Ziba's Bistro has an eclectic menu full of delicious-sounding items, like black-eyed peas de Tiare, jerk chicken pasta, roasted Brussels sprouts and djene chocolate cake. What did my child choose? The cheeseburger. Kids! What can you do? But honestly, I'm glad that Ziba's has a kids menu with a cheeseburger on it. Logan Street Market caters more to an adult palate, and Ziba's was one of the only stands in the food hall that had a kids' cheeseburger available. So, Ziba's saved the day. The cheeseburger came with potato wedge fries, and a special sauce that tasted like a parsley aioli. I like how Ziba's tried to sneak some foodie luxuriousness into even a kids meal. My child did end up trying the sauce because it was there, and he liked it. Sometimes, with kids, you need to just give them the thing and walk away, and then they will try it because it's novel. Speaking of giving something and walking away: The kind person behind the counter at Ziba's Bistro personally delivered our food to our table. They usually use a pager system and have you come up to the counter to get your own food, but I guess they weren't super busy, so the guy hand delivered. That's some great service! read more

Chef Ziba himself is charismatic and charming, and was endlessly helpful in recommending dishes based on my questions and preferences. After much deliberation, I settled on Langston's Caponata. This unique dish combines a variety of savory veggies (zucchini, eggplant, onions), cooked until tender, and served with a scoop of tomato sauce on rice. There are a variety of options for all dietary needs, including several vegetarian and vegan choices. I admit I didn't know what to make of Ziba's Bistro before finally trying the food. The menu had a lot of Italian and European influences, but it was hard to pin down. Then I got to learn a bit more about Ziba's: Chef Ziba was born in Burkina Faso and has studied the culinary arts in France and in the U.S. His menu reflects this. And then finally today I tried the food... Yeah, I get it now. And I'm pretty smitten. I got the Lamb Ouagalais on the recommendation of Melanie, who was working the register. This dish included lamb served in red sauce with herbs de provence over basmati rice. I believe she said it has an African background. This entree was new to me yet still full of comfort, like if it was a blanket I would curl up with it. It bridged the gap. The red sauce maybe was tomato based. It was savory, and the rice was the perfect complement. It helped soak up the delicious sauce. I also got the Brussels sprouts. These were simple, served with pepper and delicious. I got to chat with Chef Ziba for a few moments as well, and he radiated positivity. He and his food left me with a big smile on my face. read more

My first visit to Logan's Street Market and I'm disappointed to have picked Ziba's as my meal. I blame it on being with the kids and overwhelmed by the vendor choices. If you are in the mood for a burger or need an easy kids meal, you can find it here but otherwise consider taking your money elsewhere. We ordered 2 burger meals which comes with 2 patties and a fried egg. It says your side is frites but it's a fancy name for basic fries. The burger was decent but much like grilling it at home. I've never had egg on my burger and it was decent. I added cheese for $1 but wouldn't recommend it because with the egg you don't taste the cheese. A kids cheeseburger is 1 patty, no egg and comes with fries. For the adult and kids meal the price is fair. My husband got a seafood platter with pasta instead of rice. It was not very exciting and reminded me of frozen items. The worst of the meal was our brussel sprouts. TERRIBLE. I couldn't eat them because they were a soggy mess. My husband said he saw them being heated up in the microwave rather than prepped fresh. That was disappointing. Our food took a bit to prep but they gave us a pager to take to our table. That's nice especially if you're there with the kids because people are coming and going through the aisles to order and pick up food. read more

I stopped in to Logan Street Market in it's first week open for dinner. About half the food booths weren't open, so I was a bit limited in options. I am also in the midst of a rather strict fitness and nutrition program, so my options were even more limited. So I opted for a bunch of veggie options from Ziba's. For $10 you can get a veggie platter made up of the sides or vegetarian mains. I got the brussels sprouts, black eyed peas, and the caponata. I thought that the sprouts would be my favorite, but they ended up being my least liked item. I just wish they were crispier, for a roasted veggie option. The serving size was large, but I would take a smaller serving that wasn't so bland. The other two items were really good. The black eyed peas were exactly as I expected them to be. But the caponata was AWESOME. I didn't expect to like it so much, but I have been thinking fondly of it since eating it a week or so ago! It should definitely make it on to your "to-try" list. Food took a bit to come out, but that was forewarned, and when it came it was delicious. The staff is friendly and they helped me make my order choice in a way that got me what I wanted and saved me money. I would gladly return for another meal. read more

