This place had been recommended to me for a very long time, and we finally got to go for lunch! It was right after they opened that we got there but quickly filled up as we dined. Every food item was superb, these were definitely some of the most authentic soup dumplings I've had in the States. Bursting (no pun intended) with flavor, fantastic texture, and steamed to perfection. The salad and bubble teas were also surprisingly good. The environment was very cozy, with steamer baskets everywhere as decoration. The only complaint I have is they only have one restroom stall for women, so there's almost always a line. Our server was attentive and friendly, and generally the vibe in the restaurant was very pleasant as well. Will definitely come again!
Highly recommended and delicious cuisines. The food is fresh, flavorful, and tasty with every bite. The service here was excellent... The atmosphere is perfect for any and every occasion. This is a must try and a 10 outta 10 for me. I think you'll enjoy it too.
We stopped by on a Sunday Afternoon and it was packed. I have been meaning to go for a while since I've heard good things. Our waitress was very kind, sociable, and attentive. She gave great food recommendations as well. The place is very modern and spacious. You order on the piece of paper and tally what you want similar to dim-sum What we ordered: - Thai Ice Tea: delicious!! You can't go wrong and they had these cute cups with the lids which are super convenient if you wanted to take it to-go! - Truffle Pork Soup dumpling: the star of the show! Great hint of truffle but not too overwhelming. Good flavor of the broth. Definitely try this and maybe their other soup dumplings! - Zen Chili Wontons: not too spicy (in case you were hesitant on spice) and one of my favorite dishes! Very delicious and would get again! - Pan fried Bao Bites: I love this concept and how you just eat it in one bite. The crisp pan fried bits paired well with the bao. Very delicious with dipping sauce - Shanghai Dumplings: my least favorite of everything we got. Very doughy and tasted like nothing/cardboard. Absolutely no flavor even with dipping sauce. I wouldn't get this again unfortunately, def not worth the money Overall very impressed with the food and my experience. I wouldn't definitely come back again and try more menu items! The prices are reasonable but if I lived closer, I would probably be a regular
We wanted to try something different and hubby chose Zen Dumpling. We had an hour wait to eat which was ok with no reservation on a Friday night. The restaurant was cute. They have a cool reservation checkin process that texts you when your table is ready and you can check the status of the number of tables ahead of you. I liked that they have an open view dumpling making part of the kitchen. Our waiter Tristan was awesome! He made some great recommendations. We enjoyed the beef pan fried dumplings, cabbage and pork dumplings, Mongolian beef and the Zha Jiang Noodles. The noodles were Tristan's recommendation and was absolutely delicious! This place was such a good experience. We tried a few items on the menu and we had the best server, Hayden. He was so knowledgeable about the menu, helped us pick out what to try and even made us a dip for our dumplings that was absolutely delicious! We had the chicken soup dumplings, cucumbers, scallion pancake, and bao buns and EVERYTHING was delicious. I will be thinking about this meal for a while and will definitely be back!
This establishment was amazing loved everything it has to offer. First and foremost my kudos to our server Adriano, he did an amazing job. He was very attentive and informative as to what was available in the menu and recommendations. The ambiance was great and family oriented place. Plenty of parking in the plaza so no worries on that. As far as the dumplings; they were delicious and freshly made there on the spot, of which you can view the behind the scenes and watch them make the Dumplings very impressive. The techniques and the quickness was a site to see. Everything was amazing from the Soup Dumplings to the Fried Rice and the Edamame. Great restaurant will definitely be back with family and friends to share what I experienced...
The vibe in here is immaculate, the dumpling lights on the ceiling to the food and service is great. Completely understand why it's so busy. Had the dumpling sampler and everything on it was delicious. The Mongolian beef was spicy but super flavorful so I didn't mind it and came with rice. The taro boba wasn't too sweet but amazing. Super creamy. Recommend

