I went here on my last full day in Maui and it was a wonderful way to end my trip! I made reservations online a few weeks earlier and signed up for the Internet Special of a combined facial (50mins) and massage (60mins), which was a real deal in my opinion, especially after doing some research on other spas and resorts in Maui. Firstly, before I even made my reservation, I had a question about the package and emailed the spa's contact email. I received a helpful and friendly response from the owner a day later and was all set. The spa is located in a shopping center up the road from where I was staying, and although it is unassuming from the outside, the inside was completely tranquil and exotic looking. I was a few minutes early for my appointment, but when I came in the receptionist greeted me by name and was expecting me. I only had to wait a few minutes before the massage therapist (Roxana) came in to lead me to the massage room. I've only had a few massages before, but I can say that Roxana is very talented and was very considerate about whether I was comfortable with the level of pressure she applied. She explained what she was going to do and some of the options that were available with the techniques. The room was also very clean, calm and there was a soothing mini waterfall that made the experience totally relaxing. I got a full body massage and never felt uncomfortable or in pain the whole time (though even if I did, Roxana would be sure to adjust to meet my needs). I also really enjoyed the products that she used and the how she had me inhale the eculyptus lotion and other soothing oils before she started. After the massage, the esthetician, Kym, quietly and calmly brought her equipment into the room and seamlessly began my facial. This was great because I was completely relaxed at that point, and probably would have been jarred by any kind of clumsy or loud movement. The facial was another lovely experience, with several cleanses, a mask, and a moisturizer with a mixed-in SPF to put on my face and chest for when I went out for the rest of the day. Kym made sure to ask questions about my cleansing routine and skin type to get a better idea of what to do for my facial. She even helped pick out a few of the products she used when I asked her about them so I could have some to take home with me. Overall this experience was well worth it and I seriously left feeling renewed and relaxed! Super experience. A charming little spa, perfectly decorated. Treatment rooms have pleasant music, tinkling water features, and luxurious linens. Emily was friendly, skilled and very professional. I have some range of motion issues and a recent surgery and Emily was very careful to make sure I was comfortable by checking in with me verbally and also just being in tune with my body's responses to her treatment. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the spa is just a reception area and two (I think) treatment rooms - no steam room or hot tub or meditation room. A larger and more corporate spa might have those features, but I loved the small, intimate feeling of this little spa. I highly recommend. read more

Today was my last day on Maui, and I'm so glad that I stopped by Zensations Spa. I got a 60 minute pure and simple facial with Terry T. She does a really great facial massage. For some reason I didn't think she would massage the front of my legs (quads) but I guess it was a full body massage! 60 minutes went by way too fast. A true gem! Don't let the location fool you - set in a strip mall but inside is very tranquil. I prefer a very strong massage so we got the deep tissue massages. I had a cute little Eastern European woman (I believe) with a name similar to Yolanda. Her looks were deceiving as she was very strong! She was absolutely fantastic and gave me one of the best massages I've ever had (and I get them very regularly a few times a month). Definitely just as good of service that you'd receive at a resort without the resort prices. Definitely worth a visit especially if you are sore from a hike or just need to relax. I had a pretty meh experience, but my husband loved his experience here. (Different day, different massage therapist), so I'm going to leave this review right in the middle at three stars. When you go to a new massage spot, I feel like it's so SO important for the person booking your massage to understand what you like in a massage and to book the therapist accordingly. I did not get the right therapist. I booked a deep tissue massage with Kelly. (There are two Kellys. Mine was super petite.) As an athlete, I really like it when the therapist takes the 90 minutes to dig deep and get a good release going in my tight muscles. I don't like "la la" massages where they barely use any pressure. I primed Kelly at the beginning, letting her know I'm an athlete and would like a good release. She told me I could pay more for a deep tissue massage (which was a bit of a red flag, since I had already paid more for a deep tissue massage and she didn't seem to know about it until I told her that that's what I had booked). I asked Kelly to use more pressure on at least half a dozen occasions throughout the massage, but she didn't seem to get it. She would use a ton of pressure on spots that weren't even tight and would sort of glance over the spots that were, even when I said, "right there is good". I eventually just decided to let go of trying to coach her and just try to enjoy it for what it was. I bet she's AWESOME at super relaxing lomi lomi or swedish massages, because when I just tried to enjoy it for what it was, it was actually sort of nice. It just wasn't what I wanted. My husband also had a therapist named Kelly (from Tahoe). He thought she was awesome. She apparently dug deep, gave him a good muscle release, and listed well to cues about pressure. The spa itself is lovely despite its location. I'd say give this place a try. Just make sure to be clear about what you want out of the massage before you book any specific therapist. read more

