I've been to this West Seattle location, and also another location in North Seattle... and I was disappointed both times. A lot of people rave about this place. I am not among them. For starters, it is very expensive. I am ok spending money on a quality pizza - this isn't quality. The crust is thick and very chewy. Almost like chewing rubber. The only thing that made me give this 2 stars instead of 1 is that their toppings are decent. I will definitely never pay for their pizza again. But if someone else bought it and I had nothing else to eat, I'd eat it, because it's basically edible. read more

This is one of my favorite pizza places in West Seattle. I've been here several times with my wife, and we've enjoyed the service and food every time. Their crust isn't anything special but the pizza recipes are amazing. The Grand Salami is probably hands down one of the best combinations of flavors I've tasted on pizza. After you've had provolone cheese instead of mozzarella on pizza, it's hard to go back. I've introduced the Grand Salami to about 10 different friends, and each one has loved it. This is also the first time I've liked chicken on pizza (buffalo chicken pizza) and the ranch base is genius! Very tasty. I've eaten here a few times mostly at lunch. I went to grab a slice later in the day last week and was told that they only do that until 2pm. Great, I can understand. Today, Saturday, I was thinking I wanted pizza. I checked the website. on the first page, it listed what slices were available. I took the time to head over there only to find staff who were rather rude when I questioned where the slices were. They don't offer them on their website and the information they list is wrong. Three stars only for the pizza. The service is awful. I've waited 30 minutes for my pizza in a near-empty restaurant. And before you think I'm one of "those" people, know that I did work pizza for three years, so my opinion is valid. Don't expect your water to be refilled, not even once, and don't expect your check to come in a timely manner. In fact, just assume your $3 coke isn't refillable, because you can never seem to find your waitress to refill it. The Seahawks were once under suspicion of pumping artificial noise into the stadium. I think the Seahawks were innocent but Zeek's is guilty! It always sounds like a train station in here, even when it's empty. The good? When the check comes, your medium pizza is only $22! Wait, that's bad too. At least the service is so terrible that you're not at all inclined to tip (and I love to tip) so that saves you a bit. But, the Puget Pounder is really, really good. I love it with roasted garlic. It's delicious, IMHO, but I just can't bring myself to pay that much for such awful ambiance. read more

Hit or miss, and the misses are way off. I live really close, and was drooling at the notion of a revitalization of our off-the-beaten-path neighborhood. That corner, which was kind of a haven for sketchy losers, is now a nice place for families and late night sinners alike. Zeek's is a great addition, but their management is either inexperienced or uninterested in pleasing customers. First, the good things. When they do well, they do great. Their pizza is great and the good portion of their staff is cool and responsive. Two of four times there I had a great meal and a good time. When it's bad, though, it's terrible. The problem is teenagers. They hire pretty girls and young guys to serve and prepare the food, respectively. The former asks for your preferences, but the latter fail to deliver and the former don't double-check. There's nothing else to say about this. The problem is the staff, because the average age of the staff isn't old enough to buy whiskey in a bar (or pretty close to that). I have an acquaintance who works at another successful pizza shop in West Seattle who mentioned that even their adult staff members have tried and failed to succeed at his place. Looks like Zeek's didn't do much reference checking, because when I asked about the problem he had with their cooks, for example, his reply was "They were terrible. No common sense." Bottom Line: If you want a sure thing, go somewhere else. This place is too iffy to drop a bunch of money or risk trying to impress a pretty girl on your first date. It's a great thing having a big restaurant on the south end of the district, but this franchise manager is a clown. read more

