The prices are wrong on their menu and when I asked, they had no reply other than they just changed their prices. Even if this happens, I've never paid $15 for just a shawarma sandwich at a basic spot. No sides or anything. The pattata or whatever they call it had literally one piece of meat. The bowls are an extra $3 and they are literally plain lettuce, plain rice, and protein. The tabbouleh was so salty I could not eat it and I love salt. My dear bride loves chicken gizzards and she mentioned she had the craves. So guess where I am six miles out of my way to get her an order??? Also, it is national gyro day, so why not get one of those too??? I tried ordering online but their crappy system said it wouldn't play nice with my damn iPhone. So I just ordered the old fashioned way! Since most of their stuff is made to order and there were two cars in front of me...sigh! The one directly in front of me had to wait at some parking spot. They had me stay at the window. Nonetheless I still sat there for nearly 8 minutes after I paid up. Window personnel weren't too bad. Neither friendly but not curt either. When the food finally came out, a fork, some napkins, two hot sauce packets and 4 ketchup packets were included...ok Gizzards here not anywhere near as well prepared or flavorful as at their Hillsborough location. They're a bit undercooked and as a result not as flavorful. Half a pound of gizzards is enough for two easily. We still ate them however; still passable. Gyro wasn't too bad either. For $9 I'd certainly expect better however. Meat was fairly plentiful and well cooked. Amount of tomato was minimal and tzatziki a bit underwhelming in flavor; piita bread soft and fluffy. All in all, there's no way in Hades I'd drive six miles out of my way to eat here. None whatsoever!! If, however, I found myself in that area around lunch hour...maybe I'd stop in if I had a hankering for cheapish Mediterranean food. Maybe. But then again, maybe not. Excellent gyro! Large portion for the meal. Called ahead and placed an order for pickup. Took about 20 mins to pick up and when I arrived the food was ready to go. Ordering was simple and easy. Replaced the side of fries and upgraded to onion rings. Beware on the onion rings as they were super greasy, but they were very crunchy and tasted good. They included an extra green sauce which not sure what it was but it was delicious! They had a good thing going here, but they blew it. No more for me. They raised their menu prices. Just a basic gyro, no side, no drink, now costs $9.09 after tax. C'mon guys, that's the price they charge for a gyro at the overpriced FL State Fair! Plus, the service has gown downhill. I hit their drive-thru during non-peak hours, I was the only car in line, and it took a full 10 minutes to get my order. The owners here should note that less than 2 miles away, there is an EXCELLENT gyro joint on Park Blvd that has been around for 30+ years. They offer a gyro, a basket of fries, and a drink there for the same price that Zeko's thinks they somehow now deserve for JUST one lonely gyro sandwich. Wanted to update my 2012 review.They have raised their prices so we only stop in in once every 3 or 4 months or so,which is no doubt better for my cholesterol lol.The price increases are the reason I dropped my rating a star. Zekos still has the best gyros IMHO.Their deep fried mushrooms are huge,with a crunchy batter and juicy inside.Their "fries" are large potato wedges,that taste good and are included with the gyro meal.We also enjoy their wings and gizzards from time to time. So here's the P's & C's : Pros: Very generous portions Food is delicious,for what it is.Let's face it,it is'nt gourmet fare but Middle Eastern fast food. The call ahead and order option is useful,and essential IMO due to long wait times. I decided last minute to have a falafel sandwich before their closing. Since they have a drive through I thought, why not. Ordering was easy. The employees all wore a mask (thank you!) And after I paid they provided me with a number. I waited for about 5-8 minutes. The sandwich was delivered to my car. It was really fresh (never thought I would say that at a drive through 20 minutes before close). The wrap was actually thin and warm (not as thick as the image they have on there). Inside there was hot fresh veggies and a good amount of pickles and falafel. The sandwich was packed. The only thing I wish it had, was more tahini or hummus. I have only been here once, but my meal was excellent. I ordered the chicken kabob, and it may have been the best kabob I've ever eaten. Perfectly grilled and juicy! I asked for some tahini sauce to accompany the kabob and it was a great call. For my sides I did the rice (seasoned with parsley, saffron, and black pepper) and the chop chop salad. Honestly, this is probably some of the better "fast food" out there. I've had the Greek salad (yum), hummus (which is lacking the heavy amounts of garlic that you find sometimes), chicken and beef kabobs, shawerma, and the gyro. I would probably pass on the chicken kabobs because they were a little dry when I had them. Gyro (which I posted a pic of) was good, but there seems to be an excellent selection of those in Tampa Bay as it is. Shawerma was definitely a lighter option with the thinner pita. Also, the potato wedges are a hundred times better than generic fries. I've had different people take my order here and the dude from Jerusalem is probably my favorite one so far. It was slow so I could talk pita bread and baklava with him while making my order. The only reason I'm taking a star off is because of the specials. The board is in the corner, out of the direct line of sight. I only remember it's there once I've placed and paid for my order. Normally this wouldn't be -that- big of a deal, but I ended up ordering a gyro and a Greek salad separately when there was a combo (which saved a couple bucks) on the specials. The girl ringing me up didn't tell me about it (I think she might have gotten distracted trying to figure out if I was related to someone she knows), but a different employee who brought my food to me pointed out that I could have ordered the combo instead. C'mon guys! Find a way to make the specials a bit more visible! The dining area is nothing special. There are a few booths that can fit 4-6 people (depending how much personal space you want) and it's always been relatively clean when I've been in. I also tend to be there on off-hours, so I don't have to deal with the hassle of waiting too long for anything. So, nothing negative to comment on about that. One of these days I WILL try that baklava. I just need to remember not to stuff my face with lunch and save some room. read more

Amazing food! Great food here there are plenty of options for all types of diets. If you are vegetarian, vegan, or eat halal you will find what you need at Zekos. This is really a fine local place to get Greek, made to order, semi-fast food. You order at a counter and they bring the freshly prepared food to your table. The salads are made of truly fresh vegetables and the gyro is definitely stuffed with meat. Their fried mushrooms and fried veggies are crunchy and fresh and make a great side dish. The black beans and rice are well-seasoned and also delicious as a side. I visited with some picky friends who ordered salad without cucumber, sandwiches without onions, and various customizations. We also added lemon garlic sauce, tangy green sauce, and extra taziki. I have driven by here a few times and on a hard day of moving saw a sign for a special on Gyros and fries so pulled in to grab a couple with my wife. Glad we did, the amount of meat was overflowing, the flavor was amazing and the fries were 1/8 wedges of potatoes which was different.
