AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!! If there is minus 5 stars, I would give it to this place. I purchased a 4 Tire Installation Service from this place through Amazon where I also purchased the tires so when I choose the installation service it was clear which tire sizes it is for. The reason I purchased from this place even though I live in Redwood City is because it was $25 cheaper. When I showed up at the place, They were already dealing with another customer who I think also had a problem with their repair but not exactly sure what the deal is but looked like the guy was frustrated. I had to sit in my car as I saw no place to sit there, and I had to wait almost 15-20 for someone to show up to help me, The guy looked at my car and said oh, you have 19 size tires, I was like so ? what is the big deal ? He said it will be $5 extra per tire, so $20 more which makes it more expensive than the Tire place in Redwood city which is way more professional than this place. When I said the tire size didn't matter before, I had like 3-4 times tire installation for my other cars as well, the guy started getting irritated, he said if you don't want to do it you can leave, I said I drove for almost 30 mins plus bridge fare to come here and I have to put up with this rude crap. He didn't even tried to help, I think their main business is to lure customers from Amazon with cheap prices and overcharge them at spot because I guess some people don't care, $20 is not much but their rude attitude and stupid reason to overcharge, They freaking use the same machine to change the tire, I don't know what's the deal with the $5, I already agreed on the $2.5 disposal fee for tires. So If I agreed with this place, I would have paid $108 instead of $73. I left the place because their attitude towards a customer sucked and the place didn't look professional at all, Then I drove to Big-oTires in Redwood City and had the whole thing done for $100, which is $8 cheaper and way better professional service plus it's 5 minutes from house. I would avoid this place at all costs unless you like surprise costs :) I also contacted Amazon about their service standards as this is basically wrong advertising and I lost almost 1 hour of my time plus gas and bridge fare. read more

In today's busy world customer service has been forgotten, every single time I've been to his shop I've experienced amazing customer service! He just gets it! Be transparent about you can and can not do. If you can not diagnose an intermittent transmission problem (which I clearly explained upfront) for 45 dollars then tell me upfront instead of telling me after letting me sign a 'service' agreement that diagnosing such a problem would actually cost 900 dollars (meaning the transmission would have to be opened). Why would I want to spend those 45 dollars in that case? Which is not even true because dropping the transmission oil pan and taking a look at the metal in there should be enough. read more

I hope my review doesn't get filtered because for some reason I'm the only one with a 5 star review, but I have had nothing but great repeat experiences! My car needed some speed sensors and it was easier for my boyfriend to take it to the shop. He had already bought the sensors and happened to find this little gem of a spot to get them installed. I know he was stressing on getting my car fixed, but after he met with Abdul and got it done in 15 minutes he was relieved. So relieved, he decided to bring 2 more of his cars over there. This is probably the best car shop I have ever visited. They are under new management and are doing exactly what they should to ensure a positive customer experience. This is a smaller shop that's a little hidden on the side of the road--a true hidden gem. I brought in my car to have HIDs installed and a dashcam connection hot-wired into my car. I met with Abdullah, who helped me with my work. Ostensibly, the HID installation should have taken about 2-4 hours max (per the generic instructions I had received), but Abdullah had to spend essentially three days working on them due to a combination of manufacturer defect, incorrect parts, and improper fit. On top of that, he had to go out of his way to strategize and essentially jerry rig a way to make the set-up work with the incomplete and faulty parts I had received from the company that had retrofitted my HIDs. Abdullah was not sparse with his advice and tips about maintaining my car, the equipment I purchased, and most of all, was very creative in coming up with solutions to problems that I had not yet conceived, including issues left by a different shop that previously worked on my car. The company is very accessible: they offer pick up and drop offs in the nearby tri-city area, are flexible with working hours (even willing to work on the car when their business hours would indicate otherwise), and are very reasonable with pricing. It's too early to comment on the longevity of the work/modifications that we had done, but I had a chance to watch the work on my car. I have absolutely no doubt that the quality of the work will be identical to the high level of quality customer service that I have received. I have one out-of-warranty car that I will be bringing to Zipin Out Auto Service any time I need any work done. I know that I can contact Abdullah or the shop directly, and have all my concerns personally handled. I intend on bringing my current car once it's out of warranty as well to this shop. I had a very frustrating experience with the original retrofit for my HIDs (not manufactured by Zipin Out), but I am glad that I did, because had I not, I would not have discovered my new favorite car shop. Zipin Out recently replaced an alternator, an oil seal, and a CV axle on my 2002 Subaru Outback H6 LL Bean Edition with almost 290k miles. The work was completed on time and the labor rate was better than many other shops I have used in the past. They also provide a warranty on their work. About 70-days later, approximately 6,000 miles later, the new CV Axle went bad, so I called them back up. They promptly got me into their shop and replaced the failed axle with another new axle. I completely understand that sometimes new parts fail and a CV axle is no exception. They stood behind their warranty and got me back on the road quickly. They put the "rat" in frustRATion!! I returned here today, 12/14/11 because a battery I bought from them on 9/17/11 had gone south. A regular, GOOD, mechanic would have taken out my old battery, replaced it under warranty, put it in my car and send me on my way. But, nooooo. Bob the mechanic's decision was for me to go to the auto parts store they got the battery from, pay for a new one out of pocket, bring the new one back to the shop for installation and then bring the old battery back to the auto parts store and get a refund. Did I mention I'm 53 years old and disabled? Now I've waited 25 minutes for him to figure out how to reset the battery light ... he can't. Add on another 20 minutes while I wait for him to do the paperwork. All this while watching them look at me, converse in Tagalog and laugh uproariously. I'm not amused. Run, don't walk, as far away as you can from this shop. I was happy with them a year ago but they've changed owners ... and obviously, good business practice. read more

