Brunch review only: I was sad to have not enjoyed this place for brunch and did not want to leave a review. Needs flavor, not salt, just flavor. To sum up our visit, the food didn't have any wow factor at all. Chicken texture is nice and crispy but no seasoning penetrates the actual inside. Waffle, same thing -- fluffy perfection, missing a buttermilk, vanilla or important flavor component. We tried a wine flight -- so so. Most of them were very sweet. Reluctantly (and both excitedly) ordered a dozen oysters -- ate two of twelve. We paid for them but they weren't fresh and they were huge. We could both smell and taste them. House-made biscuits needed a buttermilk taste added and jelly tasted like your everyday Market's Best/Welch's strawberry jam. I would come back for dinner as the menu sounds AMAZING, but unfortunately brunch is overhyped. Maybe not if you have a few drinks first, but true experience of the food was below par.

The first time I dined here I wasn't super impressed, but it was with a rather large group for an event a few years ago. My friend suggested we try this place again..... I'm glad I did. Dining with a smaller group (table for 4) made a big difference. First and foremost I want to say that the staff was amazing, attentive, and friendly. That makes a dining experience even better. The restaurant was clean with an open layout concept. They have TV's in case you want to catch a game. No matter where you sit, you will be able to see the TV, however bad seating is best. They have a cute wall for photo op as well. We came during happy hour which is a plus, and we ordered salmon bites with fries, lemon pepper wings, grilled oysters, beef skewers and artichoke dip. Everything was delicious with the grilled oysters being my favorite followed by the lemon pepper wings. They have a good selections of wine and if you like sweet red I highly recommend 7 daughters (yum). Street parking can be tough but they do offer valet parking for $15. If you're in the area give this place a try! I look forward to dining here again.

I made an online reservation here for 9 people for my celebratory graduation brunch. There is a $25 per person feee upon booking for that many people which is fine, as that money goes towards your total bill. They had a valet and street parking but don't bet on street parking as it's located on a pretty busy street. The interior of the establishment is nice and clean, there was a Dj and the whole vibe of the establishment is nice and has a family feel. Other people in the restaurant were congratulating me on graduating and it was just so nice. Our waiter was Craig and he was sooo amazing! He hooked us up, he was kind, accommodating and professional. I just had the best time here and the food was great. No one had left overs. Overall 10/10 would recommend ! Do yourself a favor and stop by. Craig - graduation celebration - $25 per person- parking - food - family feel - after church on a Sunday - Valet - drinks-

Out!Freaking!Standing! What a vibe! If you're in a rush, stop! Chill, relax and then enter. This place restored my soul! I had one of the worst days. Not being dramatic. The bank lost the cashiers check for my father's funeral. What?!!!? Talk about stressing. In just stressed! I have to wait until there next business day to do anything. Ughhhhh! After a magic glass of 1010 Cab and the incredible vibe. It was just magic. The food is magnificent and the drinks are Devine. This place is from God!! God bless you!

Trying to figure out the next time I can go back. The vibes were everything. Our waitress, Shy, did not disappoint and steered in the right direction as far as drinks and food were concerned. We missed the Sunday rush before the DJ arrived, but we are going to make our way back to have the full experience. To top it all off, this is a black owned business. I loved it all!

Tried 1010 Wine for the first time and I'd definitely be back. I came down from Riverside to support my friend while she DJ's the Mardi Gras event going on today. My first impression of 1010 Wine is that it is extremely clean, chic, and great for gsthetings/celebrations. Thank you to the hostess for being so warm and welcoming! The food was amazing. My friends and I had the taco Tuesday special, jerk tacos. They were soooo good(kudos to the Chef). We also had the Mardi Gras Mule, strong and delicious. I would have had 4 if I didn't have to drive all the way back to Riverside! The waiters were amazing. They kept coming back to refill our water and making sure everything was still good at our table. Thank you Lee and Zachary for such attentiveness! DJ Tuezday was amazing and made sure to keep the feeling up beat, happy, and played all the right jams. IG: djtuezday I'd definitely make the drive from Riverside again for the vibes, ambience, food, and drinks.

Came here on a Thursday night for tacos and HH. Although it was HH menu, the house wines were about $14-15 so it was a bit pricier than I expected. Also ordered the tacos and Hennessy wings. Sad to say...both items were underwhelming. I wanted to love this place but the flavors weren't quite there. The bottle wines we wanted to order for the table also weren't available. DJ and booth tables were nice but overall this was place was okay.

Wonderful food, outstanding service, great atmosphere and ambiance. Truly an excellent experience. Enjoyed engaging with the co-owner. Recommendations were on point and every dish exceeded expectations. Pleasant vibe. Black owned. Woman owned. PLEASE make your way here - You won't be disappointed!

Prawns...plentiful. I forgot to take a photo of the dish before I tore into it!

