Nightmare! Worst time of my life! What a horrendous experience! We Came there on A Thursday night to celebrate girlfriend's birthday. Our reservation was for 9pm. The place was packed and even at the bar there was no place to wait. After waiting in between the rows for more than an hour we were finally sat at the table by the hostess. The waiter came to take our order, as he was doing his thing, he was interrupted by the manager Freddy. He came and dropping sweat on our shirts stared that we need to free up the table for other people who had reserved this table. We said that we were sat here by the waitress. He had really humiliating attitude and kept asking us to show the reservation. After the back and forth with him he finally admitted that they made a mistake, but the mood was already spoiled. There were no apology of any kind. When we were leaving the second manager was sent to us to add insult to the injury by saying that the hostess made a mistake and we shouldn't have been seated there in a first place. None of them offered and kind of apology and they were totally rude and unprofessional. This is totally unacceptable behavior for such high end place. I would never recommend this place to any of my friends or family. Please stay away from it unless you are looking to ruin your evening... We live in Mew York and have been to Madison location many times and never had any problems with service or bad attitude. Always had a great time there. That is why when we were meeting a friend from Holland in Miami, we invited her there to Celebrate her birthday just to be soo disappointed... now not only in New York, but also in Europe people will know of a bad reputation. My son chose this restaurant for his 18th BD dinner on September 18, 2020. When I made the reservation on OpenTable. I requested to be seated outside along with a request to bring a chocolate soufflé with a candle to celebrate his birthday. This was a table for 2. When we arrived, we were put inside at a table behind the bar, with no regard for the outside table request, even though I told the man in charge. We were basically shoved to the worst table in the restaurant so that the old men accompanying the women with their assets out for everyone to see could be given preference. Service was appalling, the wrong food was brought to our table 3 times. A glass of wine took 30 minutes to arrive. When it came time to bring the dessert, my request was again ignored, not even an acknowledgement of my son's BD. It's shameful. Out of courtesy to my son, I did not complain to the manager because I did not want to make a scene and ruin my his evening any further. He was already pretty upset and frankly uncomfortable to be sitting inside in a room full of people who had no regard for the City's mandate to wear masks when walking around a restaurant. As an executive who entertains clients, I've been not only to Zuma in Miami on countless occasions, but also to Zuma all over the world, from New York, to London, to Rome. My husband is also a frequent diner in your restaurant. I don't know if you changed management, or if Covid has affected not only your cooking, as the food was tasteless, but also your overall customer service. It seems that for your brand this is no longer a priority. Needless to say, I will never return and will make sure to spread the word about your obvious deterioration. I recently celebrated my birthday at Zuma Miami for Sunday brunch, and it was an experience worth every penny! My friend and I opted for the classic brunch, which is $98 per person and includes all the delicious food you could ever dream of. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and seated outside on the balcony with a stunning view of yachts gliding along the water--such a perfect way to start the day. Our server explained the brunch buffet setup and promptly brought us sparkling water. We wasted no time indulging in a bit of everything, and trust me, everything was as delicious as it looked! The sushi was a standout--fresh, high-quality, and honestly, some of the best I've ever had. The dessert room was also a dream come true. Everything was incredibly tempting and absolutely delicious. I have been going to Zuma (in London) since 2005. I am very happy they opened off Brickel Ave downtown Miami. There was a previous issue with the Epic Hotel so I stayed away for a while. As far as Zuma is concerned, when I am in London, I probably eat there every other day. I absolutely Love the restaurant. I was not disappointed with the Miami version. The drinks at the bar are perfect. The mojitos are yummy, order two at a time. To the meal, started with the chili edamame. It was a little salty but I didnt mind, full of flavor. The Tuna Tataki was delicious just perfect. We had the Hamachi Jalapeno roll, it was a light on rice heavy on fish, very good. We ordered the Jumbo Tiger Prawn, just like London (except Londons version prepared a little better)! I just love this dish. The prawns are huge, grilled head on, split open cut up and put back in the shell for presentation. Yumm. We had the Miso Cod, small portion, wrapped in banana leaf cooked to perfection. Ahhhhhhhh. We finished with some ice cream and it was just a delicious meal. This is not a knock, but London's version is a tad better: better on the cooked food, but the fish is better in Florida. What a horrible experience as far as staff. We had just checked in to the hotel and decided to have dinner last minute. We walked down at 8pm and the hostess said "it will be a 90 minute wait, but the sushi bar is first come first serve". Many tables were empty for the First 15-20 minutes, so I went and asked the door man Kaseem but since being a doorman he had the power trip and told me he was sorry and cant get me a table for 2 at the time. So my wife and I sat at the bar for a good 30-45 minutes til 2 seats were available at the sushi bar. We finally see 2 people get up and we walk over to get the 2 seats since it was "first come first serve". So now we have some guy named josh that I have no clue what his title is telling me we cut in line.....WTF? When did first come first serve become cutting in line?. He pretty much tried explaining to me how he just made his own restaraunt rules up. And now if it wasn't for the server(thomas), we were ready to just leave because of the disrespect we have just encountered. This guy was great and definitely made the night for us. Just so you know...Zuma is my favorite restaurant in Miami. And it's not just because it's consistently rated as one of the top restaurants in Miami, but because of the rice hotpot with wild mushrooms. If you go to Zuma and DON'T order this for the table, it's like you didn't even go there. It's like going to Joe's Stone Crab and ordering the chicken (although the fried chicken at Joe's is pretty freakin' awesome) ANYWHO... order the rice hotpot for the table. It is soooooo good! Everything else is pretty standard, although cooked to perfection on the robata grill. The grilled ribeye is crazy good, too. Zuma is definitely a place to be seen. When you arrive at the valet (unless you park blocks away) it is a madhouse. There are luxury cars in every direction and they always park the Rolls Royce and Lambos out front. You walk into the Epic hotel and stay left, as Zuma is by the water. Now, there are some tables outside, but during the summer, it is uncomfortably warm. Inside is a hot scene and you'll definitely see some ballers. And even though Zuma is not TECHNICALLY in Brickell, it continues with my trend that "Brickell is the New South Beach!" read more

