STAY AWAY. Horrifying experience. They lied quoting medication prices on the phone so that I would drive 45 minutes to their clinic, and then they told me it was 6 times as expensive. Absolutely disgusting morals. If you try to buy meds not from their site they pose as many challenges as possible for receiving your prescriptions. Hidden fees are also everywhere in medications and exams. The staff couldn't be bothered about doing the best for the animal, they're only worried about their bottom line. Definitely found my vet for the rest of my dog's life. I've been to both locations and have had great experiences both times. I also brought a foster for a rescue once and they gave me a discount, so they really do care about the animals. For some things they'll let you drop your dog off in the morning if you have to go to work which is awesome. They're actually pretty cheap for the quality of the work they do, I paid about $100 for shots and a bunch of tests. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I'm moving back to Houston in a couple months but I plan on taking my dog back here at least once a year just for Zippivet, they're that good. read more

They immediately jump to the higher price procedure, hand you pills that you may not need on the spot. If my dog only needs 6 pills to "calm" her, why am I being sold 20? Your first point of contact is a telephone operator, not any sort of veterinary staff, so communication between you, an operator and clinic staff is inefficient and leads to follow up appointments made that should be made at other times in a pet's recovery cycle, if there was better communication between a knowledgeable veterinary staff and pet owner, instead of playing the telephone game with an operator in the middle needless appointments and misinformation could be avoided. They have many fancy offices with reproduction designer furniture, big screen tvs, in high rent locations... that overhead has to come from somewhere. I would shop around for a second opinion on any of their procedures. They were going to charge me $50 for gland expressions, emancipet charges less than $20. Emancipet is non profit. So I called around to other regular vets (for profit) and found the same procedures they were pushing on me at almost half price, and emailed them that estimate as proof. I was surprised by the large cost difference. They are open Saturday & Sunday which is a plus. Business is business, but using my pet as a cash cow leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I cannot express enough gratitude for the entire staff at ZippiVet. My cat was in desperate need of treatment due to a cat fight and no one in the city would take her same day without insanely high prices. I called ZippiVet and they got an appointment within a few hours, so that my injured cat didn't have to wait in a carrier for hours at a walk in clinic. Everyone there treated her as if she were their own cat and she was calm the entire time because of it. The prices were also half of what I was quoted elsewhere. The doctor was very honest about what was necessary and what would be "ideal" and didn't try to oversell me anything. Thank you so much ZippiVet for helping my cat so quickly and lovingly. read more

I was very impressed with Dr. D'sa and her Veterinary Technician, Chrissy. I found them to be kind, professional, knowledgable and gentle in handling my dog, Coco. Coco had been side-swiped by a pickup, and although she only had a small scratch on her leg, she was very traumatized by the experience and was doing everything she could to stay immobile. We were also very concerned because she had not gone to the bathroom since the incident, 20 hours prior to our visit. By the time we left the vet, she had peed and pooped and was moving around like her old self. After a thorough examination, Dr. D'sa prescribed an anti-inflammatory and mild pain reliever to speed her recovery. She gave us the option of doing x-rays but did not push us to do them. Since the cost was $275, we decided to wait and see how she was doing in a couple of days. They gave us the $25 new patient discount, bringing the total cost for examination and medications to around $100. We will be returning in January for Coco's annual exam. Okay, more people need to know about Zippivet. This is how all vets should be! Quick service, very technology friendly, and great customer service. The doctors know their stuff and took care of my chiggi (who is super defensive and scared) with great care, patience and understanding. And it was just so convienent!! I've come to Zippivet a few times and the first experience was great. The tech that helped out was very informative on the vaccines my pup needed. Second time I came in for boosters there was a lady with short red hair standing at the computer and she greeted me but supposedly my appointment wasn't on the schedule and which I had confirmation on my phone. Sounded like an online error which wasn't a big deal but what really got me was she rudely told me they were booked and to have a seat as she rolled her eyes and walked to the back and proceeded to tell another tech "I fucking hate this place I want to die and I can't even deal" the other person literally said "omg is someone up front" and looked around the corner and apologized if I had heard anything and put me in a room right away and said they could squeeze me in and again apologized for the other girls behavior. I asked if I could speak to the manager and she then told me that was the manager! I couldn't help but laugh and thought how ridiculous. That nurse again was great! Helped me out with my pups booster even noticed his dirty ears before I even said anything. So I sat back and took into consideration okay maybe the "manager" was having a bad day. Came back for a THIRD visit in hopes there would be a little better visit... I was wrong. I waited in the exam room for about 15 min AFTER arriving 10 min early for my 2pm appointment. And through the window saw the same shirt red hair lady throwing stuff across the clinic at another tech laughing saying "shut your pie hole". I've never been so disgusted with a business ever! By the time the tech came in the room the first question I asked was what the hell is the managers name and she replied with Leslie. If you're looking for a fairly nice clinic with an educational staff here's the place! But don't expect professional and experienced management. That's for sure. I took my dog in for a routine check-up. When they listened to her heart, they told me they heard a grade 3-4 heart murmur and asked me if I was aware she had it. Her heart has always been healthy, so I was surprised. They recommended that I do an "gold star" ultrasound treatment ($500) or at least a "silver star" blood work treatment ($250) to determine its cause/status because it could be congestive heart failure and she might need medicine. Of course, I was pretty upset. I told them that I would talk to my partner about it and let them know. In the meantime, I rushed to purchase low sodium food while I decided what to do. A few weeks later, I had to do a return visit to get her rabies shot. During my initial visit, I wasn't sure if she needed a rabies shot. The vet was supposed to check for me and then get back to me. They never did, so I followed up on my own and found out she needed it. They charged me for another office visit. They also, listened to her heart again and said nothing. I asked them how it sounded and they said fine. I told them a few weeks ago, I was told she had a heart murmur. The vet listened again said she didn't hear it. She followed up by saying that other vet has a better stethoscope and that's probably why she couldn't hear it. Really? I obviously won't be returning. I felt that I had to post this to let others know to be cautious if they choose to use this vet. I would recommend getting a second opinion for any worrisome findings. read more

