Came here for Mother's Day and had such a lovely experience overall! The ambiance was warm and welcoming, perfect for a special celebration. There's plenty of parking available in nearby structures and lots, although do note it's about $20 to park. The service was fantastic, our server was attentive, kind, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Most of our food came out quickly and was bursting with flavor! Every dish was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. The only miss, unfortunately, was the risotto. It was a bit undercooked and lacked the depth of flavor we were hoping for, especially compared to how amazing everything else was. Desserts did take a little while (about 20 minutes), but they were worth the wait, sweet, satisfying, and a great ending to our meal. I went to Le Petit Paris with my coworkers on a Friday night. We did have a reservation for 5 people. For parking, we parked in a nearby lot for $15. As soon as I walk in the restaurant, I could tell it would be an elegant restaurant, since there was a staff opening the doors. In the interior, it was dimly lit and felt like a romantic atmosphere. There was also live music that added onto the vibe. We got a calamari for our appetizer. The positive was that it was large pieces. However, I didn't necessary like that the breading was falling apart. I prefer calamari to be more crunchy, but this one was on the smaller side. For the main dish, I ordered the scallops with black truffle risotto. I really enjoyed this and felt there were decent amount of scallops. We came to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary I really wanted French because I was craving some escargot and they did not disappoint!! We booked this restaurant for brunch for our wedding anniversary. We called in ahead of time a few days before the reservation to confirm a few details, booked our babysitter for our newborn son, and were all set and looking forward to this. It's now 7:30pm the night before the reservation was to take place (less than 24 hours' notice) and we get a call from the manager saying that they are canceling our reservation as brunch was booked for a private event. There was no offer of any kind of alternative accommodation, it's just "we're canceling your reservation, bye." I am not upset at a restaurant for booking out for a private event, I imagine this kind of thing happens all the time. What I am upset about is that they are canceling our wedding anniversary reservation for a private event with less than 24 hours' notice. We are now spending the night before our anniversary scrambling to make a new reservation for the following morning after getting cancelled on last minute, not to mention costs already set when it comes to childcare. There was no offer to do anything for the inconvenience, either. It's just "yeah we're canceling you, sorry, but happy anniversary." So, if you were planning, like us, to spend a special day for a romantic date with your spouse, I'd think twice before making a reservation here. There's no guarantee they won't just cancel last minute and leave you high and dry. read more

Last minute Friday night reservation win. I am updating my previous review as I decided to come back here with my family and we had a wonderful experience in both food quality, service and ambiance. The entire staff was very accommodating and friendly as we brought our toddler to a rather fancy French restaurant. We ordered the homemade truffle brie which was delicious, the fig and nut bread was a wonderful companion with the soft cheese and shaved truffles. We ordered the warm baguette and butter to accompany the escargot (which was much better this time; I still prefer mine to be on the more garlicky side.) The Egg à la Coque & Caviar is a pleasant delight and truly does bring me back to Paris. The cognac flambeed truffle fresh pasta was a truly delightful in flavor with a show that our toddler definitely enjoyed. "Wow" at the giant cheese wheel it is presented and made in. Beef Bourguignon is an array of flavors that literally melt in your mouth. Highly recommend this entree. The steak frites was a 7/10 for me however the pepper sauce the sirloin is covered in is quite delicious. Beautiful venue, once more, that is not a shock. This time, we noticed they offered valet service--much easier than circling the block--so we finally went for it. Our waiter, also French, was extremely courteous and attentive. We started with cocktails, which were expertly crafted--smooth, strong, and surprisingly easy to drink. I suspect a skilled mixologist is behind the bar. Now onto the food: Starters: Escargot - Outstanding. Tender, flavorful, and served without the shell, making it easy to enjoy. If you're new to escargot, this is the perfect place to try it. Oysters - Phenomenal. Incredibly fresh, with no fishy aftertaste--just clean, briny goodness. Calamari - Light, crispy, and not at all greasy. Another fresh and well-executed seafood dish. Mains: Wood-fired Pizza - Delicious with a perfectly thin crust, balanced sauce, and flavorful salami. A must-try for any pizza lover. Lobster Pasta - One of the evening's standouts. The pasta was coated in a rich, well-balanced sauce, and the lobster tail was a generous and luxurious addition. Highly recommended. Steak (Medium Rare) - Expertly cooked. It leaned closer to rare, but the cut was tender, juicy, and flavorful--exactly what a good steak should be. Props to the chef. The Showstopper: Truffle Pasta Wheel with Lemon Zest Chicken Breast - This dish absolutely stole the show. The truffle and cheese were perfectly blended, rich without being overwhelming, and packed with flavor. The chicken breast was shockingly juicy--so much so that I had to double-check it really was chicken breast. A brilliant pairing that left no tastebud untouched. Dessert: As a self-declared sweet tooth, I found the dessert delightful. I'm not sure what kind of vanilla ice cream they use, but it was the highlight of the sweets--smooth, creamy, and unforgettable. Final Thoughts: An excellent dining experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was intimate and relaxing, the service was top-notch, and the food exceeded expectations. How in the heck have I not given this place a glowing review!? Le Petit was everything! Came here for a pre-birthday celebration of yours truly and the entire experience was phenomenal. From the doorman to the host and ultimately your server was great. Just top notch. The noise level was just above average since there were multiple celebrations happening at once, but that's alright. All the revelry added to the good time. Seems to be the mood for a Saturday night here. Our server tho a bit busy was super friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. Offered great suggestions for wine and drinks. Our youngest is just under the age of 21 so if you're a non drinker, this place offers delicious mock tails to quench your thirst. For my meal I had the duck breast (see photo). It was a culinary masterpiece! Highly recommended. Don't recall if there are any vegetarian options. Completely lived up to the hype! Incredibly delicious dinner with my family. We enjoyed splitting many plates, I recommend 2 things person. A friend from NYC, who is constantly traveling the world and eating his way through it (including Paris and other cities in France regularly) took me to a late birthday dinner here, and I cannot thank him enough. The food was truly fantastic, and I have to say that was good because Los Angeles is not really known for its French food. Located in DTLA, it's great to plan to go on a weekday just as rush hour parking limits are ending. Right then you can find free parking on the street all around, plus the restaurant will be empty. Though, we are talking about an early dinner. While we were there, it did fill up nicely, though with gorgeous young influencers and older stately couples. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside. Staff is attentive and friendly. They make great cocktails and have plenty of good wines by the glass. Now onto the food. We started with the bread and butter, which was exquisite. I really don't know why restaurants need to charge $5-$8 for a small baguette for one and a small saucer of butter, but everyone seems to be doing that these days. A little complimentary bread just builds good will. Anyway, next were the appetizers - French Onion Soup and the 6 Piece Wild Burgundy Escargots. The French Onion soup had good rich flavor but felt a tad on the watery side. It was good, but I've had better. The escargots were far more successful with their rich, garlicky sauce. Next were the entrees - Steak Frites for me with peppercorn (au poivre) sauce and the duck leg confit. Both entrees were successful. You get a lot of frites with the steak... a LOT. My only slight complaint was the steak was a bit fatty. It could've been trimmed better. I felt the weight was a bit skewed with the fat left over on my plate when I was done cutting around it. The duck confit was very good and won raves from my friend. Some great champagne and a couple of fantastic espressos later, were were completely satiated. They called me the morning of to confirm if I would like to get any dessert for my birthday celebration. Since we were bringing our own cake, they informed us of a cake fee in advance. Located in DTLA, it's an elegant French restaurant with a romantic interior and patio. The staircase that leads to the upstairs dining area was beautiful. From the host, to waiter, and every staff, they were welcoming. I was able to choose where to sit. The host gave me a bigger space for my flowers and gift. The staff even offered to put my flowers in a vase. Very kind of them! To share, we got half a dozen of oysters and