Two reasons why I give rainbow cleaners 5 stars... the first is a few months ago I didn't realize they were closed on the day I needed a dress to wear to an event. I called the number and the owner had someone come and open the cleaners just to give me my dress!!' Wow, now that's what you call service! Second the prices are not outrageous like other cleaners in Sherman Oaks and the quality is just as good as their high priced competitors! Finally found a dry cleaner who understands vintage clothing! They fixed an over-pressed hem that had probably looked that way for decades, and did a phenomenal job with it. If no stars were a possibility, you know the rest. They managed to ruin every piece of clothing I brought to them in the one and only time I used them. When they offered to re-clean them, they managed to make a silk dress even worse the second time. There were water and oil stains on the dress that were not there before. They manage to wash the color out of a sweatshirt and completely ruin a two piece sweater and pants set causing multiple stains and rendering the clothing unwearable. When I asked them what went wrong, the owner copped such a massive attitude with me, and took no responsibility for their mistakes. Just don't bother with this place. read more

*PLEASE READ, IF YOU PLAN ON COMING HERE* Only writing this review, so you guys can improve your customer service and work ethic. I brought a work uniform to rainbow cleaners because they were literally 8 minutes from my house. I had them only do alterations to the uniform. The manager promised me they would be ready by tomorrow. I got caught up with work so I came the day after they promised it would be ready. I come in on a Saturday and see that my clothes was bunched up on the counter, not hung up and ready to go. When I tried the clothes on, that's when I noticed that they didn't do what they charged me for. So I'm beyond upset because I needed this uniform. The girl working there got on the phone with the manager and wasted about 30 minutes of my time sending him pictures and him trying to coach her how to refund me for what wasn't done. Then she stated that she would refund me and we will fix the pants for you. Fast forward almost 2 weeks later, I go to pick up the clothes and they charged me, even after all of the inconveniences on their part. Dealing with rainbow cleaners has wasted so much of my time and the alterations weren't good anyways. I would advise to never use the alterations services here, just stick to getting your clothes dry cleaned. Also, the lovely young lady who works on the weekends, needs to be a bit more trained on the job before being solo. read more

I began coming here because my friend's parents had owned the place a while ago, but even with the owner change, I still love it. What really makes this place stand out is the owner (Wanda). She's so personable and she remembers each and every one of her customers. I once called her to check on the status of my order and she knew who I was even before I said my name! The prices are reasonable and when you hem your pants and there's some sort of problem (ex. still too long), she'll fix it at no charge. I would NOT use this place. I went in to have some uniform pants hemmed. At NO time was I offered a choice of a "hidden stitch" or a regular stitch for the hem. These are uniform suit pants and in the 35 years with my company I have never ever had to specify this with ANY tailor. And they ARE on the list of approved tailors for CINTAS. When the pants were returned, they had a horrible visible stitch along the bottom of the pants, and the material had not even been pressed down so they were "poofy" and rounded at the bottom. The pants are completely ruined. Not even hung up on a hanger, folded or bagged. She just handed them to me in a wad. She said if I wanted them pressed at the bottom, I should have told her and I'd have to come back the next day. And she said it was MY fault for not telling her I wanted to pay extra for a hidden stitch. I will NEVER go back here. The workmanship and attitude of the woman I dealt with were horrible. read more
