We stopped there on a monday for their Dim Sum lunch and there was plenty of open tables. The food was OK, sort of gave the impression it was all premade and they just heated it up. It was nice as there aren't many places that do Dim Sum in the area and was pretty easy to get to. read more

We visited for the first time this morning, a relaxed and rainy Sunday. What a wonderful way to begin the day, with a steaming pot of freshly brewed tea and a smorgasbord of dim sum! My partner and I shared 6 items and it was enough to fill us up but not weigh us down. They spaced out our dishes so that they came out 2 at a time which I really appreciated so that nothing would just be sitting there and going cold. If I had to choose a favorite item (it's a hard choice literally everything was quite delicious) it would be the turnip cakes! They have a nice crispy exterior with an interior that melts in your mouth. It wasn't what I expected but I really enjoyed it. The waitstaff was prompt and very polite without being overbearing. Our tea was always full and dishes were cleared as we went through each wave of food. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back every weekend! read more

The lowlights: Boneless spareribs were dry and bland, the rice was an odd color and didn't taste like typical fried rice. Also I didn't know what door to use, front or back. We ordered: beef fried rice (rice was pretty good! but had dry and flavorless beef) general tso's chicken extra spicy (was yummy) The tibit #2? they were super cheap with the crab rangoon's cream cheese (worse crab rangoons ever) spare ribs were terrible (over cooked, ribs with NO taste) and chicken fingers were okay. Zhong's used to be our go to place for take out. 6 months ago I would've raved about the place...not anymore!!!! Lately the prices have increased, portion sizes are 2/3 of what they were and they charge for a small rice when it used to cone with the dishes we order. I only stayed here in town for 2 days but I came here every lunch and dinner. Picked up some take away from Zhong's tonight. This Chinese restaurant was formerly named South Garden. The facts: menu is the same , cooks are the same and the restaurant has had a face lift on the outside and in the bar area. Called to place an order by phone and it was ready for pick up in 15 minutes. My partner had D2 which is pork fried rice, chicken fingers, chicken wings and an egg roll. 1st - it is an enormous amount of food! More than you should safely consume in one setting! Stomach beware! 2nd and most important it was excellent. Not greasy , very flavorful and cooked perfectly. I had vegetable fried rice with Tofu and a side of Chinese broccoli. 1st- I have to say the vegetable fried rice is some of the best I have had. It is loaded with veggies not greasy at all and the added Tofu was crispy and perfectly cooked. 2nd- For those of you that have not had Chinese broccoli yet you must try it! It's like a cross between spinach and broccoli. This place prepares it in a light garlic sauce and it's amazing! We have had dinner delivered and today we had lunch delivered and I can easily say both meals were delivered fast, hot and delicious. For our dinner delivery we had a PuPu platter, egg foo young, orange chicken and chicken lo mein. The pupu had amazing shrimp, chicken fingers, beef teriyaki , egg rolls, pork strips and they were all very yummy. A lot of the time, the bbq pork pieces can be hard and chewy, but these were soft, hot and wonderful. Most of the time, the fried shrimp at many places is not much more than batter, but again not with Zhongs. Today we had lunch plates delivery and they gave us an ample amount of food, at a very reasonable cost. $6.25 to $7.00 for a large box of delicious Chinese food. Even comes with a free soda. Such amazing food. The dim sum is fabulous when available. Try the sticky rice and the steamed ribs. On the regular menu, the pork with pickled mustard greens is great! I have to say that the food is really bed. I don't know about dine-in but I had their lunch special. The fried rice tastes like white rice but dry and greasy. The food was out of flavor. Even the plastic fork they serve seems to be inferior. I can't pick up the food using it. I noticed that most of the really good reviews were pretty old (some older than 6 years!), and I think it's for a very good reason-the food was very mediocre! I ordered the dinner combo with Chicago Chicken Chow Mein, boneless ribs and fried wontons I also got wonton soup. Great food. It does get expensive when you substitute a lot on the dinners, but very good food. My new Chinese American restaurant, and I live in Milford NH...the Chinese food capital of NH...LOL. The food was very good. The boneless spare ribs were all meat and not fatty. Good find. The House Special Lo Mein and Fried Rice had large pieces of meat... not the chopped pieces I'm usually served. The Crab Rangoon was crispy with a tangy filling. The Chicken Wings were incredibly flavorful and cooked with a slight crisp to the skin. And our Hunan Style Beef had a wonderful brown sauce, a variety of vegetables and large pieces of beef!
