I have been craving brunch foods, but lacked the motivation to do anything about it...until this weekend. I found Zingers Deli through Uber Eats. The Challah French Toast was just what I was looking for...nothing innovative here just solid French toast in an amazingly huge portion. I liked it! I'm certain most of their customers drive Buick's and Lincoln's, lol. Solid little deli in Boca serving up some decent sandwiches and stuff. I arrived around noon and was seated right away at a small table. My waiter came over and brought me a water and menu. I was never asked nor did I receive this complimentary cole slaw or pickles that others mention in their reviews but oh well. I was in a Jewish deli so I knew I needed to order a Reuben or Matzah Ball soup right? I went with the Reuben. Comes with french fries or you can sub sweet potato fries another buck. I kept the regular ones. I did my usual while dining alone and read the news on my Ipad. When the food arrived I was pleasantly surprised. The sandwich was the perfect sized portion and the rye bread was nicely toasted, the cheese melted and the meat was hot. In addition to my fries was an order of that creamy coleslaw and a couple of pickles on my plate. The sandwich was pretty dynamite. Everything melded together bringing out all the wonderful flavors. The fries were so, so, basically no flavor so I doused them good with salt and peppa. The coleslaw was the same way so it also got a good dousing of salt and peppa as well. Our third visit in 3 months confirms my feeling about Zinger's. Dad's been going there for years and said it used to be much better. On a Wednesday at 1pm, the place was nearly empty except for one other person. Same with our prior visits - nearly empty. Order was an okay tasting Rachel with regular fries. Presentation was about as unexciting as a typical greasy spoon. Last time I got sweet potato fries, which were pretty good, but the server charged full price for the SP fries instead of the $1 extra, so I opted for the regular fries, which I usually avoid these days. Even so, it took our server much longer than usual to ring up our order on her handheld. Something didn't feel right about it. This time she charged for two fountain sodas when we ordered one soda and one water. The food is mediocur at best, but the consistent misbilling leaves a sour taste that ruins everything. No surprise that the place is always empty. Good deli are never empty. read more

From reading all the comments either we went on a bad day or way too many people have taste issues. I had the brisket sandwich... I didn't think brisket smothered in sauteed onions, horseradish, on rye could literally be tasteless, but it was just that...and I mean tasteless (I even had my family try it to triple check and yep, bland) My brother had the Reuben which was also bland at best and my husband had the French dip (not offered at all locations because he had to go to another location to get it) it was not worth the extra trip... The fries tasted like they were fried cooled and refried. They were dry, hard and had no seasoning. Oh, and The pickles were TERRIBLE. We're HUGE pickle eaters of all kinds and these were the worst! I have walked in to this restaurant on two different occasions, stood at the counter for a long time and walked out both times. The counter person also seats people, answers the phones and helps people trying to get a takeout order. Not even a "hello" or "I will be right with you". No acknowledgement at all. Not even a smile. The two times I ate in the dining room the server was like a ghost. One minute he (or she) was running around trying to help and then disappeared. Asking another server to help was not helpful at all. Waiting a solid ten minutes for our server to come out of hiding isn't cool when your dinner isnt what you expected and you need to send it back. The worst was when I ordered a brisket sandwich and they gave me the wrong sandwich altogether and I sat waiting and no one came to check on us. My friend had to walk up to the register and ask for assistance and he was not happy and refuses to go back. I have been back several times but strictly for takeout. Placing takeout orders over the phone is nerve wracking. If they answer the phone they usually put you on hold. Remember the person taking the phone orders is the same person who is seating the people too. But lately I have been lucky and have been able to place a few orders to take home. That makes me happy since I really do like the food. My first time I went for dinner and ordered the Mish Mosh Soup. Caution: if you order this soup do not order anything else. This is a meal in itself and you will be full after you eat