Came not knowing what to expect and left very pleased with the experience. Party of four with two littles (8 &11). We decided to try the low country boil, classic style and it was delicious (use the gloves). The wife and I split it with a side of the homemade chips and dank sauce. All excellent and plenty to eat. The girls split a chicken sandwich and they really enjoyed it. Great time, great atmosphere. Annamarie was our waitress and provided excellent service. We will return. Parking is limited and tight. Super disappointed. I have been going to Zunzi's for over a decade. It has always been a go to for when friends and family from out of town visit. My husband and I loved the slap chip nachos and would bring people here specifically for this dish. We brought a friend from out of town a few weeks ago and the new menu was beyond disappointing. It was just microwaved cheese on top of cold unseasoned fries. Not sure what happened to the menu, but we'll have to find another spot to take people to. read more

Finally, a restaurant on Tybee that services more than fried shrimp baskets. I am already a fan of the downtown location, so I was ecstatic they expended to tybee island! I came a few times during the summer for drinks, but most recently for the winter igloo. My friend booked a reservation online for an igloo downtown. Unfortunately, they double booked and had to move our reservation. We were so glad we could come out to Tybee for this experience. Jess was our waitress and she was a doll. Professional, efficient, and wonderful to dine with. She even took photos for us after dinner. Brad popped in to introduce himself and let us know he was in the kitchen that night. Since our reservation was moved, we were definitely taken care of well. We had a group of 7. We started with a round of spiked hot drinks, and the Lekker Spread (4 dips sampler). We had the hummus, Taziki, peri-peri cheese and dank sauce served with chips, pitas and veggies. We loved all 4. I ordered the falafel roll on French bread for dinner, also served with chips. Everything tasted great and fresh. The igloo was warm, but they can unzip windows if it gets too warm inside. They are quiet and private and feature the full menu with drink specials. With games and blankets provided, we didn't want to leave. We had so much fun and I can't wait to come back! read more

I've been coming to Tybee for more than 25 years, and this is hands-down the best combination of island spirit, genuinely great food, refreshing margaritas, cold beers and fun energy that I've experienced down here. We've enjoyed the one downtown Savannah so we thought we'd try the one on Tybee. Not disappointed. Excellent service, very sweet girl was attentive to us the whole time. Wife's chicken topped salad was great. Very tasty chicken. My Johnny Chow sandwich was flavorful, but warning.........it's HOT (spicy). Too hot for me actually. Wish I'd known that. A fun place for a sauce and a cocktail! The cocktail menu was extensive and tasty, as was the sauce variety (try the flight with chips). The peel and eat shrimp was DELICIOUS! Like the kind of good where you almost eat your fingers. The conquistador was also a favorite of the table but only after some heavy dousing in our sauce samplers. The outdoor seating was both a pro and a con. The ambience was cool and distinctly island, which was a nice touch but the flies were almost unbearable, which came close to ruining the meal. I'm not 100% sure I'd eat there during the day again because of it, but would definitely return for dinner! read more

Zunzi was really off the mark today. We ordered two "cold weather" drinks, only to be told they did not have the proper mixers to make either of the two drinks. Suggestion: If you do not have the proper inventory, do not offer the drinks to sell. Our appetizer of Oysters Rockefeller (which is very good) took 40 minutes to be served. Our wings took over an hour! We had to ask our server for silverware, and then napkins, and then extra napkins. We were served ranch dressing, when we ordered blue cheese. It took ten minutes to get the blue cheese (as our wings were now getting cold). Because of the consistent tardiness, our server tried to appease us with some chips... and then, after. the meal, had the audacity to charge us for the chips! We flatly refused to pay for the chips. And then, the suggested gratuity on the bill was 26% !!!! I over-rode the auto tip and adjusted to 12%. Lousy service = small tip. This makes two lunches in two weeks with such poor service, both from the kitchen staff, servers and inventory. Zunzi, you have one more visit to get your act together. read more

