This is how close I was to what I saw WHILE I WAS EATING!!!
Truman B.

I have eaten at Zigs for many years, as I live relatively close to them. I've never reviewed them before, and I would have given it 5 stars except for something that I saw the last time I went there. Before I get to that, here's my overall review: it is a diner - no more, no less. But it is a good diner and I happen to like diners. VERY intimate little spot and you know (usually) exactly what you will get there; good diner food and great and caring service from always sociable servers. They basically kill you with kindness. Here is what I saw the last time I visited. I posted a picture of the little diner so that on this particular occasion, you could see my point of view. I could not help but witness what happened. One of the wait staff (who I found out later was named "Precious") just strolled on over to that mirror, put her face very close to it and, as she looked at herself, began to... wait for it... pop her pimples - I kid you not! She was there, without exaggeration, for a good minute and a half, which, think about it, is quite a long time when you are doing something like that in public. I was in mid-chew, and I could not stop looking at her. It was hard to believe what my eyes were actually seeing. I am NOT trying to be mean here, but it was such an off-putting sight that I just had to write about it. It's a good thing I wasn't eating, say, vanilla pudding or some such thing when I witnessed this. I would have just lost it!

I kept passing this place and I decided to go in and is definitely one of my favorites spots. It's a small location but it comes with a lot of personality from the food, food to the staff. The prices and portions are awesome. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I ordered a breakfast burrito that was so yummy. The Redneck Benedict was so good it was by far my favorite. Will definitely come back and try other dishes. Highly recommend this pla

Steak and Eggs Breakfast

I can't believe this place on has 3.9 stars. Ok I get it, the outside doesn't look like much and looks closed but the quality of the food is great and it's flavorful ! And the prices can't be beat this is my new favorite spot :)

The atmosphere is casual and…read morefestive, with TV's playing sports and a varied crowd that includes daters, older couples, families and singles making the most of their weekend. There's music that's lively without being overbearing, and the staff is uniformly friendly. But... You have to order at the bar and, though they have runners to bring your food, you do have to hunt them down for anything after the delivery (extra ketchup, etc). While this isn't my favorite system at my age, to be fair, whatever the owners are saving on staff is reflected in the prices, which are absolutely below most places in the area for food that is good-quality and drinks that are generously poured. So yes, my wife's Espresso Martini was served in a deep-bellied Belgium beer glass, and my whiskey neat was a hefty pour. Yay!! For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.

The space was welcoming, even if it was pretty much empty (again, I was there on a weeknight). Honestly, Shake Shack does an awesome job with the smash burger, and I think they've got it down to a science. We tried the double burger, ordered some fries, and had some vanilla custard with it. All were really tasty, and the double burger in particular was juicy and crispy in the ways that you hope for in a smash burger. If I could offer a couple of just general notes...Shake Shack runs some offers for BOGO burgers from time to time, and that's why we came in. I really don't know why they're always limited to a single burger, which I don't think is substantial enough for me, and not the right balance of meat to toppings. When they run the BOGO specials, it'd be awesome to be able to do a double burger from time to time...I feel like we walked out of there spending way more than we needed to, just to feel full. Another minor suggestion - please offer some kind of combo with the fries...personally, I don't like the a la carte model. That said, big fan of the flavor, the burger, the fries, and the desserts! Just something to add to the mix!