This is a nice local eatery. I'd say they focus more on the food rather than the wine because two of bottles we wanted were out of stock. The service here is great. I would suggest for a girls night out opposed to a 'date night''. It was very loud and bright inside, almost cafeteria style but we enjoyed the food. I would not recommend the oysters Rockefeller. The prawns and the seasonal salad were the winners.

OK, so firstly, I would like to say that when you walk into the restaurant it's very unassuming from the outside and when you get inside, it's like a hidden gem. The ambience, the DJ with the saxophone playing the sounds of laughter and conversation is what automatically makes you feel joyful. The decor is upscale, but not snooty and it's intimate but not cramped, overall, it's a really fabulous way to spend an evening, So my girlfriends took me there for my birthday dinner and we were all impressed by our server whose name is Craig who was so lovely and so professional he wasn't pushy and was very informative about the menu and what our options were and went above and beyond to even bring me a bottle of wine by John Legend, which was quite delicious. I had the shrimp and grits, which was crazy good and I took the wine flight, which was four South African wines and there wasn't a bad one in the group. They were all delicious. Two of the sisters who own the restaurant came to our table and greeted us and we felt like VIP. I give this restaurant a 10 out of 10 for it's ambience and service and food options. Can't wait to go back in fact I'm going there in a week and a half with another friend!! don't hesitate y'all. It's quite a vibe.

The vibes here are great. - Parking: street or valet for $10 - Wine selection: Super impressive, the largest selection of black owned wines in the state. I found my new favorite Sauvignon blanc here. - Food: I just had fries and they're solid, but I need to come back for brunch. - Ambiance: I came for an event on Sunday and there seemed to be a lot of regulars there. It had a neighborhood bar feel. Inside it's a chic/glam look, with white table tops and velvet chairs. They have a few TVs as well behind the bar. The DJ was amazing that day. - Staff: Super friendly, but getting served in the beginning was a bit slow. Our server went on break before getting our drinks so we had to get up and ask someone else if they could help. But once she did, the quality of service was good.

My first time here, and I had absolutely the best time ever! It was battle of the bands after party too, so it really was turnt!! Started of Black history month here with a bang! The best black bar I've ever tried I had so many good wines and the my even let me sample before I picked. I order some of the best wines and I forgot all the names because I would tell the bartender to give me what's good lol literally all of them were good! And of course black owned! I do have pics tho of bottles I did try! The food was also bomb too! I had the Hennessy flavored wings w/ a side of collard greens and tried the impossible burger slides. My friend ordered the salmon bites and I tried one and they were so good too!! The food was so fresh and hot!!! Which I really love!! Gotta try the chicken next time for sure! I really loved the ambiance here and the decor and how modern it is! Very clean also!! They have happy hour menu and they serve brunch as well!! I heard the brunch is good too! Going to try that as well lol Last but not least I want to say my friend and I stayed here for 5 hours because the customer service was beyond exceptional! I love that !! Le manager/ owner was wonderful and had the best attitude and was working greatly under pressure !! She was attentive at all times with what we needed and it rare was correct! Leslie the other owner was amazing too! They are down to earth and easy going with superb hospitality! Honestly, I see why the reviews are great this bar is the place to go! A bomb Dj, the best wines, good food quality, and elite customer service! Good for all types of occasions no doubt about it! I will be back and highly recommend!! It's feels good to see women if color excelling with a business! There is street parking, and valet for $10.00 -Marshay D.

Sunday brunch was definitely a vibe. R&B playing, food was delicious and our server Mars was great. I had the chicken biscuit and some oysters, both very flavorful. I started with the white wine flight but definitely need another pour after that. Definitely have to come during the week!

1010 Wine and Events Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - 1010 Wine and Events

Is the restaurant kid friendly for brunch?

    Yes

How much are the wine flights, and how is the street parking,is it really bad?

They have Valet service to address any parking issues. Wine flights not exactly sure but I believe it's a big seller.

What covid protocols are in place? Do they require proof of vaccination? Is there an outdoor area?

No outdoor seating, and no one asked for proof of vaccination. Some servers wear masks, but even then the mask is below their nose.

Is this restaurant kid friendly interns of menu options and possibly having high chairs?

It is but it's definitely more of an adult atmosphere! I wouldn't recommend bringing children

    Are reservations required?

No but you should if you have a bigger party

You can tell they really put intention behind their selection, with wines from all over (and even some organic/vegan-friendly options if that's your thing). I love that you can grab a glass, do a flight, or just browse and take a bottle home. The rotating wine list keeps things interesting, so it doesn't feel like the same experience every time. The vibe is super relaxed and unpretentious -- definitely the kind of place where you can show up whether you know your wines or just want to sip something cute and call it a day. Bonus points for being able to bring in food from nearby spots since they keep it simple with snacks. Overall, it's giving neighborhood favorite energy. Perfect for a casual date, catch-up with friends, or a solo "I deserve a glass of wine" moment.

