Out of all the dining establishments near my place of residence, I would have to admit that this place is my guilty pleasure. Although I like my coffee and tea both unsweetened and with no milk, the milk teas, especially the Thai iced tea from here are actually pretty good. Lots of selection of coffee, tea, and blended drinks, but my favorite is the Lychee Black Tea with lychee jelly. Sweet... Yes! Their food style is Taiwanese, and they have expanded their menu to even include vegetarian dishes. For me, I always order the popcorn chicken, spicy... Snack size or entree portion, Yum! Service is always friendly, and if you go there often enough, they will remember you by name and what you normally order. Never a disappointment from here! read more

I love stopping by this little Simi Valley gem tucked in the corner of the Yosemite/LA Ave strip mall. The owner is really friendly and makes an effort to remember who you are. My go to favorites are the milk tea boba, fresh melon slushie & popcorn chicken snack (extra spicy). I haven't tried everything on the menu, but I can tell you that all the things that I've had so far are really yummy. Sometimes when you go to boba cafes, the drinks taste a little artificial (powder flavored), but that's not the case at 118 Cafe. All the drinks have great depth and are very fresh. So, go on over and treat yourself to a refreshing drink!! PS. Sometimes the cafe can get busy, so if there are tons of people ordering food/drinks, just expect a 10 minute wait for dishes from the kitchen/drinks bar. Went again with a birth group friend last Friday and got a few different items. The sesame balls are delicious and very sweet with the red bean paste filling. I had talked to the owner and she said they do have the bao with the same filling but it isn't that popular with folks except of the Asian backgrounds lol. I have a coworker who has brought red bean paste bao (from an Asian market in LA) to work before and it is pretty good! I hope to try that variation next time. My friend got a wide variety of items to share with her kidlet from taquitos, bao, popcorn chicken, and a few other things. I got the Korean BBQ pork bowl which was delicious but the flavors are very different for most not familiar with korean BBQ but it was spot on for me. We left with full happy stomachs. read more

The Boba tasted stale and the lids were not properly sealed. It was one of the saddest boba experiences I have ever experienced.

The variety in cupcakes is wonderful. My granddaughter loves the churro cupcakes, which look fabulous and taste delicious. All their bakery items look good but have only tried their cupcakes. Excellent service and always very courteous staff. read more

If you want boba and you are in Simi this is the place to go. The staff will always greet you when you walk in and bring your drink to you after you order. The prices are good and the boba isn't bad. There are a lot of things going on inside including a rather out of the place shop for tchotchkes. 118 Cafe has an excellent healthy options menu! I just got their spinach salad and it is so good! Very fresh and tasty. I am also hooked on their vegetarian shrimp and rice bowl. I love the spices! It is now my favorite lunch. In April, 118 Cafe launched the Aries Tea special. Of course I had to try it and was not disappointed. It has mango and lychee flavors blended in the drink. I have been coming here since I was a little girl, the staff is just as friendly as I remember and the boba and vegan jerky is sooo good! They have lots of great Knick knacks to shop and look at while waiting for the drinks! My husband really wanted to try the food but we had already picked up yummy vegan pizza from ny pizza factory! Very disappointing- the tea and appetizers I got weren't bad, it the actual food itself was not very food tasting/ the portion of meat was very small, especially compared to a normal Chinese restaurant. While the customer service was nice I wouldn't recommend or go back here again. read more

This is my go to boba shop when I'm back in town. I've been coming here for the last 10 years or so and it never fails me. it's the hub of a lot of great memories with my friends. There are probably a million boba shops nowadays, but this one is a little mom and pop shop that gets to know its customers. They're super hard working and they're always making more and different flavors for their menu. I always judge a boba spot by how well they make their milk tea. It's such a basic drink that if they mess that up, who knows what else they're capable of! Luckily, 118 passed my test. My mom and I like to come here after picking up my little sister from school. This honestly feels like the only boba spot here in Simi (that I know of & is worth going to). I will say I have been coming here since 2008. I haven't really ventured to other boba spots until about last year but I will say I have probably tried everything on the menu and have loved it all. The owner ISA is the best, she just knows what I like. Almost can never go wrong coming here. I love this place more then any other fake boba spots. The boba is fresh daily and all the different jellies to choose from just make it that much better for your add one for a drink. After lunch I wanted something sweet, so my friend suggested 118 cafe for a boba tea. It was about 3:30 pm and the place was packed with kids, looked like a bunch of middle school kids had just got out of school and all walked into 118 cafe. When we ordered the lady said it'll be a while since there are so many orders being processed, must have been at least 30 rugrats in there ordering boba drinks. Even with so many orders going on the drinks came out fairly fast. I actually ordered a pineapple spinach juice that was freshly made. It was nice and sweet from the pineapple didn't taste any spinach even tho the drink was green. My friend ordered a mango smoothie, it tasted pretty good also but I think she like my juice better after tasting it. I ordered a large juice and it was fairly cheap compared to most places that freshly juice for you. I would definitely go back for juice again. I like boba smoothies especially taro but rather stick with something healthy but tasty and the fresh juices hit the spot. read more

Walked here from Sage Creek. Brought my 1 1/2 year old and she had a blast looking at all the knick-knacks, there little fish tank and climbing up on there really low seats. Anyways friendly staff great boba and they seemed to have made a great spot for young teens to hang out which is awesome. I would suggest updating the menu board to a more easy to read board maybe a nice big chalk board and get someone who is creative to write out your menu. read more

This is a landmark of Simi Valley. It is owned and operated by an incredible woman named Isa (pronounced Ice-a). She's the person that remembers you and welcomes you like an aunt you haven't seen in a minute. The environment she created is a place to hang out and relax. There are board games and magazines to enjoy as you eat or wait for your order. I love the snacks! Try the popcorn chicken and the fried potstickers. I usually get one of each with my Lavender Taro Smoothie with Regular Boba. Mocha Lavender is also a favorite of mine. Don't see it on the menu? Well ask for whatever you want. Best boba in Simi Valley, we love this location and have been coming here for years since I was pregnant of my daughter. I recommend trying their spicy popcorn chicken and the mango smoothies(if you are a mango lover). They also have a cute little boutique to pass time and shop while you wait for your order. I usually call and order ahead of time and by the time I reach my order is ready so I don't have to wait. Their costumer service is amazing, always so welcoming and warming. If it wasn't for COVID-19 this place is perfect for sitting and spending time with friends and family enjoying a snack while playing a board game. For how many stars they have I expected better. Poor customer service: 1. I wasn't greeted when I walked in, just glanced at. 2. The two employees were kind of giggling and smiling and giving glances to each other, which made me feel as though they were making fun of me. The tea itself was not bad, but the boba was the worst I've ever had. It was hard and had ZERO taste. Not enjoyable to consume at all so I didn't even finish the drink.