Zen Dumpling is a spot I keep coming back to. The dumplings are amazing, fresh, clearly made in-house, and some of the best I've had. You can really taste the quality in every bite. A great variety menu and specialty drinks. Beyond that, the rest of the menu is just as solid. Portions are well-sized and perfect for sharing, and the consistency has been excellent every time I've been. I just wish they took reservations ahead of time instead having to wait 30-45 minutes during dinner times. The vibe inside is great, casual and comfortable, lively, and a nice place to hang out. On top of that, prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Definitely a go-to if you're craving dumplings and more.
The food at Zen Dumpling was honestly the highlight of our visit. We ordered the black pepper shrimp with fried rice, and it was absolutely incredible. The black pepper shrimp was packed with flavor and honestly to die for. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up visiting another Zen Dumpling location later on just so we could order that same dish again! The prices were also very reasonable, especially for the quality and portions. Unfortunately, the service didn't match how great the food was. Our server only stopped by once to refill our drinks, and after that, it felt like we were either forgotten or completely ignored. We had a hard time getting his attention, which made the overall dining experience a little disappointing. That said, the food alone is enough to keep us coming back. We'll definitely be back for the black pepper shrimp, we'll just be hoping for a different server next time. With service that matches the food, this place would easily be one of our favorite restaurants.
Soup dumplings with pork are the best thing in the menu! I could eat 20 of them Mongolian beef was delicious sweet and savory a little crisp in it. Beef was tender. Fried rice- immediately no. If you are not a fried rice connoisseur you might love it. However, it needed more flavor maybe a mushroom soy and some accent. The server was nice enough but forgot sauces and the rice when asked. She did keep my water filled. The decor is nothing fancy. Booths and tables crammed into the smallest place they could find.
This place was amazing! The service was was great and the greet as you come through the door was everything. The Soup Dumplings was fix to prefection . The atmosphere was calm, relaxing and inviting. I will definitely be back when I come back to visit !

My husband took me on a lunch date to Zen Dumpling. The atmosphere was so nice and the place very cute. The food was so good. Our waitress Jess was so amazing. Very sweet and attentive to our needs. I for sure recommend this delicious place. Ask for Jess you won't be disappointed. read more

Nice spot in a great location. Makes for perfect lunch stops after shopping Food came out quickly, was DELICIOUS and I love the open concept where you can see them stretching noodles in the kitchen. I stopped here after the movies and what a cute place!!!! I love the aesthetic and lots of people were dining inside. It's a nice surprise for a shopping plaza because we live a good parking situation! I walked in and let them know I've never been here and I'm dining inside alone. She took me to a table and Vivian assisted me. She walked me through viewing the menu and how to mark up my order. It's a small menu so I personally felt the problem was what to order just for myself because I wanted to try everything, but also the prices were so reasonable if you wanted to order five things so you can try a bunch, Do IT! I wanted the scallion pancakes but in other places I'd typicpair it with some sort of curried meat but Vivian recommended the Beef Scallion Pancake so I gave it a try. It was decent, not my favorite and it was slightly cold. Next time I'd try the scallion pancake and chicken karaage which is not saucy but it looked like it might make a good pairing. I got the crabmeat and pork dumplings and they were delicious and made well. I liked the condiment station on the table with soy sauce, chili oil and vinegar. I saw people loved the Dan Dan noodles so I got them to go and I got some beef pan fried dumplings to go and everything is just really yummy. Super delicious dumpling restaurant worth the drive from Palm harbor. The decor is modern and bright. Feels very relaxing inside. There was a wait but it wasn't long for how busy they were. The food was absolutely delicious. The soup dumplings are my favorite but everything was great. Our server was so friendly and walked us through everything. I ordered the taro milk tea and my friends for the strawberry grean tea. Both were the perfect amount of sweet. We loved the pork soup dumplings, mini bao bites and scallion pancakes. 10 out of 10 I would come again! read more

This was my first time here! Everything about this place was great. It is decorated so cute and fresh. The food was phenomenal. We barely started eating and already had plans for what we would order next time! We will absolutely be back. The waitress was so nice. Have been wanting to try this place since they opened! Don't live in the Brandon area so we had to make the drive over here. We were brave and went on Valentine's Day and only had to wait about 30 minutes. They have a neat little device where you can Sign in and then it text you and you can check to see how if you're next in line. The cucumber salad was OK, I wouldn't get it again. I loved the dumpling bites and the noodles were super good. The soup dumplings were OK, they kept sticking to the paper so honestly they would burst before I could even get them in my spoon. The service was really good and the inside is super cute and modern. I wish that they had more alcoholic drink choices, but would definitely come back and bring friends. read more
Was in the mood for soup dumplings and heard this place was great... they were right! I went on Sunday and it was PACKED. Ordered the chicken soup dumplings Gen tso chicken Scallion pancakes Chicken fried rice Soup dumplings were a 10/10! Flavorful, tasty and perfect size! The gen tso was EXTREMELY spicy, so spicy was unable to tell if it had flavor or not. The scallion pancakes were my least favorite. It was so thick, a little burnt and dry. The chicken fried rice is a MUST! I couldn't stop eating this lol. I deducted stars because of the gen tso and scallion pancakes. I'd definitely visit again and try the chicken and broccoli instead. read more

