Food is decent. I had the southwest bowl. Tasty. I just wish it came with a little more veggies. Lovely dish overall. Def took the rest home. The chips weren't fresh but it wasnt too stale either. My sever was rude af tho. I was seated first but my server took another tables order before mine. Which is odd. Not to mention, after my bf ordered a drink she turns away from me to say she will be back for our food order. Server was Rush rush and the place wasn't that packed yet. The host who seated us on the patio turned around and walked away from me as i was asking if he knew how to open the patio umbrella. Absolutely delicious Mexican cuisine at great prices! Their dishes are quite creative and well-balanced - I particularly like their combination bowls. The food always is well cooked and of good quality without too much oil or unhealthy buttering up. Highly recommended. As traditional as you can get! All the food was fresh and made with real ingredients. Nothing seemed store-bought and was made to the standard that I would expect from an authentic Mexican restaurant. I could taste all the traditional spices (such as coriander and epazote) instead of cumin or dried oregano that people tend to use - which is the lazy way to make Mexican food! I also had their maize-based tortillas, not the wheat tortillas and I had soft tacos, not crisp taco shells, which made it all the more traditional. I had carnitas and carne asada which were marinaded perfectly and was very, very flavorful. Even the sides were really good. I had a large portion of tomato-based Spanish rice with the lunch combo special, which was fluffy and amazing. I will definitely be coming back! 10/10, would recommend! read more

If you want good Mexican food, then you definitely need to come to this restaurant. They have the best queso, the best fajitas, the best tacos. Oh and the quesadillas with grilled chicken are my favorite. They are so nice and they have been so good with doing Carryout. Really has changed here food is fair nothing to write home about anymore. Just close to the mall and has a patio. So we come for that reason and know the people that started back when they started Don Jose back before they sold it. Service well when you have to wave your waiter down to get help and there only polite when it's time for their tip well enough said. I am giving three stars for the reason that the service was excellent. I went here today with high hopes because of the reviews on yelp. All I can say is DISAPPOINTED. The salsa tastes like all they did was open up a can of tomatoes, throw in a couple pieces of onion and cilantro. The white sauce is basically ranch with some sugar added. I will say they have really good beans and did not go skimpy. I should have only ordered beans because then I would not be so disappointed. My mushroom and spinach quesadilla was without flavor. My husband ordered chicken quesadillas and was also disappointed. The flavored just are not there. I view Taco Bell as slumming but would have had tastier food had I gone there. read more

I had high hopes for coming here, because I had some decent food. I wanted great mexican food. Good side. Service was good. He was attentive and very nice. They had very cheap drinks. That's why I gave it a 2. Bad side. The salsa tastes like all it was from a bottle salsa. Not sure if it was fresh, because it sure didn't taste fresh. This is my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I probably eat here once a week. I won't say it's the best Mexican food I've ever had but I still love it. The waitstaff are always friendly and helpful. The service is great! If your waiter/waitress is busy another one will refill your drink or clear your table once you're finished. They are accommodating to my boyfriend's picky eating by removing things he doesn't like from the dish. I get food to-go a lot and the service is just as good. Since I've changed my eating habits, El cap has been one of my favorites. The food is astounding, and the ambiance is authentic, and the employees are some of the most professional that I've ever seen. One employee in particular, Alex, stands out from the crowd by far. If dining in, I'd highly reccomend requesting him. Although I do not know him personally outside of the establisment, he has proven himself to be a worthy asset to the company, from the customers perspective. He communicates effectively/timely, he always greets with a smile, and most importantly he looks like he knows what he's doing with confidence. Oh this place has some real good Mexican food. My wife and I frequent the every now and again. Here again I get a shrimp soft taco and my wife a shredded beef soft taco. One star because I have to. These poor customers are getting robbed. I asked the waiter if the sauce that was on my enchiladas is made in the kitchen, he said 'YES". The I explained to him how the sauce tasted like it is canned and the only real food on my plate is the chicken. I told him that I am from El Paso and that I have had better authentic food then this, He agreed and then started talking about how the food in this place was not good and how his wife makes better enchiladas back at his house. I'm trying to find the words to express how bad the service was. I went with my husband and kids. We were asked if we wanted a table or booth and when we decided to take a booth we were told to go sit down. I guess he didn't have time to seat us. Then he walked over and literally threw the menus on the table and told us someone would be with us while he was walking away. Someone did come eventually and took our orders. All of our food was completely dried out. I had to drown my fajitas with the salsa from the chips in order to get it down. My little ones had chicken quesadillas and the were full of large chunks of extra dry chicken breast. It was just horrible. They couldn't eat them and after I tried them I wasn't going to force it on them. Once we did what we could with the food our server never showed back up. The people at the table next to us were even complaining that they were ready to go but he hadn't returned to their table either. We didn't find our server before leaving but we were able to get one of the other staff members that was hanging out to give us our bill so we could leave. I highly recommend this restaurant. We eat there every week! Manuel personally goes around to all the tables and greets his customers and he will most likely remember your name and something about you. They are mainly a family run business and he and Lisa do a good job with it. The staff is always friendly, funny and keeps the drinks and chips coming. The chips by the way are hand made daily here they don't come in a box. The red sauce is good the white is AMAZING! My drinks never get less than half empty before they are refilled. The food is very good for the price I have only had one better in Ohio. This is VERY GOOD mexican food and they are not skimpy. I love the Burrito Super. If you get in before 3 pm lunch prices are very good. To the guy from Texas who called them Latino and said bad things go back to Texas. This isn't Tex-Mex its REAL MEXICAN! We wouln't spend 80-100 month going here if the food and service were not excellent. Manuel is so friendly we feel like opart of the family there. Freshly painted and very clean bathrooms too.
