I don't go Zara very often and i always buy something when I walk out the store but not this time. First, today I walked in for returning. The lady looked frown and she didn't ask the reasons about returning. She gave me a "cold" feeling stronger than A/C. Second, I moved to the lady section. I wonder, was i walked in at the wrong time or what?! The sale people just didn't look happy to me. No smile=No approachable. Third, I walked out the store with nothing. Coming from Europe and knowing Zara stores for more a decade, I didn't expect a good customer service. Zara is mostly well known for their haughty and arrogant employees, not for their products. Well, in this Valley Fare Zara store, nothing changes! Compare to Europe -where Zara is considered as a fashion middle low-quality store range - prices are easily the double for the same poor cloth quality. //My customer experience// I was looking for a white top, I found 3 and wanted to try them, as Zara doesn't have a consistent sizing. I normally wear a Medium, the L was to tide, the XL too large. The usual Zara sizing. ALL THE WHITE TOPS I TRIED WERE STAINED WITH FOUNDATION, that is unacceptable. It's something I've never seen in any shop, even in an European Zara! The fitting room employee was chatting and laughing with a coworker about another employee. It was so funny and so super-important she ignored several customers waiting for help; the queue for a fitting room became really big. When the fitting room started to be really busy and customers grumpy - this is what happened when brainless employees are distractive - the other employee magicly despaired. Classical Zara customer service. When my turn arrived, three or four fitting rooms where already empty (again poor organisation). The employee didn't response back to my "hello" and pointed me an empty fitting room. Same when I give her back some clothes. Not a word. She was maybe too tired after chatting with her colleague to speak to customers? Long waiting time again before paying. Nobody before me was paying, the 2 cashiers were waiting... Customer service here is a joke .. there actual is NO customer service. I tried to return a pair of jeans they don't look good on me.. the store and customer service on the phone told Me I NEED the receipt! I didn't have it, they were not willing to even let me exchange the item for something else (which is usually the policy is most other stores and their system does not apparently have the capacity to pull up the receipt with your credit card info! ALL stores have this option. I have never had an issue in other stores if I lost my receipt in the past! What a joke.. they don't even post this policy anywhere in their store... Umm, finally!!! Too bad they decided to hold opening after the holiday sales were over. ;) Zara is a great brand with fantastic items that can be trendy or classic, with moderate prices. This location, despite being two stories tall, doesn't seem to have very much stuff in it. The displays seem more boutique-like so none of the racks are filled with items to finger through. Zara also has a crap-ton more shoes and handbags and other accessories available than what I saw displayed at this location. That being said, there are whole sections for both men and kids (though I'd have preferred more of the women's items). The NYC locations seem to jam more stuff into smaller stores. That being said, the SAs are really friendly, and semi-too attentive. WORST AND MOST OUTRAGEOUS RETURN POLICY!!!! DO NOT BUY GIFTS FROM ZARA!!! I am writing this review on behalf of my mom who was returning items for me. It was recently my 1 year old son's birthday, and he received many baby clothes from Zara. Since I don't live near a Zara, I asked my mom to return the items for me. The following week my mom goes to return the items. She expected merchandise credit (which is standard for every store). HOWEVER, the cashier tells her and THEY DON'T GIVE MERCHANDISE CREDIT. And that my mom MUST exchange it for something in the store at the same time. And on top of that, whatever you exchange it for, it will be FINAL SALE. She called me because she knows I'm picky and was afraid she would get something I wouldn't like. It was the end of the sale season and they had horrible inventory for baby clothes and my mom barely had any options. She was in a rush, and also did not have time to go shopping and look for baby clothes. All she wanted to do was a simple return for merchandise credit. Is that too much to ask? She told them the situation, but the store manager and cashiers were extremely inconsiderate and gave her the absolute WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. She was there for over an hour, outraged and upset by their horrible return policy, my mom left the store and did not do the return. Lesson learned, NEVER SHOP FROM ZARA. MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE PRICE TAG!!! Per Jose, General Manager at Zara, they will not honor price adjustments in store. If you buy an item, the item is incorrectly marked, you must do the adjustment in store or they will not honor it. It was only $20 but it's the principle of the matter. This place never got better it just got worst. It feels like a outlet store. They never keep up with their website, if you see something online don't expect it to be in this store for weeks. Today I experienced the most appalling customer service and management behavior I have ever encountered. I went to purchase a blazer marked 59€ (without any other price markings on the tag), and was told that I owed $99 for the item. According to the international currency exchange rate, the USD is equal to .92€ as of today (12/17/2015) which translates the price of the blazer from 59€ to $63 USD. When presented with the price difference, the manager of the store ignored the current exchange rate and insisted that even though the clothing was marked only in Euros, that I would have to pay double what the currency translates to in USD. He stated that stickers with USD prices were placed on the price tags, but that they "fall off all the time" and cited that as the cause of all the confusion. What this amounts to is false advertising. I'm concerned as to how many people have been duped by this scheme and I'm certain that the federal, state, and local regulatory authorities as well as local social media sites would be interested in looking into this practice. In all fairness, I do not think that the unprofessional and patronizing behavior of the manager of the Valley Fair location is representative of the company's overall integrity. However I would be interested in hearing an explanation of this pricing method. read more

