Chicken and chili combo with Portuguese bean soup

I stop by this location when I visit my mom. It's at an accessible location, but the parking can be tight. There's a restaurant section on the right and a to-go counter on the left. It's not a super clean location and the service isn't as friendly as at some of the other Zippy's. But the food is good and consistent and that's really what I'm after when I stop by.

I got the chicken trio, everything was good the only complain was the fried chicken was tiny. Not sure I'd seen a smaller fried chicken from them than this. They're also $4 a piece! 3/5

Checked in for a party of 6. We had to wait a bit because of the table we requested for needed to be cleaned. Upon arriving at the table, our party wanted to switch tables. The Host did not get upset and lead us to a different table that we wanted to. As we sat looking at the menu, our Waitress Jadelyn A. asked us if we wanted to order drinks. She took our order and left. After a few minutes, she returned with our drinks. I noticed that she had alot of other tables to take care of. She returned as quickly as she could to take our food order. Maybe 10 minutes later, our food arrives. It was hot and correct. She would check on us from time to time. The only hold up is when we were waiting for our bill. This was expected because of all the takes she was servicing. Overall, our party was happy with our foods and the service. I can't hold her responsible for the wait times, so with that being said, I do give her 5 Star rating.

Happy National Chili Day... Yup that's today along with National Strawberry Day and a special recognition for me as well with meeting up with a friend for lunch made it kinda special day and as I drove around like a mission needed to be done I decided to stop at Zippy's and this Ewa location does have a special place in my heart. With a much needed break this I stopped here since they do have lots of free parking and super easy access from either direction you're coming from and the vibe here is relaxing as the dining room is nice and clean, the service here is just so friendly as I jumped to order my regular chili on white rice and it was beanless for me (they have vegetarian as well) and the special was 25% which is huge and who could you some savings...me! You can enjoy their famous chili in so many other ways as mine is on top of spaghetti, but there are Chili Hot Dog, Chili Burger, or just a Chili Plate whatever your cravings they can do it and am so happy to have the lucky timing to enjoy this famous chili on their special day. Thank you!

To me, Zippy's is all about comfort food. I don't know if it's the greatest. I know that the quantities have reduced, but the flavor is the same so it brings back a lot of memories. This location and beach is close by so it's easy to swing by and they have both takeout as well as a dine in. The dining room is very cold so anybody who is sensitive to it being a little bit chilly because of the air conditioning bring a jacket as usual. The service of the waitresses are always very good. They always keep your waters filled if you get water. All in all, this is a good example of a well run Zippys

I got a fried chicken plate for my son and it was horrible. The chicken was so dry and cold. It was probably sitting out for several hours. He was so hungry he still ate it. Poor thing. I wish this establishment would put more pride and effort into their food. I don't plan on wasting my money here again.

Still waiting for my zip min while my family is almost done eating.
    Rex B.

Waited over 20mins for a Zip min and it's not even busy. Fried chicken came out before the zip min. What's in the zip min that will take over 20mins to cook. It only has noodles, won tun and shrimp tempura. Unbelievable always think Ewa Zippys will improve but always their service is so slow.

When you have a hard time deciding where to eat, you can never go wrong with zippys! Love their meat sauce spaghetti and zip pac. Roast pork was a little tough but gravy was good. Ordered through the app, it's fast and easy; so convenient. You even get zip coins that you can later use to get free stuff, unfortunately the rewards expire if not used in a specific time frame!

Ordered an Apple Napple. It's like "Where's the Beef" commercial! Where's the Apple filling??? The napple was fresh and flaky however missing the filling.

The food is so good and tender, portions are big and definitely worth the price. I love thet they open 24hrs. I do wish they improve the customer service. Also the waiting is long.