it. Mish Mosh is chicken soup with matzo balls, kreplach and kasha varnishkas. Kreplach are small dumplings with a meat filling. Sort of like wontons but better! The soup is very good. I recommend trying it, especially if you like kreplach and kasha varnishkas. My second time I ordered the stuffed cabbage which wasn't very good. I tried to eat it but after two bites I gave up. My friend had them bring me a brisket sandwich to replace the stuffed cabbage. Within just a few minutes someone dropped off my sandwich. No comments, he just dropped it off at our table and hurried off. As I went to take a bite I realized they messed up the order and gave me pastrami. So I went from having inedible stuffed cabbage to a sandwich that I didn't even order. I was getting crankier by the minute and I wanted to leave as soon as possible. That night I went home, got into my pajamas and went to heat up my knish. To my surprise my potato knish turned out to be a kasha knish. Not what was ordered but I was starving and it was good. They make a delicious chicken noodle soup that I really enjoy. I also like the potato knishes. The brisket is a little fatty but overall it is very good. If you can get them to answer the phone, Zingers is a great place to grab some takeout. read more

I think this is my first review where I'm starting by giving credit to the strength of earlier Yelp reviews in getting me here. I mean, who could have known that a restaurant named Zinger's was going to be an absolutely terrific deli? Zinger's? Since my first visit, however, I had the opportunity to meet the owner, Gary Zinger, so now I do get it. Gary is a very nice fellow, and obviously passionate about turning out top notch deli food. But, now Gary, should we perhaps consider naming your great deli Gary Zinger's? Anyway, I am happy to report that, unusual name aside, this is a really good deli. It makes me want to take a star away from another area deli that I gave 5 stars to recently. My other 5 star area deli was very good, and I tend to be generous with Jewish delis because I'm concerned that really good Jewish delis are a dying breed, and I always want to hope that a strong review for this kind of restaurant will help keep the specialness of this ethnic food going well into the future. But truly, I have to say, that one was not quite as good as Zinger's. Zinger's is now going to be my "go to" deli going forward, and it is a good 1/2 hour drive for me. But that's OK. Zinger's is the best Jewish deli food I've tried in the area, and that includes Pastrami Club, Ben's, and Pomperdale. And all three of those are very good, but it's just my opinion that they're not quite this good. My companion and I each had two 1/2 sandwiches - tongue on rye, and pastrami on onion roll. Wow - really tender and juicy and very, very tasty. Loved them both. A lot. I was absolutely in heaven over the tenderness of the pastrami. Nice portions, and perfectly complimented by the gratis 1/2 sour pickles and coleslaw. The pickles were so good, in fact, that I bought a couple to go from the deli counter that is part of the large room that includes the tables and booths. I also took home a slice of the 7 layer cake, which I devoured last night. I mean, that was one moist cake, exploding with chocolate frosting and yellow cake flavors that made it one of the best layer cakes I have ever had. Also took home 1/2 pound of rugelach, a mix of the chocolate, raspberry and apricot. All good, but I do give the edge to the chocolate. It's a very plain, but clean room. Seating was comfortable. But most of all, go there for the food. I am really looking forward to returning soon. Service was excellent. Robert was our friendly and knowledgeable server, but what I really liked was that when I needed something - in my case, I once asked for yellow mustard, once for more of the great pickles - when Robert wasn't in the area, Laura was absolutely friendly and helpful in taking care of our requests. I just find that rare - when one server will cover for another and give the impression that they're happy to help out. Laura brought us things on several occasions, and even though we were at Robert's table, she treated us as enthusiastically as if we had been at one of her's. The young lady behind the counter said we need to try their "spectacular" brisket sandwich next time. I will. And I expect there will be many more "next times". read more