Waited over 50 mins for 2 mini pizzas!! There were 3 other tables in the whole entire place. Finally asked about our order since our server avoided our table and were told that they had gotten burnt and they had to be remade!! Horrible service!! Won't be coming back here! Seattleites seem to have some really strong opinions about Zeek's. I, for one, am a fan. I was really surprised and excited when I heard there would be a one opening a few blocks from my place. We ordered take out the second weekend it was open. I think it was a Saturday evening around 6 and the wait was 45 minutes. Later that night I heard the wait for take out was twice as long and the delivery even longer. I don't think I would step foot in here to eat inside on a Friday or Saturday night, it's always packed and there are a ton of families. My only other complaint is that its right next to my bus stop, so I have to smell delicious pizza when I'm walking home on an empty stomach. Anyways, I really like the pizza here. They have a ton of vegetarian options, which is good since my husband is vegetarian. We usually get the tree hugger which is loaded down with almost every veggie you could imagine. Also, they will let you do a half and half with some of their pizzas so I can still get some meat if I'm splitting a pie with my hubby. Their crust has to be one of my favorites. It's not too thick but still has a crispy outside and a perfectly chewy soft inside. We actually had to scale back on our Zeek's consumption because I'm pretty sure we ate there 3 times in 2 weeks. It's pizza; it's good. Crust seems like a spring water dough? Back in Florida we have Mellow Mushroom which has a similar crust. Pretty good if you like a crispy bottom but chewy outer crust. Out of the 5 times we've eaten there, we've been happy with what we've gotten. The chèvre roast is our favorite. Great pizza. They have a great selection of ingredients, and their offer a great set of preselected combinations, 14 meat and 12 veggie! Just check the menu for yourself. My fav is the Dragon. Great service... When I asked for a half-and-half combo, they pointed out that certain combinations don't work because of different baking times. While having a few beers at Beveridge Place Pub my girlfriend and I wanted something for dinner. I called Zeeks (two doors down,) and ordered a medium Texas Leaguer, chicken, red onions and fresh cilantro layered over mozzarella, barbecue sauce and an olive oil glaze. Was told that I would be ready in 20 minutes (Friday at 8pm,) and walked over and it was waiting for me. They gave us plates, napkins and Parmesan for our little dinner. The pizza was really good, as always, nice flavor with the BBQ sauce and the crust is crunchy and chewy at the same time. Great job! read more

Zeeks Pizza is a favorite of mine. Firstly, the pizza is fantastic. The dough is out of this world. I am a huge pepperoni fan, and the ultimate pepperoni is one of the best I've ever tasted. My spouse is a big fan of the frog belly pizza. Secondly, the wait staff is very friendly and helpful. The décor is warm, and for TV nuts, there is one and it's on, but the sound is muted. For some wonderful reason, I don't often pay when I go to Zeeks, but I think the prices are reasonable. There is parking in the back, but it's often full. If you are forced to hunt for parking, you will be rewarded with a fine meal. They have beer and wine, but not being a frequent drinker, I can't vouch for the selection. read more

Zeeks holds the current title for best pizza in West Seattle. Crust is a great mix of doughy and crunchy--hard to perfect without undercooking. Toppings are fresh, and they are happy to make pizzas to order. Pies are well-sized, and it may make more sense to get a bigger one and split it than 2 smaller ones. Beer selection is good, and even sending a bad one bad is OK with staff. Nice place to spend some time after/before exploring West Seattle. Parking lot in back is free, but a bit tight for larger cars and SUVs. Can get tight towards the evening-time, so it might make sense to look for street parking and walk a block. I'm not sure about their dog policy for the patio. Would love to return with our dog one sunny Sunday afternoon. Will def return. read more

