After a fun day hitting a car museum and shopping at Ollie's, I was ready to get some dinner and head back to the hotel. One place that I wanted to visit was Zaxby's. I had never been there before. It has salads and wings. Both make me happy. I did a search and drove to this location. I hit the drive-thru. I got a competent woman on the other end. I ordered the following items: - Traditional wings (10) with barbeque sauce - Cobb salad with grilled chicken and light vinaigrette I pulled up to the window and paid with a credit card. All was good. Moments later, I got my food in a plastic bag. I thanked the woman and drove back to my hotel room to eat. I started with the wings. I should have ordered the wings and that's it. Ten of them was more than enough for dinner. The barbeque sauce was yummy and each wing was thoroughly coated with it. The wings were delicious. I got more flats than drums. I should have got six wings with the salad. The wings come with ranch. Instead, I ate a bit of my cobb salad and saved the rest for the following day. The cobb salad with grilled chicken was huge. It came with buttered toast. The salad was fresh with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, bacon, and an hard-boiled egg. The grilled chicken was warm and juicy. I loved this salad. I simply bought way too much food. I got a lot of vinaigrette. I saved a packet for future salad purchases and it all worked out. It's yummy. I'm a fan of Zaxby's. It's was a great introduction to the chain. (314)

Ok. My first time at a Zaxby's. It was not busy inside, but the drive-through and online orders were slamming. I was standing in line waiting for my order to be taken, and an employee finally acknowledged me and let me know she'd be with me soon. Someone came and took my order and I paid. As I said, it wasn't busy inside, so I got a good look around. 3 employees were on a break, 2 outside smoking, and one inside sitting in a booth on her phone. As for the interior, it was nice. Plenty of booths. Saw one family enjoying their food. I finally get my food, and to my surprise, it was in a go container and bag. I had planned on eating there, so I expected a tray with my food on it. I guess it was a hint to take it with me. Again,as I said, it was my first time in a Zaxby's. As I was leaving, I looked at the families table, and they were also served in to go containers. So my guess is that's how you get your food. I haven't eaten it yet, but it looks good. I may or may not be back. Update: I ate the salad but wasn't completely satisfied with it. The lettuce was wilted, my tomatoes were sore, and I got one piece of fried onion. And for what this salad cost, the amount is definitely short-changed. I may or may not be back, but I know that I won't be ordering a salad. I still hold on the 3 stars.

The chicken fingers smelled old. The wings were decent. The dinning area and restroom needed some immediate attention. Looked like they haven't been cleaned in ages. The men's restroom smelled as if someone recently smoked a blunt inside. I was not impressed at this location, at all.

So this is probably my favorite steakhouse in town. For my first meal, I had the triple chicken children's sandwiches (i think they're called knobblerz): REAL GOOD. But on another note, white cheddar bites? It's no Wisconsin - but marinara? Zaxbys knows what

The interior is very inviting, and I thought it was a great place to spend the evening. We ordered a shrimp taco, a fish taco, carnitas, and pollo rojo, along with the Bakersfield margaritas. The food came out pretty quickly, even though I was worried the restaurant was too busy that day. The tacos were delicious more like gourmet tacos than street-style tacos but they were fresh and flavorful nonetheless. But the Bakersfield margaritas were the star of the evening. We got a pitcher to share, and they were easily some of the best margaritas in the city.

I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised. The guacamole and chips were the standout of the meal. The guacamole was incredibly fresh, packed with flavor, and served alongside warm, freshly made tortilla chips that were hard to stop eating. We also ordered the esquites, since I'm a huge fan of authentic elote preparado. The flavors were delicious and well-balanced. My only suggestion would be to serve the esquites warm, I promise it truly takes the dish to another level. As for the tacos, the presentation was beautiful. The Al Pastor tacos looked fantastic, but they leaned a little too sweet for my taste and were missing some of the bold, smoky flavors I associate with traditional Al Pastor, like guajillo chiles, oregano, and other aromatic spices. On the other hand, the chicken tacos were excellent. They were juicy, well-seasoned, and flavorful enough to shine without needing much from the toppings. To top it all off, our server was friendly, attentive, and helped make the entire experience enjoyable. Overall, Bakersfield exceeded my expectations. While it may not replace the authentic taco shops of the Southwest, it's definitely a solid choice in Nashville, especially if you're craving flavorful Mexican-inspired food before a night out.

Whiskey River Saloon came up when we Googled places with mechanical bulls--which is honestly just as fun to watch as it is to ride. Drinks-wise, they have cocktails, beer, and seltzers. Prices felt about average for Broadway. I tried the "Cowboy Juice," which is a mix of Captain Morgan, melon liqueur, Malibu, pineapple juice, and sour mix--sweet and dangerously easy to drink. It was our first time visiting, and we weren't sure where to go. The security guard at the main door was very helpful and pointed us in the right direction. However, when we got upstairs, it was a different story. There was no one there to give us any direction, and we didn't see a sign stating whether we could seat ourselves. The place was a bit busy, but there was a section with about six empty tables. We chose to sit there so we could be near the fan since it was very humid yesterday. No one acknowledged that we had been seated, so when a waiter walked by to clear a table, I asked if it was okay for us to seat ourselves. He said yes, handed us menus, and walked away. No problem--I could tell it was busy and that he was running around, so I took no offense to him walking off. We waited about 10-15 minutes. No one offered us water or came over to greet us. The same waiter I had spoken to returned to our table carrying an empty pitcher, and I greeted him. In response, I got, "You know what you want?" I repeated my greeting, and he repeated his question. Mind you, he never introduced himself, so I have no clue what his name is. The only conversation we had before that was when he confirmed that we could seat ourselves. While I understand being overwhelmed or tired, I can't understand being met with such a rude disposition when I had done nothing to warrant that response. Needless to say, I didn't want someone who found greeting me to be an impossible task handling my food, so we left. He couldn't have cared less that we were leaving. He grabbed his pitcher and walked away before we did. They could have really good food and drinks, but I'll never know. My hope is that this was a one-off situation, but something tells me it's not. There's a bar on the first and fourth floors. The first floor is pretty open with minimal seating, so I'm assuming it's meant for dancing. They also have a live band set up on that floor. Lastly, thank you to the security guard. He was a tall guy with braids, and despite our brief interaction, he was the only person who made us feel welcome. Outside of that interaction, this place was disappointing.
