Ordered a chicken kabob entree, Greek salad and hummus. Chicken kabob entree was not good. There were no vegetables in sight and the chicken was very chewy. I couldn't even eat the chicken, that's how bad it was. Tzatziki sauce was awful, I wouldn't even call it tzatziki. Tons of garlic and no resemblance of a tzatziki sauce at all. The Greek salad had skimpy iceberg lettuce, never have seen a Greek salad served this way before. Lastly the hummus was chunky and not good. It lacked flavor and the consistency was so off. Also, they gave 1 piece of pita bread. Overall the entire experience was extremely sub par, food was bad and they are very expensive. All of the disappointing items I mentioned above cost me over $40. I will not be back. read more

My sisters friend brought some take out over for dinner we had the octopus, a horiatiki salad and some dips with pita everything was outstanding ! The feta is very good quality and the salad was cut up perfectly. You can tell cheap feta from good feta especially as a Greek. Horiatiki is a Greek salad no lettuce . Another highly overpriced Greek restaurant. I am from Chicago where there is a huge Greek presence in restaurant food. A large gyro with fries is never more than $7. This place fills the gyro with lettuce and skimps on the meat and is outrageously expensive. Unfortunately, like most places in Jersey, the fries are frozen, not hand cut, and under cooked. The chicken gyro we got was good. The grape leaves I didn't get to try but wife said they were good. Those two things cost 21 dollars. It was NINE dollars for FIVE grape leaves. There is some rice in the grape leaves. Maybe some meat? I don't think it's fillet mignon or baby seal meat or anything. I feel horrible writing this review after reading the cements below, but I had to share my experience. I work in the area and was craving a falafel sandwich for lunch, so I yelped where I can find one and this place came up... I walked in to the kitchen in the back, and no one acknowledged me so I stopped a waitress how do I order takeout. She said someone would be with me shortly then said she would just put my order in since they looked busy. Very pleasant young girl.... She said it should be ready in 5 to 8 minutes. During my wait by the cooking station there was a middle aged woman who was in charge... Her hair was maybe a sandy blonde, honey color (not in a net)... This woman had to be the nastiest woman I have encountered in a long time. Screaming at the employees, speaking very nasty to them in regards to their productivity. After 15 minutes or waiting I finally asked the woman in charge what the status of my order was.... She went to ask the workers then came back and said it would be a few more minutes. I knew something was up because all I asked for was a falafel sandwich which doesn't require much cooking. So I asked was the order even started. She said no, but just hold tight. Not once did she seem sincere or sorry for having me wait that entire time. I simply asked to cancel my order since I would have to wait another 10 minutes for my order to be complete. Prasini salad. Add gyro meat. Ask for extra dressing. Thank me later. This is a weekly craving that will not go away. I've not grown tired of it and I don't think I ever will. The quality of the olive oil, the freshness of the dill, the crunchy scallion. Its the best salad in Wayne! I don't even need the hot pita on the side although I imagine that would really be the icing on the cake..I just choose to bring it home to my grateful 7 year old son. Service is always friendly. Tables are always clean. Food comes out promptly whether it's eat in or take out. What more could you want? Maybe some low key Greek music instead of CNN. Or maybe that's just how the townies like it..as long as I get my prasini with extra olive oil, I'm okay, thank you very much. My former "not really into Greek food" husband who is now obsessed with Zorba husband would like to say that the lamb kabob pita sandwich is delish. Drive to the restaurant, big parking lot as its part of a strip mall. In and out of the restaurant in 5 mins. Drive back to my office and had a great meal. Went here today for lunch with two of my colleagues because we were pressed for time and trying to save a little money. The restaurant was already starting to get crowded, but we were seated at a table very quickly. We decided to split three appetizers to start - a cheese pie, Greek fries and fried eggplant. I confess that I did not eat the eggplant because I'm not a big fan, but it looked well cooked and my colleagues finished the entire plate. The cheese pie was good - the crust was light and flaky, but it could have used a little more cheese. I could barely taste it. The Greek fries were just OK. These reminded me of fries you get in the frozen section of your supermarket, tossed with a little lemon and parsley. I much prefer the steak fries around the corner at