WOW! IT's like Chipotle but better. The had more meat selections, tamales, and 6 salsas not including the condiment ones and all made in house. If you like authentic Mexican salsas (Made from Scratch) this is going to be heaven for you. And the cost was half the amount that you pay at Chipotle. Zia would give Chipotle a run for it's money if it was in Denver. The only thing is that it's a quick casual kind of atmosphere. I guess it is what it is for fast casual service. I just wish there were more "mexican" restaurants that served this type of food but in more of a traditional restaurant feel. This location is just as great as the South location. The main difference is more patio space and the upstairs, which is Zia Cantina. This space is a hidden gem. It's so great up there! Cozy seating, great vibe, and the cocktails are super reasonably priced, fresh, creative, vibrant, and delicious. The new location is fire. I am really glad they made the move. The upstairs balcony is the best place to enjoy the best margs in town. I can't say enough about this place. The food is always on point. The staff is probably the best staff in Durango. I have never once had a bad experience here. Jose is the best. I always call up on Zia South on Saturday or Sunday mornings to order a half dozen tamales (roasted red pepper and pork green chile) to go and we enjoy them at home. Kudos to Martine's wife who makes them every week. She does an awesome job. I still haven't been in the new Zia North location but look forward to it. read more

The chocolate flavor was very mild, and the crunchy layer on the bottom was not particularly enjoyable nothing like a Dubai Chocolate. Overall, the food was excellent and deserving of praise. However, for a fine dining restaurant where both the food and drinks come at premium prices, the service fell well short of expectations. Great meals can make for a memorable evening, but attentive service is an important part of the fine dining experience, and unfortunately that was missing during our visit.
