We live in Tempe and had a break in our cast iron sewer line from our kitchen. We had multiple companies come out to quote the job, and they all told us we needed a hole in our kitchen floor to fix the line before it could be lined. We were dreading going into the floor because we have no extra tiles, and we didn't want to have to replace the whole kitchen floor. Jeremy from Zippity Split came out for a quote. He told us he could do the liner without a hole. We asked if he was sure since every other person said they'd need a hole to access the spot before lining. He told us that in 98-99% of cases they could do the liner without a hole. He was confident. Even after we told him that everybody who had scoped the line pulled up mud, he was confident. He also assured us that the company was cost conscious and would consider all workarounds if we needed a hole. He suggested under our refrigerator or tying into the laundry as alternatives since we didn't have more tile. We decided to go with Zippity Split, even though they were not the lowest quote, specifically because of Jeremy's confidence that we wouldn't need a hole and his seemingly creative approach if we were the 1-2% who did need to dig. The techs arrived the next day to start the work and they quickly learned what all the other companies had told us. That they would not be able to do the work without digging a hole in the middle of the kitchen. Since Jeremy told us otherwise, they called him. When Jeremy returned it was quickly apparent that the other options would not work, and we would need the hole. My husband who was there at the time was frustrated and the more he talked with Jeremy, we realized we didn't trust him or Zippity to do the job. We told Jeremy we would pay them for their labor for the day and that we were going with the cheaper quote. Jeremy then told us the labor for the day would be $1850. That is 27% of the original quoted price for the job he said he could do without digging a hole, and it left us in the same situation we were in before they arrived. At that point, my husband was really frustrated by Jeremy's ethics and attitude. We understood that we would owe money for the company's time that day, but 27% is excessive. We ultimately paid them the $1850 because we would rather work with a company that we trusted more. I recommend that if you call Zippity Split, you go into the job cautiously. If other companies told you they need to dig, Zippity Split will too. read more

I called Zippity Split Plumbing to get a second opinion on a main sewer line issue I was experiencing after seeing positive comments about them on social media and online reviews. There was a clog in the main sewer line causing a backup. The first company I called (Precision) came out and ran a snake down the line, but they were unable to clear the line even though the snake made it all the way to the septic tank. They then ran a camera down the line from inside the house, but nothing could really be seen as the line was full of water. They ran the line from the outside clean out toward the inside of the house and got to a point where the line appeared blocked. The plumber said that it looked like there may be a partial collapse. He then suggested that the line needed to be repaired with a liner (CIPP) at an estimated cost of $11,000! to include cutting a hole in my painted cement flooring in the bathroom and digging a hole outside. I called Zippity for a second opinion and scheduled an appointment for an estimate for several days later between 8AM-10AM. At 9AM on the day of the appointment Zippity called me and told me that the person scheduled to come out could not make it as they were tied up on an emergency call. They offered to reschedule the appointment for the next day (2PM-4PM). Jeremy arrived at about 4:30PM. He was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I explained the problem I was having, and he ran a camera down the sewer line from the outside clean out and cleared the blockage with the camera by itself (hooray)! Upon viewing the sewer line with the camera, he recommended a descaling to remove rust, sludge and hard water scaling inside the cast iron pipe. He showed me photos and video of the sewer line and later sent them to me via email. Jeremy created a repair estimate with three different options. Descaling, hydrojet and installation of a double two-way clean out (outside) for the sewer line to replace the single 1960's era cast iron clean out for a cost of $3,480 (I chose this option). It was recommended that the kitchen drain/vent line be replaced and rerouted to alleviate kitchen grease going down the drain where it was thought it currently does for $3,245 (I chose not to do this). The third option was to add two shut off valves and hose bibs where I needed them for $475 (I had them do this option too). Jeremy was able to quickly get me scheduled for this service the next day (Wednesday) between 8AM-10AM, as I was going out of town for a while at the end of the week. The next day Mikey Wood and Zach arrived at 9:45AM. They completed the service and installation of the above options I chose by 4:30PM, after running into a couple issues with removal of the outside cast