Stopped in on a weeknight to grab some dinner. This place is very popular for breakfast and lunch however they also do dinner. When the weather is nice they have an outdoor patio you can sit on. It's very bright and clean inside with large TVs throughout to catch a game. The menu was small, probably due to Covid but they offer some really good options. We decided to try the nacho appetizer with chicken and their hummus appetizer. The nachos were fantastic we would definitely get those again. The hummus was good. I don't know that I would order it again. I got a house salad with blackened salmon on it for dinner which was fantastic! Overall, it was a great experience I would definitely go back and try their brunch. read more

Why not? If you want tasty food in a casual and comfortable setting Zisters is your place. I shared the traditional avocado toast and shaved radish salad with chicken. The toast was very good with heirloom tomatoes but needed some added salt. The salad was fresh and the dressing had good flavor but the radishes were clearly chopped and not shaved. My son had a mushroom panini but it was 'too good to share' he told me! So... why not give it a try for yourself. read more

Zisters you can count your days! I've ordered the billionaire bacon several times and you always mess up the order. We ask for the bacon to be soft as when it's burnt it's non edible, a waist of money and food! Here is my "soft" bacon. When we called to speak about fixing it, a woman told me it's an hour wait so they'd have to call me back. Really!?! That's not customer service. If you are looking for a cute little spot for breakfast, this is a good spot. Menu had a lot of options to choose from so I will definitely need revisit this place. Service was good. Only thing I will say is that the coffee could have been hotter and they could use some salt and maybe some garlic on their potatoes. The seasoning they did have didn't give it enough flavor. But even with that fact, we will be back. As far as Covid procedures, they let you sit wherever you want. Which doesn't help if you want space between you and other people. The servers wore masks, however at times they had it below their noses. The main thing that was comforting for us is just that their wasn't that many people inside when we went. read more

Biked here for brunch. Unassuming from the outside but a clean, crisp, non-Penelope's feel about it on the inside. Arrived around 7:30 we were the first ones in and seated by the open garage looking window. Somewhat of a coffee snob and the coffee here did not disappoint. Had 3 refills without any hesitation. My brunch companion ordered a flight of 3 Benedict's (kudos on that idea) which for only $2 more the upgrade was worth it. Dish was accompanied by fingerling potatoes. Ok now for my dish. I have always wanted to try chicken and waffles but usually shy away thinking for my first time I should be somewhere in the south. Took the risk and ordered it and oh my what was I waiting for this combo was delish! The waffle was crisp, the syrup had just the right amount of sweetness against the slightly hot chicken coating. The generously sized 3 pieces of chicken had the perfect balance of moisture and crispy coating. Very good way to start the day! They had a bottomless mimosas option which was tempting but seeing we had to bike home didn't think that would be smart. The bathroom was a little dark and thankfully there was a sign instructing me how to use the soap - never saw a dispenser like that. Will be back to try the tapas. The service was terrible! We had a reservation and they kept walking around our table well we were waiting for the last couple of people. They were around every corner watching us. Finally one of them decided to come up to us and said "we need chairs so we're gonna have to take these". I'm sorry but if your a restaurant you need to be prepared for reservations. They were talking about us as well at the counter and would not stop staring. Very uncomfortable experience. We also asked for condiments and it took them forever we were already almost done with our food. The food was decent but the service given was terrible. We will not be returning. Wow check this place out! Went with a large group of 9 last minute. They were kind to save us a spot for brunch at 1130am Saturday! Food - tastes amazing! Plus if you love big portions, this place has BIG portions. Benedict flight - I recommend this. You try all the Benedict's (3 of them). So good. Their egg takes the cake. Avocado Toasts - omg. Soft, flaky, tons of avocado, with a punch of balsamic flavor on top. Look at the photo. It's amazing. It's huge. It's awesome. Billionaires Bacon - best bacon ever. Can't describe it. Just try it. Beignets - yummy to share. Chocolate sauce made it better. Service is great. Our server was Destiny and she did a great job welcoming us, and checking in on us. Run, don't walk to Zisters' weekend brunch! They served up the best bottomless mimosas I've ever had. Seriously, our waiter would just bring the entire bottle of champagne to our table to pour right into our glasses then top it off with a bit of OJ. Amazing. I'm really slacking when my 17 year old daughter is turning me on to the best new brunch restaurants. Happened today when she took me to Elm Grove to try brunch at Zisters. For starters I really like the decor of the place. Nice size dining room with at least 10 seats at their bar area. Garage door style windows that can be rolled up when the weather allows. Super dope feel that I've yet to see in a restaurant that serves only brunch. Ordered a couple mimosas to start the grapefruit was way better than the traditional orange juice mimosa. Nice creative drink list beers and coffee are also available as is the hard stuff. We ordered the chicken and waffles an acacia bowl, salmon flatbread, and a waffle with raspberry add-on. The chicken and waffles was amazing. Best tasting Fried Chicken I've had anywhere in a long time they hit it out of the park with that dish. Salmon flatbread was good and Acacia Bowl was also tasty. All the food coming out of the kitchen looked very visually appealing I definitely will be back to try other items on the menu. read more