"Mommy! Mommy! Mommy! Can we please stop by ZARA's before we go home?" This would be me if I was a little girl begging to Mother after Sunday school, if ZARA was a candy store. I love ZARA. ZARA. It's like Sarah but without H because H's are ew. ;-) This store to me is like Victoria's Secret. When in Valley Fair, this is one of my stops or I am not leaving the building. Imagine being in town and paying your auntie Vicky a visit but not paying your cousin ZARA a visit too? That's just not right is it? ZARA has merchandise that's both for men and women. Very contemporary and their design is eclectic. From plain-colored, modern, office-person clothing to very colorful, bright and super sassy dresses. They sell footwear too well as bags. Truly organized and easy to locate. This store in Valley Fair has a ground floor and a second floor. You can reach both of these floors from outside of the shop and from inside the shop through an escalator inside the store. There are times that they are very busy because of a lot of clientele and the merchandise that are laid out on the folded display can look a little bit this organized, but that's pretty much understandable because the clientele did that. But the staff is always very friendly, even the manager is. One time, I visited the store and I happened been to fancy the A-line dress that was on the manikin display by the window. The manager herself assisted me. In my experience of this store, they never ran out of sizes for my size and mind you, the sizes for ZARA are not your standard size so I suggest going in to fit them in. The staff is always seemingly busy, but when you need them, always go your way to ask them for help and they will find a way to help you find a person that is available to assist you. The staff is never pushy either, which I love about shopping in a store. Best part is? Merchandise looks really fancy but the price is really affordable for the young working generation. I came into men's Zara looking for an outfit for my dad's birthday. That being said, I really had no idea how to dress a 60 year old man as opposed to my guy friends. After a couple minutes of aimless confusion, this worker Clinton started helping me with my search. Usually I don't really like being bothered while shopping, but he was actually very casual and just a cool person to talk to. He was really helpful in finding an age-appropriate outfit for my dad and didn't make me feel uncomfortable or awkward in the entire process like other sales associates. Generally store clerks are too much/trying way too hard to get commission, so I really appreciated the way he went about helping me. And my dad really liked the outfit, even though the waist size of the pants suit was a little too big. read more

I shop at zara often and I have been to many branches all over the world some were n better and some were worse this location is one of the bad ones eating time is just to much you can wait for ages to try go in to the dressing room and then some more at the cashier line. First you wait in line 30 minutes to return a shirt that was a gift that is too large. You've picked out a shirt that you think will fit. After 30 minutes you get to the front of the checkout. The lady tells you you can't exchange that shirt because the one you want to purchase has a different code. The codes have to exactly match. I said, OK, find me a shirt with the same code. She says we don't have that shirt anymore. And I can't get a credit because I don't have a receipt.Ridiculous. Will never shop here again. read more

I LOVE ZARA and am so glad they opened this store closer to me versus going all the way to San Francisco!! I love their clothes and this store I find very clean compared to their other locations. Also Zara is great because you can return online purchases in store. The clothing can vary in sizes which sucks because you always have to try on. I range from being a medium to an extra small in here. Sizes are never consistent in the clothing here. My only complaint with this store is that the sales associate aren't very knowledgeable on their clothing. Every time I come here I have a question for what I'm looking for and they seem lost. I always end up having to look on my own. For example I asked for what jumpsuits you have and they don't really know off the top of their head and another time I asked for high waisted jeans and showed me like 5 pairs that weren't. read more

I think Zara is a great store, you can get a great outfit, feel put-together and feel good about the prices. Unlike H&M & Forever 21, there fabric choices provide longevity and can withstand dry cleaning and even some washes in cold. They happen to also be where I shop for my 5 yr old daughter, I can always find the most stylish and unique outfits for her. I had a wonderful experience a couple evenings ago, running late, 20 minutes before closing. I could see the sales associates begin closing procedures. I was flustered because I could tell they nailed it with there summer inventory and didn't want to miss out on any pieces. The charismatic Men's manager, Eric, told me to relax and take my time, I could peruse and they would allow me to stay and shop! How awesome is that! So happy! I ended up buying a bunch of stuff. I know I wouldn't have been as happy if Esteban and Amanda didn't help me edit and offer there stylish opinions. Also want to give a shout - out to Hector and Alyssa. Every single time I went in this store and had to do a return he would be so disrespectful I guess the cashiers have to have manager approval before so he'd have to come and type his code for every time which held up the line and made me feel ashamed of doing returns and he would look at me with his huge owl evil satan eyes and the cashiers would always apologies and rush to finish and clean up the boxes and hang up the clothes while doing the returns which sped up the time so greatly. The store is not bad I've noticed the people on the floor are always in a rush to do go backs and fold the tables but MANY customers are trash people that yank a shirt or pant from the bottom and drop everything and mess everything up after it was clearly folded by someone which I find very disrespectful every time I shop I make sure I handle the stacks with care since I've worked at other shopping stores in the past its COMMON SENSE AND COURTESY people are disgusting. Another experience in the fitting rooms is noticing how people are so awful taking in 100's of items and leaving them all on the bench or floor instead of at least hanging up the items and handing them to the fitting room associate which makes them have to hold the line and go in that room and pick up everything off the floor creating a longer process and having a mountain of clothes on there folding table that's so sad for them they continuously do that for almost every shopper and I stared at a guy once that did that and he whispered what? that's there job to fix it... Technically yes, but as I said before its about helping out another human and being kind and not a trashy entitled person. I would give ZERO STAR if I could. Visiting San Jose for a wedding and found out the top I bought at Zara last night came with broken zipper. Told the cashier, the assistant manager came out rudely argue with me then bringing out the manager Julia who argue with me again and told me to call customer service and deal with it??!!!
