I've given 1,2 Tea quite a few chances over the last few months and each time I left disappointed. 2/4 visits they didn't have any boba, which as a boba shop is absolutely wild. We do crave it later in the evening around 8/9pm usually but still, if you operate a boba store never run out of boba. Last time I ordered my go to brown sugar boba drink and the boba was dry and way too chewy and just not as good quality as I would hope. At $9 a beverage it's quite steep for the not so great quality! I LOVE boba and will continue to crave it so I can only hope in the future 1,2 tea steps it up! Personally i'm not a huge fan of this boba, the boba doesn't have much flavor and has a pretty unsatisfying texture. it feels inconsistent throughout and the outside is nice and chewy but inside feels weird and undercooked. But sometimes you get smaller pearls that are wayyyy too overcooked and just kinda fall apart. I got the Green Tiger, a tiger is using the assam black tea and then adding the brown sugar boba syrup as well. The drink itself was pretty solid, nothing too special in my opinion but tastes good. My partner got the green thai tea and I thought it was abysmal, it basically tasted like nothing. She added more sugar but it still tasted like extremely watered down tea. It lacked any real flavor and if I wasn't told it was supposed to be green thai tea I wouldn't have a clue what I was drinking. Service was super fast and nice, no complaints there. When we asked questions and to add more sugar they had no problems. I came here specifically to try the green Thai tea after seeing many positive reviews for it. I was in fact quite disappointed, as the drink had basically no flavor to it. The boba was also quite flavorless and not very sweet, as well has having an inconsistent texture throughout. Some bobas were nice and chewy on the outside, but hard on the inside, while others were so overcooked they were almost dissolved. The only thing that saved the green tiger was the brown sugar syrup which took over in flavor. Overall I'm not too picky when it comes to my boba but I was honestly extremely let down by this. I've been wanting to try this boba place and I was in this area. They weren't busy when I went in, so service was fast! Prices were $4-6 per drink. The interior design gives a warm and welcoming feel. It is connected next door to the Ijji noodle restaurant, so it can get loud when they are busy. Otherwise, it would be a great place to sit back and hangout with friends or study. I ordered the Vanilla Chai, Jasmine, and Matcha Milk Teas all with boba. The vanilla chai is like a cinnamon roll made into a drink lol. The Jasmine had the perfect amount of tea to milk ratio giving it enough tea flavor, but not too overpowering. The matcha did not have enough matcha flavor. The boba tasted like it was made in-house. I wished it was not as hard, chewier, and had added sugar because there's a lack of flavor within the boba. We were driving in the parking lot today and we went to Sally's beauty supply. As we're sitting in the parking lot, we are like hey let's go to one to tea. A friend of mine had never been there so instead of going to Starbucks, sorry Starbucks, we went there, and she had a rose, coconut milk, Boba tea. I had a honeydew Boba tea and also we got a raspberry Boba tea. It was a nice change very refreshing not tons of ice like other places. So it was a nice experience right there. I ended up enjoying it so now anytime I order food from there I usually throw in a milk tea as well. I usually go for a thai milk tea, however I recently discovered their thai green milk tea and I am obsessed! I'm now going out of my way just to drive over there and get the thai green tea. It's so delicious - I think it's a mix of traditional milk tea and matcha. My husband has been getting the earl grey milk tea which he also loves, and he can be picky about drinks. The only slight critique is that when I order in store sometimes the teas seem to take a long while to be made, even if there aren't many other people in there. I understand that they also process orders for the restaurant so maybe that has something to do with it, but I usually prepare myself for a bit of a wait to get my drink and don't go if I'm in a hurry. read more

I love boba! And I have a friend who had never tried it, so we went to this 1, 2 Tea location by her house. It was the best possible place to take someone who is new to bubble tea! The service was SO friendly and welcoming, and the person (dang I forget his name) helping us even offered samples of the toppings (which is apparently a confusing term if you are new to this world - I think a more accurate term is mix-ins or something. But I digress). We tried some and they were great, especially the egg pudding, which is like custard. But I was glad to have tried it because I didn't really want the texture of it in my drink. The menu has lots of options and my normal go to is Thai tea with boba, but I wanted to try something new. Since it was 1000 degrees outside, I thought a fruit tea might be extra refreshing and opted for mango. And I had the option to make it SPARKLE! Fizzy drinks are my favorite, and the mango was a good flavor (it can be so fake and gross, I was worred but did not need to!) and the boba was delicious and I was SO happy! My friend got the Thai tea and said it was super tasty too. An excellent first boba experience, yay! We also got some food. I got a banh mi, which is listed as one of the snacks on the menu at 1, 2, Tea. They also gave us a menu for Ijji 3 - so extensive! and when we asked how to order, the (again, amazingly helpful) person said he'd have someone from Ijji come over and take out order. So that service was excellent too and the ramen and my pork banh mi were great. Basically...all our food and drink dreams came true! And in my personal opinion, it would be the Matcha Milk Tea w Raspberry (yes, raspberry) and COCONUT JELLY! Soo, I can finally cross trying this place off my 'To-Do' list and it paid off biggo time-o!! The staff welcomed me and attended to me immediately. They were very knowledgeable and considerate, and gave great suggestions. I never would've thought to jazz up matcha with Raspberry but let me tell you... IT WORKS. And the jelly? Yes! Yes! Yes! Boba Tea in South Reno with poke and ramen in the same building? How can you lose? I thought I was coming on here to drop a first to review but a swing and a miss there. That's a ok though because it means some peeps have already discovered this sweet treat. 