I love, love their food and their house wine never disappoints. They can get busy and you might end up at the bar even for an early dinner so reserve a table. Three of us, and we each ordered a different item and did some cross tasting. Everything was perfect! Their Chicken Marsala was the most perfect tender chicken breast I had. I had the the prawns on polenta and the sauce was amazing and the prawns were fresh. Another friend had pasta. Wish we had time to pause and take pics but got busy digging in, fast!

The service was welcoming and great overall! We most enjoyed the handmade beef meatballs and white wine. The wine selection during happy hour is pretty limited though. Gnocchi lamb ragu was alright, just a bit mushy compared to other gnocchi dishes I've tried, and a small portion for the price. I had a bite of my friends' spaghetti con scampi which had a good seafood flavor. Would skip the bruschetta next time. Limited parking spots in a small lot next to the restaurant so we took an Uber. Definitely walkable if you're nearby in the culver city area.

Truly enjoyed this restaurant! Came here with family for a birthday celebration and it couldn't have been any better! The dining room isn't big, but roomy enough for a party of 8 and they also have bar sitting. The area was clean and well maintained. Our waiter was wonderful! Helped with wine selections, which I needed as they have some great Italian wines we hadn't tried yet and I am glad we did! Our food was some of the best Italian we've had in a long time. From appetizers to main course and dessert I wouldn't change a thing. I had the tiramisu for dessert and it was heavenly. I'd go back just for the dessert alone. By far the best tiramisu I've ever had and I make it a point to try it at any place that serves it. We will definitely be going back and bringing friends and more family, because everyone must try this place!

Amazing!! Food, Service and the calm ambiance. It's a small place but definitely a must. I have been here a few times and I have never had a bad experience, the food here is so good. Place is very clean. Very intimate. Met the owner Sara and she is such a great person, very welcoming. Keep an eye out for wine tasting events here as well.

Really enjoyed this restaurant! Came here with a friend for dinner and thankfully we called head to make sure we were able to get a table. We had just missed the happy hour specials but we're still really excited to sit down and enjoy this new restaurant. I ordered the homemade beef meatballs and enjoyed one of their cups of red wine. Everything was cooked to perfection and I could tell it was handmade just as the menu suggested. The service was great and our server was the sweetest. The restaurant has such a cozy vibe and is definitely perfect for an amazing date night or an intimate dinner night. I will definitely be back!

Wine list wasn't overwhelming. I enjoyed the variety they had and pricing was fair. The meatballs were tasty, I enjoyed the red sauce with them and bread. The butternut squash ravioli was good, but I prefer it to be more creamy and heavy. The portion was also small. The fettuccine alfredo with mushrooms was my favorite dish of the night. The mushroom flavor was there but not overwhelming. Service was quick and attentive. The wine bar has a nicely warm lit ambiance with small table seating and wine bar. A little loud with conversations and tables close together. I think overall, this place does wine good and food good bringing it to 4 stars. If it was only based on food, perhaps a 3 star.

The joy of being in a great place... Sara's Wine Bar.

Sara's Wine Bar has been one of my favorite places in Culver City for over 13 years. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and it's the perfect spot to relax and unwind. Their happy hour is fantastic, the daily specials are always delicious, and the service is consistently wonderful. What really keeps me coming back is the food. Some of the best Italian food in Culver City...fresh, flavorful, and made with care. You can truly tell they take pride in what they serve. If you're looking for a cozy neighborhood spot with great wine, amazing Italian dishes, and friendly service, Sara's Wine Bar is a gem. I highly recommend it! -- Charlene

HUGE PORTIONS! And very reasonable prices. I got a glass of white wine for $10 (not during happy hour) and it was a *heavy* pour. I got the gnocchi too - it was ok. The meat in the sauce was a little tough, but tasted nice. I sat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly and the food came extremely fast. There's a dedicated lot (free) so parking is really easy.

Had a lovely dinner here. We started with the bruschetta which was fresh and a lovely start to meal. Then all three of us went for pasta plates. The mushroom fettuccini was simple but tasty though nothing that most folks couldn't make at home. Ended by sharing tiramisu which was perfect. Not too sweet or too strong on the coffee (important for the caffeine sensitive). There is a parking lot for easy parking. If the lot is full there is plenty of street parking right out front.

