They have reasonably priced, fresh lunch specials which we always order with a hot tea. They serve brown rice (bonus!) and the selection is great. Medium to high quality rolls, good atmosphere and decent if a little slow on service. - Value for money (VFM) here is higher than any sushi joint in the area, including the super cheap fast food sushi places. Happy hour 8-pc California rolls, salmon &scallion rolls, spicy tuna rolls, etc. for $3-4 each. My husband and I also tried their specialty rolls and recommend the baby lobster roll. Zono's Sushi is delicious we have eaten in the restaurant and ordered delivery; both were great. They have great house saki and good deals on beverages too. We ordered what we thought we wanted and then the family sitting near us made suggestions and we took them. The service was great. The sushi chefs, very fun. Miso soup--often can be bland, but they did it right. Complimentary Ono salad was wonderful. White Tuna sashimi, excellent. Dragon roll giant, beautiful and delicious. Spicy tuna, yum. All good. Before today, I would have given Zono 4 stars, maybe even 5. I work nearby and this has consistently been one of my favorite lunch spots. They've redone their menu and prices went up a bit, but that's not the reason for the lower rating. I was amazed they were surviving with their prices so low before, anyway. I have to wonder if they're under new management, because something's off. The service, which frankly, was always on the slow side, was downright bad today. Little things like only bringing 3 dishes for soy sauce, when there were clearly 4 of us there. Or forgetting to bring wasabi and ginger. Or not bringing an empty plate for us to dump our edamame shells into. And to top it all off, they wouldn't honor the groupon we had for their Bento Lunch Boxes. And unfortunately, it wasn't until after I got back to the office that I could get online to see that the groupon site states specifically that the groupon could be applied to their Bento Lunch Boxes. I've sent them a message on their facebook page pointing out their error, and I hope they'll respond with an apology and a promise to honor the groupon if/when I return. I'll amend this review based on their response. And I do hope it's positive, because I'd hate to lose a yummy lunch spot. Dec 22 - Within 24 hours, I got a response to my facebook message to them. They explained how the mix up happened, but accepted that fact that the error was theirs. They apologized and promised to honor the Groupons for their Lunch Bento Boxes. Came to this particular Zono Sushi for lunch after purchasing a Groupon offer online. I've been to the Burbank and Pasadena Zonos and they are okay for their value but I'd give them a 3 star in my opinion. I'm more impressed with this Glendale Zono because of their ambiance and taste of their food even though it is a few bucks more than the Burbank/Pasadena locations. First, this Glendale Zono is hard to find if you don't come to Glendale alot; which explains why my friends and I never knew there is a Zono Sushi in Glendale. The place is located off of the main street. We went at lunch during the week so it wasn't too crowded and no waiting. The ambiance and the way they decorated the place seems a bit classier than the Pasadena and Burbank locations. Their menu also have more choices and even the lunch combo selections offered more items to choose from such as steak strips and actual sushi instead of just sashimi. The bento box here is slightly different too being two rectangular boxes with 3 compartments each whereas other places have a big square box with 6 compartments. The sushi was fresh and my tempura, gyoza, and the seasme chickens tasted great. Overall I'm very satisfied with my experience here and rank this the best of the Zonos I've been to and am willing to go back. read more

Oh, Zono Sushi. You are my favorite. This place has incredible food and happy hour prices, and a very accommodating staff. No joke, I come here from Hollywood once a week if I can because it is that awesome. They have a nicely designed patio with heaters for cold days and a retractable awning for sunny ones. Free WiFi, and 90 minutes of free parking in the adjacent garage. I think I've brought every one of my friends to eat here by now... including out-of-towners. This place was pretty mediocre at best. Went in during lunch with coworkers and really disappointed. Food came out, but we were missing utensils, napkins, soy sauce, etc. The sushi did not seem fresh at all. We had the bento box, sushi combo, a few rolls, and sashimi donburi. The donburi was 3/4 iceberg lettuce, the spice tuna was brown and looked like dog food and the rolls were messy. All in all, won't be coming back here. read more

Honestly there is seriously no sushi that can compare to the one you get here. I eat sushi everrrry week maybe even more then once. So I came down to go to go for the past two semesters and so I went on a search for what was going to be my sushi spot in la and I tried so many places no joke like ten sushi bars in Glendale before I came to this one. And this place set the bar for me. The ones in my home town are now insanely disappointing and I just the stay away from the raw foods but now I can't handle all the basic rolls with a pound of spicy mayo to make it tolerable. The thing that got me into sushi was the dynamite appetizer so I try it every where I go so I hands down know that theirs is the best . So my meal always always starts with dynamite and muscles (the fire cracker is fantastic option too) and the shishito peppers have been added to that recently. The hands down best roll I've ever had in my life is the albacore cilantro roll! I legitimately feel like I'm addicted to it and if I don't have it ever couple weeks I don't feel like life is worth living. And the shat live roll is my second favorite. I usually get these but I'm trying different rolls again so I'll let you guys know o recently tried a tuna roll it's the first one on their menu under fresh rolls can't remember the name but it's super good for tuna read more

Under new owner. This is my favorite place to have sushi. They serve the BEST Langostino roll!!! Great service and also they have a great menu. The new owner Chris is very friendly and he is always there taking care of his customers. If you are willing to try something different you should order the Langostino roll..
