To have a successful business is a complex process. Many people think you only need a couple of skills - they forget that customer relations, integrity and follow through a fundamental to good business. I was disappointed with PC Repair center because they are very random with customers. Maybe they will call you back and maybe they won't. Call back at 4 and the tech will be back from lunch. I called. He has a line out the door, I don't know when he can call you. Finally, the work was complete. "Oh did anyone tell you that your screen is cracked?" !!!!!!!!!!! yes, they cracked it. Had a bad keyboard and an expiring battery whose aged "bubbling" (didn't even though that was a thing with Lithium batteries) was causing problems on the trackpad. TLDR: Because of a deadline, the overall problem was fixed but other issues arose. Despite this, they deserve your business because given enough time they will go over and beyond to make sure your items are fixed and you have a great experience. 5/5 would go back for any electronic repairs! Back Story (if you want to know): I've owned my gaming laptop (MSI) for about 7-8 years. Of course, with any piece of technology and some good ol' wear-and-tear from consist use and deployments, it finally decided to break down, physically. The frame hinge on the left of the screen completely came undone and tore a piece of the computer screen frame off with it. I was in town for just a week visiting family before having to leave the state and decided to try to get it fixed within this time. Normally, I would've waited but I was pressed on time since there weren't any potential options to get it fixed where I was headed. After scanning reviews of local PC repairs in the area through Yelp, I came across this one. I ended up calling and spoke with Andrew and informed him of the issue. I asked if this was something that could be fixed and he said that they could but the issue would be getting the part in the amount of time. As all things transactional, I then asked him how much would everything cost and this is where my trust in this shop really escalated. Andrew mentioned that the part and the repair would cost over $380. That's a lot of money, in my opinion, for a repair job on an older model computer, but with the time constraint I figured it's well deserved if they could pull this off. However, he goes on to say that if they aren't able to get the part in, they'd wave the typical inspection fee since they weren't able to help. He could have easily withheld that information and just took the money like I'd assume most business do in these situations, but he didn't. What's more is that he didn't leave me guessing if they'd be able to fix it. He was confident in his ability as a professional to get the job done as long as he had the parts to do so. From the drop off date, I would call daily to check in to see the status of my laptop. This may have been overkill on my part but nevertheless everyone that picked up the phone as I called was patient with me and never made me feel like I was acting irrational for the continued check ins. By the middle of the week, there was still no word yet on the arrival of the part and Andrew (super cool for even suggesting this) told me they could ship the laptop to me in the event it didn't arrive on time. I decided to roll the dice on it getting there before I left. Finally, on the day prior to me leaving the state, they got the part in to fix the laptop. I was overjoyed, to say the least. This is where the hardship started to form. ** Before continuing, I want to add that these issues are more than likely due to the constraint of time and the expedient nature of the request that ultimately affected the outcome of this job. ** Once I got there to pick up the laptop, I saw Andrew working on it, still disassembled. Apparently, the part took longer than expected to install because of issues disassembling the bottom of the laptop along with other minor nuisances. I told Andrew it was no problem and told him to give me a call once it was finished. Again, don't want it to get twisted on how incredible of a guy Andrew is because he stayed open nearly 45 minutes past closing time just to finish it all. He called me letting me know I could pick up the laptop, I happily drove over to pay to for the amazing service, and went on my way thinking everything was copacetic. Unfortunately, although the frame was fixed, there were now new issues that turned the laptop to becoming almost entirely useless. Before the fix, the WiFi wiring was frayed and sticking out of the opening the broken hinge made. Despite the aesthetics, it still functioned. However, after getting the laptop back the WiFi no longer works unless directly next to the router/modem. I mean, it practically needs to be sitting on it. Additionally, I had unknowingly left a mouse USB still connected to the laptop and after receiving it back, it was gone. Again, the staff helped as best as they could and ended up finding another dongle of the same brand, however it was not the correct one which puts me out $60 bucks since their are no replacement dongles available for that model on the manufactures website. So basically, the laptop, which again is fixed physically, cannot be used other than offline gaming. Although the outcome did end up causing other issues, I cannot emphasize enough that if this was not a rush job I am 100% certain the outcome would have been positive all around. Even still, I would recommend this business to anyone in the area that wants an upfront experience with professionals that genuinely care about the service you receive and will go the extra mile to do so. read more

These guys saved me...AGAIN! I teach Media Studies at Palomar College. My class is a live broadcast morning talk show. But with the coronavirus, everything has been shut down and moved online. My iMac was driving me nuts because it was running so slow. Bad news for editing videos and posting them online for my students. Got my Mac back just in time to transition to online teaching. The SSD they installed has my Mac moving at lighting speed. I can edit videos now without waiting a 1/2 hour for the program to boot up and no more spinning beachball of death! I should be good for the next 2 or 3 years...by then it will be time to buy a new one anyway. This is my 3rd time they handled computer stuff for me (all different computers) and always professional and first class service! (I would suggest to use another way to label the gear that comes into your shop. The labels you all use don't come off easy and I have to use some sort of acetone to remove all of the residuals) Thanks guys for getting it done and saving me and my students' semester! read more