Wow. SARA by DAY just became my new favorite weekday lunch ritual. If you already love Sara by night, trust me--lunch will knock your socks off. Sara The Wine Bar is now open for LUNCH, weekdays 11:30-3:00, and honestly, it's a New Year's gift to the neighborhood. Relaxed, delicious, soulful, and utterly charming. And FREE parking. I had the focaccia avocado toast and... wow again. The focaccia was perfectly cooked and tender, the avocado fresh and flavorful, and the eggs on top were cooked to absolute perfection with a touch of Italian zest too. Every bite felt thoughtful, balanced, and quietly indulgent--the kind of dish that makes you slow down and smile. And the espresso? Pulled from beautifully roasted beans, rich, smooth, and exactly what a proper espresso should be. One sip and you know you're in very good hands. What truly makes the experience special, though, is Sara herself--there greeting you with genuine Italian warmth, grace, and hospitality. You don't just feel welcomed, you feel cared for. It's that rare combination of incredible food and authentic heart. Do yourself a favor--go hungry, stay a little longer than planned, and leave happy.

Hi Becky, you don’t need a reservation but it’s always recommended for dinner. Regarding the corkage fee, we don’t allow customers to bring their own bottle.

Can this place handle a group of about 30-40 on a Sunday afternoon?

You would definitely want to call ahead and have them reserve the seats for you. It is quite small so if you walk in with that many people it is a hit or miss that you will get seated (probably not), but if you call ahead they should be able to… Read more

The location has a spacious area filled with a variety of wine options. I picked a Bourgogne Chardonnay from France ($36). We came on a late Monday afternoon and, lucky for us, they have a bar special on Mondays: No corkage fee! They also have Happy Hour-- Monday to Friday from 3-6pm. The Chardonnay was divine! I would totally return and purchase another bottle. We also ordered a charcuterie board and took advantage of their happy hour special for $20 (pick two-- one cheese and one meat). We opted for the 'Humboldt Fog' Chèvre as our cheese option and the Bresaola for our meat option. Both were delicious, but the chèvre was truly exquisite. We shared one charcuterie board with five people and it was enough; however if you're on the hungry side, I suggest two charcuterie boards for five or six people. In addition to meat and cheese, it comes with crackers, some pickled veggies, onion jam, candied nuts, whole grain Dijon, and apple slices. On the left side of the venue you have your variety of wine options; on the right side, there's the bar and some tables, plus a small area with other snacks for purchase that pair nicely with wine or beer. They even sell the Torres truffle chips! My only complaint is the service, unfortunately. The lady at the cashier was super friendly, however the bar tender was not so welcoming. When he came over to our table to open our wine bottle, he didn't greet us, smile, or say anything. He took our bottle and opened it and then asked who was going to taste. Not sure if he thought we didn't speak English since we were speaking another language when he came to our table, but overall, we all noticed his attitude and thought it was rather unwelcoming. Because of this experience, I rate this place a 4/5, however, everything else was great!

She said that she could not look up my friend's name and that she would have to pay in order to get the discount. So rather than letting me do a nice thing before she arrives I have to now wait for my girlfriend to show up. As I was walking away, the gal then asked me for her name, which wouldn't that go to prove that she is a member and wouldn't that have allowed me to purchase the two tastings? She even said "I'm sorry to be annoying" to which I replied yes, that is very annoying. The woman doesn't have much flexibility, obviously and says that people try to take advantage of the discount by saying their friend is a member.... Blah blah blah. The whole thing in general just doesn't make any sense. Don't be annoying, especially on a relaxing Sunday. The discount is what, a dollar or two!? Just look up the name and ask her when she arrives if she is who I said she was. Beyond f-ing annoying and bad customer service. To start, we had hummus, the endive salad, and the baked brie. Everything was delicious! My favorite being the endive salad and baked brie. The salad was tossed in a delicious vinaigrette with walnuts and cheese. The baked brie was great served in toasty bread and shaved truffle on it. The truffle made the brie super flavorful.
