The three Amigos working here performance was fantastic. Everything came out hot and fresh and on time. Plenty of parking available in the back lot at 7 pm. No worries and just enjoy a very appetizing dinner with the family. They space heater too just in case it gets cold and breezy at night. Close at 9pm. Standard operation time for this area. Worth the price. We went to Zinc last week and had the most delicious brunch. My daughter had the classic breakfast (2 eggs, hashbrowns and bacon I think) I had the Lemon Ricotta pancakes and the iced chai. The Lemon Ricotta pancakes are topped with fresh berries and are some how both perfectly dense and light and fluffy? Soooo delicious. The lemon flavor is just right - not too sweet and not too tart. I think it's one and done here. We went to the Laguna Beach location in October and really enjoyed it. The staff was very friendly and quick and the food was good. We had the chilaquiles. This visit at this location was a complete disaster. We came at opening. Everyone should be prepared and ready to go, right? We walked in and only dinner menus were available so they brought us breakfast menus after a few minutes. I ordered a passion fruit iced tea and Steven ordered the hibiscus iced tea. We waited, and waited and waited. Twenty minutes later we were informed that the hibiscus would be another twenty minutes so I told the server that we will both just do water instead. Five minutes later he set my passion fruit tea down anyway. After thirty minutes now we were told that they are understaffed and the egg poaching machine was not working and asked if I would like fried or scrambled eggs. I said fried. About five minutes later, after about thirty five minutes we received our food, and I had a poached egg. So, what was that about? Unfortunately my chilaquiles came with a brown avocado and very, very soggy chips. Usually, there are crunchy chips for a bit in the beginning. This was all mush. Steven liked his scrambled eggs and leeks dish but one of his pieces of toast looked like there was a bite taken out of it. I could barely eat my dish and just picked at it. I mostly ate the strips of lettuce. What a complete waste of money. During this time I observed the other three groups of people who came in and they all had their food and drinks fast. Naturally, we were never checked on, not once. Steven had to wave his card around to get their attention. They brought the bill after a few minutes and he told them to just take the card right away. After an hour I had a few bites of mush, Steven was luckily able to eat, and we left with a complete lack of customer service and nothing to make up for it. read more

Zinc is part of the list of restaurants in Resy/American platinum partnership so I decided to take my son for brunch on a Sunday. The restaurant is located in old town Orange in a really cute historic building with a nice outdoor courtyard. I asked for an outdoor seat since there were a ton of open tables but was told all were reserved so we were seated inside. We ordered 3 dishes Salmon bagel - Usually this is served as open face sandwich with salmon on each half of the bagel but this was served as sandwich style however they really skimped on the salmon. For $22 I would not order this again Nicois tuna salad - this was a deconstructed salad with 4 pieces of lettuce each holding a salad ingredient: tomatoes, green beans, eggs, kamalata olives. The tuna portion was small and overall the dish was pretty disappointing. This by itself will not fill you. For $25 I would not order this again. Italian sandwich with side of lentil soup - $18 This was a simple sandwich made in the focaccia bread from Costco. Skimpy on the meat as with the other dishes. It was just ok. I wouldn't order this again either. Overall the experience was ok but food was below average. I would not make my way out to eat here again. Service was ok. Parking was available a few blocks down on the street. When we left the tables in the courtyard were still open so I don't even know if they were ever reserved. read more

I had the pleasure of dining at Zinc Cafe in the city of Orange for the first time this afternoon. From the moment we were seated, my friend Aimée & I felt genuinely welcomed. Our main server Yesenia, as well as another very personable server Alex, truly went above & beyond to make my first time experience pleasant & memorable. Outstanding customer service from a restaurant is paramount in my estimation and both Yesenia, as well as Alex, went above and beyond to make our dining experience perfect! Yesenia was so sweet and always smiled when she interacted with us. She knew the menu quite well and answered our questions thoroughly about meal selections. When Alex walked by to offer us a bottle of water, I asked his opinion about the Chipotle Chicken Sandwich. He mentioned it was his favorite item on the menu, so I tried it. He was right! The chicken was tender & juicy and that sandwich had just the right blend of Chipotle chili smoky flavor. It was mouth-watering. They were both attentive without being intrusive, always checking in at the right times, and their warmth & professionalism really stood out. It's rare to find a team so dedicated to creating such a positive dining experience. The food was excellent ( including that delicious Cheesecake we shared for dessert), but what truly set this visit apart was the SERVICE! Because of Yesenia & Alex's naturally personable ways, I'll definitely be coming back. I later found out that Alex is also a bartender here, so I'll have to return one night to try one of his signature cocktails. I will highly recommend Zinc Cafe & Bar to friends & family. I've been a Zinc Café fan for decades, the Laguna Beach location has always been a favorite, so I was happy to find the Orange location on Glassell St. I've been twice and both visits were lovely. The first time, I stopped in with a friend while visiting her daughter at CHOC. We had a drink before dinner and enjoyed the darling little bar area toward the front -- such a cozy, welcoming spot. I went back last week for lunch with my niece after her wedding dress fitting. She's gluten-free, and Zinc is always a safe (and delicious!) choice with plenty of great options. I ordered the Grain Bowl, which was fabulous as always, fresh, flavorful, and perfectly satisfying. I love you so much. I came home and attempted to re-create it two days in a row.