iron clean out in 103° temps. They ran a camera down the line before and after the descaling, and I was able to watch the viewing screen as they did it. Mikey and Zach did a great job. After they were done, you wouldn't know that they even dug a large hole outside. They did a great job. I highly recommend Zippity Split Plumbing. I called many companies before finding Zippity Split, and when I tell you they were punctual-I mean they came within 2 hours of me calling regarding a huge leak outside my house. Other companies wanted me to wait until the following week (this was a Thursday, and the water had to be shut off for the entire house!). I'm upset with myself because I forgot the guy's name, but he was polite, professional, and informative. I've never experienced anything like this, and initially, I thought it was a city of phoenix issue. But nope, it was all on me, and I'm grateful the cost was bearable. A few factors for the specific decisions I made was that I didn't want to destroy my paved walkway, and I didn't want pipe removed going all the way to the city line. The plumber explained why he used the material and going with the c curved pipe was best for this particular situation (for any plumber critics). Can't say enough good things about my experience using Zippity Split for clearing a tree root and repairing my homes front yard sewer line. I was within a day of using another company who was to dig a 6 foot trench into the front yard...likely creating landscaping irrigation issues in the process. Luckily saw a FB post by Mark, the owner at Zippity Split, who took the time to thoroughly explain the issue I likely had and how his company would be able to resolve without the trenching. The first two attempted to snake the drain and failed. One declared the drain broken and quoted an enormous amount to dig into my bathroom floor, with no guarantee of what work he would perform afterward. Need to repair your sewer lines but don't want your entire yard dug up? Highly recommend Zippity Split for any and all sewer issues!! Had the sewer lines hydro-jetted after a backup due to root intrusions. Still had root evidence 2 months afterwards. After contacting 6 different plumbing/sewer companies, Zippity Split was the ONLY company that provided "No Dig" sewer line repair. We reside in an HOA community and it was important that the front common area where the sewer lines are located were disturbed as little as possible with the landscaping left as found. Mark, the owner, was super responsive and provided different solutions. We chose to have fiberglass lines installed from the access point to 3' past the city line to prevent any further intrusions. Zippity Split provides a 25-year warranty for this service. Ben and Jesus did an amazing job!!! They were professional, informative, polite, efficient, communicative, and hardworking,. They dug 4' deep (through construction trash, cement, and wiring left by builders 37-years ago) to locate the main issue, replaced the pipe, installed the liner, and returned the landscaping back to its original state. The only thing Zippity Split about this company, is how quick they are to lie to you, run out on appointments and how quick they are to REALLY try to overcharge - way overcharge! If those are things you want to fix your plumbing... go for it. If those things tend to bother you, run zippity split to someone else... anyone else! I chose this company after reading good reviews and told them I would write one if they deserved it... they don't. I was going to use one of the "big guys" but wasn't happy with the reviews. I don't know about the other reviews, maybe they were friends, or different people were there, but 1 star is about 20 stars too good! I had called, and believe spoke to the owner, Orlando. Told him that I had a problem with a toilet, a faucet and a sink backing up. He was great, set up a quick appointment, but that was all that was good. At the appointed time, Devante showed up. It was supposed to be someone else, but that wasn't a problem. He came in, looked, literally spent 5 minutes and said he would go work up a price and be back in a few minutes. That was his first lie of many. A few minutes went by, he didn't come back. I literally waited an hour (hope you don't mind wasting time), then called the company and asked Orlando what happened. I was told that there was a misunderstanding (lie #2). He said he would call Devante, so the guy wasn't even here anymore. Anyway, he gets on the phone, and yes I have a recording no matter what they try to claim here. He tells me that I need to replace the whole faucet, replace the toilet, and... wait for it, he will snake out the kitchen sink for free. What a deal! Then I asked how much and was floored! His deal was only going to cost $1,517.00! Of course it wouldn't be that day - as his boss told me (lie #3). I said at that price, I would have to call someone else for another estimate. Of course, if he had still been here, and was ready to do the work, I might have gone ahead. Now I wouldn't even let them clean out my cat's litter box! I asked why he didn't come back and tell me, and why he just left - keeping me waiting an hour. He said: " he left