Update... To be fair to Zaxby's... Zaxby's refunded, in full, the money spent on our dinner that night. Zaxby's does listen, at least in New Albany, In. I honestly feel like I have given this Zaxby's multiple opportunities to just simply do their job. My family and I go there, order from there all the time. The food and service go from 1 star to 5 stars. It's a roller coaster. Today, I ordered curbside at 6:38pm. I get to Zaxby's at 6:45pm. Mine was simple. 2 grilled chicken zalads, and chicken fajita quesadilla. I sat at my curbside position until 6:55. I decide to go in, After I watch more than 10 cars order in drive thru and pull away with their order. My order is literally sitting on the counter with name. It had probably set there for 10 or more minutes. No one was going to bring it to me. Get this, when I get there, no one was at the counter ordering food. No one was even up there. Ok, so they ignored my order on the counter. I like the food and it wasn't terrible today. The Zalads have been a little short on content, but I've complained about with management before. They continue to charge more for less of the ingredients. read more

10 star experience! Our family of 12 (including 8 kids) went in for dinner last night. Each of us enjoyed our fresh tasty food. But the wow was the customer service. Dede and her manager (sorry I didn't get his name) were over the top amazing. They made ordering for 12 people feel like a breeze! In addition to awesome service, they get a 10 for cleanliness too! This was by far the best experience we've ever had at a Zaxbys, and we eat Zaxbys often. I've eaten there 3 times and got sick 2 of those times. First time I thought maybe I had gotten a stomach bug but when I got the same grilled chicken salad a second time and got sick I realized that it was food poisoning. Zaxby's has perfected all aspects of fast-food. Not only was the food done within 5 minutes of ordering, so that completes the fast part, the food was the best fast food I have ever had in my life. And the inside has a great ambiance to it as well. Not only that but everything but the drinks were Zaxby's brand. Even the ketchup was Zaxby's ketchup. Living up north, we don't have Zaxby's so it felt particularly nostalgic to stop for lunch in between activities our last full day in town. Not sure if we picked the wrong location or if distance made our hearts fonder, but it wasn't a great experience. Part of the issue seemed to be that of the only two folks up front, one of them was being asked to run the register alone on her first day. We were overcharged for each of our orders and had to go back and forth with the staff trying to get everything sorted. When we finally got our food, it just didn't live up to what we remembered. We had the big snak plate, loaded fries, and fried pickles with their peach tea. I know it's just fast food so we shrugged it off, but still a bummer. read more

If I had to pick my favorite fast food restaurant ever, it's going to be Zaxby's. Chick-Fil-A is a close second but the chicken at Zaxby's is better in my opinion. The fries are wonderful too as long as they are hot and there is a lot of seasoning on them. I would come here during my lunch breaks at work when I used to live in New Albany. The food was always hot, fresh, and delicious. It's the best place to go for lunch after church on Sunday (or any other day of the week). I miss it and wish my current town had one. I consider this take-out dining experience as a self-inflicted wound - like I stepped on a rake or slammed my groin into a sidewalk bollard while looking at my iphone. Yep...this one's on me. What, you ask, did I do that was so dumb? I ordered chicken wings at Zaxby's and expected them to be good. First, the good: I impulsively asked my wife if she wanted to order some chicken wings for dinner. We both agreed that it's been a while since we had chicken wings and boy, did they sound good. I used the Zaxby's iPhone app. Super easy. When I arrived at Zaxby's, I hopped out of my car, grabbed the bag with my name on it, and was back in my car in under 60 seconds. I could feel the heat so I was confident the wings were gonna be fresh and hot. Now, the not-so-good: My wife and I each ordered 15 traditional wings. Mine tossed in Tongue Torch sauce and her's tossed in Barbecue sauce. We also each ordered a side of cole slaw. The wings were ridiculously tiny! Not just a few small wings - they were all small! I thought 15 wings would be a filling serving, but I could've eaten 30 or 40 of these tiny morsels. My wife ordered 15 wings with the intention of saving some for lunch tomorrow. Not so fast, sweetie! She, too, ate them all and agreed that they were super small. The Tongue Torch sauce is not hot at all. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that they were accidentally tossed in Mild sauce. My wife remarked that some of her wings were dry. The cole slaw portions - here's that "theme" again - were super small. Two tiny portions of dipping sauce for each 15 wing order didn't go nearly far enough - the perils of ordering to-go food. All-in, the 30 traditional wings and cole slaw sides were just over $41.00 and not a good value at all. Other menu items might prove otherwise, but stay away from the traditional wings unless you want to be very disappointed. Why I thought it would be a good idea to order traditional chicken wings from a fast food place is still a mystery to me. Total fail. Next time we'll hit up Cluckers or Roosters. read more