OPA - more lemon, more flavor. Had a gyro with sauce on the side and it was good, but not fantastic. The meat was well cooked and seasoned, but my meal was overpowered by all the onions in the pita. I had to pick some out, along with the not-so-fresh tomato. The pita was also burnt on the outside. I did however, eat the entire thing - so it's not completely awful. Price for my entire meal with a soda was $12.73. Very cheap for all the food you get and the service is pretty fast. Maybe a little too fast. They tend to bring your dishes out separately, so you're not all eating your meal at the same time. Appetizers came out in three rounds, and we received our gyros after my friend's salad. I noticed at the table next to us, one woman had received her gyro and then sat for ten minutes until the people she was with said something to the server about not having their meals yet. She sent her gyro back and demanded that they all come out at the same time. I can't say I disagree with her. I prefer all meals coming out at the same time myself. Would I come here again? Sure, if I was looking for a quick, cheap meal. If you want better quality Greek food - try OPA around the corner. Consistent and delicious, Zorba has great authentic Greek food. I would highly recommend their gyros and the lamb burger, but my family never leaves without ordering Melitzanosalata, an eggplant spread. If you like hummus, this would be right up your alley. I used to love Zorba as it's the closest Greek place that I can order from but their have gone up over time and at a minimum I have to drop $40 for dinner for two for take out. Great, casual place to have a Greek salad or even chicken gyro. Wait staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. It's packed on the weekends so get there early. It's also byob if you're interested in accompanying your meal with a glass of wine. although the food is delicious and consistent, I wish the prices wouldn't go up. I order from Zorba often this Saturday my husband and I were both recovering from the flu and was really craving a good Greek meal. I called Zorba and placed a delivery order unfortunately they only deliver to Wayne I'm basically in Wayne even closer! The owner was kind enough to accommodate me and deliver. Thank you because there was nothing else I wanted to eat. Delivery was prompt!!! Food was fresh and hot!!! Driver was polite and said you are really close!!! I come here on occasion, and its really a great quick and casual place to come to eat. The food is always good, and it always comes out quick and tastes great. The only problem that I would say with this place is that its just so expensive, way too expensive. Every time I come everyone is very friendly, and the service is pretty good. They do need to clean their tables off quicker though, but it seems sometimes they only have one server to do everything so they can only do so much. Its a small place, which can get crowded at times but for the food its worth it. I do wish they would lower their prices because about $12 for a small Greek salad is really too expensive, I can get a Greek salad down the street at the diner for the same price and its bigger, and can feed literally a small army. My first experience of Greek cuisine. Both of us loved the appetizer. It's called Melitzanosalata. Roasted Eggplant dip with Garlic and olive oil. The pita bread, with the appetizer was delicious. After reading all the reviews we tried the Falafel. I did not like it at all. The chickpeas in the wrap were raw and I hate raw stuff! Especially chickpeas! It was terrible! I'm not sure if that is how the dish is supposed to be or if they did not roast it well. Whatever it was, I did not like it. I set the chickpeas roast aside and had the rest. The rest is nothing but pita wrap with lettuce, tomato and onion with dressing. It tasted American. I wanted to taste some greek food and hence was a little disappointed. Guess the chickpeas was just roasted on the outside and the insides were raw. I noticed the chickpeas mixture is more like the Indian appetizer called "Masala Vada" where chickpeas is ground to a fine paste and is deep fried. (Indian Cuisine) The service was good. Was looking for some Greek food in the area and ended up at Zorba's since Opa up the street was closed. Ordered the grape leaves stuffed with rice and a mix platter of hummus, potato paste, and eggplant paste to share for the table as well a main course per person. The mix cold platter was decently size and the pita was good. Waitress even gave us cucumbers because there was someone with a glutton allergy. I had the gyro as my main course. The meat was tender, but there was a bit too much sauce. Overall, worth going to since the food is above average and the staff is pretty awesome, but it is a bit expensive. Prefer this place over Opa since even though it is slightly more expensive, the gyro meat is tender and cook time is short. read more
