    Zipps Wings
    Laura P.

Came here with my friend the other. It was good, had some wings very nice and tasty. The server was good I don't remember his name but was nice and very patient with us. Also explained some of the food. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was good but the music and tv were a little loud for me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

BLT with half onion rings and half fries.

Went to watch the game here...[[HIGHLIGHT]]They had a lot of screens, which is great! But they weren't in sync so I could really only watch one screen to see things "on time."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] While it was busy they seemed a bit understaffed. We didn't get a single refill and had to ask for napkins and silverware while our food was at our table. The food was fine. It was typical bar food and relatively bland. But, what I did like about this place is that they offered lots of options which I really appreciate. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a good place to go if you have loud kids and you don't mind a lot of noise. It's loud and fun but the food was middle of the road for us[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]].

Nasty watered down ranch no joke.
    Bob S.

The ranch is watered down literally no joke. This location is cheap AF for serving customers watered down condiments when they're to pay a premium for each side of condiment. This is the only zips location I have been to that does this. I asked the server if the ranch is going to be watery like this and she said yes because it's all premade in the morning and every ranch side will be watery like that lmao that is absolutely unacceptable to do to your customers. This location is a huge fail in my book. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only reason it's busy is because you have a bunch of people living right next to it and have live sports on otherwise it would be shut down as quick as it was when ICE shut them down.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Absolutely amazing service and the atmosphere was fantastic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered fish and onions rings and my goodness this was the best I've had yet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The location is great and I do like the outside seating area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I never had to ask for refills once so great job to the waitress and management team. I will most definitely be back soon when I come to Arizona to visit. Thank You Zipps

Delicious cheese pizza! Easy to place takeout order and friendly staff. Pizza stays hot! Often busy so make sure you order early.

Zipps is a staple in Arizona. If you want the best bar food ever, go to Zipps. The service is good but very slow. We waited over 30 minutes just for our check. Be sure to get a zipparita , they're amazing!!!!

I had one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had at Zipps. I ordered a cheeseburger, and the server suggested "The Big Zipp," saying it came with cheese and sauce. Sounded good, so I said sure. Twenty minutes later, the burger arrives--no cheese, no sauce. Just a dry, overcooked hockey puck. We had small kids with us, so waiting for a new one wasn't an option. I politely asked the server if they could just remove it from the bill. Instead, she called her manager. Ten minutes later, he finally shows up--rude, defensive, and completely dismissive. He tells me it's my fault for ordering the wrong item and that there's "nothing he can do." I was stunned. I calmly explained that I'd asked for a cheeseburger and took the Big Zipp on the server's recommendation--but he refused to take any responsibility. No apology, no compromise, just attitude. And this is after we said nothing about the fries, which were swimming in grease and totally inedible. The food was terrible, but the service was even worse. The manager, David, should be ashamed of how he represents this business. As a business owner myself, I'd be horrified if someone on my team treated a guest this way. I won't be back--and I'll be telling anyone who will listen to steer clear. There are plenty of better places around. If this is how Zipps treats customers, they won't be around much longer.

I was hungry when I walked and happy when I left. Had the half sandwich (BLT) and a cup of soup lunch special. Was basically a whole BLT with half the bread. More than a welcome surprise. The chili had a little more kick than expected without having to add hot sauce as I usually would anywhere else. Added a basket of onion rings to share. They were highly overcooked to the point of onion's basically being gone but breading left in tact. It deserves a 4. Despite the onion rings I did not return because I was hungry It's the only downfall of the meal but the service was good seated at the bar on a Friday afternoon.

We asked if they could turn on the sound for the World Cup and they were more than willing to accommodate. I thought the Balboa burger was very good and I would have enjoyed the gas lamp burger better if the red pepper didn't keep slipping out. They don't charge you if you change fries for tots or even your burger patty for a chicken or turkey patty, which is really nice. Lowlights: I'm a big french fry eater and I didn't really like the fries here I found them too soft. The majority of their tables inside are barstools, which is a bit uncomfortable for me personally.

