My niece raved about this little ice cream shop to me today, so decided to join her after dinner. They have a good amount of unique flavors that sounded really good. She chose the espresso chip while I chose the chocolate lavender. Both weren't overly sweet which is always a plus. I thought the lavender would be overpowering but surprisingly it wasn't. Love this small local business in downtown Redlands! The customer service, experience, and the ice cream are awesome, and that's what keeps me coming back. Stopped by with my family during the afternoon and there was a line out the door, but it moved pretty fast. Plenty of delicious, unique flavors on the menu to choose from. We ended up getting some of our favorites, the brown butter chocolate caramel, the lemon custard with strawberry, and the mint chip. We had to wait a little bit, but it was well worth it. Usually there's a long line out the door but fortunately there was only one person ahead of us ordering Ice cream store is quite small and maybe room for six or so to stand comfy inside waiting for your ice cream. Hubby ordered the regular Espresso Chip and I had the strawberry sorbet. We loved it! The taste of strawberries cooling my mouth was delicious! You can see them make the ice cream "fresh" in front of you and most of their flavors have a good additional topping that goes with it. The two flavors I recommend are: 1) Espresso chip - the flavor we got today. Usually it's sold out. It has a good flavor and comes with little coffee bits (although more of a powder) 2) Salted caramel - comes with a delicious high quality salt that works very well Note that when you order scoops, for example the large (3 scoops), the entire bowl must be of the same ice cream. Went to a La minute tonight as our household has been craving it. Went to walk in and the gentlemen working said we needed masks, which is fine, but we didn't have any because we left quickly and we're just running for some ice cream. I asked if he had a mask for us if it's required and he said no and I can't serve you the owner said so. There was not a soul in the place and he was just standing at the register. Luckily we had an old mask in the car so just one of us went in to order. That being said it's a 50 degree day and the place was dead, watched literally 10 people get turned away all because of masks, every one of them asked if they had one to give them, same answer every time. Before I left I suggested to the worker to request masks to give patrons instead of losing all that business he said the owner said it's too expensive to do that. You can get 100 masks for $5 or you can lose paying customers and make people so upset they won't ever return. As a business person myself I'd much rather have cheap masks on hand then to lose so much business, especially during the slow time of year. On another note my order was incorrect, luckily what I got instead was good but it wasn't what I ordered and I repeated it 3 times. I'm definitely disappointed with this place, not because of the food but because of the service. read more

I tried their best seller salted caramel, orange honey, and olive oil vanilla. Their most popular flavors are the classics, but I'm a fan of the specialties. The shop is facing Citrus Ave, there's seating around the corner, the interior is trendy and customer service is good. The ice cream isn't anything special other than the locally sourced ingredients. I wish they didn't use nitrogen in their ice cream because then it's neither as creamy nor decadent as ice cream should be. The flavors are light, except for the orange blossom honey in the orange honey, which is why it was my favorite of the three. I love à la minute so much! This place uses liquid nitrogen to make their ice cream, and I don't know how it exactly affects the ice cream, but everything I've had here has been pretty amazing. I've gotta say that the ice cream is all very creamy and rich. Every flavor has been delicious. I think it's great that they have some classics as well as specialty flavors. They have some flavors that I really want to try because they sound so weird like Olive Oil Vanilla, but at the same time I'm apprehensive. I've tried the chocolate lavender and think it has a nice balance of chocolate with just enough lavender flavor, I'm not a fan of the cacao nibs though. The avocado was also very delicious; I love avocado in sweets (I grew up drinking avocado milkshakes) and the avocado flavor in this is a lot more subtle than what I've had in the past but good nonetheless. Can never go wrong with Salted Caramel I think, and à la minute's doesn't disappoint. I've also tried a seasonal flavor for July, Blueberry Apricot custard, very delicious but I was hoping for a stronger blueberry flavor. I do gotta say that the shop itself is pretty small, given how good and popular it is. You really can't fit very many people in, and I've seen the line out the door at times. They seem to make it work though, and you don't wait very long after ordering to get your ice cream. And they're all pretty friendly about it too. I came to Redlands to go to a climbing gym that ended up being closed. So I did a quick Yelp search to see if there was anything around for me to check out. Found this adorable place that is located inside of a quaint shopping plaza with a bunch of cute stores and restaurants! This place ended up probably being top 3 ice creams I've ever had in my life. The store offers both classic flavors, specialty flavors, sorbets, and vegan ice cream. And they're made to order which is cool. If you love fruit flavored ice cream then this is the perfect place for you since they offer a lot of unique fruit infused flavors. I got the Orange Honey and it was perfect! Not overly sweet, noticeable flavor, perfectly creamy, and didn't come even close to melting during the entire duration I ate it. And I took my sweet time! The little spoons are perfect for how rich and decadent the ice cream is. I also REALLY appreciate that they offer a mini size ($3.50) since I usually just want a little taste! It was the perfect portion! An important thing to note is that you can only get one flavor in your cup, no matter what size! I think one thing I'd suggest to them is to make some of the specialty flavors vegan! My lactose intolerant self cannot be eating this amount of dairy all the time, but really wants to enjoy the specialty flavors! My partner and I go here every three days for a pint of salted caramel, and the staff is always so sweet and fun to chat with when they aren't overwhelmingly busy. My only complaint for this place is that the customers tend to hang out inside even after they've gotten their icecream, which wouldn't matter if the store wasn't so tiny. When ever I'm in Redlands I make it a point to visit here for some yummy fresh ice cream. This place is always busy and is a bit on the tiny side, so expect to wait. It is so worth it though. You can get regular flavors or go with one of their unique fair, this time I went with Lemon curd. This flavor came with a strawberry compote that fit perfectly. The lemon's sour to the strawberry's sweet was off the charges. As for sizing mini is a great after dinner snack, and regular is good as dinner or to share with a friend.
