After removal of old cement and cast iron pipe leading to septic tank.

I called Zippity Split Plumbing to get a second opinion on a main sewer line issue I was experiencing after seeing positive comments about them on social media and online reviews. There was a clog in the main sewer line causing a backup. The first company I called (Precision) came out and ran a snake down the line, but they were unable to clear the line even though the snake made it all the way to the septic tank. They then ran a camera down the line from inside the house, but nothing could really be seen as the line was full of water. They ran the line from the outside clean out toward the inside of the house and got to a point where the line appeared blocked. The plumber said that it looked like there may be a partial collapse. He then suggested that the line needed to be repaired with a liner (CIPP) at an estimated cost of $11,000! to include cutting a hole in my painted cement flooring in the bathroom and digging a hole outside. I called Zippity for a second opinion and scheduled an appointment for an estimate for several days later between 8AM-10AM. At 9AM on the day of the appointment Zippity called me and told me that the person scheduled to come out could not make it as they were tied up on an emergency call. They offered to reschedule the appointment for the next day (2PM-4PM). Jeremy arrived at about 4:30PM. He was friendly and seemed knowledgeable. I explained the problem I was having, and he ran a camera down the sewer line from the outside clean out and cleared the blockage with the camera by itself (hooray)! Upon viewing the sewer line with the camera, he recommended a descaling to remove rust, sludge and hard water scaling inside the cast iron pipe. He showed me photos and video of the sewer line and later sent them to me via email. Jeremy created a repair estimate with three different options. Descaling, hydrojet and installation of a double two-way clean out (outside) for the sewer line to replace the single 1960's era cast iron clean out for a cost of $3,480 (I chose this option). It was recommended that the kitchen drain/vent line be replaced and rerouted to alleviate kitchen grease going down the drain where it was thought it currently does for $3,245 (I chose not to do this). The third option was to add two shut off valves and hose bibs where I needed them for $475 (I had them do this option too). Jeremy was able to quickly get me scheduled for this service the next day (Wednesday) between 8AM-10AM, as I was going out of town for a while at the end of the week. The next day Mikey Wood and Zach arrived at 9:45AM. They completed the service and installation of the above options I chose by 4:30PM, after running into a couple issues with removal of the outside cast iron clean out in 103° temps. They ran a camera down the line before and after the descaling, and I was able to watch the viewing screen as they did it. Mikey and Zach did a great job. After they were done, you wouldn't know that they even dug a large hole outside. They did a great job. I highly recommend Zippity Split Plumbing. I will call them again for any future plumbing issues.

A work crew was at the house and accidentally broke a spigot that was attached to the main water line into house. He shut off the valve on the pipe when water was spraying everywhere but unknowingly, shut the water off to the entire house. When my son realized what had happened, it was already 5 pm. We tried calling multiple plumbers (over 13 companies) to come out and fix the situation and no one was available until the following week. When I explained the situation over the phone to the owner, he came out around 8 pm and fixed the spigot at a very reasonable price. He was definitely a ray of sunshine in the middle of an extremely stressful week. I know he went above and beyond to help us out. We can't thank him enough.

Very reasonable price too. Would highly recommend this very personalized business over anything corporate and he'll be doing any of my future emergency repairs

Once again, it was Tony to the rescue for me. Early this…read moremorning I was sweeping off my patio and I heard a hissing behind me. I saw that there was water coming out of the side of a copper pipe that extends up from the ground for a hose connection. I had to shut off the water to my house and the guesthouse. I immediately called Tony and he said he'd fit me in today. By 2p today the hole was fixed, all cleaned up, water back on, a reasonably fee paid for same day service and Tony was off to his next job. Thanks again, Tony.

I own a short-term rental (Airbnb) in Tempe that recently had an issue with the hot water…read moreheater--it wasn't producing any hot water. I called MAGA Plumbing, partly because I'm a big fan of the name, and Tony seemed like a knowledgeable and honest person to work with. He was also available to come out the next day, which was crucial since the property was occupied by guests. Tony arrived as expected and called me with the diagnosis and options (I live out of state). He provided two options: 1. Replace the two faulty heating elements for $500, which would restore hot water immediately. 2. Replace the tankless electric water heater entirely due to its age and significant corrosion (he sent photos to show the corrosion) for $1,300. However, this would take about a week to get the replacement water heater in stock and installed. I would have preferred the second option, but given the immediate need for hot water for my Airbnb guests, I opted for the $500 heating element repair. Tony assured me that this would solve the issue and provide hot water that day. Here's where the one-star review comes in... Tony called me later that day to let me know the repair had failed and didn't solve the problem. He said I would still need to replace the hot water heater. He offered to discount the work he had done that day by 50%, effectively increasing the total cost of the hot water heater replacement to ~$1,550. Taken aback, I asked if I really had to pay for the work done that day, even though it didn't fix the problem. Tony explained that despite the unsuccessful outcome, he had spent many hours working on it and needed to be paid for his time. Ultimately, I contacted my property manager's plumbing recommendation. That plumber was able to replace the tankless hot water heater the very next day for $900. Additionally, they installed a shutoff valve, isolating the water heater from the main water line for easier maintenance in the future. To be clear, this one-star review is not because Tony couldn't fix the problem--it's because he charged me even though the repair didn't work. While I didn't want to cause conflict and only questioned him once, I believe it's unfair to pay for a solution that didn't resolve the issue. I shared this story at the Thanksgiving table, and everyone was shocked that a company would charge for a failed repair. The general sentiment among my family was that if a company or vendor offers a solution and it doesn't work, they should absorb the cost. I had agreed to pay $500 to fix the problem--not $500 for someone to try to fix it. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision when choosing plumbing services.