Read BOTH parts. I was told one thing over the phone and something different in person. It felt like a bait/switch. I left without having them do anything. Afterward, I left a less-than-flattering review. The owner/manager followed up on that review. He explained WHY it happened and sincere in his effort to make it right. Upon giving it a second chance, I was very pleased with the communication, the work, and the outcome. As a side note, I did not receive anything for free for a modified review. I simply appreciated the efforts to correct the situation and gave the small business a second chance. Glad I did. I'll be bringing my laptop in for an upgrade on the RAM next. read more

Had taken computer in originally to do some upgrades such as new larger HD. All seemed well for a month or so... Brought it back and had additional issues. Fixed, but only for a short time and back to the shop. Just picked it up today 1-23. Had an additional USB card installed but issue was no email access or windows applications. Told system was corrupt and needed to reinstall OS. Ok.. Got home and started having issues right away. Contacted Cox who is my ISP and spent over 1 hours with their level 2 techs and could not figure out why I can't get my email. numerous programs were missing such as Wor, Excell, Photoshop and the list goes on. Chaps my rear end I had to keep bringing it back and still does not work correctly. I'm done with them. read more

I dropped off my laptop to fix the space bar. The manager said it would cost over $800 and the next day another employee said it would cost $250. They cracked my screen and refused to fix it. The manager said "I told you it would be risky to bring a MacBook here." That doesn't give them a right to crack my computer! After a month of management and the owner avoiding me, I threatened to take them to court. A different employee took it upon himself to fix it for me. Still I have not been able to get my laptop fixed. Very unprofessional staff. One night, I waited 20 minutes for someone to come to the store to help me. Edit: Upgraded my post to 2 stars for two reasons. 1: They finally fixed my laptop and with great service, but it took a nasty review to do it. 2: Because they called me and asked to remove my 1 star review after they fixed my laptop that they damaged twice. Crazy how it takes a bad review on yelp to finally get these guys to help. Before even mentioning taking them to court, I asked for the owner multiple times and for months I was told that the owner was "busy" and had "family issues." read more

My iphone needed a new battery. I originally took it to Best Buy, apparently an authorized Apple service and repair? ( yeah, the techs at Best Buy are a joke and a bunch of scheisters!) Anyway, the techs at BB wanted to charge me 53.00 for a new battery for my phone and told me they couldn't get to the battery UNLESS they replaced my screen... for 150.00! Left my phone there for 4 hours only to thankfully be told they couldn't do the work. I brought my phone here and was charged SIGNIFICANTLY less just for cost of battery and replacing it! I appreciate their honesty. They told me there was absolutely no need to replace the screen. Thank you guys so much! read more

I went into PC Repair center on Wednesday morning first thing at 9:30am. I had a huge meeting the next day and I woke up to a dead computer. I rushed over to the store and the guy there calmed me down and started checking some basic things. He knew how to do a reset using a little tool that went into my computer and fixed it in about 3 minutes! Then I asked him how much it cost and he told me not to worry about it and that he was glad he could help out. THAT is pretty great service and now they have a customer for life anytime I have a computer problem in the future. read more

Terrific experience with PC Repair! I broke my MacBook Pro Laptop screen and contacted PC Repair through Yelp and the owner, Sami, messaged me back within 20 minutes and was incredibly helpful and answered all of my questions and provided me a quote quickly and stuck to it ($100 flat fee for labor + $349 for a new screen or $289 for a used screen). Just to be thorough, I called around to about five other tech repair places to get quotes and they all were going to charge me $100-400 MORE than PC Repair (for either the part, or labor, or both!)! PC Repair was not only the quickest and easiest, it was by far the cheapest and an overall great experience! I came in the next day (no appointment needed) and Sami looked at it immediately, confirmed the problem, and gave me my options, presenting them nicely, being informative, without being pushy or trying to upsell anything. They had a used screen in store, but I opted to get a new one, so they placed the order immediately, told me it would arrive in 3-5 business days, and then I got to take my computer home with me in the meantime (it still worked on other screens). A few days later, they called to tell me the part arrived and bring it by any time. I came by a few hours later, dropped it off, and within an hour they called me back and told me it was ready! I picked it up, and they had me test it and made sure I was satisfied with it all. It was quick, easy, and the exact price that was quoted, with no hidden charges. Now my computer is good as new! They were nice, friendly, straightforward, incredibly quick, efficient, way cheaper than anywhere else, and stuck to the original quote! I brought in a near-impossible mission to these guys. I found them on Yelp, so I had high hopes because of the reviews. I wasn't disappointed! Basically, stupid me thought that I could replace my laptop screen myself. My screen had some gnarly impact damage, making it a bit difficult to see the left side of my screen. I ordered a new screen online and when it arrived, I was super happy to replace it right away. I don't know what I did, but the screen wouldn't come on after I was done. Thinking I had received a faulty screen, I tried to put the old one back in and now even that one wasn't coming on. So I decided it was time to let a pro handle it. A friend recommended a shop, but it turns out they only worked with Apple products. They at least referred me to another shop, but they didn't even want to touch my computer. In a panic, I turned to Yelp and found Tech Space. With only hours before me leaving town (probably 2-3) not only did they accept the challenge, but they succeeded in getting the screen working again AND they installed the new screen! My gratitude goes out to these guys for their professional service and not backing down from a time crunch like this. Well done, gents! read more