I've been curious about this place for a very long time. Because of the outdoor patio options I decided to give this a whirl. Restaurant was open here so we opted for inside as it was ample seating. Staff was helpful, friendly and prompt. Menu had a variety of options. I was curious about the pan with lemon ricotta and berries perfectly cooked poached eggs huge club sandwich enough to share which included aside. The coffee was points as I'm pretty much a coffee snob and very seldom order coffee unless it's a specific brand. Their special blend is bold and smooth and leaves you wanting a 2nd cup. 3 stars for the food and pricing. I won't complain about the long wait for food or coffee refills but the real issue is the 20% tip that is automatically added. If you don't read your receipt then you will add on the 20% already added. What happens if you don't want to tip 20% because of things like long wait for food or coffee refills? We asked our waitress about this and she said, oh yeah we add it automatically on Saturday and Sunday's. There was no mention of this anywhere when we sat down. Let me start by saying that I am a firm believer that NO food or drink establishment can be 100%, there are just too many variables. It is what happens when the establishment fails that makes all the difference. Our family gets together for a group breakfast the first Sunday of each month and experience different locations every month. This month (November) we patronized Zisters. The visit came off the rails with the service of the starters, when the Beignets were delivered to the table the server tipped the wooden plank spilling the chocolate and fruit dipping sauce on me, with the statement "oops, sorry". I had the sauce on my shirt, pooling on the crotch of my pants, down 1 leg and on both shoes. She promptly went a got a towel to clean the floor but offered me nothing to clean the chocolate sauce that was now on me. Someone from our group had to go and request a towel from the bar. A person that identified herself as the manager came to the table and her idea of how to handle the issue was to offer me a drink, when i wasn't interested in a drink she than offered to remove the Beignets' from the bill, when I just stared at her in disbelief that this what she thought would make it right she than offered to remove the Billionaire's Bacon from the bill as well. Never offered to pay for my meal but did at the end or visit did offer to pay a dry-cleaning bill. Not sure about you, I have never taken jeans and a sweatshirt to a dry cleaner much less suede shoes. When the bill arrived, we were not going to leave a tip, BUT there was no choice, they put an automatic 20% on the bill. Yes, Accidents happen. Tipping is a process of showing your thoughts on the service provided. There in no need to provide good service if you are going to force your customers to pay 20% even after dumping sauce on a guest. As I stated in the beginning am a firm believer that NO food or drink establishment can be 100%, there are just too many variables. It's fish fry Friday in WI so I decided to try the fish fry at Zisters. Last time I was there for brunch I felt like my food was just ok. The good news is that the fish fry is better! I wanted to look at a current menu but couldn't find one online anywhere and the Zisters website is down. One of us wanted to try something else, but with lack of a current menu, fish was safe. I arrived at 5:30 and there were a few people in the restaurant. All staff were masked. My order was ready at the bar. About the fish fry. I ordered a 3 piece and actually got 4 because a couple pieces were a little small. I appreciate their thoughtfulness to make sure I got a decent portion. It was battered nicely and still crispy when I got home (the bottom got a little soggy but I expected that). It came with potato pancakes which were good. Not true traditional potato pancakes (I only know if a couple places other than my kitchen that actually make them correctly). Your choice of applesauce or syrup with the pancakes. You can substitute fries if you'd like. There was coleslaw but what really chaps my behind is that coleslaw is so cheap to make and in this case we got about a tablespoon of it. Why??? That was disappointing. Ok, rant over. The "rye" bread was more like a whole grain sandwich bread not a true rye. It also had tartar sauce and a lemon wedge. So would I order again? Yes. It was a decent fish fry - not every place can meet all expectations but still a good meal. Today for Sunday brunch we decided to try Zisters for the first time. We were expecting a long wait since it's on the smaller side. We called ahead to ask for a reservation, but they only take reservations for parties of 8 or more. We got there around 10am and were told that for our group of 7 it would be around a 25 min wait which ended up being pretty accurate. We were glad we got there when we did as it got very busy later and the waiting space got crowded. The atmosphere is cute. Lots of windows, white paint with black trim and leaves and flowers on accent walls. Because it's a small open space, noises echo so it's on the louder, more lovely side. We didn't have any drinks but it definitely seems like it would be a fun place to go for some drinks for either brunch or in the evening. The table next to us had Bloody Mary's that were stuffed with toppings. Some of us ordered coffees and we ordered our food. I split the veggie omelette and the triple berry French toast with another person and felt comfortably full after, but in my opinion the food was average at best. I am usually skeptical of a brunch place when they don't offer pure maple syrup as an option for your French toast/ pancakes and I didn't see that listed as an upgrade option on the menu. 3 stars represents the fact that the food was not as great as many of the other wonderful brunch places Milwaukee has to offer, but it was also not bad in anyway and the prices were reasonable! read more

