But just about every thing to do with our dinner was low quality The Maitre d (or host mgr) has poor customer service skills. He is the wrong person to be in that position. Sometimes I would suggest to have him train at one of better dinner houses in Knoxville, but his attitude is such I'm not sure he would understand his deficiencies. Overall, he does not treat guests as if they are the lifeline for a restaurant. He made no effort to make us feel he was glad we came to The Kennedy and when we left he made no attempt to thank us or ask how our experience was. If he is not replaced the restaurant will steadily lose customers. The food quality was poor. The salmon on top of Brussel sprouts tasted as if someone in the kitchen poured molasses on top of the Brussel Spouts. Then after it was sent back with the request to re-do the dinner without the sweetener it came back (after a very long delay) with a huge plate of Brussel Sprouts that were completely dried out. It seemed like the people in the kitchen attempted to make up for the poor taste by giving a helping size 3 X as normal. The crab on noodles was a "C" at best. The crab was stringy and the noodles were very bland. If people at coming for drinks and appetizers it probably is a good choice but if someone wants a quality dinner experience I was told by 2 locals who come downtown a lot to eat at Lonesome Dove Brass Pearl JC Holdway (the best chef) Oliver Royale ( we ate here and the food quality and service were exceptional) Osteria Stella Emelia

We sat at the bar and the gentleman gave us some background on the facility and also allowed us to sample some of the wines that were made there. I was pleased with the customer service I received and I will go back again for a more extensive tour of the entire facility.

Loads of free parking, which is unique downtown. I went for lunch and got the Italian panini sandwich. The bread is toasted extra crispy and is filled with all kinds of stuff. Lots of flavor. Very good. It came with a side salad that was a cut above what I expected. With an iced tea and tax my lunch total was $14.75. Slightly above the average downtown but the quantity and quality was above average too. The place was empty except for me. Give them a try! Park there and ask if it's okay to leave your car in their lot while you walk around downtown. I'm on a mission to try all of the 50+ restaurants for lunch downtown. It's a fun assignment! The waitress was nice and my food came quickly.

I started off with a dozen New River Oysters, they were fresh and delicious, but the crackers they brought out were stale and some of them were already open, which may be why some were stale. I ordered the wasabi Tuna on rice and a baked potato and the spouse had the grilled salmon on rice with baked potato. My Tuna started out good as the first couple of bites were easily cut off the steak , but then there was a very big piece of white grisly tendon that run the entire length of the fish and it was impossible to cut with the butter knife that I was given. Then it got worse when the potato had a thumb sized black place once I started eating the potato. Needless to say I was not very happy with my Birthday meal, my wife's salmon was perfectly cooked and her potato was fine. Im sure that if I had complained about the meal, they would have cooked me another meal, but when you are spending 130 dollars on a great meal in a upscale restaurant you expect that the chef and staff have properly trimed the fish and inspected the potato for bad places and you could see the black spot on the outside as well as the inside. I can't say that I have had a bad meal at Chesapeakes before today, but it's doubtful that I will go back. Another thing in all of my Birthday meals there,I have always been given a complimentary dessert to take home in the past. As the meal portions ,plus the dozen Oysters that I always get is alot of food, but no offer from the waitress this time. Just didn't expect mediocre food from this place, especially when the prices are so expensive.

I suppose you could say it is better than other restaurants in the area but that's about it for me. And that alone is not something that would get me to go back. I had 21.8 oz total of different kinds of beers and it only cost me 10 bucks. I was checking out and someone else had a party of 5 and their bill was only $56 with beer and food. One of the servers cleared our drinks while I was in the bathroom and somehow took my wristband with them. When we went to close out, the server refused to help us because one person no longer had their wristband even though it was THEIR staff who took it in the first place. Instead of trying to fix the situation, asking questions, or showing any level of customer service, she was rude, dismissive, and acted like she couldn't care less. The entire issue was caused by the staff, yet we were treated like it was our fault. Then they still expected a 20% tip after providing terrible service and zero effort to resolve the problem. Tips should reflect service, and this experience was awful from start to finish. Management seriously needs to train their staff on accountability and customer service because this was beyond frustrating and completely unprofessional.

The meatball appetizer was three mini meatballs. I've seen meatballs on sub sandwiches bigger than these. The lasagna, was really without any sauce. It was a bolognese sauce. Also it lacked the stretchy cheese pull that one expects from a lasagna. The pasta dishes from what I tried was a little to al dente, there was too much chew in the pasta. That said for the prices that they charge to not offer a side salad or at least some bread with the meal is disappointing.

The food is amazing. For appetizers I would recommend getting the focaccia and meatballs. Entree wise, I would HIGHLY recommend splitting the Pappardelle e Ragú di Maiale Bianco and something else with another one of your table mates. The portion size is perfect for one person but you'll want to try more than one item. If you are there in the summer, you must try the Tomato Martini (PLEASE bring it back for next summer's menu!). The service and ambiance of Osteria Stella and Brother Wolf is what completely sets them apart. OS is a high class, quiet, romantic restaurant with dark colors and knowledgeable servers who value your experience. BW is simply a high end bar. That said, BW is much more fast paced and really my only complaint, the music was absurdly loud the night we were there for dinner and the restaurant was crowded, so everyone was trying to talk over the music and you almost had to yell to even hear the person sitting right beside you. If going to OS, you would likely need reservations, especially on a weekend. With BW, they don't take reservations to my knowledge and it's a free for all for an open seat at the bar or an open table. Really the difference is what kind of vibe you're going for.

Sadly, it was a letdown from start to finish. * Timing: We had to wait a long time between courses -- first the salads, then quite a gap before the entrées arrived. * Food temperature: Nothing came out hot. Not cold, but lukewarm at best. * Steak: Came out undercooked (still red inside) and had to be sent back. * Baked potatoes: Not fully cooked, had to request replacements. * Shrimp: No seasoning at all, just bland. * Salads: Looked like they were poured straight from a bag -- clumped together and unappealing. * Clam strips: My mom's were fried so hard they were chewy and unpleasant. * Overall taste: Most of the fried food seemed to be just heavy breading tossed into grease with no real seasoning. By the time more issues came up, I didn't even want to keep sending things back -- we just tried to eat what we could. This was supposed to be a special night out, but the quality and execution of the food didn't come close to matching the price. Everything looked better than it tasted, and it's not a place I can recommend based on this visit. (Photos attached show the actual dishes we received.) I didn't get the picture of my boyfriend's steak because at the time it had to be sent back. So I added his lobster tail to my plate with the shrimp