All restaurants need to have picture menus like this place! It made ordering easy! Price including 20% tip for 2 came to about $53. But the food was so delicious! My son and I came here, having very little experience with this kind of food and we REALLY enjoyed it. He got bubble tea and we shared 3 items. Pan fried bao buns, pan fried dumplings, and the Dan Dan Noodle. All 3 were a culinary delight! Plus the speed at which the food arrived is faster than any restaurant I've ever been to. And the food came out piping hot! All of the staff we encountered was so friendly and sweet. This place really was such a great experience and the ambience was really nice. My only word of caution is if you have food allergies, check with the server when ordering because the menu doesn't have warnings other than to say something is spicy. I never had Dan Dan Noodles before but I could taste a hint of peanuts. (And for the record, we don't have food allergies.) read more

It was my first time here and I came with a group of friends. We ordered several dishes to share and honesty and everything was good. The fried rice was our favorite so goood. The XLB soup dumplings sampler was flavorful and the bao bites were really tasty, the edamame was good too, but I just wish it had a little more salt The place is beautiful with modern decoration and vibe, and the service was friendly and attentive , overall we have a nice experience and I would come back. read more
I couldn't wait to try this place after everything I heard. We were quickly seated and I liked the atmosphere. There were menus on our table and you just fill out what you want to order. There is tapas, dumplings of all kind and some entrees. My husband and I shared 6 pork soup dumplings and 1 variety soup dumpling, 6 pan fried chicken dumplings and a noodle dish with chicken. The food pretty much all came out at the same time. When I come back, I will order a few things at a time because our table was jam packed with food as we were with another couple. The pork soup dumplings were excellent. I will say that they stick to the paper and you lose some of the soup when you pick them up. The chicken pan fried dumplings were also good. The noodles were excellent. We were happy with our choices. The jasmine tea was very good. I wish the server had informed us that all food would come at once. read more

Ordered the soup dumpling with chicken, soup dumpling with shrimp & pork, vegetable dumping, beef pancake roll, vegetable fried rice, milk tea with boba. The vegetable dumplings and shrimp & pork dumplings were quite good. The beef pancake roll and vegetable fried rice were also tasty. The price of the rice for the quantity was worth it. There's a new dumpling spot in town and it is definitely worth the hype. First, let's start with the wait. They'll tell you it's 25 minutes no matter what party size you have - in all actuality, It will probably be 40 minutes. I've been twice and this has been the case both times as I went with a small party the first time, in a larger party the second time. The wait is a bit much, but trust me when I say it it's worth it. The service is amazing and once you order, the food comes out pretty quickly. Couple of our favorites were the little ribs along with the soup dumplings. I need to emphasize. You MUST try the soup dumplings. Other than that, there wasn't anything we truly did HATED that was on the menu and we tried basically everything. Although - my least favorite things were the mini bao and steamed dumplings. The steamed dumplings didn't have much flavor to them just meat and a dumpling even if you dipped it in your sauce it was a miss for me. But definitely give this a place or if you are a fan of dumplings. Other than that, everything was absolutely delicious 10 out of 10 love this place we don't have anything like this in Brandon and I'm so happy they're here. read more
Atmosphere - Great. The restaurant is bright and welcoming. Service - very good. Despite being extremely busy, our server, and the staff in general, did an excellent job. Food - Excellent. Having visited China and dined in a dumpling restaurant, I would say that the dumplings at Zen are comparable and excellent. My friends and I had a girls night out at this restaurant. What a great choice it was! It was decorated very nicely. Our server was very kind and helpful with making decisions of the items on the menu. They offer a variety of items on the menu from starters to boa buns to steamed dumplings. We started with the hot sour soup, which was amazing! The flavors and spice was definitely there. We followed with the scallion pancake, which was authentic and tasty. After that, we had our dumplings. One of my friends ordered the truffle dumplings which she enjoyed very much. The other two of us ordered the veggie dumplings. Unfortunately, it was our least favorite item, but our waiter was so kind to make us a ginger sauce which helped with the flavor. We hope to go back to try some other items! read more

