Came here for breakfast by myself. There was this big family ordering in front of me. They seemed really indecisive and not ready to order, so I had to wait behind them for quite a while. Not their fault though. There were 4 other staff members and 2 registers open, but hey, I guess they can just let the line keep forming behind me. I always come into Zippys for lunch or dinner. it's close to home & food is always so good, why I am always here. Today's experience. We sat in the dinning room, around 3pm. Got sat immediately & server came really fast. (: was asked right away what we wanted but needed a couple minutes. She came 2 twice asking if we were ready before my boyfriend knew what he wanted. Service overall was really good, refilled our drinks, asked how the food was, service is always good. I always get the same thing, complete meal with salad dessert, saimin & a side chicken. YUM! The salad portion was smaller than normal, also the chicken was small for $3.00. Boyfriend got bean less chili with cornbread! Only compliant today. As an Ewa Beach I frequent this Zippy's location quite often. While I've always enjoyed Zippy's food I do think that this Zippy's location needs some work with their efficiency. Wait times are unusually long compared to other locations. On numerous occasions I experienced wait times of 15-30 minutes for my food orders at the fast food counter. They have an awesome drive thru option which is very convenient. The problem is they probably answer their phones about 5 out of 10 times I call. I totally understand that they can't answer my phone order if they are really busy. But I often decide to just walk in and then notice the restaurant only has a handful of customers. So why couldn't they have answered my calls? Waipahu Zippy's seems to have less staff at their location but they seem to have things in order as good are consistent and wait times are reasonable. As an Ewa resident. I hope they can improve on this. read more

Waited 30 mins for my order after putting in a mobile order and I ordered only ONE plate and Requested ONE item To be substituted for chicken. They substituted for fish instead of chicken. I came home expecting to enjoy dinner after a long day of work, only to have my order wrong. I tried calling to have the situation fixed, spoke to 2 people and they said the manager will call back, manager has never called. I spent $15 for 1 plate and it wasn't even right. What a waste of my money and the fact that they're not willing to fix their mess up, despicable. Being a Saturday night, its usually a little busy. But we were able to find parking and decided to eat in the takeout area. I had to have my chocolate shake which is extra thick and which I love. My husband loves to get a zip pack because it's filled with a little bit of everything that Zippy's is known for-fried chicken, mahimahi, teri meat and spam. It's an easy meal to buy when you're on the go. Most Zippy's are 24 hours so if we ever have cravings late at night, we know where to go to get comfort food. read more

Prices are pretty cheap for what you get. This is a good fast food place for a more homey meal than McDonald's. The saimin was only $4 for the large and there was a good amount of noodles for us budgeting fast food folk. Chicken Katsu was okay but pretty greasy. Would recommend to people on the go only. Overall food was okay. People working behind the counter were very welcoming and friendly. I sometimes have odd requests at food places as we all do and this time I asked for a cup of ice and for the woman to fill my coffee from 7-Eleven with ice. She was very gracious! read more

