This only happened after I filled out the survey reviewing my experience. Then I received an email saying that they would address the staff. Then I received another email saying they would address the staff and I responded asking about my refund. Finally received a cryptic email that apologized and asked that I leave an address in future communications...I wrote back because I wasn't sure if that was their way of asking for my address. Was new and different, modern for us guys. Plus, never have go dat far now.. Neva taught we'd get one for us, but we did. Tank goodness. I've grown up since then. And so has Zippy's but they have continued to serve that wonderful food us locals have known and come to love. So much so that's what we think about when we are away from the islands. Katsu, teriyaki, fried chicken, beef stew, spaghetti all cooked when ordered. Let's not forget their famous chilli. i can eat several servings with hot rice. Zippy's good quality has changed over the years. We picked up chili chix plate & hamburger steak for lunch and the chili was totally watered down. Idk if they just added water to stretch out their portions but I didn't even bother finishing my food. The food there used to be my families' staple growing up in Hawaii. The hamburger steak has changed from what it originally used to be. Now it tastes like a grilled slice of a meatloaf with some watered down gravy on it & barely any grilled onions. So we went here in the afternoon for a late lunch. I had a corn chowder with saltine crackers and a Wun Tun Min ramen bowl. My kid had a kids hamburger combo. We had deserts as well, but forgot to take photos. I had a chocolate parfait with ice cream, and it was good. My kid said the hamburger was good, but the fries could have beeb better. A tough customer this little one is. The Wun Tun Min is my go-favorite at Zippy's. As usual, it was awesome. This is my first time trying the corn chowder. It was okay. It's been quite a while since our family dined in and it will be the last for a long time at zippy's. Why? Because of a 2% "kitchen charge" added to the cost of our food. You can read the reasoning for yourself in the pic. Basically it's a "tip" for the back-of-house. Unlike a regular tip where you can decide after, they now add in a tip ahead of time. So what if my food doesn't come out in a timely manner? Or doesn't taste good? I still have to pay 2% more. Unfortunately both of those things happened and I will not dine in again. I look at the menu and decided to get the meat loaf with corn and white rice. You can substitute the Mac salad. I don't care for Mac salad so I got the corn. I literally thought the meat loaf would be plain with ketchup lol! I didn't care for the gravy but I ate it anyway. The plate was just enough for me. The food is always good! I get the golden fried chicken, and the desserts like custard pie, and glazed doughnuts. Love it! Service is good, ladies are friendly and try to get your order as quickly as possible. Ambiance is still pretty clean. Wish Zippy's woukd get their establishments more updated as far as comfort. As I'm a designer, it really lacks appeal. You're just there to eat and they want you to leave as quickly as possible.. which, I guess serves its purpose. We have seen Zippy's after Zippy's and never taken the time to go into one, until today. It was a good dining experience. The service was zippy and the food was pretty tasty. Our meals were reasonably priced too! The menu seems to have a lot of things to choose from but I cannot see myself eating here so often because alot of the food is starchy or fried. Anyhow if you make it to dessert (which I highly recommend you do) give their cherry cake a try. It is light, fluffy, and delicious; a little slice of heaven. Jaunie O. I've been to this Zippy's many times and have been frequenting various Zippy's more since the pandemic because my wife and I feel safe when ordering and receiving our food from Zippy's. They are very thorough with their distance and cleaning. They make sure that there is no human contact when taking food out of the restaurant. Recently we ordered a couple of breakfast bentos to go and I noticed that they offer take and bake cornbread for just $3.96 and it comes in a disposable baking dish. I was curious so I purchased one and made cornbread that evening. The verdict? It was pretty delicious so much so that I've heard that you can buy raw croissants also so I am going to inquire about them the next time I bro to Zippy's. Beware of their unethical business practices. Watch your bill for hidden kitchen charge. When you bring it up they will point to text on the bill where it tells you what the charge is. The charge is to help them recruiting kitchen staff. If you never notice the charge they will not tell you about it. Basically it is theift that they will remove if they are caught. read more

Early morning breakfast had me making a stop here at Zippy's in Ewa Beach. Lines were practically non existent and parking was wide open. Unfortunately despite me and only a few others in the restuarant, the wait for my saimin and mushroom burger order was extremely long. This was a little fustrating but I was atleast a little happy for the free drink the staff provided me in return. The food was ok... ish... The saimin was warm but not hot, the ball of noodles they threw in was still a little cold in the middle, and the mushroom burger didnt have cheese not sure when that became a thing but ok... Customer service issues and wait times aside (when you go in to order) this Zippy's is my favorite because it has a drive through pick up window! Just call your order in and drive through. I don't think it gets any easier than that? Not to mention, when I called my order in yesterday - an older man, with a heavy Filipino accent took my order - and that was probably the best customer service I've ever had from Zippy's! Had a late dinner with my wife last night. Waitress (Jadelyn) was very busy as the section we were in had several groups pop up late. She handled it like a rock star. It was primarily her and the hostess (who helped bring the food and clean after) who was running the orders. Had to give her a shout out. Zippy's for my family is primarily comfort food. It could just be because I'm a visitor to the Hawaiian islands, but I really liked the couple trips I made to Zippy's and the food quality. It definitely beats L&L for sure! My friend lives by this location so I got takeout with a couple girlfriends while we were here. We ordered online seamlessly and our food was ready at the estimated quoted time for pickup. I tried and enjoyed their loco moco, teri beef, spam musubi and saimin. Everything was cooked just to how I liked it and it's not expensive! Half plates were the perfect portion in my opinion; a full-sized portion would definitely be a couple meals for me. Next time I would like to try their desserts and chili! I definitely would come back to Zippy's the next time I'm in Oahu for a quick easy Hawaiian food fix. read more

I've always had a good experience at Zippys but this was the worst experience. The hostess looked didn't say anything just walked us to our table and pointed to it, said our servers name, put the menus down and walked away. Then our server said "drinks" and did not make eye contact at all. I ordered the chicken trio. The Korean chicken was pink and bounced when I tried to put my fork in it. There was still strands of bloody meat in there. And the chicken katsu meat was very dry. When I let our server know, she rolled her eyes and just asked what kind of chicken it was so she can get me more. I asked for it to be removed and the manager did. This place is a small chain in hawaii. This one is colocated with a bakery. It was ok. Here you place your order and either sit in the dining area and eat or take it to go. You can also go through their drive thru and not even get out of your car. The food took a bit longer than usual to get, especially at a semi-fast food joint. I ordered the Zip Pack, which gives you a little bit of everything, spam, beef, fried chicken on a bed of rice. It tasted ok. Zippys Ewa customer service is very poor. I made a mobile order at 737pm and the app told me that the food would be ready at 812pm. My husband went to pick up the food and he did not receive our food until 9pm!!!! Yes, Zippys does get busy so send a courtesy message stating that you are busy and food delayed. I honestly would rate Zippys 0 stars. After being on hold for 20 minutes, I got to speak to a cashier, Imari. Told her my concerns and she offered me to refund me for my order. I accepted her offer and asked her to please relay the message to her manager. This is not what I called for but just notify management that the service has dwindled over the years. Second, the girl they hired to work in the pastry section, yeah, not bright. I'm describing the girl who worked on Sunday, December 18th at around 7:15 in the evening. This is a really good spot for fast casual Hawaiian food. I had chili, mac salad, and fried chicken and it was just what the doctor ordered after a long flight. This location is super easy to find and there's lot of parking and fast, friendly staff ready to help. Once you order, they'll bring the food to your car and they also have limited table service inside the restaurant.