My wife and I have been frequenting the multiple locations since we first met. The vibrant feel and comfort food has always been such a joy to share. While We remain ecstatic for the success they have had; we both had a recent visit that highlighted either a rebranding or overall decline. While the diverse menu has been a welcome addition, abandoning flagship items might be an oversight. For example, the Conquistador used to be of gigantic proportions and leaving the client with a sense of shame after finishing the entire thing... now the price has seemingly increased and it's maybe 60% of its former glory in size and toppings were even more scarce. Not sure if it's new but charging for sauce to accompany an already under impressive sandwich is more insult to injury. The sauce is a staple and that was discouraging. We also ordered the queso with meat on our last trip....a once luxury now was served rather cold and smaller scale for even two people. When you're internally questioning if it's worth the calories..it's not. I don't wish to complain entirely..I very much want the franchise to succeed and hope it's not too far gone. There are many fantastic things that I love! As someone who frequents Tybee, it's an easy location for friends/family for ease of parking and sense of safety. There's not much ambiance here, but you're not coming for that. This location (unsure if all locations) is open on all four sides with fans blowing to keep you cool. They have TVs and music playing fairly loudly. The service was good, except that they weren't sure about cutting our sandwich in half. If you're used to the local water, that part is fine, but if not maybe get a drink. What makes this five stars is the sandwiches. Such good flavor and unique flavors! We shared The Godfather ($17, served hot) and the Bird Island ($15, served cold). The Bird Island definitely has a kick to it, but we were told not as much as the Johnny Chow, which was what we originally wanted but decided we weren't up for with the spice level that day. I didn't finish my chips and dank sauce so I brought the leftovers with me (in a compostable container, woo!) and snacked on them for the rest of our trip. I stopped by to grab drinks while walking around the local artist market. I got a mocktail - it was hot and early in the day. They can make their cocktails (except frozen drinks) into a non-alcoholic cocktail. Hubster and I came to Tybee to start the new year with a clear mid set. On our way in we saw the cute little igloo huts outside and decided on our way out that we would stop and have a little sip - surely they had a holiday drink menu, right?! Yes they did, and they didn't disappoint! We tried the Sugar Cookie shot (cold) and the Stiflers Mom shot (hot), both were delicious but we preferred the sugar cookie. He ordered the Caramel Irish Coffee and said it was delicious, I'm not a caramel person but he loved the drink. I ordered the Winter Siesta and it was a nice cold drink. We also got an order of the wings and all the sauces to try. Hubby loved the hot as shit sauce the most, and he isn't a spicy guy! As always, the service was amazing, especially for a holiday!!!! Don't know what happened with our experience but I'll not return. My wife ordered a drink and the waitstaff never heard of a golden or Cadillac margarita. Wife explained it's a margarita with Cointreau. Wife was told it can't be done. Then she asked for a different tequila and they told her can't be done unless tequila was on the side. Menu is very limited. Too many "house" terms used for dishes and sauces. Explanations not included on menu. The "chips" served were under cooked. And one of my biggest issues at restaurants: employees gather in a space too close to tables. The employees gathered approximately 6-10ft away talking about this or that. You should be better. Fix your business model or just go away. This place is sooo shady - make sure you ask for an itemized receipt. They rip you off every chance they get. They charge for a souvenir cup they don't tell you about, they charge for a side of chips that look like fungal-infected toenails that they don't tell you about, they charge for a side of sauce with the wings that they offered us, and they also charge for something bizarre called a "shit yeah guarantee," which makes no sense. Why are they charging the customer for some guarantee that they offer? The server's explanation was, "I don't know, we charge everybody that charge, it is on everyone's check." WTF? How is that better, or justified? For the record, no one at my table was exclaiming "shit yeah" about how amazing the food was. The lemon pepper wings were laughable and my partner didn't even eat half of them. My sandwich was really good, but we were so pissed off by the rest of our experience that it's not even worth telling you about. Got to admit, I wasn't sure the kids would like this place based on the menu, but they LOVED it. Not only did they branch out and try new foods (Curry Chicken Salad?!), but they absolutely fell in love with our server (Morgan!). Who are we kidding? So did we! Food was great. Everyone loved EVERYTHING. Kids meals are a deal, come with a rice crispy treat AND popsicle! But all that's not to mention the drinks! This place has a great happy hour with live music.