I wasn't sure how the on line wait list worked, even after reading through it a number of times. Apparently, you cannot make a reservation in advance. You just put your name on the wait list. There were 2 people ahead of me, so I added my name. I had planned to meet 2 other friends for breakfast on Saturday March 6th. I told them to leave now, and we'd probably get there in time. The instructions were also a little vague at this point. It said that they would text you when your table was ready and that was when you should come back inside. I am assuming that they wanted you to get there first, and then put your name on the on line wait list. I got the text that my table was ready as I was driving there, just a few miles. I got there, and there was a group of people all waiting inside, and no one at the check-in. Finally a waitress came over, and one of the other people waiting told her that she had gotten a text that her table was ready. Waitress just walked away. Few minutes later, waitress comes back, and I say that I had also gotten a text. She asked me my name, and showed me her iPad and said that was 37 minutes ago. That was when I made the booking and left my house, not when I got the text. My friend tried to explain this to her, but she just said not to worry that we would all get seated. Finally another waitress approached and called my name and we went for our temperature check. Temperature check machine wasn't working, so we had to wait for that to be resolved. At last we got to our table. Third friend arrived while we were looking at the menu. Since no one was at the reception area, friend just walked over to our table, no temperature check. After all that, everything went smoothly, but I felt like we were jumping through hoops just to get breakfast! Food was good, but no hash browns. WHAT!? Otherwise the food was good, but getting to that point was so haphazard that I don't think I'll go to Zippys for dine in any time soon. Just had a simple takeout order and this is what happened: ZipPak and Pork Cutlet w/potato salad. I was waiting forever and I noticed the manager step to the food window and pointing to the touch screen and schooling the employee. Then he pushed the pork cutlet back to the cooks and said this was supposed to be pot salad, and the cook said that the pot salad already went out.....MY ORDER WENT TO THE WRONG CUSTOMER!!! I purchased a Custard and Pumpkin Pie from Zippy's this evening and it was not good. The quality of there pie is below average. I use to buy a pie every week. When Covid hit they stop making them. It looks like something a beginner makes at home and the crust is like so bland, thin and not at all flaky. Please stop sacrificing quality of money. I use rave about your guys food. This location is sorely understaffed in the evening hours. I sat on hold for 15 minutes waiting to place a phone order. By the time I got to the restaurant they still hadn't answered their phone! Seems like orders from the drive thru are serviced with higher priority than walk in customers who've been on hold for 15 minutes. Smh. The staff here does their best, but they just can't keep up with the demands of a drive thru and carry out window with just one cashier! For sit down restaurants this is by far one of the best in this area of Oahu. The service is always great. The waittimes are not that long. And the food is the same great quality Zippys meals that every local loves. When I have to drive way out past Honolulu or Pearl - I am not that adventurous when it comes to me having to eat after a long day of meetings for work that tired me out to no end. So a sit down is a welcome comfort especially with a warm comfort food Zippys meal. The short order area may or may not have any bakery that is nice left at the end of a long work day- but that is reasonable. The waitimes since I am eating later is pretty ok for just a mushroom burger and fries for the take out window. I know that is my go to meal when I am undisisive. I'm happy and I like it. If nothing else- I can get my hot chilli from the fund raiser coupons and just get sides of fried chicken and rice to go with it to make a meal. Always a local winner! Worst Zippys to eat at. Never dinning in here again. Fist it took them 10 mins to come to serve us, my salad that I ordered came the same time as my food. So their is no sense eating that. Second I ordered a large sprite I finished eating my dinner that's totally crap and still never got it. The chicken was terrible seems like they haven't changed the shorting on their deep fryer. They forgot my sons swim in so we had to wait for his. And I reminded the server about my sprite for the 5th time and still never got it, and I guess they don't serve water no more. It's your typical Zippy's, nothing out of the ordinary. As a whole, I do miss the older days of Zippy's as there's a slight difference in taste, and a large difference in portions to price. That said, the old favorites of a chili/chicken mix plate or a Zip Pac, still hit the spot. read more

When I moved out to the West Side, I was excited to discover a Zippy's down the street from my new place. I was also excited to find out that not only was this Zippy's down the road but that they have an order pick up window. SCORE! or so I thought. Let me just say, every time I call this location to make a pick up order, I am on hold for a little bit. (5-10 MIN) Most of the time I give up and just order when I get there. With that being said, I try to call ahead because I do not like waiting long for my food. This place takes the cake for wait time. It not only takes a while for my food to be prepared but the workers don't really seemed engaged in the customer service. They take your order and allow their attitudes do the talking. Very disappointed in Zippys. Not a local fave for me and I will no longer recommend this restaurant to my clients. Menu changed and so minimized that I don't see what the wow factor could be to entice people to eat here. The service or shall i add disservice, is well below anyone's standards. 2 hours wait for 2 chili fries and spaghetti plate. I won't put this on the front line but more on the management and the owners. If they valued the locals and our $$ and TIME, they would have a better system that would represent the customers value. The prices are up, and the portions are smaller. I've held my comments about this place for many orders but this one set me off.
