My mom and I dined at Zov's for the first time and we were blown away. First of all, Alex was behind the bar making wonderful cocktails all night. The Triple B was excellent. Perfectly tart, not too sweet and not overpowered by the elderflower. The White Peach Sangria was bright, refreshing, and perfect for a sunny afternoon or a warm summer night. Mitchell was our server and every recommendation he has was spot on. We started with the eggplant fries and the Brussels sprouts with bacon. The eggplant was crispy and unlike any other eggplant dish I've had in the best way possible. It's my new favorite way to have eggplant. And the Brussels with bacon were some of the best Brussels sprouts I've ever had. I would go back just to have those. For entrees I had the grilled skirt steak with chimichurri and my mom had the Parmesan pistacho crusted seabass. The steak was grilled perfectly medium rare with super crispy garlic fingerling potatoes and the seabass was cooked beautifully with a quinoa patty underneath. The quinoa might have been my favorite part of all it was absolutely outstanding. Finally we finished up with the panna cotta for dessert, which was light with the perfect amount of sweetness. It came with fresh berries and mint to brighten it all up. I might have to steal the recipe. Would highly recommend and will be coming back. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Morgan and Jess and immediately felt welcomed. We really like the rattan decor. Our server, Tanya, made the experience memorable. She gave amazing recommendations and helped us pick the perfect dishes to share family-style so we could try a little of everything. We started with the brioche French toast and dirty fries as appetizers, and the dirty fries were an absolute 10/10!! The mushroom gravy was SO good and honestly one of the highlights of the meal. I've been waiting forever for this restaurant to open up and they finally have and it's so pretty inside! The bartender is super cute and his name is TJ. I'm ordering shrimp and chicken kebabs to go. Today was there first Friday open. Arrived at dinner time and was quickly seated. Ambiance was very nice. Two large tv"s behind the bar to catch a game if that's your thing. Our waiter was Dustin who was great. He took a few minutes to go over the food and drink menu and answer any questions we had. We ordered Hummus and a trio plate with shrimp, chicken and steak. The hostess gave us a very warm welcome and sat us at a comfortable table near the window. I took a quick look around and I really found the restaurant to be beautifully designed with soothing neutral colors. Our waiter was super helpful in giving us tips on navigating the menu. We ordered the Mezze Platter (with hummus, lebni, tabouli, babaganoush, muhammara, roasted red pepper, feta dip, Armenian string cheese, tomato-cucumber salad, marinated olives with warm pita bread); the lula kebab (with seasoned ground beef, onions, parsley, spices, rice pilaf, tomato cucumber salad and yogurt mint sauce); and, Zov's Famous Golden Lentil Soup. The Mezze was sensational --- the dips were bursting with flavors, the salads sparkly fresh; the olives and string cheese delicious. The Mezze Platter size, too, was substantial for the price. Not only was it great --- it was great value. The Lula kebab was excellent with the kind of fresh meat you don't usually find anymore. (Although I would have liked it if the portion was larger.) The Mezze Platter was incredibly good and large enough for three people. A sampling of humus, lebni, tabouli, babaganoush, muhammara, olives, cheese, tomato-cucumber salad and much more! The long wait is finally over!!! It was worth the wait for sure!!! The restaurant itself is beautiful just a little bit loud but that is because it just opened and a lot of people are all so excited! The bar is amazing! The tables and booth are amazing very comfy! The service was amazing! They always come and check on us even though there was a lot of people! And of course the food, we had our usual! The dirty fries which always has been our favorite, the golden lentil soup was amazing no one can beat that soup! Avocado toast my kids loved it! And the Breakfast burrito instead of the sour creme I have ask the labneh they also have a great selection of cocktails and I get to try their Peach Sangria which was refreshing! I am so happy that they finally open after 10years of battling with the city I am also glad that they didn't hike up too much on their prices! We dined in during opening week and though they were dealing with so many people, we were treated with the best service from the entire staff and checked in on multiple times during our meal. I got the short rib pappardelle and it was incredible - the pasta was so fresh and the short rib was tender and soft. My fiancé loved his lamb burger and fries. I've dined at Zov's 2X and the food was amazing. The beet salad was over the top. And their flatbreads are very tasty. The service was perfect. All staff was very attentive and made sure we were happy with our food. The one reason why I'll NOT return to Zov's, is the ambiance. The noise is beyond brutal. We even tried sitting in the "patio" area only to find that again, we couldn't take the noise and could not hear each other speak, at all. Huge disappointment and the noise will keep me from coming back. I understand about all the little tweaks it takes to get it right. But I don't see/hear how to soften the noise. I was thrilled we were getting a Zov's in San Clemente. After 20 years of dining at the Tustin location. Told all my neighbors how wonderful the food was and planned a dinner for 10 friends from SC. Sorry to say my Seabass was too salty! And after several calls to make reservations and being told not possible on a Friday night I show up early to reserve 2 tables next to each other an hour before everyone shows up only to be told sorry we can't tonight. After 6 of us are seated there is a booth next to us and our waiter tries to get our other 4 seated there only to be told the manager says it's reserved for 4 who requested a booth! While our other 4 had to sit across from them! No apologies no comped anything and at no time did anyone during my calls mention we could make reservations for 2 tables in fact they said repeatedly no reservations on weekends! Not sure we will be back! Such a shame because we dine out weekly and I would have loved to add Zov's to our list. On top of all this it's very loud and the top Deck with a view is not open! read more

Very noisy, hard to hear. Tables along one side are close together, you can hear everyones convesations. Service was good, waiter was polite and knowledgeable. Little disappointed with the Moroccan Salmon Salad. It had too much dressing and the salmon was undercooked. Otherwise, food was good, not great. Cockage is on the high side at $35.
