The food and drinks were good, but we came in for happy hour and even mentioned it to our server only to find out when we got our check that nothing had been priced at "happy hour" pricing because "you have to sit in the bar area now." I tried this restaurant for the first time with my son. I just love a good gastropub and this one is excellent. I love their locally sourced, farm to table like menu. I love the fact that they change the menu with the seasons and cook what is locally available. The food was way better than I expected. I had their wedge salad with homemade ranch, it was amazing. I also tried their wings. You could tell the sauce on the wings was homemade and it was really delicious. My son had a hamburger and fries and they were equally incredible. Kinda ok. I wasn't overly impressed with the menu choices. So I stuck with the burger and fries. The plate was good, but I did ask for no tomato, and guess what came on it? My mom had the Cajun po boy, she asked how spicy it was. We were assured that it didn't have that much of a kick. But it did, and she didn't care for it. My Aunt had the fish and chips and liked it. Here for a work trip. Lots of places in Gahanna, but this spot definitely stood out just from the yelp reviews and the menu offerings. It definitely did not disappoint. Water is served in a beer growler. I found it funny that every table had a growler on it, but I guess that's how they do it here. Just makes it look like everyone is just drinking a straight up growler, made me chuckle. We were able to sit outside on a pleasant evening. Our server, Ricardo was definitely busy, but was friendly. I wouldn't recommend this place if you are in a terrible rush, but I felt like our meal was well paced (maybe leaning on the slow side), but it was a long day and it was nice to have a slow meal and enjoy food and drink. I had the PEI Pesto Muscles and they were delicious paired with the local Columbus brews I had. The ability to sop up the sauce with the bread at the end was my favorite part of the dish I had. We also ordered the deviled eggs as an appetizer. I've never had crispy prosciutto on top of a deviled egg before along with capers, but the salty/briney-ness definitely made sense. I was worried it would be TOO salty. They were super busy the evening we went (Thursday) so it was nice to see a great place being patronized.... for good reason too. I like that evolution, but what you enjoyed may not be there next time. It's a bit pricey. Entree, drink, and tip is going to hover in the $20 range. Flavor is there in most of the food. Some is just salt, which society has conditioned America to crave. Not many people carrying out leftovers, so portions must be just right. So as to not be vague for the business, let me address the fore-mentioned issues. All of these were addressed to a server and manager at the visit. All were offered to be corrected in some manner. Bill credit, re-cook, replace, or substitute. Warm soup not hot, Twice in same visit on two occasions. TV and marketing sell soup as a steaming hot. Why can't you? Mac n Cheez with lobster was dry and warm not hot. Chicken sandwich with so much aioli it had to be scraped. Tater Tots cold that were reheated with sour cream on top, rather than re-making the dish. 101 Beer Kitchen always keeps their menu interesting, which gives me a reason to keep going back. This time around, I had the Southern BLT Stacks and the 101 Burger. The Southern BLT Stacks actually blew my expectations away and was a lot more dynamic in flavor. It even overshadowed my burger, which was good, but fairly standard along with the fries. The other people I came with got the Housemade Soft Pretzels, Tuna and Avocado Toast, and Mac&Cheese as a side. The pretzels and cheese were good, but I personally prefer the classic gooey beer cheese. The Tuna and Avocado Toast was well-seasoned and the flavors of the vinaigrette, jam, and mayo worked great together. We all agreed the mac and cheese was a little bland, and probably would've been better with some protein added to it. When we asked the server for some hot sauce, he did us the favor of also giving us their house-made sriracha glaze, which tasted amazing. Overall, definitely recommend! read more

101 Beer Kitchen has become a Columbus favorite for me. There are a few different locations around the city, and all are unpretentious with seriously amazing food. The atmosphere is kind of like an upscale bar; always clean and well-kept, but it feels "lived in," if that makes sense. It's just so cozy here! Very family friendly as well. I've had tons of food and drinks from various 101 Beer Kitchen's over my years of living in Columbus, and I'm always impressed with the quality. On my most recent visit, our waiter explained to us that literally almost every single thing on the menu is made in-house, even down to the ranch dressing they serve with their wings. I was so impressed by this! But once you know, you know - everything you order here tastes so fresh and delicious, it really must be homemade. I highly recommend coming with friends and ordering drinks and appetizers to share; their honey adobo wings are some of the best wings I've had in Cbus, and the soft pretzels are absolutely to die for. Their salads are fantastic as well. I also appreciate that their menu is very seasonal, and they're always looking for ways to update their menu to provide fresh offerings. Side note, I just discovered recently that they have a happy hour...! My boyfriend lives very close to one of the