I wish there was one of these back in my suburbs. If you are a soup lover, then you will like being able to sample the soups like you do when you walk into an ice cream shop. This place kind of reminds me of the Soup Box that is downtown in Chicago. I ordered a Tom Kha Thai kind of soup and it came with a piece of bread. It wasn't bad and I throughly enjoyed my meal. They offer different kinds and while not every soup maybe to your liking (I sampled some that was too salty, bland or weird), at least they will change their soup menu enough so that you won't get bored. ;D Overall, Zoup makes a good stopping place for a hearty lunch. read more

I was in Holland for a few days, and needed a quick, healthy lunch before preparing for my friend's wedding, and Zoup! seemed like the perfect option. It did not disappoint, and the employees were so helpful at explaining things, and letting us know what our options were. I got a "try two" meal, with a small lobster bisque and chicken Caesar salad. I did not upgrade my soup to a larger size, but my Dad did with his broccoli cheese soup. It was a good value, too, which is always appreciated. The bread served is warm and **soft**, unlike the bread served at Panera. I wish we had one of these near me- the quality, number of options, and overall experience is hard to beat! read more

Since we were newbies, an employee offered to give us the low down. Zoup! has a large variety of soups in rotation and some are always served. Sample cups were also provided, which was great for a picky eater like me. I'm always hesitant to try something new if I'm not sure what's in it. Walking in, I thought I just wanted to stick to the Macaroni and cheese dish (because it's kind of hard to screw up mac and cheese), but after sampling I was torn. Lucky for me, Zoup has a money saving deal on those who want two soups. I ordered the macaroni and cheese and the Loaded Baked Potato. They came in side sizes, and served with your choice of bread. The whole meal cost me about $8. Not a bad deal! I was stuffed afterwards. The loaded potato was so good! The mac and cheese was okay in my opinion. I added some pepper to spice it up some, but it would have been better with some breadcrumbs sprinkled on top! The employees were helpful at this location and made the ordering process swift and easy. The dining room was clean, tidy, and set up well. Since I'm not from the area, I didn't sign up for the loyalty card, but I read more about it from the info card on the tables, and it sounded great. You get one punch with every meal purchase and a free meal after so many punches. PLUS, when you spend more than $20 in one transaction or come in after 3 pm, you get an extra punch! My roommate and I were in Holland for a weekend of camping and had no idea where to eat. We found Zoup! on here and decided to give it a try. It was one of the best decisions we have ever made! This place reminds me of a Panera but more down to earth and wholesome. We mentioned to an employee that we had never been here before and he took the time to tell us a bit about their story and helped us with the process. They have hundreds of different soups but have a variety of 12 a day with a few that stay all year. They also have sample cups for the soup so you can try them before you order which was a great plus! The menu and ordering process is pretty simple; they have soup, salad, and sandwiches. They have a variety of salad and sandwich choices so there are tons of ways to mix & match. They also have combo deals where you can get two soups together or two separate choices and you save more money that way. I did the two soup deal and ordered their macaroni and cheese along with their most popular soup, chicken pot pie. The serving size was quite generous and came with a side of bread. They were both delicious and filling! The seating area is quite spacious and cozy. They also have a public restroom. Overall this was a great find! The negative review is based solely on the value. A lunch consisting of half of a sandwich, a cup of soup, and a drink shouldn't cost $15. The soups I've had here are excellent but they really aren't special enough to warrant the price. Either I wasn't paying attention to the bill when I ate here previously or the prices have increased. Food was good - thank goodness! Unfortunately both myself and my cousin were overcharged. Neither of us was offered a receipt because they were so busy in store and just had us insert our cards as they walked away. There are two high chairs and one booster seat in the restaurant. I wish there was a Souplantation/Sweet Tomatoe nearby but thought I'd try Zoup out. Since moving to Holland I've been here a good 6 times. I've never had take out, but the dine-in experience is so pleasant. Customer service is FANTASTIC and I dig the sample section before you make your order. The establishment is clean and the food quality is on point. I prefer the heated meals over the cold wraps, but I'd say try a number of different things from this place before you make a judgement call. The food here is very good but expensive. They steer you to the "take two" but they are priced separately. This was not communicated either on menu board or verbally. Spent $11.20 for half sandwich and small cup of soup. I've eaten at other places that have a similar pick two (McAlisters and Panera) where the price is for both. I'll start by saying that the food is delicious. That being said, it seems the trend is to offer the smallest food quantity possible for the highest possible dollar. I ordered the grilled cheese dunkers and tomato soup. I also got a soft drink. The bill came to $13 and I added one dollar for a tip. It was a tiny cup of soup and four very small cheese sandwich strips. It wasn't more than a half of a sandwich combined. Each strip was a little less than three bites. Once again I'll add that it tasted delicious. But for $13 plus tip, it should have been double the size. This is definitely the trend in most quality food restaurants. I could have easily made this same meal at home, or something very comparable, for a couple dollars. I don't shame anybody for making money, and I didn't have to go there to eat, I chose to. The soups are some of the best I've had. Love being able to have a sample to help me decide. Salads are always very fresh even if you stop in about 5 minutes before they close.(which I've done). Ran in tonight to get dinner, always have an amazing experience. Three young kids working tonight, two girls and a young guy. Young guy made my husbands buffalo chix sandwich and when pulling it out of the oven half the meat fell off the sandwhich and on the counter and in the oven. The guy tried to pick up the meat and put it back on the sandwhich until the girl said something to him to throw it away. My husband asked the guy when he handed us or order if he was going to remake the sandwhich since he dropped half the meat and the guy tried to tell us it's all on there. My husband said he watched him drop it and through half of it away. Rather than make a scene we chose to leave as the kid wasn't going to remake it. Came home to a sandwhich of half bread and other half meat and bread. Not impressed, would have taken him two minutes to put together another sandwhich and own up to his mistake. read more
