Well, we gave Cheba Hut another shot last night, and while this was definitely a better experience than the last one, we are still completely befuddled about how we're supposed to place an order and actually get the food the way we ordered it. My wife ordered the Power Plant, and we paid extra for Extra Spicy Ranch. Again. But apparently the employees have some kind of vendetta against actually putting Extra Spicy Ranch on the sandwich when you order Extra Spicy Ranch. I can just picture someone reading the ticket: "Oh look, the customer has explicitly said they want Extra Spicy Ranch! They even PAID for Extra Spicy Ranch! But because I work here, and I am the gatekeeper of Spicy Ranch, NONE SHALL PASS!" At this point I'm convinced there's a giant slug-like mob boss named Cheeba the Hutt, cousin of Jabba the Hutt, sitting somewhere in the back of Cheba Hut guarding the Spicy Ranch reserves. Apparently selecting it online and paying actual money for it isn't enough to get past Cheeba. Every time we pay for extra, never have we got extra - how do I know? Because the sandwich is dry. I ordered a Build Your Own because Cheba Hut has decided to no longer carry the A-Train, which was my legit GO TO! I'm still salty about that one. I selected mayo, Dijon mustard, and regular mustard on my sandwich, so thankfully I had enough sauce to keep me content. Mine was actually pretty good. Then there was the Rainbow Crispy. What a con-job! I thought I was getting a Fruity Pebbles crispy treat. Oh noooooo. They watered that sucker down with Cap'n Crunch and Crunch Berries too! If I wanted a Crunch Berry bar, I would've ordered a Crunch Berry bar. Hoodwinked! I do want to be fair because this visit WAS better. Pickup went smoothly, the ingredients were fresh, and after our previous awful experience Cheba Hut refunded our entire order. Their customer service afterward was great, and I absolutely give them credit for making things right. I even reached out before this visit because I didn't want anything free. I just wanted to pay for our food, have it prepared the way we ordered it, and hopefully get back to having the positive Cheba Hut experiences we used to have. And that's really where my frustration comes from. Cheba Hut used to be a "Fo Sho!" for us. It was one of those places where you knew what you wanted, knew it was going to be good, and didn't think twice about ordering. Unfortunately, that "Fo Sho!" confidence has now been reduced to more of a, "Meh... I hope they don't mess it up again." So this visit does redeem Cheba Hut somewhat. We're moving back up to 3 stars. The ingredients are fresh, there's still a lot to like, and I KNOW they can make a damn good sandwich. We just need to figure out how to consistently get the sandwich we actually ordered. read more

Visited this sub shop while in Chandler on business, and I'm really glad I stopped by. The restaurant has a great vibe, highlighted by some really cool pieces of artwork hanging around the space. I decided to try "The Kind" sub, which comes loaded with: Roasted turkey breast & bacon Mushrooms & Swiss cheese Lettuce, tomato, onion, & pickles Shake & House dressing One of the unique touches I noticed is how they size their sandwiches--you can order them as a Nug, Pinner, or Blunt. Stopped in for lunch during the week after my oldest son kept asking to go and boy am I glad he didn't give up. We tried the White Widow and Apollo 13 sandwiches and both were great. Tender and seasoned very well with just the right amount of sauce and toasted to perfection. All of the staff were really friendly and were hustling around clearing tables, dropping off orders and checking on guests to make sure they were ok. The separate bar section is a nice touch and the decorations around the place kept us busy discussing the different artists we knew in the various artwork. The nice variety of krispy treats we picked up on the way out were just icing on the cake. Will definitely be back. read more