Being early birds, we had the place practically to ourselves, which made for a relaxed, no-rush lunch. I ordered the Jucy Lucy, a cheddar jack stuffed patty on a pretzel bun with sweet potato fries. When I cut into it with the steak knife they give you, molten cheese came pouring out of the center of the patty. That's exactly what you want from a Jucy Lucy and this one delivered. The pretzel bun had that perfect glossy chew, shredded lettuce and what tasted like a Thousand Island-style sauce rounded it out, and the whole thing was gloriously messy. Sweet potato fries were crispy and well-seasoned, not soggy, which is always the gamble with sweet potato fries. My husband went with a double patty burger on a brioche bun with tater tots. Melted cheese was dripping down the sides and those tots came out golden and crunchy. He had no complaints. Paired everything with a pink lemonade cocktail (refreshing, ice-cold, lemon wedge garnish) and waters. Perfect for an Arizona afternoon. Service was quick -- probably helped that we were the early birds -- and the atmosphere is laid-back sports bar vibes with plenty of seating options including comfortable booths, tables, and bar seating. Only reason it's not five stars: it's a little on the pricey side for burgers. But when cheese is literally exploding out of your patty and it's cooked to your expectations, you're getting what you paid for. Would I come back? Absolutely

Later she brought us the wrong pizza, which she should've known better bc we'd just sat down, & NONE of the other food was ready. We didn't know, so we happily shared the pizza amongst the children only to realize the mix up after they told us it came with sausage (that you could barely see on the pizza). Oh well. They didn't charge us for the extra topping. Reading other reviews, & yeah, the $17 "[sun devil] burger didn't even come with fries!" Ordered some for extra??? They have happy hour from 2-6 everyday with $1 off all drinks during that time. We didn't have any. Hubby didn't like the Nashville spicy wings. He was just expecting them to be hotter, & they weren't spicy at all. When we left, I was surprised to see a kitchen full of employees, especially with how slow the service was. Unfortunately, that's about where the positives end. If you're coming for the food or the service, I'd suggest looking elsewhere. We came in as a party of five a little after 9:00 PM and were told the kitchen closed at 10:00 PM. No problemo, we were ready to order right away. Instead, our server didn't return to take our order until around 9:20PM, despite nearby tables continuing to receive service. That was the first sign things weren't going well. I ordered the carne asada nachos specifically because the menu advertised them with queso instead of shredded cheese. I even mentioned to my group that was the reason I was ordering them. I also added a side of sweet potato waffle fries. About 25 minutes after we had already placed our order, the server came back and asked if I'd like a different meat. Like of course I don't want a different meat that's why I ordered carne asada. The server didn't say that they were out of carne asada, but I read between the lines and opted for ground beef cause really the queso is what makes the nachos. Also, I couldn't help wondering why it took 25 minutes to find that out. Then the food arrived. My nachos immediately looked different than expected. Instead of queso, they were covered with shredded cheese. Nothing was mentioned about being out of queso. I notice there was none. When I asked about it, the server casually said, "Oh yeah, we're out of queso too." Wait...what? So the restaurant was out of both the carne asada and the queso. The two main ingredients that made me order the dish in the first place. No one cared to mentioned either of those things when taking my order OR when coming back and asking if I wanted a different meat didn't also mention they were out of queso. Had I known, I would have ordered something completely different from the start. To the server's credit, she did let me order something else. Sucks for the kitchen because they were already closed. I ended up getting the sliders, but they were just as underwhelming as everything else. The food overall tasted like frozen products that had simply been reheated. Nothing tasted fresh, especially considering the prices. The biggest issue wasn't just the mediocre food, it was the lack of communication and straight lie when placing my food in front of me. If items are unavailable, tell customers before they order or at least when placing their food down, not after they've waited half an hour and not saying anything at all. Between the disappointing service, poor communication, and unforgettable food for all the wrong reasons, this place completely lost my trust. I'd honestly rather spend half the money at IHOP, where the food is more consistent and I'd know what to expect.

Brunch Burger ($19 - Angus beef patty, sunny side egg, avocado, applewood smoked bacon, cheddar, sriracha aioli, hash brown patty, brioche bun, choice of fresh fruit or breakfast potatoes): I shared this burger and requested the kitchen to cut it for me which they did. Very thankful that they were okay with the request. The burger itself was decent. It was a little weird to eat as the tiny hash brown patty made the structural integrity funny but it's not a deal breaker. I will say that it needed more sauce or something. The burger was dry after a few bites. I also had my lunch with the most savory and spicy Bloody Mary. It was amazing and probably one of my favorite Bloody Marys in a long while. You're in DT Gilbert where the energy is going to be fun. You really can't go wrong having bunch here.