locations, so this self-proclaimed happy hour princess will be back very soon. Went for Sunday Brunch with the fam. Great choices on the kids menu, simple foods that preschoolers actually eat and comes with a sweet treat option - rice krispie or cookie. I had the soup (curried cauliflower) and salad (winter kale). The soup was spicy and I can take the heat! Salad was great and slightly larger than "lunch" size portion, candied mango, apple, and cheese in a peanut gingery dressing. Will definitely order again. My husband had the server select since he's not picky and landed with SOUTHWEST STYLE CHORIZO & GRAVY, jalapeno cornbread base...I swear we were talking about it, I asked for a bite, and it was GONE! Overall 101 is one of our go-to Columbus restaurants. Most of the locations I have eaten at and recommend constantly to others. We often take out of towners here as well. Yum! Came here for a few small bites late night! We got the loaded tots and jalapeño poppers. Both were absolutely fantastic. I loved that you can tell the tots are made in house. The jalapeño poppers were probably some of the best I've ever had, I love that they put sweet apricot jam with the spice of the jalapeño peppers and Fresno's!! For a drink, I ordered their feature drink for the Gahannna herbal cocktail trail, it was a G and T. It was delicious and went down quite smooth. Despite being at the bar area the bartenders were still quite attentive and able to get our orders. Drinks - we all had wine. Good selection including a very very good Pinot noir for $10. Food- had the loaded tots. While they were obviously fried not too oily and a good ratio of toppings. Great for splitting. My friend and I split the mojo chicken salad and roasted chicken sandwich with the elote (Mexican corn) as my side. They split the entrees for us which was great. Sandwich was just okay. As the old saying goes, " the third time is a charm." Definitely was with my experience here 2 days ago for my dad's birthday celebration. Service was much better this time around. The food was so much better than I remember it. Although I don't think I really ever experienced their summer menu. I'm bummed it ended today as the items were so delicious! My husband and I ordered the fried green tomatoes it came with a sriracha like sauce, pimiento cheese and bacon on top. (My husband thought it was ribs on top, but I think he was just trying to mess with me.) The rest of my family dug into three orders of the chicken wings with the celery and blue cheese sauce. My mom got her salmon, sister got a salad, kids got pizza's, husband ordered steak medium-well. My brother in law got bacon and I think a salad. The man, the myth and the legend of the night (also known as my father) ordered ribs. That man deserved every bite of that! Speaking of my meal, I ordered the best dam lobster roll I've ever had here at 101 Beer Kitchen. The lobster was so fresh topped on the roll was to creamy and tasty. Paired with the corn on the cob was a perfect end-of-summer dinner combination. Just wanted to let you know the service was not up to par. They wouldn't/couldn't take a garnish off in order for us to all get an appetizer and then our drinks came way after we finished our lunch. On the plus side...the food and music playlist is great! We both had the Midwest BLT wrap and loved it. The fries are odd to me. Not great but not terrible. They looked like they're thrown in pan after frying. It's different. But, the experience was not a good one. We initially went to sit outside and found a table in the corner with one chair. I pulled another over and sat down. The general manager came over and accused me of moving "all the chairs" because that table was NOT to be used. I politely informed him this was fine but I did NOT move "all" the chairs around. He insisted there weren't any chairs there and that I moved them around. His voice is raised and he's asking if the chairs were there. Before I can answer, he's telling me they weren't there and I moved them. Not exactly the way I would like to start my evening. It was honestly absurd. Anyways, we moved inside and were initially served water rather quickly. I ordered a seltzer and my partner ordered a mix drink. The drinks took 20+ mins to get and they bring me a half a glass of seltzer (that I noticed had been sitting on the bar for 10 mins) and inform me they're out. Not a huge deal so I order a different drink. Luckily the bartender brings it directly to me instead of waiting on the waitress. We've been there around 30-40 mins and haven't had an order taken yet... So we wait. And wait. And wait. And wait. Until our order is taken. The food came out relatively quickly. We finish eating and I ask for a box. It takes 30 mins to GET A BOX and pay! Now, I understand places are short staffed and that's not their fault but the problem was the majority of servers are standing around talking, on their phones, and getting themselves sodas. They're not paying much attention to the tables at all. There's one server in particular that seems to be attentive but she's serving the patio. Our service didn't apologize for the wait or offer an explanation. She seemed to think it was completely normal to spend 2+ hours in a restaurant on a Thursday evening. I'm not sure I'd go back here anytime soon. I'm pretty understanding during this odd time but this was not a good experience with anything other than the food. read more

I felt extremely unprofessional to do this in front of customers and to speak to people this way in general.
