I took my truck in to the neighborhood auto shop for a part replacement where I diagnosed the problem and brought them the part. Zeagler said if I brought my truck in Wednesday I could get it back on Thursday. It is now Saturday morning and I have not gotten one call or update from Zeagler's. I called 5-6 times on Friday but the number was busy. They never quoted me on a price and will have my truck for at least 5 days to fix an issue that should take about 30 mins. read more

Mr. Zeagler is honest, knowledgeable, reliable and fair. He will find the real source of your problem and fix it right. He never upsells you for more service than you need. Zeagler's shop is extremely clean and his employees are too. My car never has grease or dirt left behind after a service. When I experienced car trouble I called Zeagler's after my iPhone Siri identified this business in the Rosewood, Columbia area and the previous reviews were positive. I was accommodated on the day I called and the service could not have been better. The Zeaglers are honest, dependable, trustworthy, and very competent! My car was returned to me within hours and my anxiety was totally relieved! I am from Pittsburgh and arrived in Columbia just last week. Huge Labor mistakes were made on my vehicle. I've had many friends have their car serviced at Zeaglers and they only mention great experiences. This site is littered with 5 star reviews. They are known by the locals as a great auto repair shop and thats why I chose to take my '92 Jeep wrangler there, my Uncle's favorite material item with a lot of sentimental value to make some repairs. The repairs to rear brake valves and resurfacing of brake pads are spot on. The most infuriating part of the repair is the hanging wire from the steering column that makes me think someone tried to hotwire my car. The ignition was changed without my notice or mention on the invoice, incorrectly cut, and now the key is stuck in the ignition. This caused a dash light to stay on. Now my battery is dead. When I called the office immediately upon realizing the issues at about 5:15pm on Friday the auto mechanic told me he couldn't fix it until Monday or Tuesday. I planned the beginning of my week with interviews for internships and other jobs and now that will entail a lot of walking. Minor inconvenience but ill be sweating through my shirt when I get to each office. I paid for a service that is not being fulfilled. I'm appalled by the labor mistakes made and not pleased with the customer service I received Friday afternoon. Please fix this when you open on Monday Zeaglers and I'll completely change this review. read more

What can I not say about these people? They are good ole down to earth people that do honest work. They're very knowledgable and work quickly. They always give a fair price and stand by their work. I had radiator issues once and after I got it replaced my car was still overheating. They gave me a free thermostat and had my car back to me within hours. I have been taking my cars to Zeagler for years. They are trust worthy and the quality of work is excellent!

They are a bit pricey but after calling them about their charges, the owner told me they "go strictly by the book." Interpretation: standard rates and hours for each repair as written by some mechanical guideline. The work was done quickly (so I got the bad end of that book. I paid for more hours than actual time spent). What really put the icing on the cake was how I witnessed them drive a business man to and from his destination, while I, as an older white woman from out of state had to find a taxi (1.5 hrs of waiting and $20 later, I got home) and then a bus back to the shop 6 miles from where I am staying (walking 2 miles of that stint in very cold weather). I stick out like a sore thumb in this area, but I found out the people on the bus were friendly regardless of our color differences (not so much where I live). Frankly, as much money as I was spending there and them knowing my situation, they could have driven me home for my own safety. Furthermore, I do not like dealing with the owner's wife, who acts like I'm imposing on her time. I cringe having to deal with her. I still have one more repair but I think I can live without it being done here. I don't have the heart to return to endure the smells of cat litter box, freshly pooped, in the waiting area after my tangle with the "transportation" issues. They do decent work, so I think you can rest assured about your repairs, but no one is perfect, and they have a high volume of cars to repair, so speed is necessary. By the defensive reaction of the owner after telling him about my transportation issues, I think they pride themselves on their reputation and will try to honor all their repairs, but I can't know that for sure. I live out of state and and can only cross my fingers, but the repairs I had are a necessary evil since we have a long drive home. Addendum: it's been 5 months and we are happy with the repairs. The way this place runs business is awful!! We dropped off our car on a Monday. Asked them to take a look at it and to please give us a call once they know what's wrong with it so we can decide if we want it fixed there or not. They said they usually just fix things that are "no big deal" but if it's a major issue then they will call. We told them we wanted to be notified regardless of how small. We heard nothing from them all week and then we finally called them on Friday (we were hoping to have it back before the weekend). They answer to say that his car is ready and it cost $400!!! 1. They did not call and let us know what was wrong before fixing and just expected us to pay. 2. We had to call them just to find out that it was ready! No one ever let us know anything. I'm glad they think $400 is "no big deal" but they don't know people's finances and can't just go ahead and decide to spend your money!! We will NEVER go here again!! read more

Terrible service. The owner was quite rude and seemed to be having a bad day for some reason. My vehicle is still having the same issue for which it was brought in for while the man behind the counter told me, in a nice way, to jump off a bridge. I will never bring my vehicle here again and will advise others to also not bring there cars to this garage. Very poor experience. I wish I could give zero stars. read more

My son is a student at the University of South Carolina. During a busy school week, his car began to break down. He needed it fixed fast and affordably. I found Zeagler on Yelp, and he dropped it off hoping for the best. And, we got the best. Excellent service, great communication, done fast, done right, and affordably priced. Ralph Zeagler and his team have been looking after our sorry cars for at least 10 years. He runs a clean, serious workshop. He likes to get car back to you the same day. He is laconic and amusing.
