I came here with two friends and had an amazing time! The ambiance and indoor decoration was amazing. If you don't care about what you're eating then this place is for you. They definitely don't have very many healthy options but I won't give it less of a star for being a health freak. I ordered the Chicken thigh, cabbage, red pepper, avocado bowl and it did not disappoint t. The peanut sauce was DELICIOUS. If you get fries it's definitely worth using as a sauce for those as well. Mg friend got the friend chicken Sando and loved it. My other friend ordered the BLT and loved it as well. We ordered the 10 beer flight # 2 and my friends loved them as well. 10 Barrel is a pretty cool brewery and is located in the heart of Boise. Even though they are "chained" (ha!) down to Anheuser-Busch now, the beer tastes microbrewed. When they very first opened (feels like a lifetime ago because it was pre-kids for me), I went with the ol' man and we had dinner and beers. I ordered a pizza. I can't remember exactly what was on it, except for chorizo and potatoes. It was really bad. Greasy, floppy, cloying. I didn't finish hardly any of it, which is really saying something for me. I once ate an entire Little Caesar's (Little Cardboard?) by myself when pregnant. I'm clearly still scarred from that pizza because I have still never ordered food there again! This review is not based on that ancient experience. I just needed to get that off my chest. 10 Barrel really does have excellent beers. There is always a wide range of sours on tap and I adore their Cucumber Crush (which is widely available in grocery stores). The wheat beers are fantastic. A few weeks ago, I tried the Smash and it was delicious. I fear any beer that is sweet, but this one surprised me. When there with friends, I tried their nachos and was pleasantly surprised. I really liked the kettle cooked potatoes as the base and the yummy bleu cheese. Although...still a bit greasy and I definitely couldn't eat more than a few mouthfuls. This place is usually hopping, so come early in the night if you're hoping to snag a big table! If this place was truly local, it would have been a 4. I just don't love the corporate buy out. Took a mini road trip with my dog and stumbled upon this gem! It just happened to be dog friendly too on the patio! There are 2 patios: 1 bar patio and the other is restaurant. Both are dog accessible. They even brought a water dish out for my pup. There's a few benches on the bar patio side, but no shade (unless you're under the patio awning) or standing tables. Fried pimento cheese balls $7 I absolutely love the crunchiness of each ball, but the cheese inside was a miss for me. Some parts of the cheese were warm while the middle was cold. The tomato jam was an interesting twist on ketchup as there are tomato skin and sweetness in the jam. B.L.A.S.T $13 Fancy version of the BLT with added arugula and avocado. Pretty good, but I wish my bread was a bit toasted. They are also generous with their avocado spread. Fries were definitely crispy and still crispy after I slowly sampled a flight of beers. A Bee's G&T $10 It's a sweet drink. Tastes like you're drinking honey. It's Gin and Tonic with a citrus flavor and perhaps 5 scoops of honey. Beer Flight series 2.0 $10 for 10 samplings 1- Scale breaker Light almost tastes "creamy" because it coats my palette. 2-Wilder You can definitely taste the melon fruit! 3- American wheat Ewwww it tastes just like wheat beer 4-Boise pale ale Has a bold taste 5-Knight Ryde'R Very chocolatey. Definitely a huge fan, been here three trips so far and enjoyed it every time! To date I have tried the Kimchi Salmon burger, the Fried Chicken Sando and the B.L.A.S.T. (Ultimate BLT). All three were absolutely delicious. I would be hard pressed to pick a favorite amongst them. Looking for to future visits and trying more items. I've never been disappointed at any 10 Barrel location. There is usually a long wait no matter which one you go to. The menus vary based on location due to the fact that they like to partner with local farms to make the food fresh and support the local economy. I'm a sucker for macaroni and cheese. Each location has a different spin on it. This one had bacon jalapeño and house made potato chips. We also ordered the pup house burger that had grass fed beef, fried black onion, A1, garlic aioli, and their house made bun. My absolute favorite were their buttery pretzels with an ancho chili cheese sauce. I would also recommend their not so nacho nachos. They are their house made kettle chips with cheese, steak, chive, jalapeño. The other locations in Bend, Oregon are just as good as the one here in Boise, Idaho. Extremely disappointing and waste of money. I am doing my part to help support local restaurants by being a patron and have been very understanding as they recover from everything this last year. I am sure the training of new staff will take time. However, 10 Barrel in Boise got it all wrong last week and simply didn't deliver on the basics. Basic burgers, absolutely nothing special, $15. Fish and chips, meek and pitiful, small portioned and greasy instead of crispy and flaky, $15. Drinks (warm beer), appetizers (chips with small salsa)... final bill over $100. The fish and chips were terrible, soggy, oily and totally lacking in flavor. We asked for extra slaw when ordering and got maybe one ounce when served. Pointed this out to the waitress so we could get the "extra slaw" we ordered. Waitress