We went around 315 this afternoon, there was quite a wait (45 minutes) but we waited and walked around the other shops that were in the area. THE WAIT WAS SO WORTH IT !!! The hostess Christy was absolutely amazing, we asked her what she recommended and we tried one of everything she was so so right! EVERYTHING that came out was DELICIOUS! The presentation was amazing as well! Our server Mariah was very informative, quick, and so very kind. It's a shame we live so far because between Christy and Mariah left us feeling so spoiled with your hospitality its outstanding! The over all restaurant was very clean and welcoming ! We were so caught up we didn't get a single picture. My friend and I got 5 menu items and only spent $60. It was fairly priced for all the food we got. read more
Stopped in for some dumplings on New Year's Eve and couldn't have asked for a better way to end the year! Everything we tried was amazing, especially the stir fried green beans, pork soup dumplings, and Mongolian beef. Zen dumpling is a hot spot for sure. A lot of people were there so the wait time was about 25-30 minutes for inside seating but they do have outside seating as well. This was my first visiting , the atmosphere was so beautiful and relaxing! Our server was nice and quick which was understandable due to the volume of people in the restaurant. My sister and I went over the menu and ordered Dan Dan noodles , spring rolls , Bao steam pork dumplings and some other dumplings. ALL OF IT WAS DELICIOUS!! I love the spice of the Dan Dan noodles. I recommend coming here if you want dumplings and noddles. As you wait to be seated you are in a shopping plaza to bypass some time as well. read more

Overall the food is good. I really can't speak on the soup dumplings, which I know they are known for because my toddler ate most of them and small bites I got, I couldn't tell one dumpling from the other with the exception of the truffle. The stand out dishes were the Mongolian beef, the chili wontons, the baby ribs, and the chicken karaage, in that order. I would definitely order these again. The ambiance is modern, which I appreciated. I'm a big dumpling fan. We saw that Zen Dumpling had great online reviews, so we decided to try it out. My favorite dumpling experience had been at Din Tai Fung, and Zen Dumpling has a very similar concept. We ordered several dishes, including the Pork Truffle Soup Dumplings, the soup dumpling sampler, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and Sweet & Sour Baby Ribs. Everything was delicious. The Braised Beef Noodle Soup was the standout and I highly recommend it, the broth was rich and flavorful, and the noodles were perfectly al dente. The Pork Truffle Soup Dumplings were also excellent and came in a unique dark dough, which made them easy to identify. This was especially helpful with the sampler, since each soup dumpling has its own color. Overall, the food, service, and ambiance were all great. We had a wonderful experience and are excited to come back. read more
Great time at Zen Dumpling in Brandon! Ive wanted to try this since it always looks busy every time I go by it! We sat on the patio and the fans were on high so it was a bit cold. The menu was a small piece of paper which you write on with a pen what you'd like. We got the spring roll, noddles, chicken and mushroom dumpling and the Shanghai Dumplings which were pan friends. My favorite was the noddles, they were so good!! Chicken and mushroom dumpling were number 2. The dumplings were so fresh and made to order. Everything came out within about 10 minutes it was super fast! Only thing was the service was very slow for everything else, server hardly came to the table. Our server Ann made our first time experience a 10/10. Checked on us regularly & explained their menu & gave recommendations. Food was delicious, literally have no complaints. The place is cute & comfortable. We tried the pork soup dumplings, steamed bao, beef pancake, cucumber salad, spring rolls & ordered the brown sugar milk tea w boba!! read more
We came during Sunday evening so there was a 20minute wait, which was not too bad. After seated, the service was really smooth. The food came out fairly quickly and everything tasted amazing! Prob best soup dumplings currently in Tampa. Souper juicy!!! We ordered chili cucumber, pork truffle soup dumplings, pan fried pork bao and shanghai dumplings. Chili cucumber was refreshing. Can add more chili crisps for an extra kick. Pork truffle soup dumplings were the star of the evening. Pan fried baos were surprisingly juicy and tasty. Crispy at the bottom and airy soft on the top. Shanghai dumplings were alright. Would definitely come back for soup dumplings! read more

This place was amazing . The atmosphere is so nice clean and authentic. I like how you ca see the chefs making the dumplings through the glass . We were greeted by friendly staff who continued to check on us. The food was hot, delicious and filling . Great family and friends spot. read more
