Hadn't had Zpizza in Laguna Niguel in a few years due to so many more options but those can be a long wait. I ordered a ZBQ with no peppers and a Pear & Gorgonzola salad to go which I enjoyed over 5+ years ago. I received a pizza with spicy lime chicken, bbq sauce, tomato, some onions, no cilantro, uncooked cheese and some jalapeños pieces. BEST PIZZA we've found so far in our new area. We've eaten at several of their locations and have found the taste and quality consistent throughout. All of their staff seems to be very friendly and knowledgeable. One of my most favorite things about it is that the food is more natural, and that the crust is not so "bready." This way, you get more of the pizza and toppings flavors. It's much easier on the digestion, too. I also like that you can get just a slice or two if you like and are not in the mood for a full blown pizza. It sure beats overly processed Domino's. Paying slightly more is well worth it, for good health and for flavor. This is our pizza place from now on. read more

I moved here a few weeks ago and have loved the food and service. Today, June 13, I went in and ordered the lunch special. There were employees that I had never seen, and bad customer service. The sandwiches were burnt, literally one and half pieces of meet and an overload of arugula. If this was my first time ordering takeout, it would be my last. We have ordered from the Z Pizza a few times now as it is a local local option for us. Last night, I ordered a couple of pizzas for pick up. One was the spinach/bacon/mushroom and one was plain cheese. They both were awesome! The gal who took my order was incredibly nice and attentive and she was very the same way when I picked our order up. Excellent customer service! The inside of their restaurant looked a bit "upside down" for some reason but I figured some things were a bit displaced due to the pandemic. I have to applaud Z-Pizza for their originality. At some point I felt that I have just tried everything there is out there regarding pizza and nothing was surprising any more. But Z-Pizza is a breath of fresh air. My wife ordered their veggie pizza that she loved. It even has zucchini that works amazing. The sauce light and fresh. I got their Thai pizza with peanut sauce chicken and fresh bean sprouts on top. I love pizza and I am Vegan so sometimes when going to a non vegan restaurant it's a little more work to place an order making sure there are no animals products in the food ! That said 5 of us vegans went to Z Pizza and ordered the Large Berkeley Vegan Pizza and a Salad. I have to say the pizza was one of the most delicious pizzas I've ever had ! Amazing ! But the one thing that stood out for us was the wonderful service we got from Briyit who took our order and couldn't have been more pleasant and patient ! Great service ! She is what I would call a perfect employee. Attentive to the customers needs and preferences and always smiling and making you feel special as a customer ! Stopped in for a lunch special and purchased 2 for the price of one, great deal. The pizza was OK. Dough-3 star PEPPERONI -3 stars / SAUCE -2 stars and the cheese by far was the worst part. CHEESE-1 star the cheese isn't the same gooey stringy gooey cheese I imagine on a pizza. This was my first* time eating at a ZPizza (*I may have had a slice at a location near me when they first opened years ago, but I was in a rush and don't recall the experience). This time around, however, I had a wonderful experience at the Laguna Niguel location. First, let's talk about the menu and topping choices...so may choices! 10+ sauces, 10+ cheeses (vegan option), 10+ meats (vegan option), and 20+ vegetables. Being the fairly indecisive person I am, I must have looked through the menu 15+ minutes before I even had an inkling of an idea. I also want to make a note about the service. I may have had good timing, but at least two/three managers (maybe an owner) were there when I dined. They were absolutely wonderful. They asked if I had any questions and gave me suggestions as to what to eat based on a couple of questions they asked me. Fast forward. After ordering, I didn't wait more than 8-10 minutes before items started coming up. We tried three different pizzas (one we opted for cauliflower crust with vegan cheese and toppings), dry wings with sauces on the side, two different pastas (Chicken Penne Pesto/Penne with Meatballs), and one sandwich (Hot Pollo Latino). I really liked that they bake their wings; no deep fryer grease here and they were just as crispy. The pesto was one of my favorite items tried and loved that it had a good amount of whole pine nuts in it. All the pizzas were good in their own way, but were all crispy and cooked well. I'm not vegan, but open to to try just about anything. That being said, the vegan meat I had no idea, the BBQ sauce choice was a little sweet for my liking, and you could tell the cheese was different, BUT not enough to where I wouldn't eat it. This is purely my personal preference in regards to the vegan cheese and BBQ sauce and I'm sure vegans wouldn't bat a lash at it. Now, the last item, the sandwich. I did enjoy it, but for some reason I thought it was going to be spicy, so I was a little disappointed...but when I went back and read the ingredients, there was no spicy ingredients listed. When I visit family in Laguna Niguel, I plan on having nothing to eat. I usually pack a cooler with snacks and rations to get me through the day until I can get back to vegan-friendly neighborhoods. But just this past weekend I noticed a Z Pizza in the 'hood. Score! A couple clicks on their website and BAM! Pizza! Ordering online is easy peasy. Went with the Berkeley Vegan on whole wheat crust. It comes with marinara, veggie burger crumbles, red onions, bell peppers, vegan cheese...I substituted the tomates for artichokes and the white button mushrooms for crimini mushrooms. No extra charges for whole wheat crust or substitutions on toppings. Told them to have it ready "ASAP" although my confirmation did not tell me what time it would be ready. Arrived at Z Pizza about 15 minutes after I placed the order: ME: Hi, I'm here to pick up a pizza. CASHIER GUY: Are you Harmonie? ME: Yes I am :) ...I'm probably really early, huh? **cashier guy looks back at a pizza already in a box getting the final touches of oregano and fresh basil** CASHIER GUY: That's your pizza right there so you're right on time! How's your day going so far? **I was caught a little off guard but I LOVE IT when the staff asks how my day is going** ME: I'm a little out of it because I've been watching my twin baby nephews all day and they're a handful! **cashier guy hands me the pizza** CASHIER GUY: Well hopefully this makes your day better :) Aww, he's so sweet! Not your typical attitude-y teenager/college student working a fast food gig. Too bad his name was not on my receipt...I would be giving him his Yelp shoutout right here! The pizza was pretty tasty! I was happy with my topping substitutions although I think next time I'll get it without the veggie burger crumbles. For a thin crust pizza, it was super filling! I think their pizza could really kick ass (and earn that 5th star from me) if they didn't cook the veggies to the point of shriveling, sadness and limp-nation. If they had fresh veggies for their toppings, like farmers market fresh, and didn't let the veggies shrivel and get all limpy, it would be ten times more amazing.