I have been to Zuma plenty of times. I have always got their signature menu at least 20x. To start they didn't provide 2-3 of the courses in which we always get. When we explained we had a dietary restriction I was told they can't change anything at all about it. Which again is not how we have ever been treated in Zuma in New York, Bangkok, California, Rome etc. Only after not receiving what always comes out in every omakase I asked for a manager. The pauses of 20-30 minutes between courses, the tender meat that always comes at the end coming cold, all of it ...the entire experience was not only terrible but service was not worth a $900 tab. This location needs to be accountable for not providing courses ...for what a menu has inside of it when a customer knows multiple items were missed . We didn't want to cause a scene, we told the waitress kindly she's missing courses. After the meat she brought out the way overdo asparagus on its own right before the dessert. It was a complete mess and there should be some sort of refund and responsibility to this evening. read more

There's no doubt this is a lovely venue, very up market with a choice of seating areas - the terrace, the lounge and the main restaurant. We were seated in the lounge area which had a good view of the terrace and waterway outside. To start we ordered a few things, the black cod and shrimp gyoza and the Japanese pickles. Personally I always think that the dipping sauce totally overpowers any kind of gyoza so you could fill the gyoza with anything and you wouldn't notice. The Japanese pickles were really good but then again I like pickled anything. We ordered a few of the rolls which included the obligatory Calfiornia roll. The rolls were fresh, well made and tasty but nothing special - plus they were a little on the small side. We also ordered the beef skewers which were very tender but again nothing special. The service was good, nothing to compain about there. For the hour or so we were there the place was fairly quiet with a lot of open tables but according to OpenTable there were no reservations available. I think next time I'd give Toyko Blue a go instead. read more

