As always the atmos is astounding. The place was crowded and only one server (he is great) it he was in overwhelm. We had a party of four and things were mostly okay. One of the appetizers came with the main courses. Not great but not that bad. But..... the new recipe for the. Brussels sprouts is nowhere near as good as the old version. Won't be having that again. Not bad just not as good. Then we get to the poke nachos. Tasty to be sure but waaaaaay less tuna and now it's In a bowl and not on a plate so it is near impossible to just eat like you would a nacho. So less food and harder to eat. Again- probably won't be ordering that in the future. The schnitzel was reported as being excellent but the mash potatoes lacked flavor. The flatbread was yummy and the burger was good. Joey and Brad were working so hard considering how many Wicked cocktails were being ordered and were still friendly as can be. I am a huge wicked fan and went to see the second movie in theaters multiple times but going to the Lot is always my favorite. After the movie we decided to get a drink at the bar and grab a quick snack. I like this location because it is indoors and outdoors and always has a nice breeze. read more

The staff here was super accommodating and friendly. They allowed us to order select things from The Lot theater food menu which was very convenient and provided more options. They have a huge drink selection as well as offering one of my favorite local beers! I got the La Jolla roll and it was very good. Came in for a quick drink and snack at the bar. First time, never been.. Pretty disappointed. I got the cheapest white wine but got the smallest pour. Every other wine glass was filled up pretty well- (dang, maybe if I ordered a more expensive wine I could've gotten an equal pour like everyone else.) What a find!!! From start to finish it was an exceptional experience. We were greeted by the lovely, Marin. She is a great choice for Director of first impressions. We were seated, and quickly introduced to the sweetest girl, Riley, our server. She was very dynamic, engaging all while sharing fun stories about the restaurant and her family. She was a gem! We chose, Guacamole for our starter. The Lime Citrus Salmon Bowl as well as the Chicken Sandwich were our entrees. Everything was a 10/10! The place is great! Elevated from the street with view to the fountain and plaza across the street, indoor/outdoor blending into one. Nice upbeat music. And good service. The food was terrible unfortunately. Quite a contrast from the La Jolla location. The calamari seemed double or triple fried to reheat them. The brussel sprouts also seemed reheated and very dry. The salmon had the flavor of burnt grill which was overpowering. The mashed potatoes were cold. One would expect a similar level of cuisine among its locations. Went to Zentral a few weeks back and had a terrible experience. Bad service, food and disappointing customer service response when we emailed management about our experience (still waiting for a reply to two emails sent.) ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME IF GOING TO A MOVIE OR SHOW ACROSS THE STREET AT CYGNET THEATER. It took over 1 1/2 hours for what we were hoping would be a quick snack before the show. If we didn't walk to the bar, we'd have never received menus, drinks or food. The servers pretty much ignored us (and the couple that sat near us at a shared table.) When the food finally came, it was awful! Cold, soggy chips, wilted salad. With so many option at Liberty Station, I would avoid this place and go to someplace that doesn't take their customers for granted. read more

I ended up here after I tried booked reservations for brunch and it was the only spot in the area available. With that said, I found this is a hidden gem and I am not sure I want word to get out! I have been here twice now for brunch and both times it was easy to get a table on the patio. The atmosphere is relaxing and I enjoy the view of the fountain and ability to people watch. The decor is nice and the food is delicious. I would have given it 5 stars but, for how slow it is, the service is surprisingly also slow. Last time the waiter was talking to someone at the bar for awhile, knowing we were ready to pay. That said, it does align with the chill vibe. We have tried the chilaquiles, matcha pancakes, the chicken and waffle sandwich and a French toast that was crème brûlée flavored (? I can't find the menu online to confirm). If there are issues here; I would attribute that those issues to corporate via planning events and understaffing them or not providing the necessary hours to properly manage. Ordered the wagyu 1/2 lb burger with truffle fries, a Caesar salad, and 2 drink for me and my girlfriend. Service started off great but somehow went 30 mins without our server checking on us; he was at every other table (they weren't busy at all). The bartender noticed we were just sitting here and sent another server over to take our coffee order and close out our tab. The martinis were great. The Brussels sprouts were delicious. The service, unfortunately, was abominable. Three of us sat at a bar table for the Rams game which had been advertised as an "event." When we asked if we could have sound for the game, our server told us they couldn't play music and the game at the same time. Switching to the game wasn't an option? I waited awhile and asked the manager who reported a glitch in the programming that they knew they needed to work out for the Super Bowl (4 weeks from now). I asked if we could get closed captioning. They hadn't done that before, but they offered to try, but not before chatting with the bartender, bussing a table, and observing the restaurant for awhile. I had to go to the bar to pick up the drinks my party had ordered about 10 minutes earlier and was then scolded, albeit playfully, for doing our server's job. Later in the day, I had to go to the bar to ask about the drink I ordered a punt and a touchdown earlier. I was waved off by the bartender who reported being busy with other things. She did not look busy. We ordered 2 apps. When we asked for plates, napkins, and cutlery, they were brought a short while later and placed at the end of the table. We're not snooty, but come on. I watched 2 parties have to go to the hostess stand to get their own menus. One of those parties had to go to the bar and ask if they could order food. I watched another woman have to go to the bar for the same thing. I heard someone say they didn't see her. I saw staff seat her. A second manager arrived at some point in the afternoon and he was a bright star...and not just in comparison to the rest of the staff. But we won't be back. read more

This place is a pretty decent spot especially if your seeing a movie & have some time to kill. The restaurant is really pretty has a causal almost coffee shop asthetic & the lighting was super cute. Our waitress was really nice and accommodating, I wish i remembered her name because she was amazing. The drinks were pretty good & I loved the sangria. The food was good but definitely not the standout. We got the Brussel sprouts which were disappointing as they were really sweet and bland, the tuna hand roll was good and the chicken kaarage was pretty decent. The standout was absolutely the miso salmon. I will say the forbidden rice was slightly overcooked and crunchy, but overall a pretty good dish! My husband got the Waygu steak and Fritts, the steak was overcooked and he has to send it back the second one was still obercooked but slightly less so he chose to keep it, which he said was pretty good but he was disappointed that it wasn't made exactly how he expected. The truffle fritts were amazing! And my son enjoyed his pizza and fries which was a pretty good portion for a kids meal. MUST TRY!! I had no idea when I made reservations here that it was basically the restaurant attached to the movie theater. It looked so nice and the reviews were so good, who would have thought?!?! Our waiter Anthony deserves a shout out for his great personality and sense of humor! You gotta know how to roll with the punches with my group of girls! Food was delicious, a free mimosa at brunch, who could ask for more. I came here for the first time a couple of weeks ago. We got there around 12pm on a Saturday and there were only a few people there. The ambiance was calm and the interior design was great. The restaurant also has a nice view. The server and hostess were friendly. I ordered the red velvet pancakes and they could have been better, they lacked flavor. The side of eggs and sausage I ordered were good. I was disappointed with the pancakes but would definitely come back and order something different. read more