If you are in Seattle, check out this place!! I went to the one in West Seattle, it was down the street from my friend's house. Not only were the employees attentive, but our very cute waiter went above and beyond to make sure we were content! The pizza was delicious the night we ordered it and the next day too!!! I would recommend for sure and I will be going again when I come back for a visit. We got the Howser and it was YUMMY! It is also a very family friendly restaurant for those that have kids. Recently went to Zeek's for the first time with my son. We ordered the John Candy and the Chevre Roast with a Wild Greens Salad. The half salad was great - perfect amount of dressing and plenty of gorgonzola and cashews. Our waiter was kind enough to tell us that the kitchen over did our pizza by a couple minutes. Rather than trying to get away with it, he just told us that our pizza was being remade but offered to let us have the over done one. The overdone one wasn't that bad and we actually took it home. The thing I like best about the pizza itself was the crust. It was like awesome bread. I actually ate the crust - which is uncharacteristic for me. Pretty good 'fancy' pizza. Pizza can't be judged against a single ideal. Too many people only like thin or thick crusts and many judge mainly by the weight of the toppings. For me, too much is lost when the pie is only available for deliver rather than eat in, so Pagliacci's gets a downgrade for its limited facilities compared to Zeeks although its toppings are more imaginative. This pizza is very well suited for those who judge pizza for the flavor and type of crust they like. It has a medium thin crust, 1/8 to 1/4 inch where the toppings are sprinkled but with an 1 inch, circumferential, uncovered rim that rises to a thickness of 1/2 to 3/4 inch. It features high quality, fresh, recently cut, toppings as a condiment to the dense, flavorful bread rather than using the bread solely as a vehicle for the meat and cheese. As others have said, if you want a solid 1/2 inch cover of toppings congealed with a cement of melted cheese, this will not please you. The salad choices also push this ahead of Pagliacci's for me. Both the Greek and the chop have 1 inch, irregular chunks of fresh vegetables with fresh greens and a pleasant dressing. I will admit that the thing that clearly tips the balance to dining in at Zeeks is the chocolate chip cookie sundae. It is baked in a 6 inch cast iron skillet and is 1/2 inch thick. Over 4-5 samples, there has been a nice upper crust and a variably done bottom half, which has never been dry but is occasionally gooey. This is served hot from the oven, topped with 2 small scoops of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of chocolate sauce. It is worth a trip by itself. The ample number of servers here are partway between professional and part time in their competence but always try to be helpful. The atmosphere is "big box" rather than elegant or cozy and I keep hoping I will remember to bring a seat cushion. Wine choices by the glass include 4-5 reds and the same number of whites with good variability. The cheapest wine here is still very drinkable but not memorable. It is $7 a glass and is 4-5 oz. Others range to $9. A house wine is discounted for happy hour M-F as are the salads. Parking behind the store is ample except at rush hour. The prices reflect the location at the California/Fauntleroy junction. read more

I went to Zeeks for the first time a couple months back, I went with my friend and her family so there was about 6 of us. The place doesn't close until 10 or 11 something like that we enter around 8pm and there was only 1 guy working. Well when we enter a couple more parties started to come in, and...you guessed it! we ended up waiting forever for service! water wasn't being refilled, the guy take forever to get to us, we wanted to order more but he just couldn't find the time to come over to our table, plus the pizza take quite sometimes to come out, so we just give up and left. I love Zeek's. Their Forager pizza is perfect, in my book. I love the saltiness of the proscuitto paired with the roasted red pepper and mushrooms. My husband is dedicated to the Texas Leager. I appreciate that cheese is more understated on their pizzas, and is almost just a glue to hold together the other toppings. We probably order delivery from this West Seattle location about every other week. Its always timely, hot and delicious. I've only eaten in the actual restaurant a few times, and the experience was neither here nor there. I'd say the downside to Zeek's is that its a little pricey (but worth it to us because we truly, truly love the flavor), and while there is a huge variety of options for your pizza, there is not much else on the menu besides pizza. The last three times I've order pizza from this place, it has been either super late (well over an hour) or it has been burnt. The first time was after an hour of waiting they called and said in another 15 minutes it would be there, sorry "it'll be piping hot when it gets there though, really sorry." It was almost cold... I like that they have beer on tap so I can pound a pint or two while I wait for my pie. Most carry out places don't have a bar so that has been a deciding factor in the past. Zeeks is over priced for what you get. Their pizzas aren't bad by any means, but there are much better places. I like a big rich pizza covered in toppings, sauce, and cheese, but not too doughy. Zeeks has a decent dough, but they lack in the amount of toppings they give you, and barely any sauce. Thin sauce, thin cheese, thin on toppings, heavy on price. read more

I've become a fan of the John Candy; tonight's instance was a good one. Pepperoni, Italian sausage, and Canadian Bacon (hence the name), piping hot, crust neither crispy nor soggy, nicely cut, and just a slather of sauce, not so much it gets everywhere. Waitstaff was attentive without being obtrusive. Good selection of brewski on tap, everything from PBR to Stella.