escargots. The oysters were fresh and paired well with horseradish. The escargot was tasty, but a bit small. For entrees, we got the lobster tail pasta and truffle burger with fries. The entrees were pricey for what you're getting. The taste was decent. We also got red and white wine. The waiter gave me a wine tasting before I decided what to order. The servers were extremely attentive. The restaurant has valet parking. I really loved this place! Tim was our server and he really went above and beyond for my husband and I. It was our wedding anniversary and he even took cool pics with a flaming candle and gave complimentary champagne. What I really liked about this place was the truffle cheese wheel pasta. It is kinda pricey but for me being a pasta lover it is well worth it once in a while for a special occasion. The truffle and pasta are both flavorful and it is cooked with alcohol on a big wheel of cheese. They mix it in front of you and Tim explained the process and provided a small flambé show of the pasta and cheese...very social media post worthy like. I would go again for another special event bc I really think the pasta is worth it. Also their drinks are pretty strong I especially liked the whiskey I forgot what it was called but it was good. What can I say about the food, service, and ambience of Le Petit Paris restaurant in downtown Los Angeles? Actually I can tell you very little which is not the fault of the restaurant. I was wandering on Spring Street one evening in downtown LA (and you might be wondering why I was downtown on Spring Street at night) waiting for an event to begin on Main Street, when I came across an interesting mural. The mural drew me to a beautiful foyer like the Sirens beckoning me inside. However, instead of crashing my boat upon the rocks I ventured through the looking glass doors into a little bit of Paris France, right here in the heart of downtown LA. Since I was going to have dinner I wandered through this extremely beautiful restaurant and had a seat at the bar ordering a cocktail. I had not been in Paris for some time and like the Mon Ami Gabi restaurant in Chicago I visited last year, Le Petit Paris hits all the right notes transporting me back to the wonderful time I enjoyed during my 3 previous journeys to Paris. Cocktail was a Petite Fleur (a gin & tonic with a sweat pea flower turning the drink purple) which was definitely enjoyed by gin lover. Just had the Mother's Day brunch with my wife. Everything was excellent! The service from the time we checked in, seated, served was excellent! Eileen attended to us perfectly! The menu selection for this occasion was phenomenal! For appetizers, we had the artichoke veloutte and crab galettes. For our main course, my wife had the beef bourguignon while I had the duck leg confit. Lastly, desert was German chocolate cake and raspberry creme brûlée. Like I said, everything was excellent! I ordered the cheese pasta and I was very disappointed by the rancid flavor. The performance portion of that entree was delightful but the dish was very oddly sour and led to me sending it back after everyone at my table agreed it was too tart to eat. Nearly $90 is way too much for that pasta. Now on to the desert which is why I even gave 2 stars. The "beignets" were the best thing I had there; however, they were not beignets more like fluffy doughnut holes but they were delicious . The drinks were solid but nothing spectacular. OMG--best experience ever! I took my fiancé to this restaurant for his birthday, and everything exceeded our expectations. We arrived at 7:45 PM for our 8:30 PM reservation. When I checked in at the front desk, the hostess took my name and said she would see if our table was ready. She returned shortly and, knowing we were there to celebrate a birthday, told us she didn't want to seat us near the front door where the available table was. Instead, she offered to seat us in the wine room so we could enjoy a more special and intimate experience. I was so impressed and grateful that she went out of her way to make the evening perfect. We were also helped by a very kind gentleman--possibly a supervisor--who guided us through the wine selection and made us feel incredibly welcome. The food was amazing, and we both absolutely loved it. Toward the end of the meal, they even brought out a birthday cake for my fiancé, making the night even more memorable. Le Petit Paris is a pretty dreamy restaurant. It's dark, dim and has a sultry layout. Truly perfect for a date night or celebration. Parking can be difficult but they have valet available for $17. Otherwise, I recommend reservations but they do take walk ins. All of the staff was incredibly welcoming, polite and attentive. Definitely 5 star service. The dinner menu is pretty solid but pricey. I have seen all the viral videos for the cognac flambred pasta so I had to order. $85 and you can order protein for