In fact, ever since the legendary Nestor's closed, good Jewish deli food got all the harder to find; thankfully, though, Zinger's is here. The vast majority of their clientele are conservative eaters looking more for familiarity than adventure, and this is largely reflected in the menu. I ordered the "overstuffed" corned beef sandwich, and that's just what I got: two pieces of bed, chock full of sliced meat. Even at a fairly steep $10.50 for just bread and meat, this is some pretty good cost performance, and according to the menu, they even pickle their own meats. The meat is indeed tasty. Texture-wise, I find it to be just in the middle between "perfectly moist" and "a little on the dry side". Perhaps having long left my hometown nest has raised my culinary expectations, but I found it difficult for my tastebuds to stay thoroughly engaged up through the end of the sandwich, even with the complimentary coleslaw and pickles. But nitpicking aside, the fact is that you will get a decent meal and great service here. Despite the 3-star rating, it's at least a full star better than the majority of the other delis in town (including Toojay's...), and I see myself coming back again to try more of their stuff. Matzoh Ball soup from fresh stock with the fat skimmed off and the sodium at low levels for those of us who appreciate being able to add our own. The menu for a deli is deep, and, in spite of the complaint about the pricing, I would say that they are very deli competitive. The service was excellent! We had a great meal here in the late afternoon when the place was nearly empty so great service and just the right banter from the server Robert wasn't a surprise. We both started with Lentil soup with pieces of all beef hot dogs. Haven't had this in years, since my mother would spend all day preparing it. It was so good with the standard small shreds of beef, cut up hot dogs and perfectly tender lentils. It had a slightly acidic note which made it even better. I'm sure the other choices would have been stellar; Matzo ball or split pea soup. Love homemade, slow cooked soups. For entrees I had the sliced brisket with a side of Kasha and bow ties. For the uninitiated it's roasted buckwheat grouts (a whole grain) with sauteed onions, cooked down in beef stock with bow tie noodles. It just doesn't get any better with the brisket gravy poured over it. I ordered it as two of my included sides. My wife's stuffed cabbage was huge and delicious too. She of course had the Kasha as I NEVER had it until I married her. How lucky can one man be to have a good looking wife and she knew all about Kasha Varnishkas. Lastly we picked up some in-house made chopped liver. Who thought something so cholesterol-filled could be so good. Loved the bowls of excellent coleslaw and pickles brought to the table. As a New Yorker the bar is set high. I had great hopes for this deli especially since it is located in Boca. I can say the pickles were good. We ordered pastrami on rye which was served cold and the portion on the skimpy side. Even the bread was put on backwards. The pastrami lacked the usual pungent seasoning found in good pastrami that has been sitting in a great brine for days. The potato pancakes had the consistency/texture of a crabcake instead of shredded potatoes in a hash brown-like form. We were very disappointed. Average food and terrible service. We went on a Sunday around 11:30 and the place was empty. In spite of that, the manager offered us a table near a packed table or a small table where you had to sit on top of someone. My husband asked to sit at 3 different tables, but the manager refused to accomodate us saying that she did not to overwhelm the servers. So, we left. Thank you! Haven't had a Zingers sandwich in a long time but I stopped in today to pick up some deli sandwiches for dinner with my family. Wow! Zingers never disappoints. The hot pastrami is off the charts. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are always a great meal at Zinger's. Clean, friendly and delicious, the restaurant never disappoints. Even a casual trip for takeout is always a pleasant experience for myself and my family. I particularly LOVE the tuna salad - I can't leave the place without a tub to take home, and their bagel chips are always the perfect pair for a great snack at home. Called to discuss options to do a pick-up for my Passover Seder tonight during this difficult time. Lisa answered the phone and was EXTREMELY rude. Told me that "she's too busy to talk right now and she can't place an order and if I'd like to place an order I can come into the restaurant". I have been here multiple times. The food is very good. It is one of the better delis in town. However, sometimes I feel the same sandwiches can use a bit more meat. The brisk sandwich is my favorite. They are also accommodating when I ask for gravy. The matzo ball soup is extremely fresh. It is a must have when you visit! My only issues are the clientele & restaurant setup. There is no easy way to say this, the clientele tend to be much older people. Just be aware going in. I am not a fan of the restaurant setup. Perhaps I just like a good old fashioned deli better, but the TVs, color of the restaurant, & other factors are to sleek & cold feeling for me. But, you may like it! The food at Zingers is amongst the best in town. Juniors in Mizner Park is very commercial. If you can get past the minor issues I mentioned, I highly suggest you try it. read more

