A quick shout-out to my favorite Italian restaurant! Although I haven't visited in person lately, I still order delivery through Grubhub. My go-to dishes are the Spaghetti Cacio e Pepe and the Bruschetta Avocado. The Cacio e Pepe may literally mean "spaghetti with cheese and pepper," but it's so much more than that. The pasta is perfectly coated in a silky, savory sauce made from Pecorino Romano and freshly cracked black pepper--simple ingredients that come together into something incredibly rich, comforting, and flavorful. The Bruschetta Avocado is another favorite and pairs beautifully with the pasta. I highly recommend both. And I'm sure Sara, the owner and operator, is still as chill and wonderful as ever. read more

I love, love their food and their house wine never disappoints. They can get busy and you might end up at the bar even for an early dinner so reserve a table. Three of us, and we each ordered a different item and did some cross tasting. Everything was perfect! Their Chicken Marsala was the most perfect tender chicken breast I had. Truly enjoyed this restaurant! Came here with family for a birthday celebration and it couldn't have been any better! The dining room isn't big, but roomy enough for a party of 8 and they also have bar sitting. The area was clean and well maintained. Our waiter was wonderful! Helped with wine selections, which I needed as they have some great Italian wines we hadn't tried yet and I am glad we did! Our food was some of the best Italian we've had in a long time. From appetizers to main course and dessert I wouldn't change a thing. I had the tiramisu for dessert and it was heavenly. I'd go back just for the dessert alone. By far the best tiramisu I've ever had and I make it a point to try it at any place that serves it. Wine list wasn't overwhelming. I enjoyed the variety they had and pricing was fair. The meatballs were tasty, I enjoyed the red sauce with them and bread. The butternut squash ravioli was good, but I prefer it to be more creamy and heavy. The portion was also small. The fettuccine alfredo with mushrooms was my favorite dish of the night. The mushroom flavor was there but not overwhelming. Service was quick and attentive. The wine bar has a nicely warm lit ambiance with small table seating and wine bar. Food was excellent! You can taste the difference in handmade pastas. Our boys couldn't get enough of the garlic focaccia bread; and polished off their lasagnas. Two thumbs up! Delicious restaurant located right on Sepulveda Boulevard. Parking is limited to street options, but the ambiance inside the restaurant is worth any parking difficulties. Dark and cozy with tea lights and a small, intimate sitting area. The food was delicious! I will note that the portions are somewhat small (especially for the price), BUT everything was delicious. Walked into the cute and charming wine bar that was dimly lit and had an intimate vibe. It was cozy and had a neighborhood feel to it. We sat atop the bar seating and were approached and greeted by the server pretty quickly. Since we were on a time crunch, we got right down to business with ordering a glass of their house red wine which happened to be Mezzadro that night (not sure if they rotate?) Pretty soon thereafter, I ordered the Pizza Schiacciata from the pizza flatbread section after Sara herself recommended it! It was light, airy, crispy, and flavorful! I recommend it so long as you're not super hungry since it wasn't satiating. Our server checked on us multiple times throughout our dinner and was friendly and kind. There is a small parking lot adjacent to the restaurant which is a win itself. The pricing is all very decent and reasonable. We even bought a bottle of the house wine to-go! So I really wanted to love this spot. I can't tell you I loved it 100% but I can tell you I love it enough and sometimes enough is just enough. I ordered the lasagna and it was OK. Service was good and I really liked like the dark ambient vibe. So what I have to tell you is that you're just gonna have to go and try it for yourself because... I had just a so-so experience. They had a decent wine list so my glass of wine and my lasagna was OK. Under the hot plates section and only $13, the home-style corn meal is on a bed of homemade bolognese sauce, topped with Parmesan cheese, which can be left off if you're lactose intolerant. The service is top notch and they have a good amount of indoor seating, as well as a bar. To make a reservation, call during their business hours - they open at 5pm. Bottles of wine are 10% off, so our group shared 3 of the chilled red 2020 vintage of Domaine de Fenouillet Ventoux, Rhone, France, which went from $44 to $40. If you're going with multiple people, I recommend saving and splitting a bottle. read more

Immediately upon walking in, the atmosphere was warm and lively. Service was quick and waiters were incredibly attentive and friendly. I ordered the Cavatelli Sausage and substituted it for gnocchi. The pasta dish tasted fresh and homemade, and it was the perfect amount of food. I also enjoyed the molten chocolate cake with berry compote and vanilla ice cream. Sara's is one of those places that you can easily find yourself 1,2,3 x a week (if my wallet allowed). They have a great happy hour menu and an even better rotation of menu specials (anytime Branzino is on special - get it!) The pasta is always fabulous and I make sure to get the caramel Pannacotta every single time I visit. But I mean this is LA. If you want a nice glass of wine, there are many places to go. BUT, you truly go to Sara's for the staff. Hands down, my #1 reason why I find myself here 1-2 a week.