an additional charge. The flambred pasta is definitely a presentation where they pull out a Parmesan wheel and fire up the middle to blend the pasta with the Parmesan. The smell once the wheel is torched is a decadent Parmesan smell and tasted immaculate. The topped truffle and added chicken was to die for. Otherwise, my hubby ordered the truffle cheeseburger($43). He said it was delicious but not worth $43. What really sealed the deal was the lava cake. The chocolate was rich, the cake was moist and the dark chocolate raspberry syrup was superb! The only ding is that the seating is pretty close so it takes away from that private date night feel. The tables are also extremely low along with the chairs so you have no back support so it makes the dining experience a bit uncomfortable. If you have the option I do recommend requesting a booth but they are pretty limited. I did notice there is upstairs dining available as well so maybe the seating options are better. Whoaaa this place is fancy! Maybe not too, too fancy, but it does the job. On a recent trip to LA, my friend and I were looking for a dinner spot to end my trip. It was a Sunday night, raining all day, and I didn't feel like going far. Le Petit Paris is about half a block from my hotel, had high reviews and good-looking dishes, so it was an easy decision. Upon entering, I was surprised at how fancy this restaurant was and how we were able to be seated on a Sunday night at prime time without reservations. The atmosphere is classy and romantic, divided up into different sections. We were seated in a booth/table combo near the back, complete with cushy pillows. We were both not feeling particularly hungry as we had been eating delicious LA food all day. We started with glasses of wine and then enjoyed the following: - Charcuterie board fig & nuts bread - Mussels & fries: white wine, garlic, curry cream - Grilled octopus: potato chips, shishito pepper, garlic aioli - Lava cake: Bourbon vanilla gelato, mixed berry coulis I could barely muster the appetite to eat more than I personally ordered so I did not try my friend's octopus or lava cake, but he assured me both were delicious. We shared the charcuterie board and I ate my mussels. Both were very, very good! The charcuterie board makes you feel super fancy and is a beautiful plate to share. The mussels were cooked perfectly and the fries were a nice addition. They give you a sizeable amount of mussels. For around $25 each, I did not think either dish was overpriced for the atmosphere. Honestly I had higher expectations from this establishment. The ambiance is romantic, dimly lit and intimate. Service was pretty attentive and our waitress was nice and accommodating. Aside from the food, the overall environment and staff at the restaurant was great! The dishes that we ordered just didn't particularly pique my fancy. The charcuterie was a little bit disappointing, although we had 4 types of meat to choose from, there weren't many toppings aside from plain raw walnuts, cornichons and some whole seed mustard. The meat was also a little dry, so it was a bit tough to chew. I enjoyed the beet carpaccio though, tender, sweet and creamy from the dressing with basil salad being a nice refreshing addition to the dish. I ordered a margherita pizza and unfortunately it wasn't woodfired so it didn't have that smokey flavor that I love. The beef bourguignon was definitely the star of the show, the wine reduction was amazing and the beef cheek was cooked incredibly tender. Didn't try the bone marrow but for $25 for a few pieces of gnocchi with a random side of gnocchi, it's a bit strange to me. It would have went better with bread, in my opinion. Because the ambiance is so intimate, I would highly suggest only taking dates here as I came with a friend and it was pretty awkward for a while LOL. Fancy French place. As other Yelpers have mentioned, the interior is fantastic. Cocktails were great. Got the French onion soup (very good), the escargot (get the bread with it), the truffle pasta flamey thing, and the sea bass. Now. I know the truffle pasta thing is one of their signature courses, and it is very very good. They use white truffle in the sauce, and sprinkle a generous amount of shaved black truffle on top, and the server brings this huge wheel of parmesan and sets part of it on fire, then mixes the pasta in with it (which is probably why this is $85 - truffles + dinner and a show). That being said, I probably would not get it again. The sea bass was well made, but I felt was meh in flavor. The winner of the night was probably the French onion soup and the escargot. We went on a Monday night so it was pretty quiet. There were a few other diners. We were greeted and served quickly and everyone was professional. The server gave us recommendations for wine which were spot on. The food was delicious albeit a bit pricey. I would go again. read more
