    Mantu

I loved coming to this place. The atmosphere is nice and cozy with staff that is extremely friendly. The food was so tasty. I got the Mantu and it was so delicious! I highly recommend trying this place out!

    Borani (Potato Stuffed Flat Bread)

Was in the area and heard Bellissimo had great Italian Food, but instead we tried the Afghan dishes. We were glad we did. The Matuu dumpling were fantastic. Very flavorful and stuffed with minced beef and spices. Had a little kick to them but really good . Reminded us of pot stickers. We also had the Baja Borani which was a sautéed eggplant. Very tasty dish and was served with flat bread. We had Bolzano stuffed flat bread filled with potatoes and was served with a green mint dipping sauce that was very flavorful. We would defiantly go back just for the Afghan dishes. We spoke with the owner and she said that all the Italian pasta is made in-house. Her husband worked at Vincenzo's for 15 years. This is a family ran restaurant. Very clean inside and very good service. Portions are large and they were accommodating so we could share the dishes. A must try place.

Bellissimo is a humble little food truck with stable Italian food. They tour East Side apartment communities often, and you can see their schedule from their social media! I was a little underwhelmed by their menu, and had the Chicken Alfredo. I think they used the same scoop so it tasted a little spicy. Regardless, the food was delicious but the portion was a little small. I don't eat much, but I didn't feel full after. You can see from the picture, for $8, it didn't get you much food. Their bread was delicious tho. I would probably order again if they come back!

I went all out and got the 16 layer lasagna, which has 4 different types of meats. Soooo good and the size was large enough that I had the leftovers again the next night. Can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu. One of the best Italian spots in Louisville - 5/5!

We all drank water, soda or tea and they kept our glasses filled. We ordered the pork chop dinner that came with risotto and vegetables. My husband loved the veggies and risotto but was not thrilled with the chop. He wishes he would have asked for a steak knife as it was difficult to cut with the butter knife provided. It was tender enough but neither of us cared for the flavor. I had the Primavera. It was a bit bland. I had to salt it several times. Our favorite part of the meal was dessert. We had a piece of lemoncello cake that was flavorful, creamy and light. We both thought it was great. We had about $20 left on our gift card and were disappointed we couldn't use the balance as the tip. So we ordered two more desserts to bring home to use the balance of the gift card. We brought homemade a piece of Italian cream cake that was as good or better than the lemoncello cake and it was a huge piece of cake. We also have a piece of caramel sea salt cheesecake which was pretty good. It was loud in the small space and a bit difficult to have a conversation across the table. The background music did not help with this issue. The staff were friendly and helpful boxing up our leftovers. Tables have white cloth tablecloths and the owner was making rounds to greet all the patrons which was nice. We discovered there is parking in the back of the restaurant, as so many of the spaces in the area have signs indicating you will be towed if you park there. We had to park on the street about a block down.

I ordered the shrimp and grits, and without exaggeration, they were the best I've ever had. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the balance of textures throughout the dish was incredible. Every bite had the perfect amount of crunch, flavor, and toppings. Nothing felt overwhelming or out of place. It was one of those meals where you find yourself slowing down just to enjoy every bite. Even the water deserves a mention. It was clean, crisp, and refreshing. If it came straight from the tap, I would have never known. It's a small detail, but it speaks to the overall dining experience when even something as simple as water stands out. The service was great, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. It's easy to see why this restaurant has built such a strong reputation. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 comes down to accessibility. As a person with a disability, parking can make or break a dining experience. Unfortunately, there was no handicap parking available, and there were no nearby parking spots open when I arrived. I ultimately had to park in a hotel lot about a block away, which cost $25 for just two hours. Not only was the cost frustrating, but the additional distance was challenging given my mobility needs. The food was phenomenal and absolutely worth trying, but I do hope accessibility becomes part of the conversation for future guests. For those without mobility concerns, this may not be an issue, but for disabled patrons, it's something important to consider before visiting.