This will definitely be in my repeat list. Took my daughter, son-in-law, and a friend here for brunch on a Thursday. Everything was just wonderful. Our server was attentive, very knowledgeable, and made great recommendations. She was right about the bloody Mary, really one of the great ones in the area. Plus the grilled cheese sandwich garnish was warm and yummy. For brunch they offer flights of several menu options, including Benedict's. Can't decide, have a flight of all three. They also offer flights of the avocado toast and the French toast. Love that. Had the Benedict, asked for 7 minute poached eggs, that's exactly what I got. They were perfect. The hollandaise is fresh made and also tasty. My parties selections were also yummy. I'm glad we chose this spot, and will definitely be back. read more

OK so here's the deal. I really enjoyed the food. The bacon was nice and thick. And the French toast was very delicious! Very delicious! HOWEVER....I had a very serious concern when it came to their service. First of all, I had to seat myself as no one was up front and one guy told me to just "find a seat.". This led to me not having anyone come to me for almost 20 minutes. And it's not as if they didn't notice me and several of the wait staff just either stared at me I walked past me. Finally one of the young ladies that I flagged down, Victoria, ended up being my server but she was a bit temperamental from the beginning. In fact, I had to tell her to straighten up her behavior and be professional so that wasn't ideal. However she ended up doing a fantastic job after I talked to her. So all in all I will recommend that if you are in that area and looking for brunch to go to a Zisters. Again they do have good food and mistakes happen. However I have to be honest and say that their service needs to tighten up as that was pretty unpleasant and frankly uncomfortable. So on that note I will give them three stars. I have been hearing about Zisters for quite some time now and finally made it over to give them a try. It was after 10 on a Saturday and the parking lot was full. Kind of a random set up of a parking lot and a ton of wasted space where more parking could be added - but I'm sure that has nothing to do with Zisters. It's in a strip, so nothing to look at from the outside. They do have a patio closer to the road and they had their domes setup for the coming Winter months. Once inside, it was a millenial dream for decor. There is a neon sign and a faux leaf wall and overall very cute. We appreciated there was seating in the front because we had a twenty minute wait. Once we were seated our server came over and took our drink order. The coffee mugs are nice and big, which is great for not having to refill very often. We decided to split the trio of french toast - which included Cinnamon Sugar cream stuffed, mixed berry, and caramel nut crunch. It's pretty much impossible for me to choose a favorite, I think the choices are different enough to complement each other! I also ordered eggs and bacon a la carte and was loving the bacon - it was cooked perfectly. We enjoyed our first visit to Zisters, and we'll definitely be back again. They mentioned their foray into dinner and showed us a menu of their choices. Definitely want to give that a try if it's anything like their brunch! read more