Good afternoon my friends, hope everyone had a great weekend. Jen & I got out of the house for a bit and decided to head to downtown Chandler Az. To walk around and get some lunch, we came across Cheba Hut so stopped in for lunch. The restaurant inside is done very nice and making the Ambiance nice to sit down and enjoy the food, might add there is plenty of seating inside and outside. Our server was very nice and checked on us a few times. we ordered the Meat ball sub sandwich and must say very good and happy with our choice for lunch, we made it just in time as the crowd started coming in for lunch which is always a GOOD sign to see. A coworker recommended Cheba Hut, so I decided to check it out. She suggested their bestseller, The White Widow, but since I like spice, I went for the Jamaican Red and wow! the subs were absolutely delicious! Also I really appreciated the cleanliness the person making my sub had a long beard but was wearing a face net, which I'm big on. Brian, the bartender, was attentive, and even as he was finishing his shift, he left everything clean, stocked, and ready for the next person also I learned every Wednesday their draft beers are half off, which makes it even more of a reason to go, good subs, beer, ambiance and a great price. The subs are incredible and very original. I always go with the Kali Mist, but I've tried all the meat subs and they are all great. I feel for overall consistency and vibe the Chandler location is the best. Always friendly staff and always packed. Now the sandwiches to tend to take at little longer to prepare than a typical sub shop so just sit back and relax, enjoy the vibe and awesome decor of the place. You can also have a beer at the bar while you wait. The snacks are all amazing as well, but I'd recommend the capn' crunch or fruity pebble krisp. The brownie is amazing as well. Their offerings set Cheba apart from Firehouse or Subway chains. I don't know if it was their shake house dressing or what but the Kali Sub I had last week was the best sub I've had in the last four years. "The fresh garlic herb bread is the one to order your sandwich on" M said. We selected our beverages and sat at one of their clean bench tables. Lunch was brought to our table within 10 mins, not a bad turnaround time since it was the height of lunch hour. The breast of turkey, bacon, pickle, Jack cheese, avocado, jalapeno, chipotle mayo,lettuce and slivered onion had me smacking my lips after each bite! We decided on 2 Bombs (Meatball) , 1 La Canna (Italian) & 1 Sense Kush (Honey Sriracha BTL) Food came promptly. All the sandwiches were delicious. That said, for the price the "fill" should be a little $ more. Thought it was skimpy on ingredients and not a fully punched packed sub! *Supposedly, they have a Secret Stash Menu. Visited Cheba Hut for a late lunch. I've driven by and walked by Cheba Hut many times and have always been curious. We received a warm welcome by the staff behind the counter. The space is fun and bright with colorful decor and murals. Since it was my first time, I asked a few questions and he was happy to answer all of them. I decided on the Pacific Blue which is a tuna melt. It comes with tuna salad, cheddar, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle, and Shake & House dressing with my choice of bread, the signature garlic herb. I chose the Pinner which is eight inches. We also got a rice krispy treat to share. Our subs were brought to our table shortly after ordering. The subs looked fresh and smelled delicious. I thought I wouldn't be able to finish the 8-inch sub, but I devoured it. It was tasty. I would return! read more

Met up with my friend and a few of my new coworkers in the office for the first time today. We decided to come here for lunch since it's quick, easy, and right across the street! Walking distance but we drove haha. I've always loved the sandwiches here at Cheba Hut. Nice friendly staff and service. Lots of space. Chill environment. We took a bit of an early lunch and beat the lunch rush. There was no line. I think we got there a little after 10:35 and had our food less than 10mins later. My friend and a coworker both ordered the Kali Mist 8" and liked their sandwiches. It was one of their first times here. He said he's been missing out! Another coworker got the Midwest Best (not pictured. He got there a few minutes later) and enjoyed that one. I ordered the KGB with everything on garlic bread and that was delicious!! Truly awesome place. The sandwiches are truly awesome! They are full of flavor and full of ingredients. Mostly when you go to a sandwich place you get a lot of bread and a dusting of toppings. I love the Tempe Chiba. The Chandler Chiba was bigger and set up really nice. Service was friendly and of course the sandwiches are great. The G13 is my favorite! I said no onions but the sandwich had onions on it. Honest mistake but attention to detail next time. I love the one in Tempe and now I love the one in Chandler. The food was great. I ordered Acapulco chicken and provolone sub. It had tomato and lettuce barbecue and I ordered an iced tea. And the great thing is is I asked for the sub to be heated and it came perfectly heated. And it came in this really cool bag that was duct taped And I looked at my iced tea and the straw is duct tape to the cup and the opening is duct tape so no one can take sips and there's no spillage.
