Scam! Do not do business with them. Owner Steve supposedly lost my two laptops after he transferred the data onto a portable device, and refuses to give me a laptop to replace the two he lost. This operation is a scam. It was the owner, Steve, who physically assaulted me on S Coast Hwy, There are witnesses, and the police were called. I am taking him to court now to get my property back. Took my laptop there to replace the keyboard. Received the laptop back in a day, the keyboard was working, but there was a gap on the side. It looked like something was jammed there and therefore it didn't click back together. Decided to turn the computer on to double check if I've saved all the work before shutting it down and found it non-responsive. After battery had run out of juice it turned of completely and never came back to life. After taking it back to the shop, we were told that the problem of computer not working wasn't their fault and there weren't doing to fix it. Anyhow, we agreed that we would pay for the repair if only we can find out what happened. After the computer sitting in the shop for 3 weeks (yes, weeks) there was no progress. At that point we decided to pick it up and take care of the problem ourselves. Upon pick up, our laptop was missing every single screw from the back and looked as if someone was eating KFC off of it. In my opinion, you can judge a place pretty well but how they handle the small stuff. I switched to a desktop and needed a DVI cable so I stopped in here is my work didn't have a spare one and it is on my walk from my office to home, they charged twice as much for a used, bulky older cable than what I would get a frys for a new one and marked my receipt "no return" just in case I had the idea of using this one for a couple days and then bring it back after I got one for better deal. I needed it as I just switched monitors today, so I paid as the trip to fry's would have cost me that in gas. I imagine that apply the same ethics to the rest of their work. They probably know their stuff, but be prepared to pay for the convenient location. All though, it might have been because I was a girl. Because, we all know girls don't know anything about computers (tell that to the tower my sister built and I recently upgraded and our degrees in mathematics). Awesome customer service & merchandise! I recently replaced my MacBook Air with a newer version with a larger Hard Drive from Zippy Laptops. I found the laptop on Craigslist and called and asked if they would hold it for me and asked about the price. The manager/owner (not sure) told me that he would lower the price to make it an even $650 so I wouldn't have to worry about the tax. I showed up a few hours later and the laptop was there and I paid exactly what was advertised. I know Apple Products and this is a top notch laptop that I won't have any problems with. Went here to get my husbands laptop fixed the week before he deployed, went in, paid, guy took that laptop and said it would be done the next day. My husband called in the afternoon of the following day asking when we could pick it up and one of them told him that he had no idea what he was talking about, that the other guy was wrong and it would take about a week to fix (it's just a hard drive swap). My husband didn't have that kinda time since he was deploying. After arguing with him, the guy agreed to have it done by the morning of my husbands departure. We picked it up that morning and had no issues with it, but their customer service is extremely lacking and they're chaotic and cannot keep track of the jobs. It's a cluster fuck. They had to replace the screen on my iPhone multiple times as the first time they put in a defective screen with dead pixels in it, and the second time he ruined my finger print scanner. I also sold them 2 phones, dropped them off to be inspected for an estimate. Was told that they would call by the end of the business day. Kept calling and calling, either they had not gotten to it yet, or no one answered the phone at all... Finally 3 days later the guy told me that he would call me back in 45 minutes.. An hour later he called me back and offered me 75$ for a broken iPhone 6 and a working LG G3. Honestly I wanted rid of them and didn't want to hassle with selling them myself. But they're total scammers when it comes to buying phones/laptops ect. read more

We took our laptop to a chain to get a virus removed that we couldn't get rid of ourselves. Charged us $169 up front, had for weeks and claimed they got rid of the virus but screwed it up it so badly it would no longer even start up. They did give us our money back. Found Zippy by driving by. Figured we had nothing to lose at this point. Dropped off at 4pm on a Sat. Was fixed and ready by 2PM Monday. Total charge $50. We've had a huge rash of laptop burglaries in this area. Called Zippy to see if my son's stolen laptop was sold there and if they took the ID of sellers. Not very helpful guy says they send a report after they buy it to see if the police have reported it but he was really vague about how that's done. but says that they buy laptops "all the time, every day." I'm thinking that a couple of regular tweekers bringing in fresh laptops don't arouse much suspicion. Bum sells it for $50., shop sells it for $300. read more

Came in for a free estimate on a friend's chrome book that had water damage, and within a few hours I got the verdict that the motherboard was fried and the representative even sent me photos with the details and proof. I then was given options for getting a replacement chip or picking it up at no charge, but luckily they had a reasonably priced chrome book for sale that made more sense to purchase instead. The whole experience was quick and easy without any shadiness or dishonesty, and the prices were extremely fair (can't beat free for diagnostic). I sold my Toshiba Satellite L675-S7108 to these guys. I bought it back in 2011 for about 700-800 bucks. 2.56Ghz processor speed and 500GB HDD. They told me it was worth $50.00. Now that I have thought about it, they cheated me out its actual worth. I'm sure it's still worth a few hundred bucks. Word of advice? Don't sell your laptops to these guys if you want it's worth in cash. I was in need of money quick too, so I sold it to them. read more

I am so Totally blown away right now. I keep having to bring my laptop in, because of the faulty charger port, and they have been awesome every time. But THIS time they've blown my mind. They are trading my laptop for an upgraded laptop AND adding more memory No Charge!! WHAT!!! Their turn-around time on most fixes (that I've experienced) has been 1-2 days. They are always pleasant and professional. They are reasonably priced and they go above and beyond what is expected. Took an ipod classic to them to be repaired. They had it for about a month and I never heard from them. I went in there to check in about it and they said they couldn't or didn't want to fix it. I retrieved it from them and later noticed the metal shell was badly mangled and looked like it was pried open and then put back together poorly. Mine has never been taken apart so this was either NOT my ipod or they did a horrible job of messing with it, and then not able to fix it! I took it back and showed the person working at the store and he said he'd tell the owner and get back to me to try to have the problem resolved. I never heard back from them. I've always had a great experience with Steve and his staff at Zippy Laptops. When I took my laptop to Geek Squad they tried to charge me over $300 to fix whatever was broken and I didn't feel like that was accurate. I took my laptop to Steve and he fixed it in less than 2 days. I refer friends and family to Steve all the time. This place is a joke all staff are rude only person id say is the tech kenny that is great he should be working at a better store. The computer went down 5 hours after I used it took it in after the 4th day they took it back but want to charge a 20% restocking fee. They say I put the virus on it. Last night I came in to return at 555pm they say they close at 7on there voicmail and web site apparently they close at 6. They tried to do the return and the owner did not tech them nor have time to help over the phone and requests me to come in the next day. So I came in while ditching work and told him I did not want to be charged 20% the owner called the cops waisted more of my time then refuses to refund me at all. And bands me from the store this guy is a joke a crook. U can get new lap tops from bestbuy starting at 259.00 why go here when u can get new. He didnt call the cops tell after I said I was going to give him a bad review. Do not go here hell take ur money and try to get u locked up. So as he has requested ill be taken him to small claims court. The original ad on craigslist also said it came with complete Microsoft office and once I complained it was removed from all listings. Im sure they will make all there times say they close at 6 now to. If they do it just shows how valid this review is. Again do not buy anything here. I grew up in oside no one should treat oside locals like this. Were supposed to be a family and help each others out. Hell I have a 400.00 laptop for sell buy from me.