snapped back arguing that this was the extra slaw portion size. Take a look at the picture Yelp community and decide for yourselves. We requested again to get additional slaw. Waitress huffed and puffed and later returned with a paper cup of raw cabbage, half spilling out of the cup. No dressing, definitely not slaw. Even worse, she was training a new hire and taught her how to argue with the customer and throw a fit. She returned while we ate to ask if we were okay or needed anything, but more as a formality rather than a desire to provide an enjoyable dining experience. I can't believe I left a tip. I encourage the manager of this restaurant to reach out to me if they care about their customers and online reputation. I will update this post and keep the Yelp community informed if they do. Until then, no more 10 Barrel... too many other places that appreciate our support and are doing their part to step it up and encourage us back. read more

Came here to try out their beers on draft as it was a hot day. My husband and I only really drink IPAs. The one I heard about, the Joe, they were out. Very disappointed but we tried the Apoc and Hazy Trail. They were both good. We decided we better get an appetizer in our stomach so we ordered the Steak 'not just' nachos. These nachos are made with potato chips rather than Mexican chips. It was very yummy but a bit messy. The nachos were brought out without a forks or appetizer plates so we asked and it was brought in no time. The white sauce that was use was a bit heavy on my stomach after about a hour I could feel it not settling well but my husband was fine. Just to let people know who may have that issue with creamy sauces. Jacob was our server was did a great job. Over 20 beers on tap, and their flights are a generous 10 pours for only $15, but......they pick the beers for you (only two flight options). Well, I'd been before and the service was iffy... takes a while to be greeted. I once worked in food service so I don't mind that part as much but it's worth mentioning. But when I went again and sat at the bar for dinner I was spoken to once after about 20 minutes, we got our drinks quickly then we were never spoken to again. We had to flag them down to get a check because we'd waited over 40 minutes to have our order taken but they just never returned. Which is very awkward considering we are at the bar and we can see them and they can see us. It just seemed like we were a burden for being there. I feel bizarrely ambivalent about 10 Barrel. On the one hand, they actually rock some pretty good pizza. I also enjoy their side garden salad--fresh and wonderful. They offer the option gluten free pizza crust (nice!). They mix a decent Moscow mule (though had to forgo the traditional Moscow Mule cup they had been serving them in due to the constant cup thievery! What the heck, Boise?!?!) . My dining companion quite enjoys their beer selection. It's a fun atmosphere and the service is lovely. On the other hand, their menu for pub grub other than pizza always seems a little uninspired to me. And, it always seems as though there is something that makes each selection untenable. Ie: The mac and cheese sounds good until you get to the part where it's loaded with bacon and jalapenos (I could handle bacon. maybe. but no jalapenos in this girls mac and cheese). The beer battered fish and chips comes with chipotle coleslaw (chipotle? In my slaw?) Or, the peanut butter bacon burger (need I say more?). I'm all for interesting flavor pairings...but none of these sounded very appetizing to me. At all. Had so much fun here! Attended a plant nite Boise event at this location and I had a great time! My friend and I got to the even early, so it gave us time to order drinks and catch up a little. The drink menu was great. There were plenty of beers to chose from as well as cocktails. We attended the event on a Monday evening around 6:45pm and the place was pretty busy. I didn't see a happy hour menu, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. The plant nite was help in a private room in the back of the restaurant. The had a server come through to bring drinks and food for anyone who wanted. My friend and I were very much involved with our plant that we didn't order anything. The staff was incredibly friendly and timely. The people who ordered food made me wish I had ordered food. I stuck to the IPA's (Boise pale ale, Apocalypse IPA, Ruffneck Peak, and Whispering IPA) that were on the list up on the chalkboard. For food, I ordered the Bratwurst burger that was on the specials menu. I'm used to a traditional burger, but this was a welcomed change in texture and flavor. It came with fries which you just have to have when you're in Idaho. Service: Service was excellent. At first we put our names down for a table, but we were able to find a spot in the bar section. Hubby ordered the Mountain Gem double IPA. It was tasty, as usual he's brought his Stanley growler with him. The APoc (Apocalypse) IPA was good too, their constance. We ordered kids pizza which was decent. I always try all my kids food, take one for the team in case it's poison. My other son ordered Mac & Cheese with Jalepenos. It had a slight kick but not enough to burn you at the other end the next day. My hubby and I shared the Pork pastrami. It has a rainbow of flavors, I think the sweet pickles and the salty pastrami and cheese hit the spot. Plenty of fries to share. And of course, the service was really good.