This used to be the best sushi place in Miami. However now they have become extremely elitist. Despite having a reservation they will tell you that you don't. You will be asked to Wait at the bar. They have an excellent drink selection. However as anticipated it is costly. The food has diminished in quality since the inception of the restaurant. In addition I found the wait time between meals to be long despite the lack of a full restaurant. The waitstaff is attendant and will bring your drinks quickly. They are also good to push bottled water. I understand this but I think that many customers can be put off by this behavior. Since my last experience I don't anticipate returning. There was a time that I would absolutely recommend this place above any other sushi restaurant in Miami. Now I must say there are plenty other better places to eat. Even though it is possible to get a table, or sit down at the bar without a reservation, I highly recommend that you call ahead to make sure your visit is even better. YOU will be glad you did. The restaurant offers four different seating environments, and three different kitchens. For seating you get to choose from the main seating area, the bar, a sushi bar, and outside with a beautiful bay view. And the three different kitchen areas are there to support the perfectly crafted menu, a main kitchen, a grill station and a sushi bar. The food is out of this world. Spicy and delicious. Wait staff is on point. Very attentive. I've had lunch, and dinner here. both great experience. I have been there for brunch and lunch and diner many time. I really enjoy my time there but the service change and now it is a 0. I notice a decrease also in the quality of the product serve for example the rebate beef is not as tender as before.... The food stay generally good but the way you are treated is awful and you have to give 20% off tips and no choice even u are treated badly. I think the zuma should remember that tips signify To Insure Proper Services and if I well remember there is no tip obligation it is the customer who decide. So if you want a good tip have a good customer service but don't get it by obligation, this restaurant is still working because of the past reputation but we are far from what is was before. This time was my last visit....good bye to one of my favorite place zuma time is done now I am moving on and I will search my next spot. This Is the first time I have felt the need to write a review after what I witnessed at Zuma last night. i've been to this restaurant numerous times when I was about to walk in last night I witnessed what I assume is one of the managers a guy with a beard slapping his hands banging on the bar and yelling at one of the bartenders like he was a child. IN FRONT OF CUSTOMERS! To see that sort of behavior in any form of hospitality is utterly unacceptable unprofessional and such a low standard it is shameful. Zuma is supposed to be high class this is not what I witnessed last night it has really left a sour taste in my mouth and I don't think that I can go and support a restaurant that treats the employees like that. Good on the bartender for keeping calm and being respectful in the situation whoever this Manager is, is letting this restaurant down and he needs to go. Only worth it for the view, not food. I was debating between dining at Nobu or Zuma for my brother's birthday. The waitress was rude and rarely came to our table. We told her we wanted all of our food together, and when it all came out separately, I told her and she said that I was wrong. This was one of few impolite things that happened. Portions were small, food quality was low-average for the price. Tuna tartare was like raw fish paste. Sushi pieces were small. Mushrooms were so salty we had to send it back. Ambiance and gorgeous view/location are what's giving this review a 2 and not a 1. Manager and bus boys were polite, the waitress looked annoyed/impatient even before we got there. Would not dine there again. Maybe just to get drinks but no food. Also comes with a 20% service charge which is fine but then the waitress told us to tip on top of that because apparently it's not part of her tip...? read more

I was not expecting , Wow WOW! This was so much better than I expected. I thought it would be just a another sushi-fusion type restaurant, blah blah blah, but it really made an impression. The restaurant itself has a great vibe, and screams "hot new place". We went at night, so the view was actually pretty nice, the river, the bridge and the lights. We started with the perfectly seasoned edamame, which I think was the best I've ever had. All the sushi and seafood was very fresh and very delicious. The real star, however, was the spicy beef tenderloin. It was outstanding, so much so that we got a second order! I think it goes on my list of things that I could eat almost every day and not get sick of. If you eat here, you must order it. It should be printed on the menu. Absolutely horrible. I dined here on 3/12/2021 with a reservation for OUTDOOR dining specified. When we arrived, they told us they only had indoor dining left. Especially during a time of COVID, this is very disrespectful but we sat down anyway. We ordered a few things for the table to share, starting with the Calamari. After waiting 20 minutes, it was COLD. The sauce on the salmon sour and the asparagus came out horribly soggy... all that being said, I ended up THROWING UP THE FOOD THAT NIGHT. I was absolutely horrified. When I called the restaurant to speak with the manager he stated "this could not be from their restaurant and to call back somewhere else that I dined at". They did not offer to even listen to me, nor did they ask that I come back for a better experience. DO NO WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. read more

Both sushi rolls were exceptionally fresh, with the yellowtail roll standing out as a favorite. The steak outshone the salmon in terms of flavor, although both were cooked perfectly. For dessert, I tried their molten chocolate cake, which was delicious but somewhat overpriced at $17.