I went thru the back door. It's a small boutique wine shop. The restroom is clean and to your right as soon as you enter. A water station to your left. They have several tables and a bar to sit at. Pictures on the wall complimenting the vibe. Everything was clean. The shop is beautiful in its own way. The music wasn't loud, it was just right. It's definitely a welcoming atmosphere. I let the host know that I was there for the wine tasting and he immediately set me up with a menu and a table. I decided on the "shareable flights". I then chose 2 white and 2 red wines. Didn't have a preference so I went with his recommendations or suggestions and allowed him to choose lol. The individuals who were there last night were mostly locals. Had the pleasure of meeting an older couple (Erin and Conrad Stanley) in which I ended up giving my last flight to them while we had an awesome conversation lol. Everyone was friendly and real cool. Not making me feel out of place nor uncomfortable. I also met another couple after they left. I went to the restroom, came back and a couple was standing near my table. So into his conversation, dude sat down then apologized for sitting at my table and I told him it's all good haha. Next thing you know we're all laughing and conversing haha. I really enjoyed my 3 hrs here. I had a great experience. Took a cross word puzzle for my entertainment and ended up meeting some new wonderful people instead. I will definitely be back. No food but you can order from "Olive It" which is next door. I'm bringing my charcuterie board next time tho. They make you feel like you're at home. The service was hospitable. I also had the pleasure of seeing the owners and interacting with the wife as she cleaned the tables and made her rounds checking up on all of the guests. The husband was doing his part also, entertaining at the bar lol and providing whatever services needed. I love it... They do their best to provide professional and friendly service. I have no complaints whatsoever. I was even told they allow dogs. Big win !!! lol

After talking shop and perusing the menu, we opted for a bottle of bordeaux. Super delicious and served in super classy, giant and thin wine glasses. To start, we had hummus, the endive salad, and the baked brie. Everything was delicious! My favorite being the endive salad and baked brie. The salad was tossed in a delicious vinaigrette with walnuts and cheese. The baked brie was great served in toasty bread and shaved truffle on it. The truffle made the brie super flavorful. The location has a spacious area filled with a variety of wine options. I picked a Bourgogne Chardonnay from France ($36). We came on a late Monday afternoon and, lucky for us, they have a bar special on Mondays: No corkage fee! They also have Happy Hour-- Monday to Friday from 3-6pm. The Chardonnay was divine! I would totally return and purchase another bottle. We also ordered a charcuterie board and took advantage of their happy hour special for $20 (pick two-- one cheese and one meat). We opted for the 'Humboldt Fog' Chèvre as our cheese option and the Bresaola for our meat option. Both were delicious, but the chèvre was truly exquisite. We shared one charcuterie board with five people and it was enough; however if you're on the hungry side, I suggest two charcuterie boards for five or six people. In addition to meat and cheese, it comes with crackers, some pickled veggies, onion jam, candied nuts, whole grain Dijon, and apple slices. On the left side of the venue you have your variety of wine options; on the right side, there's the bar and some tables, plus a small area with other snacks for purchase that pair nicely with wine or beer. They even sell the Torres truffle chips! My only complaint is the service, unfortunately. The lady at the cashier was super friendly, however the bar tender was not so welcoming. When he came over to our table to open our wine bottle, he didn't greet us, smile, or say anything. He took our bottle and opened it and then asked who was going to taste. Not sure if he thought we didn't speak English since we were speaking another language when he came to our table, but overall, we all noticed his attitude and thought it was rather unwelcoming. Because of this experience, I rate this place a 4/5, however, everything else was great!

My friend is a member of their Wine Club and always speaks so highly of it. When visiting LA…read morerecently I had the opportunity to come visit with her. We were treated so nicely and it was great to taste their wines and learn about their business. The location is very accessible and it was a great setup to enjoy wine with friends. I loved the passion Chris has when he speaks about the wines. I can't wait to go back and try more when I am in the area.

We saw Instagram that The Blending Lab moved into our neighborhood and the opening party was last…read morenight. We immediately walked over and I was trying to get more info on what they're all about and I left confused. I considered hosting a party at blending lab in the past & I was under the impression that we blend our own wine. Yesterday I asked the guy behind the counter some questions and he didn't mention this option at all. He said we can taste wine and pay for a glass...I was actually trying to learn more about the business, not the offerings at the opening party . I'm truly invested in putting beautiful West Adam's on the map, I love and purposely made an effort to move into this neighborhood. Maybe next time I'll learn more about what they'll be offering at this new location. They have a cute interior plus a small outdoor area with string lights. I was a bit surprised the glass of wine was $20 which isn't competitive for this area (the area is not nice enough yet) but I know costs are getting high. I do want to support businesses moving into our community but I'd like them to take into consideration that this is still south LA and a lot of people who grew up in this neighborhood isn't a fan of the gentrification and pricing the businesses charge I do feel for them, people like me moving into the neighborhood hasn't helped but even for me I thought it was a bit much. I'll continued observing but nonetheless am happy to see something be open up. Maybe I'll take a class one day if that's still an option and update my review.
