Great concept to have a 24/7 taco spot right in River North. I was one of those who took advantage of the 27/4 and came here around 2am. I ordered the carnita tacos, and they were decently sized for its price, and very tasty! Huge bummer was that they didn't have any other options at that time of day since they "ran out". Tacos were amazing, large and delicious. Especially the Baja fish taco, they did a great job. Wish there was restaurant-type seating but that's okay. It is perfect for takeout. They give you the option to sit in the lobby of the hotel at any table or bar to enjoy the food. You can tell they put a lot love into the food. read more

Holy cow. Okay, not going to lie. I went because they had 15$ off an order to new email list members for their opening week. No minimum - so I figured... free food, why not? Had to write a review based on my experience so here we go: Location: great, except there is no signage for Zombie Taco. Just know that it's located inside the Moxy. They may want to put some kind of signage up. Food: fantastic. Had the jalapeno bacon taco and oh my god. I don't know if I have ever had a better taco. I also tried the brisket and recommend that as well. My sister had the taquitos and said they were probably the best she's ever had and she can be a picky eater. The tomatillo-avocado salsa it came with was AMAZING. LIFE CHANGING even - I poured it all over my tacos too. Ambiance: loved it. You can grab beers from the Moxy bar and sit at any of their different areas (smaller table, farm-style high tops, bar, couches, etc). Coolest part? There's games everywhere. One table had Operation - ours had Uno. We played several games after we ate, enjoying some beers. Has a higher-class feel to it without feeling too hipster-y. We went in jeans but still felt comfortable. I'll most certainly be back. Ah, my favorite River North late-night taco spot. This is a new-ish joint inside of the Moxy hotel. They have a walk up window. This place is open 24/7. Late at night, you can only get food via their walkup window. If you go during the day, you can order inside, but there isn't actually anywhere to sit. It's pretty much a grab and go place. The Zombie Burrito is a must! It's very good. The only downside here is that the food can take quite a while sometimes. But it's worth it! Do the Zombie Burrito challenge! read more

OMG!!! I was extremely impressed with how amazing was this place. First we tried the breakfast tacos, the thick jalapeño bacon was outstanding. The American burrito was also out of this world. The following night, we were at the bar and ended ordering some late night tacos. This time, the carnitas took the prize. The combination and balance of flavors were just perfect. I had the Zombie Burrito w/o the pork but w/ chicken and Chips and Salsa Verde. The chips were ok; didn't have much flavor but the salsa was good. The burrito was very good. I liked how they warmed the burrito so it had that little black to it. Since this is the second day being opened I waited around 15 min. and then the register frozed after a guest had made a purchase. For the burrito being nine dollars again like I said before in my other related views it's over priced. You can go to Chipotle and Qdoba and get a bigger one for a lesser price. How disappointing! I work close by and was hoping this could be a new favorite lunch option. I tried 3 of the tacos, and my coworkers tried the burrito. None of us thought it was good value. The tacos were all $3-4 each which I would be wiling to pay (and have paid) for awesome tacos but they were greasy and a bit of a mess on presentation overall. They had no vegetarian taco options (or the burrito) on the menu, just a veggie bowl. I don't think I would go back unless they made some pretty big menu changes. There are just so many other options in this area. The inside of the new Moxy Hotel looks awesome though. We are planning to check out the bar for afterwork drinks soon. read more

The tacos were only okay, the adobo chicken was bland and the veggie one was bland. The service was rude.

Unfortunately this was such a poor experience. We were lookin for an awesome taco night with great drinks. We had been here via summer, but decided to try During the fall. We walked in, place was awesome. Took about 15 minutes for a waiter. We asked questions on the drinks, he didn't know. Took another 10 minutes to get him back and waters. Ordered our drinks. Only 6 of us. Again, took 15 minutes for drinks. Then when we came back with our drinks, he forgot one and it took an additional 10 minutes. After about an hour we FINALLY got our food. They QUICKLY explained each taco, didn't know who ordered what, so we were left to figure it out. We were never asked if we wanted another drink. They forgot two of our tacos. Waiter never check on us. We spoke with the manager, she said they were just extremely busy and that it would take an additional 20 minutes for the last two tacos!!!! We asked for our bill, not one thing was comped. I'm only giving 2 stars due to the food was awesome and atmosphere. I most certainly will not be back after this experience. Let's just start with the fact that I've given this place my share fair of shots. Each and every single time something goes wrong. On Thursday I was there and....How hard is it to get a simple order out in a timely manner, at least 15 minutes for 1  to go taco .. and nachos, really does not sound like a tall order, I live down the street and cringe when this is the most convienent place to stop. I swear I'll look for 100000 other places before I settle for this place. Moxy is good , but zombie taco is god awful. Don't know how thy are in business. A lot of my friends ageee .. 1 star.
