While it was busy they seemed a bit understaffed. We didn't get a single refill and had to ask for napkins and silverware while our food was at our table. The food was fine. It was typical bar food and relatively bland. But, what I did like about this place is that they offered lots of options which I really appreciate. Pretty disappointed with my order from Zipps. I ordered wings, fries, and onion rings, and honestly, none of it was great. The fries were okay and onion rings were undercooked. The worst part was the wings. While I was eating them, I noticed that some still had feathers attached. I had to do a double take because I've never had that happen at a restaurant before. I took pictures because I couldn't believe they were served like that. I get that mistakes happen, but feathers on chicken wings and undercooked sides shouldn't be making it out of the kitchen. They were soggy, greasy, and tasted like they weren't even finished cooking. The service didn't make it any better. It was painfully slow, and it took about 45 minutes just to get all of our food. Even worse, everything didn't come out at the same time, so people were sitting there watching others eat. And to top it off, they charge 60 cents for each side of ranch, which feels ridiculous considering the quality of the food. Overall, this was a really poor experience. The ranch is watered down literally no joke. This location is cheap AF for serving customers watered down condiments when they're to pay a premium for each side of condiment. This is the only zips location I have been to that does this. My wife and I frequent different places (mostly downtown Gilbert) looking for football games (with sound) but Zipps was recommended by a co-worker and man are we glad that we went! First, atmosphere was perfect; definitely a sports bar vibe with a clean, spirited feeling. Not sure how many TVs but felt like 30+! Second, the service?? Wow!!! Riley was especially nice and Michael was so helpful in picking out our food suggestions. We never waited and the food came out in a timely manner. I had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at Zipps. I ordered a cheeseburger, and the server suggested "The Big Zipp," saying it came with cheese and sauce. Sounded good, so I said sure. Twenty minutes later, the burger arrives--no cheese, no sauce. Just a dry, overcooked hockey puck. We had small kids with us, so waiting for a new one wasn't an option. I politely asked the server if they could just remove it from the bill. Instead, she called her manager. Ten minutes later, he finally shows up--rude, defensive, and completely dismissive. He tells me it's my fault for ordering the wrong item and that there's "nothing he can do." I was stunned. I calmly explained that I'd asked for a cheeseburger and took the Big Zipp on the server's recommendation--but he refused to take any responsibility. No apology, no compromise, just attitude. Why do I torture myself and keep coming back to this establishment? I used to work for them so I should know that the food is going to be mediocre at best and the service will be subpar. This had to be the worst experience I've ever had at Zipps and I highly encourage you to go to other sports bars or local establishments. They'll treat you like a piece of dog poop and don't care about your food. My mother-in-law ordered a simple cheeseburger and it came out with no cheese. They refused to take it back and they said they would talk to a manager. Well, five minutes goes by and nobody comes back so I went up to the expo line and I am ignored by everyone. I had a server give me a nasty look though so there's that. Finally, a really nice girl asked me what I needed and said that they could melt cheese and bring it to our table. I was very kind and said that's fine and went back to my booth. Well, 10 minutes goes by now and still nothing. Finally, the cheese comes, but my mother-in-law's burger and fries are ice cold at this point and what do we get? I'm so sorry about that. That's all. She did say that they could take the burger back and make her a new one, but this was about 20 minutes after the fact, and it was already at 7:30 PM with my kids. I will say there were two people there that genuinely seem to care about it but still they didn't comp it for her. The manager never approached us at all. My mother didn't even eat the meal. I understand it's not the staff's fault. The owners are so cheap and probably don't allow them to comp or remake anything. Which is probably why we received melted cheese on the wax paper to put on ourselves. The root of the problem is the same problem and has been for 20+ years and that's the owners. Cheap (it's how the rich get richer), concerned only about the bottom line, and complete and blatant disregard for customer service. I'm convinced the only reason they're in business is because there aren't many other sports establishments to choose from. We love a good Zipps night! It's always consistent food for us since we almost always get the chicken skewers! I also highly recommend the focaccias as well! We will say the last time we came in we were seated quickly on a Friday night for two people but then sat at our table for about 10 minutes before anyone came to take our drink order. After the delay in our drinks, everything came out fast even though it was super busy on a Friday night. We shared chicken skewers and a side of fries, carrots, and celery. We asked if we could switch them for fries instead since we didn't like them, but our server said it would still be on our bill -- even though we only tried one. My mother-in-law was on her third beer when the shift manager rudely told her, "this is your last one," without any explanation. Soooo I love Zipps food. The wings centra crispy buffalo. The chicken skewers. A side salad. The ranch. The pizza. Mozzarella sticks. Those are the favs. The service isn't bad, but the last two times my order was wrong and it felt so an awkward one said she had to bring her manager over to fix the mistake. Then came back to say he was too busy and it will be a while. The next visit the onion rings and fried basket you can tell was siting and not fresh i just asked for them to change out the onion rings for fries (half basket side) and they still had to come get a manager. Which is fine, but tell him what I want and he can reiterate verse having to explain everything it's weird that when you mess up we have to wait for a manager then tell him again all to wait to get it corrected.