we had to visit the funeral home in New Albany and when we left there we stopped at Zaxby's for dinner. The line in the drive through was very long so we anticipated a wait. We actually went into the restaurant. There were a couple of people waiting for their food and the girl at the counter took our order right away. We ordered a house salad and a chicken tenders dinner. My salad was fresh and plentiful, came with grilled chicken (you can get fried), Lettuce, cucumbers, cheese, tomatoes, fried onion crisps (there were not many of those on the salad and I like a crunch to my salad so was a bit disappointed. It did not take long for our order to come out. Everything was hot and fresh. Not too many folks eating inside the restaurant so that was nice. We were given plenty of condiments and enjoyed the meal. Plenty of parking but it is a bit difficult to get to the restaurant off of Charlestown Road, but not horrible. I would go back. Sooo, felt a little like I was cheating on chic-fila. I wanted some chicken strips and stopped in. I love me some crinkle fries and they have some good ones. Cooked to perfection. The strips are a nice size and have a nice coating. Taste pretty good. I'd say they are my 2nd favorite fast food chicken. Great service poor quality. I was greeted upon entering and since no one else was there started a conversation with the cashier. We discussed their menu offerings and their sauce flavors. After our conversation, I ordered 2 different sandwich meals, (I had a BOGO coupon). Then I looked around and noticed some pretty comical pictures on the walls and clean floors and tables - a big plus from my perspective. The ambiance is very casual - what you would expect at a quick service restaurant. On to the meat - literally. I judge a chicken finger based on crispiness, tenderness, and flavor. Zaxby's fails in all three areas. The soggy excuse for fried chicken I received was disappointing at best and closer to appalling. The tenderness of the chicken is a redeeming quality, but fails to impress in comparison to other chicken restaurants. It was what I call, "average" The flavor was fine, not impressed, not disappointed. The sauces, on the other hand were sub par. I tasted the nuclear, the insane and the ranch. The nuclear was too sweet to be considered a buffalo sauce. I thought I was eating candy with a kick. Sadly, hot tamales are probably hotter than the nuclear. That brings me to the insane. This sauce is chili powder overload. I love chili because it combines a slew of flavors. Chili powder alone is not tasty. Zaxby's insane sauce is not tasty. Their ranch is what one would expect to receive from a QSR. One other disappointing aspect is that the chicken finger are not tossed in a sauce. The sauce is poured onto them. My sandwich was a soggy mess as it had the nuclear sauce and ranch poured onto it. It was overflowing from the sides. Personally, I'm not a fan of getting my fingers dirty so this was a huge issue for me. (I realize most people do not have this problem). Be warned, the sandwiches are messy. Definitely not something you can eat while you drive. The fries are nothing to write home about. Crinkle cut fries, presumably frozen and heated in a fryer. They too lacked a crispy texture, like the chicken. They were in need of a dipping sauce or some salt as they were pretty bland. I won't be back here. Chicken sandwiches at other restaurants are much better for the same price. I paid about $7.50 for the sandwich, fries, and a drink. Louisville is filled with restaurants that do fried chicken better for less. Happy Dining! read more

We stopped by about 8:00 on Friday night. I went to use bathroom and was told it was being cleaned. Okay no problem. Ordered our food and while waiting the person came out that was "cleaning" it. It looked like there had been a water leak. I mean there was standing water of 1/2 inch on the floor and hallway. Food was good we had the Cobb salad with grilled chicken. The drink dispenser was out of our first THREE selections so I settled for iced tea. However this restaurant is not clean, the rug in front of counter is frayed and it an accident waiting to happen. When we were about to leave a worker came out and finally wiped tables and took out trash. Most Zaxbys are clean this one is not. Today at this location the staff was very unaccommodating to my sons needs. I was told it is not on our menu this way. Had a dope futuristic Coke machine complete with touch screen and 89 different drink possibilities - including the small, crunchy ice chips that hospitals have. I was very disappointed at the service I got while I was giving my order the manager (Selena) was being very rude acting like the girl didn't know what she was doing. She also was standing around ordering people around while she just stood there and did nothing. If I was a worker there I would quit because I couldn't have someone yelling and cussing at me the whole time I tried to do my job.