I read the reviews and almost didn't go. That would have been a big mistake. I ordered a cup of Matzo Ball soup, brisket on rye and a side of latke. Brought 1/2 home. Let's be clear, I'm a pain in the butt. But this place rocked. The matzo ball soup was excellent. Light and fluffy matzos with a fresh homemade broth. The brisket was excellent and the Cole slaw side was cold and crunchy. Brisket was tender. The latke was a bit on the heavy side but I make mine from my Polish Grandmas recipe which requires freshly dug potato's that we grow. Made the day they were dug so tough to beat. But, they were hot, crisp and very tasty. And then the service. Perfection. My server was "Mama" (THE Mama?). And I loved her. Didn't skip a beat. She was super attentive and so were the host, bus boy and other servers. They couldn't be nicer. I will definitely be back! If you love Subway, this is not your place. Subway is gross. I've only tried Zinger's once, but I would try it again based on their extensive menu with a lot of my favorites. I did not care for my food on the first outing. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and found it very dried out with terrible bread. Once I put the coleslaw that came with it on to the sandwich it was much better. I also ordered soup because they had kreplach but the soup was weak and watery and the kreplach doughy. I did not order the fries but they appear to be hand cut and looked delicious and I will order them on my next visit. The breakfast menu also looks very nice. My daughter recommended the brisket sandwich there so I will try that and hope for better bread. The experience wasn't terrible but not thrilling either. read more

I used to frequent this deli quite a bit. It went way down after COVID -- $20 omlette on a plastic plate, service at the counter, etc. Now that things are back to normal, Zinger's has not returned to normal. I decided to order a chicken salad sandwich to go. It cost me $15.00 and I wasn't even offered letttuce, tomato, onion, toasted bread, etc. Just chunks of chicken drenched in mayo on rye bread. I did receive a pickle and small container of cole slaw, but how can you justify charging $15 for a sandwich and not at the very least ask me if I want lettuce, tomato, and/or onion on it? Full dinners are a great value and guarantee plenty of leftovers to take home. What a disappointment!!! Zingers was our go-to place, while in Boca for the winter. We ate there at least once a week. We were shocked to see that prices for dinners went up FOUR DOLLARS since last April!!! That's outrageous! Brisket still good, but much less meat on the sandwich and the au jus wasnot natural and tasted like beef bullion concentrate-INEDIBLE!!. Asked for extra bread for the sandwich and was told there would be a 50 cent charge!!! Our previous servers, over the years, never charged us for bread and even gave us butter and ALWAYS gave us extra slices for the table. I order a turkey club it was just awful. The bacon was end pieces and a lot of fat. There was so much lettuce on the sandwich that I almost couldn't find the turkey. The lettuce also was old the tomato was rotten and their rye bread was end pieces. When they give you a pickle it was so small 2 bites and it was eaten. It's been three days since my experience at Zingers, and I'm still thinking about our lovely server (I think her name was Karen) and the quality Guest Service she provided (I'm a manager of a Guest Service department at Disney, so I truly appreciated her cheerful disposition and willingness to help). The latke tots were crisp and flavorful, and I loved the presentation (they were served in a mini frying basket). For my main course, I had the Nova platter - and the smoked salmon was flawless, easily the best I've had in a restaurant. No table service offered. You order at the counter and they do bring the food to your table. They ask you how much of a tip do you want to leave before you even get your food. Stopped in to have a quick lunch before heading to the airport. Had a really light and fluffy Swiss cheese omelette with what I believe were hand cut fries cooked in peanut oil! Food was tasty and fresh! Prices seemed to me to be on the high end. read more
