was unexpected, I enjoyed the garlicky flavor, even though it left a strong aftertaste. Despite these minor disappointments, Zara excelled in terms of service. From the moment we walked in until we left, the staff, led by Taha, provided excellent service, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Our glasses were consistently filled, and assistance was readily available. Overall, despite the few drawbacks, the positive aspects of the visit, particularly the outstanding service, make me willing to return and explore more items on the menu in the future. read more
