great spot for happy hour located in the heart of Tribeca! Tacos here are good (had the steak tacos and the steak was juicy) & they give you free salsa & chips during happy hour :) margaritas were great and they were only $9! Nice staff and an aesthetic Mexican pub atmosphere!

This was my go to lunch spot when I worked at the college, was great to have it again. Their tradition did not change- always ending our lunch with a shot on the house The food is always perfectly seasoned - IMO. They're so quick, especially during the lunch rush. Love that they're always attentive. The bartender realized that my friend is Muslim and gave her a shot of sprite instead! Definitely miss this place and can't wait to return again!

Zona is my Mexican "go to" in my neighborhood. The food is delish and a good value for Tribeca- great steak salad, quesadillas, wings, burritos and tacos- the tempura shrimp tacos are fantastic and Jimmy makes a mean skinny Cadillac margarita. But the people are what keeps me coming back- every single person who works there is a warm wonderful human and they treat you like family!! Jimmy, Vi, Magda, Claudia, German, Carlos, Guasco--the list goes on. Treat yourself to a great night out!

Staff were lovely, accommodating and the really on their game. Chips and salsa and water were dropped off immediately after I sat down (and the chips were nice and warm). Marg was ok, maybe a little too much sour mix for me, but it was a nice pit stop walking around the city all afternoon.

Drinks are fabulous. Some food is spectacular but some like nachos can use some improvement. Shrimp tacos...awesome!

we had a group of 9 and the service was quick for a large group. I got a Passion Fruit Frozen Marg and Veggie Quesadilla - both came out fairly quickly. I liked that the margaritas came in two different sizes (I chose the smaller one while the large is 20oz). However, the food didn't impress me which is why I am giving a 4 star. The bathroom is in the basement and can be more well lit.

The food is great but the service is fantastic! I didn't get our waiter's name but he was so friendly and attentive. Free chips and salsa to start off the meal, and I got pollo asado tacos. They're pretty decent, nothing special but I loved the atmosphere and it was a great meal overall!

Really nice location and a big space indoors and outdoors. The food is subpar. It wasn't that crowded when my husband and I arrived. We sat "outdoors." They invested into a cool heating system for the outdoor area. We got chips and salsa and absolutely devoured it because we were starving. We ordered the 12 tacos thinking they were the regular size tacos we usually get anywhere we go. The cost for 12 tacos was $60 ($5 a taco). We were able to choose up to 4 types of tacos but we chose 3. Initially I told our waitress we wanted shrimp and fish in which she replied "ok, 6 and 6" then my husband added that he wanted the Al pastor too. So 12 divided by 3 different tacos would mean we would receive 4 shrimp tacos, 4 fish tacos and 4 al pastor tacos but we received 3 shrimp, 3 fish and 6 al pastor. We were so hungry we didn't complain and what would they have done? Didn't want to waste our food. These tacos were mini tacos...1 shrimp on each of the 3 tacos we received. Overall, Zona Tribeca's portions are extremely small but luckily there are many other restaurants in the surround area.

The hype was absolutely worth it. The adobada tacos were hands down the best tacos I've ever had. I also tried the carne asada tacos, which were good but definitely overshadowed by the adobada. Each taco came topped with onions, cilantro, guacamole, and salsa. We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

This location near Times Square is ALWAYS busy, so expect a line out the door and a battle to find standing room once you actually get your food. There's no time to be distracted here - look at the menu while you're in line so you can immediately know what to order once you reach the counter. Also keep an eye out for people trying to shortcut the line. Prices are steep per taco - is that really surprising in the heart of New York, no - but my favorite is the Adobada: so much flavor packed into the meat and balanced with the sweetness of the pineapple slivers. Second would be the carne asada (get this if you're a guac lover). Their agua de jamaica unfortunately is pretty bland so I'd stick to the classics next time and probably get a bottled Coke. They have a bar at the side for salsas and other toppings, but honestly the salsa is really spicy - yes even for me, the Mexican. I think the tacos are perfectly delicious without it but feel free to take the risk! And stock up on napkins because it can get messy :)

I managed to choose the two best-sounding items I could find, and honestly, they were so bland I don't even remember what they were. The setup and decor were basic. This spot could be a fun hangout, but it would take a better menu and staff who actually seem to care. I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall.