Ziba's Bistro offers delicious pasta options, like the Jerk Chicken Pasta. However, my boyfriend and I have settled into somewhat of a routine of getting the Eggplant Parmigiana and the Black Eyed Peas de Tiare and sharing both plus a side like the brussels for fries. The eggplant is definitely a star menu item, IMO. The black eyed peas are served in a deliciously salty tomato sauce. We've also tried the Caponata but if I'm getting eggplant I'd MUCH rather have the Parmigiana. There are other menu items I'll try eventually (like the lamb) but boy it's hard to resist the eggplant. During the pandemic, we have also ordered some sauces to-go to make pasta at home. The four cheese sauce is really decadent and delicious and I highly recommend trying it. Ziba and the team have been great at adhering to pandemic safety guidance. Definitely enjoyed my meal and I can't wait to go back! Located inside Logan Street Market, this was a hopping location that stayed busy and had a long line. The line went quick and the food came out in 15 minutes. The menu has a variety of different options and they even have a kid friendly options which is great for kiddos. I ordered the eggplant Parmesan meal and the hamburger. The eggplant Parmesan was oh so good and the burger had a good flavor. The burger get came with an egg on two patties and fries. I had dinner here on Saturday. I ordered the Frito Misto dish- fried shrimp, zucchini, and calamari served with a side of basmati rice and tomato sauce. I also got an order of fries. Frito Misto- This was so disappointing in almost every regard, except for the fact it was warm. The shrimp (3) were coated in what seemed like unseasoned cornmeal and deep-fried with the shell on and were not de-veined. On top of that, they were extremely overcooked. Tough, flavorless, shelled shrimp. As for the calamari (4-5 pieces), I can honestly say I've never had worse, and I hope I never do. Like the shrimp, cooked all to hell and flavorless. The texture was like dehydrated rubber. The zucchini (3 pieces) was pretty good, as were the rice and sauce (although the sauce was a bit bland). The dish was served with a side of tartar sauce. Overall, this was very poorly executed, bland, confusing, and overpriced. I paid 12 bucks for this weird plate of food. Fries- Fresh from the fryer and pretty standard looking. They didn't salt them! I was, again, so confused. I salted them and they were fine. Overall, I paid close to $20 for this insulting food. I can't allow myself to go back. Huge miss. read more

Ziba's catered my daughter's wedding this weekend. The food was fantastic. The green beans were still green when we were ready to serve and everything was the correct temperature. The guests l raved about the quality and taste. There were dietary restrictions which were not a problem for Ziba. The staff were helpful and understood the theme of the wedding. So, I recently began a keto diet program so many of the comfort foods I'd enjoyed over the years are now off limits. One of my all time favorites was chicken wings but most places bread or batter and fry so that been crossed off my list. Today my girlfriend brought home wings from Zibas Bistro. Upin seeing them i immediately thought "they look incredible , but I can't " . That's when she tells me they are naked wings that have been baked not fried. They are Keto compatible. They looked incredible , thickly caked with jerk spices and plump and juicy sitting on my plate. One bite in and my mouth exploded with sensations seldom experienced. The Jerk spice brought enough heat to make you experience the familiar Buffalo wing joy but added an earthy flavor that didn't overwhelm the flavor of the chicken itself. These wings were melt in your mouth tender with flavors fit for royalty. With no added sugars or carbs they alleviated any guilt of breaking ketosis . I've had wings from just about every place in Louisville and dozens of other cities but Zibas Bistro has the best wings EVER......its not even close. read more