Amazing visit from start to finish. My husband and I taste…read moretested multiple items. From the moment we sat down, the vibe was right, relaxed ambience, comfortable setting, and the kind of place where you can actually unwind and enjoy your meal without being rushed. The environment just feels good. Our waitress was awesome, attentive, friendly, and kept everything flowing without hovering. That kind of service makes all the difference and she nailed it. Now the food. Let me start with the real star of the show, the Cheesy Mashed Potato Balls. Golden, perfectly crispy panko crust on the outside, and when you bite in? Creamy mashed potato loaded with gooey melted cheese that literally stretches. Paired with that smooth cheese dipping sauce, these are dangerously addictive. I'd order a double next time without hesitation. The wings were incredible, and yes, I taste tested both the Garlic Parmesan AND the BBQ. The Garlic Parm had that rich, savory coating with a beautiful caramelized char. The BBQ brought a sweet, smoky glaze that had me licking my fingers. Both were meaty, juicy, and fall-off-the-bone tender. Honestly couldn't pick a favorite, you need both. I also grabbed a burger on a pretzel bun with bacon and sweet potato fries, stacked high, messy in the best way, and the pretzel bun held up like a champ. The Hub has that classic neighborhood grill vibe with quality that punches above its weight. Delicious food, generous portions, great service, and a relaxing spot to kick back. Will absolutely be back. Pro tip: Don't sleep on those mashed potato balls. Order them first. And get both wing flavors, thank me later.

They were absolutely out of this world and I highly recommend them. The service was excellent but the ambiance was that of a typical new age bar with little character.

We did not have one bad dish. Loved all if them!! I will be coming here again and again. The service very top notch as well. Friendly prompt staff.

Came here to meet a friend tonight and we both thought the other person decided on this place, but…read moresince we already sat down and it was quiet and calm inside, we decided to stay. The food was pretty good here, however, I was severely annoyed with the waitress who wasn't really trying to service her customers but wanted to argue for most of the experience here so hence the two stars. Read on to see why I gave a lower rating than I normally would. Since this place is called Tap N Tikka, they had a nice selection of draft beers and I was impressed with their menu, which was on a digital board. The waitress tried to sell me on an Indian brewed beer (for example, Taj) and I just wasnt in the mood for one. Ive been to India several times and have had some of their beers in country. I asked for the Roses by the Stairs Czech Pale Ale and she didnt know if they had it. So I then said, if you dont have Roses by the Stairs, I'll take a Schoner Tag, which is a wheat style Hefeweizen. She then brought me the Schoner Tag, which was a very good beer. Next, we told her we weren't too hungry and mainly wanted to snack on some items and this is where she was being quite annoying. I mentioned the chaat on their menu and thought maybe these would be small bites as these are considered roadside snacks in India, but then she had to tell me oh no they are big portions, so I am like ok... I then saw kati rolls on the menu and thought we could get these and she says oh they are like big burritos, so then I said, well we could cut them in half and share it, but she seemed to think oh they are too big. OK, so after discussing the appetizer menu and couldnt seem to land on much, we now move onto entrees. She then suggests we share a dish, which we were both fine with. She initially suggested Reshmi chicken and said it had a creamy sauce, so we agreed. So, when we finally order the Reshmi chicken, I also asked for a garlic naan to soak up the sauce with and then waitress says oh its not too saucy. So, at this point, I am like whatever lady, can we just order here as you're not being helpful?? Then, she says oh popular dishes here are chicken tikka masala, butter chicken and also bhuna chicken. She said bhuna chicken was her favorite and better than the other two and had a sauce to it, so we finally agreed on this. When the chicken arrived, it came with rice and also we ordered the garlic naan too. The chicken was very good and flavorful, but I doubt it was bhuna chicken as it was a lot more saucy than how bhuna chicken is normally cooked. Bhuna chicken is normally more dry, so I dont know what this waitress is talking about. Garlic naan was so-so and I have had much better elsewhere and for $4.95 a piece, not worth it. I didnt eat much as I was headed to another meal, but did have a bite of chicken for taste and had one piece of naan. We had leftovers and she brought two take away containers. I asked for another container and she wanted to argue about this too. At this point, I just wanted to get out of here. I was like, lady, can you stop arguing with me? The food here was good, but the service was severely ruined by a waitress that didnt know what she was talking about and kept arguing. I thoroughly did not enjoy this experience. And on my receipt, the order was rung up as Butter Chicken and not Bhuna Chicken. With so much competition now (and so hard to earn a dollar and with skyrocketing inflation) and with plenty of other good Indian restaurants around, needles to say, Tap N Tikka, you lost my business and I wont be coming back, thanks to your rude and not knowledgeable waitress.