Little overdue of a review but here we go lol…read more. Diners has been a staple for my family & I , and I'm sure many other families on island for YEARS. Our family's go to was always Cheeseburger and yellow sauce with fries! As time and society evolved , so did Diners, since they became "Upscale" and added more things to their menu. I have tried their Grilled lobster plate more than once from their Upscale menu in the past and I think during that time it was $15? Not sure if it's still that price, but for that price it was a winner! Lobster + salad and rice ? What more can you ask for since that's basically a steal in today's economy. Anyway , I was in the area recently and decided on diners for dinner. I was really craving ahi katsu, unfortunately my go to spot was already closed since I decided on dinner a little after 8pm ish? So I thought .. well diners has ahi katsu supposedly .. why not give it a try. I wasn't expecting much since it was Diner's BUT needless to say.. their ahi katsu is DELICIOUS. Seasoned well and cooked to perfection! I love the sauce they drizzle on the katsu. I should've asked for extra sauce on the side had I known it was gonna be yummy! But that's something to keep note of on my next visit in the future. I definitely would order this plate again! And continue to adventure out on their menu lol. A tip to keep in mind : they do have signs posted by their windows to be patient when ordering because they do take a bit to make and give you your order since they are always short staffed. And there's normally alot of people waiting or ordering since lots come to this establishment right after work or in between work or just simply there for a bite to grab. So prepare to wait .. but sometimes you can be lucky where it doesn't take as long. It does truly depend on time and the day I guess. Also one last thing, my personal opinion , I think Diners is worth grabbing food from. Whether you're hungry , in the area or wanting to grind. Some people have mixed reviews or bad experiences but me personally , I always had a good outcome. Oh also before I forget their steak is delicious too (LOL) , never ordered it for myself but I shared some of it with one of my relatives who ordered their steak before. Give this place a shot!

The wait actually wasn't that bad, maybe 15 minutes. It is a typically diner, counter seatings only. The service wasn't great, but not rude; they take your order and they bring you the food; no pleasantries or small talks, I guess they need to turn the tables (counter seats) quickly. We had the loco moco with fried rice and hamburger steak with multi-grain rice and toss salad; they didn't offer a choice of dressing, but the default asian dressing was delicious. The food was good with very big portions; I had a hard time finishing my loco moco. They served it with lots of yummy brown gravy, the way it should be. My wife enjoyed her hamburger steak as well. Oh, don't forget to visit the bakery side after eating; they have many super yummy baked goodies!

From the moment we walked in, we were immediately greeted and sat down. It was quiet and very peaceful, which I am a HUGE fan of. I hate being in loud overcrowded places so this was already very appealing to us. After reviewing their menu, we were impressed by the choices and the prices. I ordered the loco moco and my boyfriend ordered the Famous fried rice omelette, along with a side of banana pancakes. The food came out within 10 minutes maybe less and the portions were massive! I'm quite picky when it comes to loco mocos because most places don't make them well enough. Usually the friend rice is plain, the patty is overcooked and the gravy is flavorless. HOWEVER, the fried rice was incredible to start, the patty literally melted in my mouth and the gravy was flavored very well and had the perfect amount of salt. If I'm being honest, that was the best loco moco I've eaten at a restaurant ever! My boyfriend's omelette was super good, he had the same fried rice I did and the egg was cooked perfectly. Pancakes were an absolute chefs kiss. I'm a huge sucker for Dennys pancakes over ihop and these pancakes blew Dennys out the door. On top of the food being perfect, the customer service was so good. They never missed a refill, they gave us their house made kimchee to try and WOW! (They sell it in 12oz tubs too) The workers were so so so kind and to top it off they gave us cookies to take home! Not to mention, we only spent $55 for everything we ordered! Great pricing if you ask me. I have not had such a great experience anywhere in a while so this just made my day! I pray blessings on blessings to the people who work here and own the restaurant! I can't wait to come back and try their lunch menu!

Daughter had the salad, was delicious as always with mixed greens, tomato, and good dressing. Can't go wrong. We were both bowled over by how nice and crunchy/crispy the breading on the chicken cutlet was and how tender the chicken was. Mushrooms really added umami flavor. BCD nailed it with this dish! Hubby had French toast and he enjoyed it. you order two of the weekly specials you get a choice of desserts - BCD signature bread pudding or the brownie pie ala mode. We choose the brownie pie and we're so impressed by how amazing it looked - Anela made it beautiful - and how awesome it tasted. Decadent chewy fudge brownie, Dave's vanilla bean ice cream, whipped cream, all drizzled with chocolate syrup and dusted with powdered sugar. This was to die for! Highly recommend it and the chicken cutlet. Only complaint was the music was so loud it was difficult to talk to the others at our table and to hear our server.
