Worst Panera experience of my life and worst location I've ever been to. Environment: The inside was absolutely disgusting, dishes piled up and SO many tables covered in crumbs and food not wiped down(struggled to even find a clean table to sit at) trash on the floor, the glass door to get inside was so covered in handprints you probably could've gotten some type of disease touching that. Customer service: I asked for knife to cut my brownie and the woman who I asked for it from said "I guess" and made a huff under her breath. My significant other was standing in front of the kitchen counter waiting for his food as normal customers would....and she called his name out in a very snotty way and said under her breath "I'm tired of people standing here staring at me like this" something similar to that. I asked for a water cup from a different woman and she said in annoyed attitude "down there". I wish people actually understood how awful of an attitude they had and how awful of an experience this was. We will NEVER come back. The one in Standale is always so clean and quiet and we've never had issues. And can always find a clean nice table to sit at. read more

I visited this location for the first time to pickup an order for work. I placed the order online for pickup at 7:15 am. The first impression was how CLEAN this location was. Then my eyes were drawn immediately to the pastry display cases. They had everything intentionally displayed - the effort was visible! Everything was fresh. The scones I'm told were delicious. "Someone" was very particular about having them for this meeting. I was greeted so nicely and shown to my order. The kid's menu of turkey sandwich with yogurt was just bland. The fruit yogurt was good. It was one of those that you have to squeeze the yogurt out, not in a small cup. The turkey sandwich was not impressive for a kid. A bunch of yellow American cheese was put on top of one another along with the turkey slices. Among the two sandwiches that my wife and I ordered, the bread was not that good. It was super close to our hotel at the time and I have had good experiences in the past with Panera Bread but this is one location that I cannot recommend, especially if you have kids. I placed a delivery order and part of my order was missing. After calling, they refused to put me on with the manager and said they can only refund "the part of the order that's missing". I asked them to have the part of the order delivered to me. They said it was not possible and would not work through any other options or alternatives. I totally understand that restaurants are short staffed right now and that I should expect wait times, but I get really annoyed when I get an email that my "order is ready" and then show up and have to wait 20-30 minutes for it to "really" be ready. Just don't tell me it's ready! I'll stay in my office and get some more work done while I wait! But standing around a crowded space with many other irritated customers is not how I want to spend my entire lunch break. I've also completely given up on having them carry my order to my car because it just takes SO long and my orders seem more prone to mistakes that way. I legit have just given up on waiting in my car and walked in to find my order, which seems to negate the purpose of the amenity. I have no idea about the food because we didn't even get that far! I went up to use the kiosk for self order. Put in the order for two people, which by the way was over $40.00 (for one soup bowl, a tuna sandwich, one pick 2 and two drinks). I go to pay and the kiosk won't process my credit card. I tried all sorts of way. I ask the worker that was right on the other side of the machine if they could help because it wasn't working. I was told," I am not really sure how I can help" and "that machine is temperamental". First of all, why have a machine out if it is "temperamental". Second of all, if you can't work the machine and you work there, how am I suppose to figure it out? I looked around, several worker, even made eye contact with some, but not one person came to help. I ordered a little over a day ahead of time for food to be ready this past Saturday. We were all set to go for 11:30 AM delivery at the hotel where our wedding party was getting ready. 11:50 rolled around while I am putting out other fires for the wedding. I get a text from some employee at Panera saying they forgot to make the order and they were doing so now. The order was about an hour late and left the wedding party 5 minutes to stuff their faces, while in their dresses and suits prior to taking pictures. I absolutely love Panera and have never had an issue with it. But today I placed an order and realized I accidentally made it for pick up instead of delivery (totally my fault of course). So I called and they canceled it and then I went to order for delivery. I never got any confirmation for it but it was pulled out of my bank account so I decided to give him another call. He told me he could see it being out for delivery so I waited. 30 minutes later still nothing so I called again. He said it was delivered and I can tell he was getting a little frustrated with me because I said I didn't have it. I don't think he believed me and thought I was trying to get free food. He basically told me that he doesn't know what to tell me that he will try to get it to me. I've only stopped in here to pick up bakery orders placed online. The online order placing process is painless and easy. On the occasions when I've interacted with employees they are always nothing but cheerful and very eager to assist me even when I know that my questions probably sound a bit dumb to them but they are way too professional to show that they feel that way. Order some loaves of their bread to take home with you since it's excellent. I haven't found a loaf of bread here yet that I don't like. I appreciate the fact that I can specify whether I want my bread unsliced, sliced thin or better yet sliced thick. When ordering online to specify the thickness of bread click below the picture of the bread you're ordering where it says "Customize" and then you can specify the slicing thickness. The cinnamon raisin swirl bread is so delicious it's more like a dessert. While you're there join their loyalty club for rewards and freebies. This months freebie is a free bagel every day of the month and they have some incredible tasting ones too. I just wish I lived closer so I could take advantage of this freebie more often! First off, there was never much in Holland as far as good fast food...but over the past few years several chains have crept up the Lake Michigan shore and ended up in Holland. I hadn't been to a Panera in quite some time, as I was burned out after living in St. Louis for six years. This location, however, was great! The food is the same as always, but still, fresh, with some healthy options, so I appreciate that. One HUGE bonus...hence the 4 stars as opposed to the three this chain probably deserves, is the fact that if you eat in, now they will DELIVER your food to your table. No more traffic jam with other people looking inside your sandwich to see if the plate just put up is theirs...no worrying about someone stealing your table while you pick up your lunch...and, when you're done, they clean your place off so you don't have to bus your own dishes. MUCH better than my previous Panera experiences, where you had to wait for your food, sit at a dirty table, and bus your own dishes. read more

However, the breads are a whole nother story. I like to buy my sandwich bread here because the quality is great. They cut loaf into slices for you if needed & bread is always up to standard as it should be. The prices for kid stuff is kinda mediocre 4 bucks for a pb&j with yogurt. Don't go to this Panera location if you expect decent customer service or product availability. At 8:30am on a Saturday, they were completely out of egg soufflés of any kind. When asked about more coming up, the cashier, and then the manager said that they might be able to get one ready in 20 minutes if I wanted to wait. Then, I went to get my coffee and it was labeled as 7:30 - over an hour old. Plus, it wasn't all that warm. I am used to far better service from Panera and will not be back to this location. read more
