Karen had just come out yesterday to help my wife and I get back into our apartment. We were in a hurry to leave and left our keys indoors! Anyway I gave Karen a call, she requested a picture of our lock and she drove straight over in less than twenty minutes. Really lovely person and very friendly, had our door open within five minutes of arriving. She had also identified that our locks were installed incorrectly (backward, my bad) and actually had to pick our lock upside down! After we got inside she asked about our dead bolt which hadn't been replaced since we moved here, and I said I had kept the new one but was unable to install it. She noticed our current dead bolt lock could pose a safety hazard and offered to install our new one free of charge which she did. She said that she offered because she didn't like to see a family with security vulnerabilities - that is customer service. In any case she was really lovely, and now our family not only has access to the apartment but her one visit has improved the safety of our home for which I am immensely grateful. Karen is awesome!! I had locked one of my closets at a bed and breakfast that I was managing and tried to pick it myself, only to have broken the wire into the lock. I had guests coming the next day so getting the lock open was an emergency. When I called, she answered very promptly, asked me some questions on what type of lock it was so she'd be able to bring the right tools, and assured me that the job was an easy fix. I told her the situation, and she came within the next 30 minutes! She was able to get the closet door open within 10 minutes... I was in total disbelief considering the door lock was pretty old and I had made the job harder by jamming the keyhole with some metal wire... On top of that, I had bought a new door lock that I was going to ask my handyman to install, but she had offered to install it for me at no charge. Karen was awesome. I got a place in town for two nights because I was taking the bar exam and not even five minutes there I locked myself out with all my stuff including my phone in my room. I called the locksmith they said they'd be there in 20 minutes and I went outside to wait. Of course island time being what it is I didn't try or even worry until later than three hours almost 1130 at night. At that hour I stopped some strange man driving down the road on the bicycle and asked to borrow his phone so I could call another locksmith. Lost my keys to my lanai door, bought the replacement barrel from Hardware Hawaii who told me "no problem, just remove two screws on the handle and you can pop the old one out and put this new one in." Karen was great -- I needed to rekey 3 entry doorknobs and 3 deadbolts on our house and got a very reasonable quote and a same day appointment. Super fast and super responsive! I called Karen at 6:30 pm and she picked up on the first ring (no annoying answering machines) and she was at my home in Kaneohe in less than 15 minutes. I tried several other 24/7 locksmiths -- I got answering machines for every one of them! Karen was efficient (was-in in less than 10 minutes, even with a dead bolt!), very knowledgeable, and provided me free advice on how to prevent future lock-outs without inviting thieves (i.e. avoid lock boxes and hiding keys under things or around the area!). She's going to be my go-to locksmith. I love how quickly she responded. I thought I was going to have to wait hours for someone to show up because of the time of day.
