This place is the absolute *best*! I've been taking my clothing there for over a decade and never been disappointed once. There is a different dry cleaning place closer to where I live, but the manager there was once incredibly rude and abrasive to me, so I thought I'd give Legacy a shot, even though it was further away. Quickest way to lose a customer is rude service! The owners wife is always rude without fail and made multiple mistakes writing down my name correctly (which made for a time tracking down my stuff) but the owner had been nice up until my wife just picked up 2 shirts for me. It should have cost me 8 dollars if I paid cash. This is one of those businesses that's trying to cheat the IRS so they discourage you from using your credit card with a. Credit card fee. I asked if he could not charge the 2 dollars fee as a courtesy this one time since I go there all the time and always pay cash...HIS RESPONSE: (annoyed) well if it's gonna break the bank I'll give you 2 dollars next time, in fact offered 5 dollars cash sarcastically like I was a charity case. My dry cleaner closed recently and I was looking for a new one. I'm happy that I found Legacy 1HR Cleaners. They're in a busy strip mall but it was easy to get parking right in front of their store for both my drop-off and pick-up. Brought in a bunch of shirts in for laundry and a pair of pants for dry cleaning. Everything was ready by the designated pick-up time and came back clean and pressed. They flagged in advance that a stain on my pants may not be removable and asked if I still wanted to have them cleaned. Their rates are competitive, but the only downside is that there is a fee to use a credit card for any purchase amount. read more

Legacy Cleaners is a spectacular small business that is entirely worth promoting. There's an abundance of dry cleaners in the Encino/Sherman Oaks/Studio City areas, but Legacy stands apart for its quality assurance and quick turnaround. First off -- I absolutely hate where Legacy is located. It's in the same plaza as Gyu-Kaku, El Torito and Dojo Sushi -- smack on the ever-hectic corner of Ventura Boulevard and Van Nuys Boulevard. Sure, there's a parking lot, but it's cramped and every spot is always taken. There's valet, but it's not complimentary and who wants to do valet for an errand?! Well, thankfully, Legacy has TWO designated parking stalls right in front. They are reserved for Legacy customers, 24/7. Getting in and out isn't fun, but at least finding a spot is a breeze. Second -- Eddie's work is great. I've been in several times with difficult stains on fragile fabrics, and he's always managed to clean everything up. He marks the stains with tape in advance so he knows which areas need focus. Fair prices, too. I haven't needed one hour service yet, so I pick up clothes after a day or two. I usually bring about 5-10 pieces in at a time. Eddie greets all of his customers like they're long-time patrons, and that only adds to the positive experience. I would absolutely recommend Legacy Cleaners, even though it's not in the most convenient area. Still worthwhile for solid work! read more

This place was referred to me by a long time customer one day when I needed a dry cleaner and ive been going only here now for 3 years. Even after moving 7 miles away I will make the trek to hire their services. Their prices are just right and even far more affordable when it came to dry cleaning my expensive shag rug. The turn around time is quick too. The best thing about the dry cleaning here besides the ultra-cool and personable owner is that they use organic products, not the toxic chemicals some other dry cleaning places use. Lastly, I once left my clothing here for about 6 months and it was found a few months later after diligent effort. I don't recommend doing that btw. However I was so pleased to have the item returned and because this happened they didnt charge me for the cleaning. Great job guys! Thanks. read more

UPDATE- I've never been treated so rudely by a business - especially one in the service industry- in my life. Eddie (the owner) first told me "that dress is 30 years old"- in fact, I bought it new in 2017. Then when I told him how much it cost, he said "there's no way it cost that much." He demanded photos of me wearing the original dress, which I sent along with the link to the dress. Then he said "we did our best, you don't scare me." And that's all. I was planning on passing this dress on toy daughter someday, and now it's ruined, without so much as an apology. Was excited about the good reviews for this place so we decided to take our two comforters here after calling multiple places for estimates. Got the same estimate from another place but this place was closest to our house. Picked up our comforters yesterday and immediately noticed that the maroon coloring had bled onto the white of our comforter making it pink. When I asked how that happened the woman at the front goes "well did you wash it before you brought it to us?" I said no. And she goes "that's why". If I had washed it before bringing it, I wouldn't have brought it? Our second comforter wasn't spot treated and there's stains still randomly throughout it. For $72 I would not recommend. read more

Found this place after having some over priced, under whelming service at another cleaner in the area. Didn't love my other experience and how crazy expensive it was, found Legacy on yelp for the good reviews. Here's one of my own: They got the spots out on my tie. They didn't charge me 10 bucks for it. In fact, my four laundered shirts and dry clean tie was 10.50. The other place was like 35. I'll happily pay the price for good service. Legacy is great service at prices that are even better than expected. They earned my business and this review. I recently moved to Sherman oaks and was looking for a great cleaners on yelp and came across this shop and trusted the great reviews they had. My fiancé and I have an engagement shoot coming up and we took his brand new tux shirt to be pressed for the shoot which by the way cost us 6$ each. We picked up the shirts and were a bit taken back that they charge 1.50$ to pay with a credit card. Non the less we came home to try all of the shirts on and the shirts were still wrinkled! There are very deep wrinkles around the collar and there are no crease lines ! (See attached photos.) We're left so disappointed since our shoot is tomorrow and we don't have enough time to take it to another cleaners. Yes the prices are great, yes the owner Eddie is very nice, but the work really fell off to the point that I left. Last visit was the last straw. Dropped off a shirt immediately with blood. Eddie said no problem. Picked up the shirt with the same blood stain. Went home and my wife treated the shirt and lo and behold no blood stain when I took it out of my home washing machine. Just put on a french cuff shirt that this location laundered and the same stains are on both cuffs...no more excuses, please correct the work.... read more

Eddie and his staff are exceptional. I've never had an encounter with a dry cleaner without some level of complaint re: timing, quality of cleaning, lost clothes, misplaced tickets, etc. not here. So I called 3 different places nearby for same day suit cleaning pricing. First place "eh 15 or 16 dollars" then they hung up on me. Second place (legacy) "hi!" Super friendly voice, "same day suits are $20, see you soon!" Third place "24 please bring by 2pm, thank you" not unfriendly, but most expensive. Though the first place was cheapest I actually went with the second (Legacy obviously nice the 5 tsar review) because the girl on the phone was so friendly. I dropped off my suit, it was done when she said it would be and she was very sweet. When I picked it up a different guy was there, also friendly but not as perky as the girl from the afternoon... but they got my business from the great attitude on the phone. I come here regularly for my dry cleaning and every garment I have ever dropped off is in even better shape when I pick it up. I was on the fence about having my wedding dress cleaned pre-wedding because it was a consignment dress and lace so was told by my seamstress I should wait in case it would shrink. I took my dress here after my wedding, covered in stains, only to pick it up and find that it is EVEN better shape than I have ever seen. Now I am kicking myself for not taking it in before my wedding because I didn't think it was possible to look better.