me several voice messages"... of course he didn't, not even 1. So now this is lie #4, and on top of it, he and the owner were just rude for leaving like that. I said I would need a written estimate, and gave him my email. He said he would send it right over... and you guessed it, he never did - and yes I checked spam too. ( lie # 5). The next day, a real plumber came over, spent actual time looking at the problems. Yes, I will have to replace the toilet. No, I don't have to replace a whole faucet (lie #6) . It was just an aerater filter as I suspected. He went to his truck, and got one and put it on. No charge, about $5 at Home Depot. Took less than 2 minutes. He looked at my kitchen sink and told me a few things I could do to fix it at pretty much no cost and would save money since he didn't need to do it. Oh and the price for everything - a whole lot better than Zippity Split. Not over $1500 as they wanted to rip me off for, not $1,000, not even $500. $475 for everything! Don't worry, I will write his review soon, and know who to call for other plumbing needs. Bottom line; Zippity Split Plumbing lied about almost everything, were going to do work that was not needed and charge 3x's the price of an honest plumber, left without ever saying they were leaving-wasting an hour of my time, couldn't do the work the same day as promised, and couldn't even send over a written estimate. So, if that sounds good to you, well you know who to go to for lies and being ripped off, and wasted time. If on the other hand, you want honest work at a fair price, go see someone else...and I will give the name of that plumber in another review, but pretty much anyone has to be better than no zip plumbing. I might even file a complaint with the state license board. I didn't pay anything, but don't want to see others ripped off either. You decide...and hopefully stay far away from this company - unless you like lies, unneeded work and being charged way too much. read more

I will be using Zippity Split Plumbing for all my future plumbing needs. I had a very stressful time-sensitive issue with some sewer pipes on a house I was buying this week. Long story short, the seller wouldn't unlock his gates in a reasonable amount of time and we needed to give him an answer by midnight. Finally got the gates unlocked and Brandon H completed the sewer scope in a timely fashion. He was able to give me an estimate, information on all of the financing options, as well as his honest opinion on the life expectancy of the pipes. 2020 has been a mess. Found out I had foundation issues which is a nightmare and very expensive. Then I find out I have a sewer leak which needs to be fixed before I can fix the foundation. I recently purchased my home and it was turnkey, or so I thought, so I DID NOT want to tear up the inside at all. Like one of the previous reviewers mentioned, I called 4 plumbers and all of them required major invasiveness to my home, tearing up walls, floors, removing sinks cabinets etc......One even suggested involving insurance in a not so legal way. Zippity to the rescue. Mark was very patient. He was number 4 so by the time I met with him, I had just about had it with plumbers and was ready to bite someones head off. He explained the procedure and it was cost effective for me. I even asked him to speak with the foundation guy to make sure his procedure would be sufficient for the foundation work! Interior property damage or even a remodel is very stressful but when his guys came, they were all so nice and kind and understanding of my nerves. They delivered as promised, minimizing the mess and follow up repairs to my bathroom. They literally jackhammered through my foundation and only broke through 2 tiles! They even planned it so my toilet could be put back in place and continue to be used. They were here ALL day and were so respectful of my home. Most of the companies recommended a full replacement of my pipes which would have required my house to be tore up and my responsibility to put everything back together. They did amazing work that much exceeds my expectation! My bathroom was clogged and I arranged about 5-6 plumbing companies come to inspect the drain lines and three of them showed me with camera inspection how badly the root damage was. Of the three, Zippity Split is the only one that not only suggested me doing trenchless pipe lining as permanent repairing, but also convinced me that pipe lining was the most cost-effective and least troublesome repairing method. The other two urged me replace the cracked pipe with new one through opening and removing concrete slab, which means a higher price and incredible mess to my neighbor as well, because the cracked pipe is located underneath the living room of my neighbor downstairs. By shooting a 14 ft blue liner into the underground pipe, Mark and his team thoroughly solve my headache and concern of root intrusion in the future. Mark's help is actually much more than that. He found out and indicated to me that my drain line is actually connected with my neighbor's laundry line downstairs. This is a crucial evidence that would affect whether or not insurance and HOA will cover it, for which, nobody told me before.