Came here to pamper myself during our "babymoon" and loved every relaxing moment! The prenatal massage was heavenly! It included a specialised pillow that allows you to lie tummy-down despite the baby bump. The facial left my skin dewy and glowing the rest of the trip! I'm visiting Maui. My first time for a massage at this day spa. Went the day before for a wax and was impressed. Had a really, really good massage. I received the 90 minute Lomi Lomi. More "therapeutic" than I'd had before but I needed it! Don't be scared away by the strip center location. It is really nice inside and has a calming vibe when you're taken to your treatment room. Prices are probably a third less (if not more) than the resorts. But - there's no resort amenities either (fine by me!). I will definitely be back on future visits. *Note- the only reason they didn't get the 5th star was due to their neighbor (deli) making so much noise in their back room/kitchen for the last 20 mins of my treatment- total buzz kill. MAN IT HURT SO GOOD! Massage was well worth it while on vacation. We were on a search for a last minute massage appointment on our last day in Maui after doing rigorous activities like surfing, scuba diving, and riding mopeds. We tried going to Maui Zen Spa but they apparently left early for the day even though it says they were open on saturdays. No bueno. Luckily, we got referred to Zensations and it was fabulous. What better way to end our trip by pampering ourselves with a massage? They were nice enough to squeeze us in at the end of the day and have 3 massage physicians stay longer and do 90 minute massages. Bonus star for being accommodating last minute. I went with the sports massage since I figured it's the closest thing to the deep tissue massage and it's slightly cheaper. The 90 minute massage was $125 which I think is a better deal than the 60 minute for $99. My friend and I got to share the couples room...how romantical! My massage therapist Shirley was great and asked me questions on target spots and what sports I do etc. She massaged all my knots away, made my body bendy in weird ways...at the end my body felt like floating on air after. I wish it would last forever. The sheets they used were soft and oh so silky that my friend and I didn't want to get out of the bed. I had to find out what they were! The sheets are Comphy Co and they are used at resort spas like the Wynn, Ritz Carlton, and The Four Seasons. Fancy Schmancy! It was so soft I went online to buy a pair of sheets myself. The owner Eric was super friendly and talkative. Overall, super friendly workers along with great quality massages at a decent price and clean space. Save your money on those expensive spa resports. The space was super clean, well cared for and tranquil. The massage was fairly priced and I got an appointment same day. I am a clinic owner who has had a ton of body work and employed many massage therapists over the years. Overall the first non deep tissue I had was 4 stars from a female masseuse, The no stars for the bad and somewhat harmful deep tissue massage was from a male masseur. I should start by saying that I operated as a licensed masseur for five years at a health club working with a sports physical therapist when younger and have had at least a couple of hundred deep tissue (rolfing etc) massages. I told the masseur before we started I had an old injury where I broke a rib. He then proceeded to do a chiropractic compression (pressing down until you hear a crack.) and strained some cartilage. As a massage therapist you have to be very specific with the person you are massaging and listen and ask. On the receiving end you have to take control and if you feel something bad is happening make sure it stops; no matter how embarrassing that is. One size fits all is not ideal for massages and never for deep tissue. I would stick with the other offerings here and if you want a the a little more pressure somewhere ask for it. . read more

This place is a hidden gem on Maui! I'm so excited I found this place, and cant wait to go back! I almost dont want to expose this place and keep it all to myself but the people are so wonderful, humble and welcoming, they truly posess the aloha spirit. My cousin and I booked the lomi lomi massage(i think) with Ajah(receptionist over the phone. When you find the place it looks a littl small, located in a small strip mall next to a fish market. haha But dont be fooled! The receptionist/owner(?) male, welcomed us as soon as we walked in the door. Shortly after The massage therapists Emily and Karen(kara?) greeted us and showed us to the double room. I instantly felt so relaxed and my cousin and I agreed it was the best massage we'd ever had. Which is big especially because my cousin is a professional dancer and gets massages often. I wished I'd remembered the massage therapists name because they were both truly amazing!! When we were done I wanted another hour! haha Even after they showerd true Hawaiian spirit when we had a mix up with gift certificates, telling us not to worry, relax and enjoy ourselves, and they would figure it out. A great little day spa equipped to meet all of your spa needs. Located in a little strip mall, don't let the location fool you. The spa is clean and up to date with many nice spa amenities. Because the place is small, they can only accommodate three services at one time. We had five people in our group so we had to stagger our appointments. No big deal, that just meant more time to visit all of the cute surrounding shops. I opted for the Maui Zen package. A wonderful full body massage which highlighted all of my "trouble" spots. Have you ever had a massage that hurt so bad but felt so good? That is what I got! Believe me, that is what I needed so no complaints here. My massage therapist was excellent. She found all of my knots and did not stop until she got rid of them. Honestly, one of the best massages that I have ever had!! My wife and I were looking at somewhere to get a massage and wanted to look at something other than the way over priced hotels. We came upon this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. We sure are glad we did. Location was north of the kanapalli resorts. We did the couples massage where we were put into a nice dim lit room with yoga music in the background was very relaxing. When we first met our massage therapist it didn't seem they would be able to do a lot as they were little but they packed a mean grip and got the job done for us. The entire staff was very friendly and helped get out our kinks from the long 2 weeks we were in Hawaii. Price tag of 189 bucks for the 2 of us was not bad compared to the resort cost around town.