First of all you arrive and there's 4 businesses side by side. I didn't know where the office was since there is no sign to indicate it's location so I just walk into the shop and the office is on the left. The person behind the counter is helping another person so I wait. While I wait they seem to argue over how a smart key works which seemed silly. I finally get acknowledged and they pull my vehicle in. Then the counter guy and the mechanic are in the shop and seem to be arguing. Once the counter guy comes in he tells me that it's going to cost me MORE to install the fog lights which came in 1 kit. I'm sure if this is an amazon issue or what. I paid a single price and being asked to pay more. Then the owner of the neighbor business came over and complained that ZIPIN or the other businesses have too many vehicles here. This is sooooo unprofessional. I've been here almost an hour with a 2pm appointment and they barely started at 3pm. Luckily I stayed and watched because the headlights and fog lights I came to replace were getting wired wrong and the mechanic didn't know until I pointed it out. WTF! Me and my wife was there to have brand new tires installed for our 2006 Toyota Scion that we purchased from Amazon on 5/14/2016 at 0930 hrs. I was referred to this place by Amazon and we called and confirmed the price for $40.00 for 2 front tires for a small 4 cylinder car. I was there a day before to check and confirm that there is no catch and the owner said that there is no catch since there are no charges on labor. After I got the tires installed, he demanded for $5.00 per tire for disposal service and was taken back by his unprofessional behavior. So I took the tire with me and just paid $40.00 cash since he wouldn't accept credit card and to top it he didn't give me a receipt. They put the dirty used tires which came from the front wheels on the rear seats. So basically if there is a problem he would deny that the service was ever performed. I would not deal with this company ever. Very shady and corrupt practice. We had dealt with this company 12 yrs ago and had bad service, but the owner said that this business has been passed 5 times ownership since. I am in a process of reporting this business to the BBB. After this I would rather pay a little more than get treated like this. Today(5/18/2016) at 1615 hrs I went back again to ask for a receipt for the work done on my 2006 Toyota Scion and he refused saying the work wasn't done there and I was unethical in reporting it to the yelp and that if I had an issue we could have talked about it. He then went to tell me to call Goodyear or any other company to confirm if they charged tire disposal fee. I told him that the other tire place I went several times never charged for disposing the tires and that he should be honest and told that in the beginning. He should have disclosed it before the work was done. I told him that I was recording and left. At 1625 hrs I called that business to get a name of that person and he said that he is not giving his name to strangers and that he is going to call the police and claim that I am harassing him. I still don't have his name ( man with a grey beard) but do have his business card. I told him that I was going to report him to the Better Business Bureau. read more

Had bad experience at this auto repair shop. Wife had been coming here for years for routine maintenance. My Honda Accord had broken mirror, so we brought here. Repair shop put replacement mirror on car, but the mirror cover is black while original is white. I had to be firm that needed cover to match, which could be done for extra cost by sub-contractor. Was told be done on a Friday, came Saturday and was not done. Was promised to be done Monday. Instead got call Monday evening stating could not do it and put broken mirror back on car. I was told would refund my initial payments for within 1 day, but did not happen. Also was difficult dealing with owner, whose response whenever called out on not following through on promises is to bluntly ask "what do you want me to do?" To negotiate a response action instead of offering realistic options. There are plenty of other shops along Cedar or nearby in Fremont that can do auto repair at reasonable rates on time with decent customer service. read more

I purchased a car from Chris at Auto World Fremont and it needed some work. He called Abdul at 7pm on a Saturday to see if he could drop it off that night so maybe they could prep and repair/replace the items that needed to be replaced. Abdul and his mechanic came in the next day, Sunday and prepped the car, replaced a motor mount and replaced the brakes and rotors on the front wheels. So what is so special about that, you ask. Well its all about customer service and knowing your job well enough to get it done in the quickest amount of time without cutting corners. Abdul knows his automobiles and he knows how to get the job done right the first time. From someone who is in the business of maintaining aircraft I appreciate that, I also appreciate the fact that he would go out of his way to get a car ready on a Sunday, when most people would have said,"The earliest I can have it for you is Monday more like Tuesday."