1,2 Tea was already blowing up the boba spot with their original cafe off California, so I knew the drinks were good, but I was blown away by the friendly service and selection they're offering here! I finally understand the hype over "Brown Sugar Boba Tea". I'm in love. The Okinawa is an awesome option for those that like a more direct approach to milk tea. It's a black tea infused with brown sugar that makes for a delicious toffee/coffee flavor with the tea behind it. All that extra flavor is coming from the brown sugar. I got mine with zero sugar added and it's as sweet as I'd like it to be. I also grabbed a taro milk tea and got it zero sweetness. That was a mistake. It wasn't sweet at all. I was expecting the taro flavored powder to add the sweetness but it wasn't there. Next time 10%-25% and I bet I hit the mark right! This is the closest bubble tea place to us, so we decided to give it a try. The prices are on the higher side (came out to $15+ for our 2 drinks). We were 1 of 2 other parties in the store. Another customer came in after us and got their order before ours so we had to go up and ask about our order and turns out they just forgot about it, so we had to wait about 15-20 minutes for 2 drinks. The strawberry smoothie my daughter ordered tasted sweet and syrupy (not sure if it tasted artificial or just the sugar. My hojicha milk tea, 25% sugar, no ice, was perfect in temperature and sweetness. Good hojicha flavor. Perfect temperature for me, a tiny bit warm. Lacks mouthfeel, like not creamy enough. The worst is I asked for crystal boba for some texture because I saw reviews that their boba was not too good, a bit undercooked, so I ordered the crystal boba, but they forgot to add it in. We were driving away already, so we were not about to go back and wait another 30 minutes for it.... Sad. Some reviews said they were pricey but they're actually pretty cheap, compared to boba in SF. OMG! This place is adorable, I love their fist location (close to reno high school), but this new one is more spacious with a warm and cozy feel to it. Customer Service is phenomenal, as always. They have an extensive menu of drinks which I love about them but I see a couple new items that I have yet to try. So today I grabbed a lavender-rose milk tea (I think it's one of the new drink), grapefruit fruit tea and the boyfriend's staple drink: strawberry-mango fruit tea. Sweetness level can always be adjusted, just let them know. I like mine 25-50% and it's perfect! I personally think they have one of the best milk teas in town. They have so many flavors to choose from and they're very consistent with how they make their drinks. Always love a good boba shop experience especially after trying their older location in Reno and not really enjoying it. This modern, new spot definitely rallies behind the Ijji Noodle next door to create a wonderful dining experience for anyone that is a fan of Asian cuisine. First off, their menu is expansive and features a lot of flavors and teas that I normally wouldn't find in other shops. Hojicha is available here and my mind was made up immediately. I ordered their Hojicha milk tea with 50% sugar and boba and it was fantastic. Boba was a great consistency and the drink was not overly sugary even with the reduction. You could actually taste the tea which is what I appreciate from solid boba shops. All of the milk teas utilize a non-dairy creamer base which is fantastic. I can't recall if the menu had drinks that featured cow's milk or something similar, but for those that are vegan or lactose intolerant (which is most people to be honest), fear not here! You can order a drink (average $5) and either enjoy it inside their shop or even take it inside Ijji to dig into some of their noodle options. Hooray!! We have excellent, reliable boba teas and smoothies in south Reno! Extra bonus as it's connected to Ijji 3! We discovered this place before it had a sign or any of the window photos when we walking in for poke. What a lovely surprise! The guy who opened & runs the place is a joy! He gave us a rundown on the menu, offered samples of the toppings available, and had top notch ingredients. Most boba places use a powder as the base, not here. They have syrups and concentrates in which you can see the actual base of flavor, be it strawberry or lavender. The quality of ingredients make for an excellent drink! My son created my daughter's favorite combo from lavender & rose milk teas. It's a hot... don't be afraid to ask for new combos! I love the smoothies, I think taro has always been a favorite... but the guava is so, so good. Passion fruit, mango, strawberry, coconut syrups are made from the actual fruit creating the best boba smoothies I've had in the continental US. The lavender syrup has actual bits of lavender without being overpowering. I still get amazed every time we go. Toppings, they have a lot! Something for everyone, or go without as their drinks are amazing on their own. Their boba is so good with the perfect chewy texture you'd expect. The Crystal boba was new to me, and not I have to have both; it's totally different, almost a crunch to the firm texture, not overly sweet, and clear! Very cool to add to the mix. They have a large variety of popping boba for little bursts of flavor. They are good sized, and keep their shape until you pop them! Sometimes we just get sides of toppings as a treat for later. They also have jellies and aloe and custards as add ins. I think we've tried them all and have liked them all. In addition, they've got a great menu of savory eats as well. The spring & summer rolls are some of the better ones town for sure. The takoyaki is another favorite. We spend way too much money on Boba, and even more so now that 1, 2 Tea opened a location on the south end of town near us. Just like their original location, 1,2 Tea South serves up some yummy Boba drink concoctions. My daughters' favorites are the white rabbit (literally taste like the candy I used to eat as a kid), Hokkaido, thai tea, and Taro. My fave is the mangonada drink. Yum! You can adjust the sweetness on all their drinks and if you aren't into boba can get their drinks without boba (tapioca balls). They also offer other mix-ins aside from boba.