I just took my little dog here today for UTI symptoms. My little dog Charlie is a ball of anxiety, and he gets very stressed out easily. Chase (vet tech) and Dr. Elizabeth D'sa were so understanding of Charlie's needs, and they went extra slow with him. They took the extra time to make him feel comfortable, and they got everything needed from Charlie so he may feel better soon. I highly recommend Zippivet. Dr. Elizabeth D'sa and Chase are very knowledgeable in veterinary care, and have wonderful bedside manner. They are very affordable too. Zippivet is awesome! read more

used them because they supported Austin Pets Alive. Went in the front door and thought where are the exam rooms?...there are none. no privacy from the people on their laptops ignoring you. So I did have my pup's first exam there... I saw a very unclean floor with hair under the exam table. I wanted to pay in cash, they said they don't have change and usually don't take cash. hhmmmm, in the meantime my husband took our pup outside to potty, when returning back inside the door swung closed very fast. It hit our pup's tail and she yelped. One of the people looked up from her laptop and said, it wasn't the door's fault, gave my husband upset looks, put down her laptop and came over to exam my pup's tail. Along with Sarah, the vet that examined my pup, said we should have it x-rayed for 300 dollars. so we went from a free initial exam to very expensive visit.We decided to not have the x-ray, the bump on my pup's tail was gone in 15 minutes. back to the money issue. they said I could pick up my change in a couple of days.....I did from the "manager" I told her I had a problem with trying to upsell me and she told me not to abuse her staff.. so keep on looking at your laptop, i will not darken your door again. To be honest, our experience was not a very pleasant one. I want to start by saying that the staff was very nice and welcoming and showed care and compassion toward our black lab Chance. What I had a problem with was the misdiagnosis of what Chance had and having us convinced of the absolute worst case scenario. The staff had no problem charging us for anything that might be wrong, which could have costs us thousands of dollars. Our pet is dear to us and I would not spare any expense to make him feel better, but he basically had an upset stomach and we were told he may have Parvo, after we shared that he did have all his shots and did not show all the signs. We were also told that he might have a pancreatic inflammation, which turned out to be the wrong diagnosis after all. What was really upsetting is that we were convinced to have an Xray done and were told that Zippivet Xrays are more expensive because they are reviewed by a board certified radiologist and results guaranteed in less than an hour. When we waited over an hour and half and every attempt to get the results or get an answer, from the radiologist, failed, the vet told us she would check with management to see what can be done. Fifteen minutes later, she came back to tell us that her boss said that we can get the result "stat" (over 1.75 hours later) for an additional fee. This sounded so unprofessional and it felt like highway robbery to me. When I was visibly upset and asked, where would the stat results come from, the answer was as shocking as the request: FROM THE SAME RADIOLOGIST THAT WOULD NOT ANSWER IN THE FIRST PLACE". Is this acceptable to you? Is this how customers are treated? Not only that, they were going to give Chance a $150 shot that was replaced with a $4 medicine from Walmart, the same was for the antibiotic. We were also advised to have in checked in OVERNIGHT at an ER and have IV administered. After questioning this, we were told that we can actually give him Pedialite instead. We were charged over $600 at the clinic and it could have been a lot more had we not questioned the prices and procedures. I am sorry to say that our experience was not a pleasant one. We came in worried about our Chance and I think that we were taken advantage off. read more

After seeing 'Walk-ins Welcome' I wanted to give this place a try for my dogs. One of my dogs seemed to have something lodged which was making her cough a bit (she had recently been tested for bordetella and was negative, so I knew that wasn't it). She ate food, drank water, was playing- acting normal, other than a light cough when she got excited. After seeing good reviews, I figured I would give it a shot since they accepted walk-ins which was clearly stated in numerous places. Upon walking into the south location, the tech up front asked why I was there and I told her... she immediately said they couldn't see my dog and that I should have left her outside because she was infectious! Clearly my other dog was perfectly fine (I had him with me too) and I had paperwork in hand as proof they were both up to date on everything. I was confused and shocked that I was rejected by the lady up front. She didn't even give me a chance to TRY to talk about my dog and see if they could at least check her out. She suggested I go up to the north location, which was a 30 minute drive and would be closing soon after that. Basically it wasn't even an option unless I sped up there. There was 1 person waiting with their dog and they didn't seem to be busy at all. I would not recommend this place. Luckily my dog is ok, but NO THANKS to this place. If you want to be treated nicely and have someone actually care for your pet, do not take them to ZippiVet. read more