I woke up late on the Fourth of July Monday and had an urge for brunch and a motorcycle ride, so I texted some family members who are spread out around Southeastern Wisconsin to see who was game! But first, where to suggest meeting up that would be practical and delicious for all? Yelp maps mode did the trick, getting all 6 of us together for an impromptu meal. I was skeptical when I rolled up to the little spot in a strip mall, but was pleasantly surprised upon entering the cool, casual, open dining space. To start, the Mimosas were a hit! Our eclectic group ordered quite a variety, and I turned down zero samples! My dish, a flight of Eggs Benedict, yes, a flight of three, was delicious; Mom's Reuben was tasty and generously portioned; Sissy's Chorizo Bowl was good and hearty; Auntie's Avocado Toast looked fresh and beautiful; other Auntie's Chicken & Waffles was as good as it gets; Uncle's Pork Chop Sandwich took the flavor profile prize. I imagine Zisters is normally much busier than we experienced, as it was a "holiday weekend", so it was a tad disappointing when our server, "disappeared" at the point in a meal when another round of beverages and extra napkins are needed. Luckily, I ordered the beignets for dessert while ordering my meal, so we weren't put off by additional waiting. I was in town visiting family and we decided to go out for breakfast, as it's one of the things my aunt and I have missed most during the pandemic. We're all vaccinated and have been slowly getting back to "normal" life, but places like this remind me of why I've still been so hesitant to eat inside restaurants. If the idea of being served by someone who doesn't have their shot and isn't wearing a mask makes you uncomfortable, avoid this place. My aunt was chatting with the woman who sat us, and in the course of a short conversation we learned that she is not vaccinated, and they all stopped wearing masks last fall when the mandate was lifted. It's your right to not get the shot I guess, but if you're working around the public and you don't have it, AND you won't wear a mask, that's not cool. It's also why we can't shake this pandemic, no matter what people want to believe. Poor pandemic ethics aside, our breakfast was just ok. I got a breakfast bowl that was fine, but could have used salt or other seasoning big time. The coffee was ok, but the mugs were so large that it got cold quickly. Our server was nice, but didn't offer basic items like jelly, salt and pepper or ketchup. The atmosphere of this place is bright and cheery at first glance, but actually kind of cold and basic once you really sit there a while. Looking around, it just felt like they were trying to be Miami Beach and missed the mark, and most of the tables were high tops which seemed strange. The patio was super cute and inviting, but it was way too hot to sit outside. This place just missed the mark for me. The whole experience can be summed up as "fine"; I didn't hate the food, but I didn't love it. I didn't hate the atmosphere, but I didn't love it. And I felt very uncomfortable knowing that at least some of the staff was unvaccinated and unmasked. My last day in Milwaukee and I was craving something delicious for brunch. I turned to Yelp and found Zisters. It was located in Elm Grove which wasn't far from the family I was staying with, yet they had never heard of it. zisters was the perfect brunch spot it was low key with a nice welcoming atmosphere. We sat outside on the patio since the weather was nice. The patio is super cute with multi colored umbrellas and string lights hanging above. To eat I ordered the caprese avocado toast and it was amazing! Everything I ever wanted in an avocado toast! I also ordered an iced latte which really hit the spot! I'll be visiting Wisconsin again in November and I plan on coming back for more! read more

Nice place, great location, great patio. However. They were EXTREMELY short handed! To the point I ended up cancelling my order (which was taking forever to come out), and my sister (zister?) decided to forego the rest of HER meal as well. Poor lil gal waiting tables was overwhelmed, obviously. I'm sure it's a great place, but like everywhere else, good help is hard to find, and these places really pay for it.
